Někde tam daleko za řekou smrti, v zemi nekonečných stínů, chladu a bolesti, jsou hluboké močály. Po staletí v nich mokvají a rozkládají se mrtvá těla. Možná jste si představovali nebe s bílými oblaky, ale vyvedu vás z omylu. Po smrti následuje jenom utrpení, které je o hodně horší, než jaké jste zažívali za svého života. Dokud se nerozpadnete v prach. Vím to já i česká black death metalová kapela ME´ON.
Kombinace syrového death metalu a ostrého, chladného black metalu mě vždy fascinovala. Oba pánové nám umíchali na svém debutovém EP hodně jedovatý koktejl. Tři skladby vás pohřbí zaživa. Nezapomnělo se ale ani na pochmurnou, tajemnou atmosféru. Mám tak při poslechu opravdu pocit, že se toulám po nekonečných cestách v záhrobí.
Také vám někdy přijde současný svět natolik podivný, že raději sestupujete stále dokola do sklepení, děsíte se světla a připadáte si prokletí? Tak v tom případě vám bude EP "Yoshra" určitě vyhovovat. Je velmi dobře napsáno, postupně graduje, je nekompromisní a mrazivé zároveň. Na to, že se jedná o první počin kapely, tak má nebývale dobrý zvuk. Mohl by být sice trošku špinavější, ale to berte jen jako malou výtku starého psa. Jinak tu vše sedí na svých místech. Líbí se mi, že na jednu stranu pánové čerpají ze starých black death metalových archívů, ale zároveň se snaží do skladeb vložit i své nápady a invenci. Dalo by se také napsat, že jsem nečekal vůbec nic a nakonec se spokojeně kýval do rytmu a nechal se pohltit krvavou mlhou. ME´ON jsou tak příslibem do budoucna a už teď se těším na plnohodnotné dlouhohrající album. Zajímalo by mě, jak kapela bude nadále rozvíjet své temné myšlenky. Osobně to mám nastavené tak, že mě musí hudba chytnout, dostat se mi do žil i do podvědomí, musí mě bavit se k ní vracet. A to zde platí na sto procent. Marně přemýšlím nad tím, co bych kapele vytknul, hledám něco, co by mi vadilo nebo iritovalo. Na nic jsem ale nepřišel. Jasně, podobných smeček je dnes velké množství, jen některé ale dokáží zaujmout. ME´ON patří mezi vyvolené. Mezi ty, kteří hrají opravdově, ryze, uvěřitelně, kteří mají talent a jsou naprosto autentičtí. Kdo mě znáte, tak moc dobře víte, že tohle jsou pro mě věci, které považuji za zcela zásadní. My, kteří hlídáme vstup do podsvětí již několik dekád, víme své. Někde tam daleko za řekou smrti, v zemi nekonečných stínů, chladu a bolesti, jsou hluboké močály. The combination of raw death metal and sharp, cold black metal has always fascinated me. On their debut EP, these two gentlemen have concocted a very toxic cocktail for us. Three tracks will bury you alive. But they haven’t forgotten the gloomy, mysterious atmosphere either. So when I listen to it, I really feel like I’m wandering along endless paths in the afterlife.
Do you ever find the modern world so strange that you’d rather keep going down into the basement over and over again, dread the light, and feel cursed? Well, in that case, the “Yoshra” EP will definitely be right up your alley. It’s very well written, builds up gradually, and is both uncompromising and chilling at the same time. Considering this is the band’s debut, it has an exceptionally good sound. It could be a little grittier, but take that as just a minor quibble from an old-timer. Otherwise, everything falls into place here. I like that, on the one hand, the guys draw from the old black death metal archives, but at the same time they try to inject their own ideas and creativity into the songs. I could also say that I wasn’t expecting anything at all, and in the end I found myself happily nodding to the beat and letting myself be engulfed by the bloody fog. ME’ON are a promising act for the future, and I’m already looking forward to a full-length album. I’m curious to see how the band will continue to develop its dark concepts. Personally, I’m the kind of person who needs music to grab me, get into my veins and my subconscious I have to enjoy coming back to it. And that’s 100 percent true here. I’m racking my brain trying to think of what I could criticize about the band; I’m looking for something that would bother or irritate me. But I didn’t find anything. Sure, there are plenty of similar bands out there today, but only a few manage to capture your attention. ME’ON is among the chosen few those who play with sincerity, purity, and believability; who have talent and are completely authentic. Those of you who know me know very well that these are the things I consider absolutely essential. We, who have been guarding the entrance to the underworld for several decades now, know what we’re talking about.
