"Cult Of The Dog" je hodně prašivou, neotesanou záležitostí, která bude nejvíc vyhovovat ortodoxním fanouškům naprostého zla, klasických postupů a nekonečné tmy.

Asphyx says:

The wind is picking up in the distance, and the clouds hang low. I’m standing by the morgue in an old cemetery far to the north. The undead are very restless today. They whisper, curse ominously, hiss, and toss and turn in their cursed graves. I feel a chill in my bones, and endless darkness envelops me. Here it comes a shockwave sweeps me away as I listen to the new album by the Norwegian demons DEATHCULT. Those in the know are well aware that this is a pack made up entirely of seasoned musicians.

The music here is appropriately filthy, steeped in decay and rage, and shrouded in thick cobwebs. No frills, no compromises the band relies on raw riffs, killer drums, and venomous vocals. This is an album for all the damned, the outcasts, the ones buried behind the cemetery wall. It draws upon ancient archives of evil.

Wiped off the face of the earth, burned to ashes, I rose again, stronger than ever. No wonder this recording is packed with accumulated energy, primal aggression, and utter darkness. The band blasphemes in a very genuine, realistic, believable, and utterly authentic way. The utterly raw and gritty sound contributes greatly to this, evoking recordings from the 1990s. Everything is stripped down to the bone, shrouded in a bloody fog. The atmosphere is so captivating and harrowing that I forgot about the strange world around me and focused solely on the sharp melodies. I died, was reborn, and wandered through the endless corridors of the underworld. DEATHCULT will take you to the other side, to the land of long shadows. You’ll visit the most abominable temples of utter pain and suffering, face your own demons, and bow down before Satan himself. This isn’t just another album in the lineup, but rather a bloody ritual to summon dark forces. I nod contentedly to the beat, letting the individual motifs chip the flesh from my bones. “Cult Of The Dog” is a pretty gritty, raw affair that will appeal most to die-hard fans of absolute evil, classic styles, and endless darkness. While the guys aren’t bringing anything new to the underworld, this new release is definitely more than just a well crafted piece of work. On the contrary, it has something extra a kind of morbid allure that compels me to keep coming back. The Cursed surely know what I’m talking about. Raw, occult black metal stripped to the bone that will drag you into the depths! Here, darkness meets cold and hatred!
