Určitě znáte ten pocit, který vás doslova pohltí, když navštívíte nějaké ošklivé místo. Oltář, na kterém se obětovalo bohům. Katakomby, ve kterých byly zavřeny a mučeny desítky obětí. Dům hluboko v lesích, ve kterém dodnes můžete nalézt kosti kývající se ve větru. S hudbou to mám nastavené hodně podobně. Vyhledávám death metal, který mě něčím zaujme. Poslechnu si vždy několikrát celé album a nechám jej na sebe působit. A pokud se mi začnou před očima promítat děsivé představy, vím, že jsem objevil další hudbu do své sbírky.

Na debut mexických THRONES OF BLOOD jsem narazil víceméně náhodou. Toulal jsem se zase jednou mimo současný svět. Hluboko v podzemí, v nekonečných chodbách undergroundu. Nahlédl jsem do jedné kobky a uviděl jsem v ní právě tuhle smečku. Jak stojí rozkročená na bílých lebkách a kostech. Ostré riffy, staroškolský feeling, parádní zvuk i obal. Sedl jsem si na dřevěnou rakev a potom došlo ke vzájemnému přenosu. Moje tělo se rozpadlo v prach a já jsem věděl, že jsem zde správně. Masakr v márnici!

Základem hudby mexických démonů jsou staré klasické smrtící kapely. Přidávány jsou potom technické pasáže, které doslova zabíjejí. Líbí se mi vlastně vše, ale hlavně způsob, jakým pánové přistupují k muzice. "Ages of Misanthropy" je album, které smrdí  jako shnilá mrtvola. Jedná se přesně o ten druh masakru, u kterého si budete podupávat nohou, mlátit pěstí do stolu a budete mít chuť jít rozbít nejbližší zeď. Songy odsýpají v divokých rytmech, v ulicích je prázdno a strach. Připadám si, jakoby naši planetu navštívili vetřelci z vesmíru. Jednotlivé motivy jsou velmi temné, chladné, rychlé a propracované. Pánové mají talent zaujmout, způsobit lavinu, tsunami, po kterém zůstane jen spálená země. Jedná se o první album kapely a v těchto případech většinou bývám shovívavý. Tentokrát nemusím, mexická smečka totiž nahrála desku, která s klidem obstojí i mezi o hodně slavnějšími jmény. Jsem moc rád, že jsem tuhle kobku navštívil. Kývám se do rytmu, kopu si vlastní hrob, užívám si mrtvolně zahnívající nálady, které jsou ze skladeb cítit na sto kilometrů. Určitě znáte ten pocit, který vás doslova pohltí, když navštívíte nějaké ošklivé místo. To samé se mi stalo i při poslechu THRONES OF BLOOD. Pokud jako já rádi objevujete nové hroby, neváhejte ani chvilku. Dostanete prvotřídní smrtící kov, spoustu děsivých zážitků a budete navěky prokleti. Masivní, zuřivý death metalový útok smečky rozzuřených maniaků! Krev v očích!

I'm sure you know the feeling that literally consumes you when you visit an ugly place. An altar where sacrifices were made to the gods. Catacombs where dozens of victims were imprisoned and tortured. A house deep in the woods where you can still find bones swaying in the wind. I have a very similar setup with music. I look for death metal that has something to catch my attention. I always listen to the whole album several times and let it affect me. And if horrifying images start to flash before my eyes, I know I've discovered another music for my collection.

I came across the debut of Mexico's THRONES OF BLOOD more or less by accident. I was once again wandering outside the contemporary world. Deep underground, in the endless corridors of the underground. I peeked into a dungeon and saw this particular pack. Standing straddling white skulls and bones. Sharp riffs, old-school feel, great sound and cover art. I sat down on a wooden coffin and then there was a mutual transmission. My body crumbled into dust and I knew I was right there. Massacre in the morgue!


The music of Mexican demons is based on the old classic death bands. Then technical passages are added that literally kill. I like pretty much everything, but especially the way the gentlemen approach the music. "Ages of Misanthropy" is an album that smells like a rotten corpse. This is exactly the kind of carnage that will have you stomping your foot, pounding your fist on the table and making you want to go smash the nearest wall. The songs are in wild rhythms, the streets are empty and scared. I feel like our planet has been visited by aliens from outer space. The individual themes are very dark, cold, fast and sophisticated. The gentlemen have a talent for captivating, for causing an avalanche, a tsunami, leaving only scorched earth. This is the band's first album, and in these cases I am usually lenient. This time I don't have to, because the Mexican pack has recorded an album that can easily stand up even among much more famous names. I'm very glad I visited this dungeon. I'm swaying to the rhythm, digging my own grave, enjoying the deadly rotting moods that can be felt from the songs a hundred kilometers away. I'm sure you know the feeling that literally consumes you when you visit an ugly place. The same thing happened to me while listening to THRONES OF BLOOD. If, like me, you like to discover new graves, don't hesitate a moment. You'll get top-notch death metal, lots of scary experiences, and be cursed forever. A massive, furious death metal assault by a pack of raging maniacs! Blood in your eyes!

A few questions - interview with death metal band from Mexico - THRONES OF BLOOD.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Alex: Hi Asphyx thanks for contacting us and for this interview opportunity, we really appreciate it.

Thrones Of Blood (TOB) is a four piece death metal band with old school and tech death influences from mexico city/ Mexico. Founded back in 2018 after changing the band name from Oedium (that lasted 2016-2017) to TOB, then we start recording some demos and singles in the same year and after in 2019, all was recorded in our home studio and uploaded to sound cloud platform.

We have played many singles shows here in Mexico at different venues with a lot of bands from the scene in our country, besides that we have the opportunities to be the open show for some international bands that came to play to our country like Obscura, Beyond Creation, Archspire, Cryptopsy and Your Chance is to Die. Always we have received a very good response from the public for our music in the shows.


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The album, was recorded at our home studio by our own, and then sent to M.A.T. studio for mixing and mastering, M.A.T. is a recognized studio speciallized in Metal here at Mexico managed by the legend Miguel Foetimat since 1993 and he have colaborated with the underground scene in Mexico and have all the experience of 30 year working on music production.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

Well in this case we have not released the album in physical edition yet, due to some budget problems we have decided that only digital format will be the medium of release, in the future we would like to make the CD edition but for now we have to wait.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Alex, the front man, he made all lyrics and the music composition.

The lyrics are about lovecraft literary works, mainly Chtulhu themes from the book of the call and They also deal with the world distruction and disasters that where caused by humans and the most important theme is the misanthropy that is the hate to the humanity and their behaivours that have given the name to the album.


Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The logo was created by Liz Abbott, she is a professional tatto artist here in mexico city.

The graphics are created by our guitarist Jorge, who is dedicated to all the design of the band and the website that are our social media stuff is taken also by Jorge and Alex.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We currently don’t have a label, we are now ready to hear proposals of some labels in order to take a desicion and the posibility to sign with one.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Well we idolise a lot of great bands from the death and tech death scene like the Faceless, Obscura, Beyond Creation, Dying Fetus, Nile, Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Archspire, Cattle Decapitation, Alkaloid, Cynic just to name few.

Our inspiration is from this bands above, we have took a lot of elements of their style and melt them to make a fresh mix of old school with the new stuff of death metal that is our favorite style.


Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

No we haven’t do that, with the release some labels start to contact us in order to neogotiate the phisycal production, but we are now waiting for the must convinient proposal for us.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

We have played like 30 shows in our carrer, we don’t played so often as we would like to do it due to the conditions in our country, the bands are very exploded and don’t have much benefit from the local shows, just promotion and the possibility to gain new fans.

Our best perfomances was on the opening shows of Obscura, Beyond Creation, Archspire, Cryptopsy and Your Chance is to Die.

Also in Cyber devastation and Kingdom depravity festivals that were orginized by some good promoters in our local scene.


What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Our plans are that we want to be heared by more metal fans, play more gigs to do promotion to the album and also start with the second album writing soon.

We want to achieve great things with the band, we would like to gain more fans outside Mexico, because looks like they have liked our stuff more than in our country, we would like to play gigs in other countries and festivals and enjoy life with what we most like that is playing metal and do headbanging along with the crowds.

Chodila takhle domů každý den. Temnou ulicí, pak kolem hřbitova. Nikdy se neohlížela za sebe a vždy poslouchala nějakou muziku. Dnes má ve sluchátkách novou desku francouzských death metalistů LIQUID FLESH a všechno je úplně jiné. Stíny jsou delší a mezi skladbami slyší divné zvuky. Od stěny se odlepí postava a pronásleduje ji. Utíká mezi hroby, myslí si, že mrtví ji ublížit nemůžou. Jenže opak je pravdou. Padá do čerstvě vykopaného hrobu a ráno naleznou její tělo roztrhané na kusy. Vrah se nikdy nenajde.

Jsou věci mezi nebem a zemí, které nelze vysvětlit. Třeba moje touha po morbidní muzice, po nahrávkách, které mi shnijí v rukou. Mám rád dobré hororové filmy a také smrtící kov, který mě rozdrtí na prach. Obojí umí Francouzi na výbornou. Tahle smečka má smrt zakódovanou v genech. 


Líbí se mi masivní, hutný a dobře čitelný zvuk. Obal také ihned zaujme. Po formální stránce je vše v nejlepším pořádku. Mě osobně se ale nejvíc líbí temné a černé nálady, které létají všude kolem, když si album neustále přehrávám dokola. Pánové mají svůj jasný a zřetelný rukopis, originální výraz, který je odlišuje od ostatních. Během poslechu si připadám jako v nějaké děsivé noční můře. Ostré riffy mi odsekávají maso od kostí, divoké bicí mi zase pokaždé vystřelí mozek z hlavy. Nahrávka je opravdu jako hororový příběh, na kterém jste byli se svoji dívkou v kině. Ošklivý a krvavý film se během několika okamžiků změní na krutou realitu. Na desce naleznete vlivy od CELTIC FROST, přes AUTOPSY, až třeba po CARCASS, UNDERGANG, ENTOMBED. To ale není tolik důležité, v dnešní době se nelze nějakému přirovnání vyvarovat. Pro mě osobně je nejdůležitější to, že se mi album líbí, rád se k němu vracím a dávám si jej do hlavy s velkou chutí. Až zase jednou půjdu v noci domů, budu dávat velký pozor, kdo stojí za rohem. Špinavé ulice, opuštěné hřbitovy, hluboké kanály. Do těchto míst LIQUID FLESH patří a zde musely skladby vznikat. "Dolores" na mě působí jako šílená vzpomínka, které se nelze zbavit, jako stará nezhojená rána, která začala znovu hnisat. Není divu, tahle nahrávka má v sobě vše potřebné, pro poctivý pohřeb do země. Deset halucinogeních scén v mrazivé podobě. Příběh ženy, který byste nechtěli zažít na vlastní kůži. Temný, hororový death metal s děsivě mrazivou atmosférou!

She used to come home like this every day. Down a dark street, then past the cemetery. She never looked behind her and always listened to music. Today she has the new album by French death metallers LIQUID FLESH in her headphones and everything is completely different. The shadows are longer and she hears strange noises between songs. A figure peels away from the wall and chases her. She runs between the graves, thinking the dead can't hurt her. But the opposite is true. She falls into a freshly dug grave and in the morning they find her body torn to pieces. The killer is never found.

There are things between heaven and earth that cannot be explained. Like my desire for morbid music, for records that rot in my hands. I like a good horror movie, and I also like deadly metal that crushes me to dust. The French do both very well. This pack has death coded into their genes.


I like the massive, dense and clear sound. The packaging also immediately catches the eye. Formally, everything is in the best order. But what I personally like most are the dark and black moods that fly all around as I play the album over and over. The gentlemen have their clear and distinct signature, an original expression that sets them apart from the rest. I feel like I'm in some kind of terrifying nightmare while listening to them. The sharp riffs cut the flesh from my bones, the ferocious drums blow my brains out every time. The record is really like a horror story you've been to the movies with your girl. An ugly and bloody movie turns into a harsh reality in a matter of moments. On the record you can find influences from CELTIC FROST, to AUTOPSY, to CARCASS, UNDERGANG, ENTOMBED. But that's not so important, nowadays you can't avoid some comparisons. For me personally, the most important thing is that I like the album, I like to come back to it and put it in my head with great gusto. When I go home at night again, I'll pay close attention to who's around the corner. Dirty streets, abandoned cemeteries, deep canals. These are the places LIQUID FLESH belongs to, and this is where the songs must have originated. "Dolores" strikes me as a crazy memory that can't be got rid of, like an old unhealed wound that has started to fester again. No wonder, this record has everything needed for an honest burial in the ground. Ten hallucinogenic scenes in chilling form. The story of a woman you wouldn't want to experience firsthand. Dark, horror death metal with an eerily cold atmosphere!

Slovenské Inferno chce prinášať to najlepšie zo slovenskej metalovej scény

Pôvodný Inferno fest, ktorý mal niekoľko svojich pokračovaní vo Vrútkach, sa po troch rokoch presúva do Prahy. Tu pod novým menom Slovenské Inferno chce prinášať to najlepšie zo slovenskej metalovej scény. Okrem slovenských kapiel sa vždy predstaví aj jeden český hosť, v ktorom hrajú alebo hosťujú Slováci.

Už za niekoľko dní (3.6.) sa otvoria brány známeho pražského klubu Modrá Vopice, kde sa v rámci prvého ročníka Slovenského inferna predstavia kapely DEPRESY, CRANIAL VOID a PSEUDOSAPIENS. Českým hosťom bude HORRIBLE CREATURES s dvoma Slovákmi v zostave. Večer uzavrie v rámci after párty gitarista PSEUDOSAPIENS so svojím porno-disco projektom FALUSOID.

Brány klubu sa otvoria už o 16:00 a od 17:00 zahrajú zúčastnené kapely v poradí PSEUDOSAPIENS, CRANIAL VOID, DEPRESY, HORRIBLE CREATURES. Akciu v podobe after párty uzavrie FALUSOID. Akcia sa koná za každého počasia, v prípade priaznivého sa bude konať na vonkajšom pódiu, v prípade nepriaznivého počasia v interiéri klubu.

Festival otvorí pätica PSEUDOSAPIENS, ktorá nie je na metalovej scéne žiadnym nováčikom. Na konte ma dva albumy melodického metalu, ktorý poteší nejedno metalové srdce vychované na göteborskej scéne.


Zo Šale príde zahrať progresívna death metalová úderka CRANIAL VOID. Ich debutový album „Celestial“ zožal výborne recenzie nie len na Slovensku alebo v Čechách. Kapela sa dokonca minulý rok sa stala víťazom v kategórii Hard & Heavy v prestížnej Radio_Head Awards.


Slovenské DEPRESY pravdepodobne netreba extra predstavovať. Jedna z najstarších death metalových kapiel na Slovensku brázdi pódia už pekne dlho a ich posledný album naznačil, že pätica z Trenčína a z Bánoviec nad Bebravou to nemá stále v záujme zabaliť.


Voľba českého hosťa bola rýchla a jasná. HORRIBLE CREATURES momentálne jedna z top kapiel vo svojom štýle (Groove thrash/death metal) v Čechách má vo svojich radoch aj dvoch Slovákov, známych z HC zoskupenia KONFRONT urobí na pódiu asi poriadny uragán a uzavrie Slovenské Inferno.

Ale to samozrejme nie je všetko. Po akcii organizátori pripravili after párty, na ktorej sa určite všetci návštevníci zabavia na pohotových a plne pornografických textoch od Falusoida. Určite je na čo tešiť.

Každou noc, v každém zlém snu, se díváš do její tváře. Má velké zuby a kolem se vznáší pach rozkládajících se těl, které za dlouhé roky snědla. Noční můra, příšera z dávných pověstí, obestřená záhadami. Vyvolal si ji při jednom starém rituálu, když si poslouchal novou desku německých STAR OF MADNESS. Ti letos přicházejí se svým druhým dlouhohrajícím albem. Opět na něm chrastí pytlem plným zmrzlých kostí a skládají poctu švédskému death metalu i mistru H.P. Lovercraftovi.

Stačí několik prvních tónů, první ostrý riff a hned vím, s kým mám tu čest. Jedná se o hudbu, zahranou s nadšením a odhodláním. Cítím z ní chlad, temnotu, oceňuji zajímavé melodie. Užívám si záhrobní atmosféru a kývám se do rytmu jako starý zkušený hrobník. Příšera se znovu probudila. A má velký hlad!


Jakobych se při poslechu ztratil v nekonečných močálech. Propadám se do hlubin, topím se a zalykám vlastní zkaženou krví. Já i kapela uctíváme smečky jako UNLEASHED, FLESHCRAWL, DISMEMBER, ENTRAILS. Moc doře totiž víme, že až přejdeme na druhou stranu, na onen svět, tak se zde nic jiného než podobná muzika hrát nebude. Ze skladeb cítím pach rozkládajících se mrtvol, užívám si ledově zastřené melodie, jsem rád ve společnosti celého alba "Into the Realm of Cthulhu". Je totiž poctivě zahrané, se srdcem na dlani. Je vám asi jasné, že se zde nejedná o nic nového, ani převratného, ale já kapele všechno věřím a to je pro mě, jako starého smrťáka asi nejdůležitější. Mají parádní zničující zvuk, spoustu dobrých nápadů a skvělý obal. Řekněte mi, co si víc může fanoušek, který podobné smečky poslouchá více než třicet let, přát? Vždyť, co může být krásnějšího, než ranní návštěva hřbitova. V márnici ještě nikdo nespí. Mezi hroby se prohání lehký vítr a vy moc dobře víte, že jste zde správně. Čtete si příběhy o Cthulhu, neustále přidávávte hlaistost. Užíváte si jednotlivé pasáže, podupáváte si do rytmu a modlíte se, aby večer zase přišla vaše oblíbená noční můra. STAR OF MADNESS se povedlo nahrát album, které by nemělo chybět ve sbírce žádného uctívače severského metalu, dlouhých stínů a čerstvě otevřených hrobů. Podávám ruku nemrtvým, máme rádi stejné hodnoty. Kýváme se do rytmu a souhlasně říkáme, ano, tady se hraje přesně pro nás, pro všechny prokleté! Opravdový, ryzí, zabijácký death metalový kult! Morbidní setkání s krvelačnou bestií!

Every night, in every bad dream, you look into her face. She has big teeth and the smell of decaying bodies she's eaten over the years hovers around her. A nightmare, a monster from ancient legends, shrouded in mystery. He summoned it during an old ritual, listening to the new album by Germany's STAR OF MADNESS. This year they come with their second full-length album. Once again they rattle a bag full of frozen bones on it, paying homage to Swedish death metal and the master H.P. Lovercraft.

Just the first few notes, the first sharp riff and I know immediately who I'm dealing with. This is music played with passion and determination. I feel the coldness, the darkness, I appreciate the interesting melodies. I enjoy the otherworldly atmosphere and sway to the rhythm like a seasoned old undertaker. The monster has reawakened. And he's very hungry!


It's like I'm lost in an endless swamp listening to it. I'm sinking into the depths, drowning and drowning in my own corrupted blood. Me and the band worship packs like UNLEASHED, FLESHCRAWL, DISMEMBER, ENTRAILS. We know very well that when we cross over to the other side, to the other world, nothing but similar music will be played here. I can smell the smell of decomposing corpses from the songs, I enjoy the icy melodies, I am happy in the company of the whole album "Into the Realm of Cthulhu". Because it is honestly played, with the heart in the palm of the hand. It's probably obvious to you that there is nothing new or groundbreaking here, but I trust the band all the way, and that's probably the most important thing for me as an old reaper. They've got an awesome crushing sound, a lot of good ideas and a great cover. Tell me, what more could a fan who has been listening to similar bands for over thirty years want? After all, what could be more beautiful than a morning visit to the cemetery. Nobody sleeps in a morgue. There's a light breeze blowing between the graves and you know you're in the right place. You read stories about Cthulhu, keep adding to the headiness. You enjoy each passage, tapping your feet to the rhythm and praying that your favorite nightmare will come again tonight. STAR OF MADNESS have managed to record an album that should not be missing from the collection of any worshipper of Nordic metal, long shadows and freshly opened graves. I shake hands with the undead, we like the same values. We sway to the rhythm and say in agreement, yes, this is where it's played just for us, for all the damned! A true, pure, killer death metal cult! A morbid encounter with a bloodthirsty beast!

Bývá hrozně těžké vysvětlit někomu mimo underground, jak mám rád živé koncerty. Slovy nelze vyjádřit napětí, drive, temnou energii, chlad, spoustu zvláštních emocí. Někdo vše vysvětluje adrenalinem, ale myslím, že je v tom něco víc. Poslouchám death metal více než třicet let. A stále mám sny. Třeba finské CORPSESSED jsem ještě na koncertě neviděl. A proto jsem byl velmi rád, když mi přišla na recenzi nová deska.

Nahrávalo se v Braincrusher na Hell Festivalu v Hirschaidu, v Německu, 22. listopadu 2022. Pustil jsem si doma hi-fi věž a ocitl se uprostřed davu. Mám tuhle smečku opravdu rád. Hraje zajímavě, je hodně slyšet, že pánové mají velký talent pro záhrobní věci. Jsem velmi spokojený, kývám se do rytmu, jako starý hrobník, tleskám po jednotlivých skladbách. 


Většinou se mi moc záznamy živých vystoupení nelíbí. Bývá to hlavně kvůli zvuku. Tentokrát jsem ale nadšený. Mistru Loic Fontainemu z Krucyator Studia se povedlo vytvořit masivní, hutný, surový a drsný zvuk, který tuhle kapelu charakterizuje. Vše je čitelné, nikde nic nepřebývá, nikde nic nechybí. Pochválit musím i obal, jehož autorem je Roni Ärling. Ten se přesně trefil do mého vkusu, černobílé kresby jsou podle mě stejně nejlepší. CORPSESSED mají velký dar napsat velmi dobré songy, které postupně gradují, mají v sobě sílu a nahrubo nasekanou tmu. Také zvláštní melancholii, tolik charakteristickou pro kapely z Finska. Pokud tyhle šílence neznáte a jste fanoušci třeba takových DISMA, CRUCIAMENTUM, KRYPTS, GRAVE MIASMA, INCANTATION, VORUM, FUNEBRARUM, tak si prosím doplňte hudební vzdělání. Líbí se mi, jakým způsobem pánové přistupují k hudbě. Je slyšet, že hrají od srdce, věřím jim každý tón, každou notu. Riffy mě pálí ve vnitřnostech, mozek se vaří ve vlastní šťávě. Zajdu si pro další pivo a i když jsem ve svém pokoji, tak je zde jen moje tělo. Mysl se toulá spolu s kapelou na Braincrusher in Hell Festivalu. Vedle mě stojí z jedné strany Smrt a z druhé Satan. Svět je najednou hodně temné místo a celý koncert připomíná více starodávnou seanci, než jen obyčejné vystoupení. O to víc lituji, že jsem nemohl vše zažít a o to víc si "Skeletal Grotesquery" užívám. Nahrávku vám mohu doporučit. Pokud jste jako já, neměli možnost vidět tyhle maniaky naživo, tak rozhodně neváhejte. Divoký, temný, rituální death metalový tanec mezi pavučinami!

It can be very hard to explain to someone outside the underground how much I love live shows. Words can't express the tension, the drive, the dark energy, the coldness, the many strange emotions. Some people explain it by adrenaline, but I think there's more to it than that. I've been listening to death metal for over thirty years. And I still have dreams. I've never seen Finnish CORPSESSED in concert before. And that's why I was very happy when I got a new record to review.

It was recorded at the Braincrusher at the Hell Festival in Hirschaid, Germany, on November 22, 2022. I turned on my hi-fi tower at home and found myself in the middle of the crowd. I really like this pack. The playing is interesting, you can hear a lot that the gentlemen have a great talent for the afterlife stuff. I'm very pleased, swaying to the beat like an old undertaker, clapping along after each song.


I don't usually like live performance recordings very much. It's mostly because of the sound. But this time I'm excited. Master Loic Fontana from Krucyator Studio managed to create a massive, dense, raw and harsh sound that characterizes this band. Everything is clear, nothing is missing, nothing is missing anywhere. I must also praise the cover artwork by Roni Ärling. He hit my taste exactly, the black and white artwork is the best in my opinion anyway. CORPSESSED have a great gift for writing very good songs that gradually graduate, have power and coarsely chopped darkness in them. Also a special melancholy, so characteristic of bands from Finland. If you don't know these madmen and you are a fan of the likes of DISMA, CRUCIAMENTUM, KRYPTS, GRAVE MIASMA, INCANTATION, VORUM, FUNEBRARUM, then please supplement your musical education. I like the way the gentlemen approach music. You can hear that they play from the heart, I trust them with every note, every note. The riffs make my guts burn, my brain boils in its own juices. I go for another beer and even though I'm in my room, it's just my body. My mind wanders with the band at the Braincrusher in Hell Festival. Next to me stands Death on one side and Satan on the other. The world is suddenly a very dark place, and the whole concert feels more like an ancient seance than a simple performance. I regret not being able to experience everything and enjoy "Skeletal Grotesquery" all the more. I can recommend the recording to you. If, like me, you haven't had a chance to see these maniacs live, definitely don't hesitate. Wild, dark, ritualistic death metal dance among the cobwebs!

Příběh čtyř stý šestý - Dobré duše

Je super, že cestujeme spolu. Jen je ve vlaku velká zima. Starý vagóny, kterým někdo říká dobytčák a jeden chlápek o nich dokonce mluví jako o těch, kterými vozívali Němci Židy do Osvětimi. Co je to zase za debila? Ptá se mě moje žena, ale já ji neslyším. Mám na uších sluchátka. Pouštím si Obituary a kývám hlavou do rytmu. Sundá mi je a zopakuje otázku. Nevím, cože? Vysvětlí mi náckovské řeči spolucestujícího. Je opilý a blábolí něco o tom, že nechápe, jak může mít taková hezká blondýna někoho tak nečistého, jako jsem já. Nejdřív nevím, která bije a pak mi dojde, že prostě jenom zapomněl. Lidé to dělávají. Pošlu ho do prdele a pak dokonce vykopu z kupé. Nevím, koho to zase napadlo vyrazit z Prahy vlakem. Autobusem je to do Jablonce o hodně rychlejší. To jsem vymyslela já, myslela jsem, že to bude pohodlnější. Ale co, usměju se a přijmu housku se salámem. Klepu se zimou, protože jsem předal svůj svetr gentlemansky svojí milé. Za ty zdvihnuté koutky u pusy a lesk v očích bych šel světa kraj. A tam umrzl.

Nácíček je posledním špatným člověkem, kterého celý víkend potkáme. Vystoupíme nahoře nad Jabloncem, jsou tu sklady uhlí a zrovna nakládají. Kolem se vznáší prach a z něj vylezou děsně vysmátí Venca a Petra. Jestli věříte takovým těm psychologickým poučkám, že si uděláte názor na člověka během několika prvních okamžiků, tak tady jsme si sedli všichni ihned. Dostaneme lahváče a moje milá všechny překvapí, že vypije půlku na ex. Dnes už by to nedala, protože je za dámu, ale tenkrát, to víte. Byli jsme mladí a nadšení do každé legrace a špatnosti. Venca mě obejme a pošeptá mi, ty vole to je nádherná ženská. Dmu se pýchou, protože na jeho názoru mi hodně záleželo. Sejdeme dolů do města, pak zase nahoru k radnici a tam v jedné hospůdce v podzemí ladíme formu na večer. Hele, na chalupu pojedete až zítra. Zatím si hodíte bágly k nám a zakalíme. Řekneme, že ano, co taky jiného. Zapálíme si a báníme a vedeme děsně světácký řeči. Ale děláme si samozřejmě prdel, jsme pořád oba z malých měst, nemáme zatím pražský manýry. Víte, aby měli čtyři lidi stejný smysl pro humor, to se jen tak nevidí.

Dnes by se řeklo, že se smějeme černým a nekorektním vtipům. Někdo, kdo nás nezná, by nás považoval i za sprosté. Předháníme se v hláškách a řehtáme se tak, že se jedna dvojice dokonce zvedne, kroutí nevěřícně hlavou a odejde. Výčepák nám řekne, že to jsou stejně debilové, že nechlastaj, že žerou nějaký kořínky nebo co a není z nich žádná útrata. To chudák ještě neví, že jednou po něm podobné věci budou vyžadovat všichni. Zatím je ale vše v pořádku. Dáme si gáblík, nacpeme se k prasknutí a pak jdeme do podkrovního bytu hned u náměstí. U dolního. Kolem tedy bydlí spousta cikánů, ale bydlení je to jako klícka. Petra zařizovala a my si děláme prdelky, když nám ukazuje nábytek. Mluví tak hrozně sexy slovensky, že s ní laškuju. Vše samozřejmě v rámci kamarádství. Jak vlastně vzniká přátelství? U kluků to chápu, ale také vím z vlastní zkušenosti, že se často rozkmotříme, když přijdou ženy. Řeklo se bez bab vole, tak proč ji pořád taháš sebou? Očividně ji to s náma nebaví? Znáte to? Tak to se nám nestalo. Tedy s Vencou a Petrou.

Vypráví nám, jak makají, jak ráno vstávají, jak dávají korunku ke korunce, jak chtějí budovat svůj život a vztah. Přijde i řeč na děti a v tom máme všichni jasno. Chceme je, jen co budeme mít kde hlavu složit. Ale dost filozofie, vás asi stejně nejvíc zajímá, jak jsme se opili. Tedy, bylo to mocné. Prolezli jsme nejdřív asi deset hospod, pak barů, tančili jsme v klubech, kam bych normálně nikdy nevlezl. Dělali jsme ostudu a nakonec vzali k ránu bágly a šli na chalupu. Ani nevím, co nás to popadlo. V pokojích je morna a přijde na nás soused, myslel si, že jsme zloději. Dám mu napít z lahve a řeknu mu, ty vole, už si viděl někdy zloděje, který krade brzy ráno? U sousedky zase zakokrhá kohout, probudí Vencu, který jen v trenýrkách vyběhne před chalupu, poblije mojí mámě záhonky (ten rok byla velká úroda) a snaží se zabít kohouta bačkorou. To zase probudí paní odvedle, která vyběhne se sekyrou a pokusí se zabít Vencu. 

Vše dopadne dobře, jen prý slepice, chuděry, několik dní nesnesou ani vejce. Náš hrdina usne a my se tlemíme, až se za břicho popadáme. Chvíli ležím v posteli u studených kamen, holky vedle mě a povídáme si. Nakonec chvilku zaberu, ale ne moc na dlouho, protože mi slečny zacpávají nos, já se dusím a nemůžu chrápat. Raději vstanu, seberu ze špajzu rum, co má máma do čaje (protože jí prý nechutná voda z kohoutku) a udělám si takovou tu vtipnou a milou hladinku. Jenže pak se nudím a začnu prudit. Nejdřív vzbudím Vencu, kterej se oklepe a nejdřív neví vůbec nic o slepicích, kohoutech, sousedech, ani pokusech o vraždu. Dáme pivo? Dáme. Musím ale do sklepa, kde uklouznu, narazím si záda a odřu lokty. Jsem já to ale nemehlo. Dnes bych mohl vydělat majlant, kdybych to sdílel s celým světem a všichni by se mi smáli. Jenže to tenkrát nejde, tak to jen všem říkám a ukazuju jim krev. Mám z toho děsnou srandu, až tedy do doby, než se probudí blondýnka, seřve mě, že bych mohl dostat sněť a vyčistí mi to kysličníkem. Naschvál u toho děsně řvu, aby bylo vidět, že jsem tejranej. 

Vezmeme do batohu lahváče a jde se na klasickou tůru na Černou studnici. Jdeme lesem, nikde ani živáčka, je brzy. Nám to ale nevadí. Děláme si jakože křížovou cestu, na každém zastavení si dáváme pivko a vedeme náboženský řeči. Petru to trošku nejdřív mrzí, protože je původně z katolický rodiny, ale když ji řeknu, že když je teď punkáč, tak by měla dělat rotyku, tak je pak jak padlá abatyše. Chybí snad už jenom kříž mezi nohama, fuj, co mě to napadá, to jen abyste věděli, jaký vznešený vtípky jsme měli. Poslední metry jdeme motokrosářskou dráhou, která je hodně příkrá. Po kamenech skáčeme jak kamzíci, lahváče nám cinkají v batozích a děvčata si chodí přičápnout do mlází. My jsme děsný démoni, protože čůráme do mraveniště, jakože prší vy volové, dělejte něco. Pak Vencu jeden červenej, nasranej mravenec kousne do lýtka a on zařve. V lese se nekřičí, buď rád, že tě nekousl jinak. Petra dodá: "Do kokota? To by ma mrzelo". Mě to přijde tak vtipný, že to říkám celou cestu a pořád to v různých situacích opakuji. 

Boucháme na dřevěné dveře boudy na vrcholku. Kurva, my chceme pivo. Kluci neblbněte, nikdo tu není. Ale je, ozve se okna nad námi. Tebe já znám, ty si dole ze vsi, že jo? Řeknu, že ano a on nám otevře. Tebe já pamatuju jako malýho, vy jste s klukama pěkně řádili. Nojo, bylo nás osm bratranců a byli jsme jak gang. Vzpomínáme. Cítím svoje kořeny. A je mi tu moc dobře. Narazí kvůli nám sud Plzně, protože jsme ta návštěva. Hele a až dostuduješ, budeš bydlet tady, u bábi? Podívám se na svoji budoucí ženu a ona přikývne. Škoda, že to nikdy nedopadlo. Ale to je jiný vyprávění. Zatím pijeme a jsme jak žoky. Dáme oběd, chodíme na záchod do vedlejší budovy, je nám zima. Večer se tu tancuje, doufám, že zůstanete. Kývneme hlavou na souhlas, co taky jiného. Přijdou místní, vzduchem létají hlášky. Dřevorubci, skláři, pár chalupářů. Je nám fajn. Muzikanti umí dokonce hrát a i když dávají samé profláklé kusy, k atmosféře to tak nějak krásně sedne. Venku fouká a když vylezete na chodbu, slyšíte meluzínu. Spustí se déšť a několikrát vypadne elektřina. Nám ale nevadí nic. Jen popíjíme, kecáme, tančíme ploužáky. Při jednom mi řekne Petra, jak nás má ráda. 

My tebe taky křepelko, máme chvilkovou alkoholickou filozofickou indispozici, kdy si potvrdíme, co si myslíme. Že se budeme vídat, že je super, že jsme se našli. Kdybyste nás viděli, aby by kolem nás byla aura, jak jsme zářili. Bolela mě huba od smíchu, blondýnka byla přítulná a pivo u mé ruky. Chyběl snad jen ten metal nebo aspoň rock. Ale to se dá přeci také zařídit, pánové a dámy, řekne mi výčepák, když si postesknu nad diskohity. Přijde za mnou zpěvák a cože bych si představoval. Dobře, jen přikývne a za hodinu mu musím poslat lahev rumu, protože hrály vypalovačky, Suchýho a Šitra, Voskovce, samý dobroty. Svíjíme se jako nějaký žížaly, Venca poguje a učí to i nějaký holky z Prahy. Já dělám headbanging na Když měsíc rozlije, světlo své po kraji. Končíme v rauši a musejí hrát pomalu, aby jsme neroztřískali celý sál. Strhneme totiž všechny. Starý i mladý. Jo, chlastávalo se to tenkrát na horách. Na závěr dáme ploužáčky a odmítneme nabídku přespání.

Možná jsme měli, protože venku je děsnej nečas. Nejdřív z prdele vyprávím, jak tu loni zařval nějaký chalupář na Silvestra, protože ožralej zabloudil a umrzl. Přidám i paní, původem Němku, co uklouzla na cestě před domem a našla ji až pošťačka na jaře. Je temno, hromy a sem tam blesk. Leje. Ale znám to tady jako vlastní boty, prolezl jsem jako malý, každý kout. Dělá mi i trošku dobře, že mi všichni věří. Jdeme, řeknu a vydáme se lepší cestou, než jsme sem šli. Držte se u mě, hlavně se nerozdělujte. Zabloudit můžete na pár metrech. Budete se motat v kruhu. Nasadím tempo. Vláčím za sebou blondýnku, za ní Petru a poslední jde Venca. Občas někdo blinká, ale jinak jdeme slušně. V chalupě je morna. Snesu spacáky, zachumláme holky, protože toho nemají moc na převlečení a pak usneme jako zabití. Netopíme, protože jak jsme chlastali, tak jsem nenasekal dříví, sorry. 

Dušinky moje, vstávejte, použiju slovní spojení mojí babičky. Udělám čaj a vyndám suchary. Sedíme u stolu, holky omačkaný a nenalíčený a stejně vám řeknu, že jsou krásný. Ona totiž ta nádhera jde zevnitř, z dobrých duší. Řeknu to Vencovi, když balíme. Podívá se na mě a řekne mi, že si myslí to samé. A taky, že je škoda, že jsme tak daleko. Chtěl bych tu zůstat. Opravit chalupu, koupit ji jen pro nás a zůstat tu navěky. Nikdy k tomu nedojde tak tam jezdím jen pracovat a číst si a procházet se a vzpomínat. Dolů jdeme přes kopce a když se loučíme na nádraží, máme slzy v očích. Všichni. Tak se tu opatrujte a pište dopisy. Což nikdy neuděláme. Raději zavolám z koleje a dáme zase nějaký sraz. Tohle byly nejlepší chvíle v počátcích našeho vztahu. Já vím, metal šel trošku stranou. I když, cestou zpět jsem zase poslouchal Obituary. Prý jsem se pořád usmíval. Co tě tak rozesmálo? Ptá se mě v hospodě u hlaváku v Praze moje milá. Ale, jen si říkám, jaké to je skvělé, když máš kolem sebe dobré duše. Dostanu velkou pusu. Heč.

Ave DIABOLICAL MESSIAH! Greetings to the Chilean underground! I admit that I was really looking forward to the new album "Satanic Alpha​-​Omega". I discovered your band in 2017, when you released the album "Demonic Weapons Against the Sacred". I have been following you since then and I must say that this year's album is really great. It seems faster, more bestial. Was that the purpose? Where did you want to move from the last recording?

A: Greetings Jackub Asphyx and Deadly Storm zine. It's been a long time since the release of “Demonic Weapons Against The Sacred” and of course there are many changes. In my opinion, they start with the sound. I don't know if Satanic Alpha-Omega is faster than the previous albums, but I’m 100% satisfied with the sound we achieved. We could achieved the weight in the music I was looking for beyond the speed in the music performance. Of course, speed is very important and essential in our songs, something that we have already defined. We needed to define the weight in the music.


We started with a question about the new album, but I'd like to ask you to introduce your band. I know the members are Erodes and Caesar, but you've been joined by Mario Vera on drums. Is he a permanent member of the band? Or what's it like? Could you please take us through the history of DIABOLICAL MESSIAH?

A: We are Diabolical Messiah, a band formed in 1999. At the beginning we were only Erodes and I. It was a time of creation of ideas while we were looking for a drummer. We recorded two different songs with two different drummers (one each). Those were promotional songs that helped us to introduce the band and our style, Death Metal. After that, we met Pilatvs and he played drums with us for about 15 years. We also had a session guitar player named Carcelero, who after a few years became our official guitar player. So, the line-up for the recording of our first demo "Diabolical Attack" was: Caesar: Vocals, Bass and Guitar; Erodes: Guitar; Carcelero: Guitar; Pilatvs: Drums. After this we recorded the albums "Satan Tottendemon Victory!!!"; "Demonic Weapons Against The Sacred"; and the last album "Satanic Alpha-Omega" (2023). Our last drummer, Mario Vera, played in other bands too, so for that reason we parted ways.

The artwork for the new album "Satanic Alpha-Omega" was created by Jorge Soto from Chile. If I'm not mistaken, someone else did the cover for the last album? Or am I wrong? Why Jorge? How did you two get together? Personally, I really like his dark covers.

A: JxBarker (Jorge Soto) is an artist who uses different techniques to make cover arts. Some time ago he came to live in the same area where I live, so I decided to talk to him because of the recommendations I had heard. As we lived quite close, we were able to work closely looking at all the details of the cover art. For this album (Satanic Alpha-Omega) I wanted to make a cover different from the other albums, a cover not so direct but more conceptual, without falling into the extreme of the metaphor. Something conceptual that can be read easily and I'm sure we achieve that. Only JxBarker worked in the cover art, even the photo was modified by him. I’m very happy because I interpret it as the beginning and the end of the images shown there, order and chaos, life and death.


Your music is demonic, dark, ritual. You play death metal, but you will also find pieces of black metal in it. Where do you get inspiration from? And how do you create new songs for DIABOLICAL MESSIAH? How is the process of creating a new song?

A: I don't intend to be influenced by the Black Metal style, but I listen to it a lot. Bands such as Immortal, Dark Throne, Mayhem, Inquisition, etc... are bands of my taste and maybe that taste is reflected in some riffs, but as I said before, I don't try to make a Death-Black mix. Our thing is Death Metal.

Who took care of the sound? Where did you record the album and who is responsible for mixing and mastering? Did you change the approach, the process in any way compared to the last record? I feel like the new one is more dark, more crazy, more massive.

A: This album have been much more elaborated than the two previous ones and any other recording we have ever done. Satanic Alpha-Omega was recorded at "Estudios del Sur", a professional studio where you have everything you need to make a record. The person in charge of the recording was Ignacio Portales. I thank him very much for his knowledge, experience and the great patience he had to work with. The recordings were made in two 8-hour days, enough time to even add some more ideas. Sincerely, working at “Estudios del Sur” has been so far the best experience I've had when it comes to recording. The mixing was done by Erik Brisso at Equinox Media, a studio in our city that have very good reviews for its very good equipment. Despite the problems with time, I was very satisfied with the final mix. Mastering was done by Dan at Resonance Sound Studio. Dan asked me for references to have a clear idea of the sound I was looking for and the result was a very heavy and massive sound. Unlike the second album "Demonic Weapons Against the Sacred", "Satanic Alpha-Omega" was a recording, mixing and mastering process that involved different sound engineers with different points of view, experiences, and equipment, resulting in a collaborative rather than a one-person mix.. For the same reason I hope to repeat this formula in some future work.


The chapter itself is the lyrics. I must admit that I am very pleasantly surprised. Satanism, war, death! Well done! What sources did you draw inspiration from? And who is the author?

A: The topics you mention have always been a big influence in our band, I would need to add one more, anti-Christianity. I think these topics are the main ideology of the Death Metal style, and I'm convinced that I don't need more inspiration than our reality to offend and defy the imposed christian society and religious system in general.

What about you and concerts? Do you prefer small clubs or big stages at festivals? Can you think of a particularly successful concert, event or tour? What do live performances mean to you?

A: We don't have a favorite kind of gig. We have played in small venues with a small audience and larger venues with tons of metalheads. Since our music has a good promotion and there are also people who know our band in foreign countries we like to play outside our country. Successful? I don't really know, I like touring with the band. We haven't done it for a long time and the simple fact of playing abroad is an excellent motivation and goal to achieve. Europe would be again an excellent goal.


The Chilean extreme metal scene has always been interesting to me. I know a lot of great bands from you. I would love to visit your beautiful country. I watch documentaries at least. Here in the Czech Republic we are mostly atheists, maybe because of the socialism we experienced. How do you feel about faith? And how are your views imprinted in the music of DIABOLICAL MESSIAH? How does Christianity influence life in your country?

A: In my country fucking church and fucking religion has been a shitty piece of shit. They used to get into everything, in any political issue needed to be discussed, they were giving their opinion and advice. Our political leaders looked like (until recently) a parade of pussies taking the opinion of religious people at state planning tables. Nowadays, religious influence in the social, economic and political issues of our country is not relevant. People are realizing how rotten this garbage called religion is. Nowadays, many rotten politicians go to these sects to collect votes for future elections. A big surprise for me is many extreme metalheads have ideals that use politics and Christianity as a base.

What about the Chilean underground? With DIABOLICAL MESSIAH, do you get space in the media, magazines, concerts? And what about the fans? Do they support you, buy merchandise, go to concerts? You are a big country, do you have in France some area where it "lives the most" ?

A: The Chilean underground scene is very active. After the COVID-19 restrictions, it has returned heavily. Our band is supported by the scene in general, either in the media or live shows. Regarding the sale of musical material this is relative as the market is not as wide as one would like to be. Santiago, the capital of Chile, is the place where most of the shows and festivals take place because it’s the most populated city of mu country.


I'm always interested in how musicians perceive the style of music they play. What does death metal mean to you? How do you "feel" it? Like a lifestyle, expressing bad and ugly things through music? What do you really want to express with your music?

A: I don't know if it's a lifestyle, but for sure it’s something important in my life because I don't find an explanation to continue working and cultivating a musical style that generates economic losses and non-economic personal achievements (to at least self-manage the band). We are not a bunch of bootlickers asking to be part of some important show or festival. Yes, I can say it is already part of my life, because as I explained before because it produces a personal satisfaction to see reflected and captured on CD, 12", or tape everything I learned in terms of performance.
