Když vyjede do boje starý rezavý tank, tak si všichni říkají, že přežije v současné době jen pár chvil. Technologie jsou dávno někde jinde. Jenže je zde pověstné jenže. Zkušenosti z boje, nasazení, odhodlání a duch temnoty se nedají ničím nahradit. Prošli si ohněm bitev a viděli tisíce mrtvých. Moc dobře vědí jaká je atmosféra války a moc dobře také vědí, jak se hraje death metal. AS THE WORLD DIES jsou zcela novou kapelou, sestavenou z čety zkušených vojáků temnoty.
Kolem cesty jsou na kůlech nabodnuty lebky tvých kamarádů. Pod nohama ti křupou kosti a krev je každodenním společníkem. Vytvořit hudbou tmu, znázornit stíny, je těžké již ze své podstaty. Z novinky "Agonist" cítím velkou sílu. Energii načerpanou ze starých katakomb.
Na pevných surových základech smrtícího kovu jsou vystavěny košaté kompozice. Album není jen vzpomínkou na staré dobré časy se skvělých mrazivým zvukem, ale také osvěžujícím vichrem v podobě atmosférických ploch. Vše sedí na svých místech. Riffy se mi zadírají postupně pod kůži, vokál bolí a pálí a smrt je hodně blízko. Dobře postaráno bylo i o obal a celkovou produkci. Pro mě, jako pro starého fanouška záhrobí, je hrozně příjemné zahynout pod pásy tohoto rezavého tanku. Máte rádi kapely jako BOLT THROWER, GRAVE, MASSACRE, BENEDICTION. MEMORIAM? Pak neváhejte ani chvilku. Tahle deska vás rozseká, přikove na zeď řetězy ukovanými z té nejkvalitnější death metalové oceli. AS THE WORLD DIES jsou jako přízraky, které se každou noc vrací válečným veteránům. Procházíš se po mnoha letech na místech, kde probíhaly v devadesátých letech ty nejkrvavější bitvy a vzpomínáš. Do země, do kamenů jsou otištěny bolestivé zážitky. Pořád cítíš v ústech pachuť devadesátých let minulého století, kdy se bojovalo v podobném stylu. Byli jsme kdysi nakaženi, prokleti a uhranuti. Jsem tomu rád, jinak bych si nahrávku tolik nevychutnal. Má v sobě esenci toho nejlepšího, co mám na tomhle stylu tolik rád. Rezavý, chladný death metal, který vás rozdrtí na prach! Smrt!

The skulls of your friends are impaled on stakes around the road. Bones crunch under your feet and blood is your daily companion. Creating darkness through music, embodying shadows, is inherently difficult. I feel a great power from the new "Agonist". Energy drawn from the old catacombs.
On the solid raw foundations of the deadly metal are built flamboyant compositions. The album is not only a throwback to the good old days with great freezing sounds, but also a refreshing breeze in the form of atmospheric surfaces. Everything fits into place. The riffs get under my skin gradually, the vocals hurt and burn and death is very close. The artwork and overall production has been well taken care of as well. For me, as an old fan of the afterlife, it's awfully nice to die under the belts of this rusty tank. You like bands like BOLT THROWER, GRAVE, MASSACRE, BENEDICTION. MEMORIAM? Then don't hesitate a moment. This record will shred you, nail you to the wall with chains forged from the finest death metal steel. AS THE WORLD DIES are like ghosts that return to war veterans every night. You walk around after many years in the places where the bloodiest battles took place in the nineties and you remember. Painful experiences are imprinted in the earth, in the stones. You can still taste in your mouth the aftertaste of the 1990s, when similar battles were fought. We were once infected, cursed and bewitched. I'm glad, otherwise I wouldn't have enjoyed the record so much. It has the essence of the best of what I love so much about this style. Rusty, cold death metal that will crush you to dust! Death!
