Určitě znáte takové ty krásné záběry, u kterých je klidné městečko během několika minut zničeno nějakou živelnou pohromou. Tsunami, vichřice, povodně, požár nebo rozzuřený dav, je to vlastně jedno. Měl bych pro vás dnes další zcela zničující záležitost. Masakrující brutální a technický death metal v podání kanadské legendy CRYPTOPSY. Kapely, která je opět zcela zničující, devastující a šílená.

Pánové šli vždy za hranu, s chutí překračovali hranice. Pokud vám něco říkají termíny jako trepanace lebky nebo vyvrhnutí vnitřností zaživa, asi víte, o čem píšu. Stačilo několik prvních tónů a hned jsem věděl, že tihle maniaci jsou stále ve skvělé formě. Posledním veteránem v kapele je Flo Mounier, který opět dokazuje, že má v rukou a nohou dynamit. 


Veškerá práce téhle smečky je vždy extrém. Vše probíhá ve stylu kapel jako SUFFOCATION, DEEDS OF FLESH, BROKEN HOPE, IMMOLATION, MORBID ANGEL, GORGUTS, ORIGIN, a spousty dalších. I když v tomto případě je jakékoliv přirovnání trošku troufalé. Kanaďané totiž patří k těm, kteří tento styl zakládali a byli u jeho počátků. Všechny songy jsou velmi heavy, měl jsem při každém setkání neodbytný pocit, že na mě padá lavina z kostí, kamení a zkažené krve. Zvuk (Christian Donaldson - producer, mixing, mastering), obal (Paolo Girardi) i další "formální" věci jsou samozřejmě v nejlepším pořádku. Je sice fakt, že bych si dovedl představit trošku živelnější a špinavější produkci, ale to je jen drobnost. Zkrátka a jednoduše, pokud máte tenhle styl rádi, neváhejte ani chvilku. Budete nadšeni! Osobně si pokaždé připadám, že padám do obrovského mlýnu na maso, který mě rozseká na malé kousky, pak rozdrtí a spálí na popel. CRYPTOPSY odvedli letos vynikající morbidní práci. Nepřinášejí sice nic nového, ani převratného, ale album rozhodně není jen dobrým řemeslem z povinnosti. Naopak, songy jsou velmi živé, bolestivé. Nahrávka mě chytla za vlasy a vytřela si se mnou podlahu. Utopila mě ve špinavé kaluži z krve a nenávisti. Líbí se mi energie, vztek, nakumulovaná nenávist, které jsou obsaženy ve velké míře. Myslím si, že je vlastně zbytečné cokoliv dalšího dodávat, lepší bude, když si novinku poslechnete a to pořádně nahlas. Jen si dávejte pozor, aby vám neurvala hlavu i s páteří. Brutální, technická death metalová pohroma, po které zůstává jenom spálená země!

I'm sure you know those beautiful shots where a peaceful town is destroyed by a natural disaster in a matter of minutes. Tsunami, storm, flood, fire or angry mob, it doesn't really matter. I have another completely devastating issue for you today. Massacring brutal and technical death metal by Canadian legend CRYPTOPSY. A band that is once again completely devastating, damaging and insane.

The gentlemen have always gone over the edge, crossing boundaries with gusto. If terms like skull trepanning or evisceration alive mean anything to you, you probably know what I'm writing about. The first few notes were enough and I knew right away that these maniacs were still in great shape. The last veteran in the band is Flo Mounier, who once again proves he has dynamite in his hands and feet.


All this pack's work is always extreme. Everything is in the style of bands like SUFFOCATION, DEEDS OF FLESH, BROKEN HOPE, IMMOLATION, MORBID ANGEL, GORGUTS, ORIGIN, and many more. Although in this case any comparison is a bit presumptuous. The Canadians are one of the founding fathers of this style and were at its beginnings. All the songs are very heavy, I had an insistent feeling of an avalanche of bones, stones and bad blood falling on me every time I met them. The sound (Christian Donaldson - producer, mixing, mastering), cover (Paolo Girardi) and other "formal" things are of course in the best order. It's true that I could imagine a bit more lively and dirty production, but that's just a small thing. In short, if you like this style, don't hesitate a moment. You will be delighted! Personally, I always feel like I'm falling into a giant meat grinder that will chop me into small pieces, then crush me and burn me to ashes. CRYPTOPSY did an excellent morbid job this year. They don't bring anything new or groundbreaking, but the album is definitely not just good craftsmanship out of duty. On the contrary, the songs are very vivid, painful. The record grabbed me by the hair and wiped the floor with me. It drowned me in a dirty pool of blood and hate. I like the energy, the anger, the accumulated hatred that is contained in great measure. Actually, I think it's unnecessary to add anything else, it's better if you listen to the news, and listen it out loud. Just be careful that it doesn't blow your head and spine off. A brutal, technical death metal disaster that leaves nothing but scorched earth!

Jsou dny, kdy vůbec nevycházím ven. Za každým rohem totiž číhá zlo. Stačí si přečíst zprávy. Dav rabující v ulicích. Stávka řezníků a shnilé maso, povalující se všude kolem. Hnus a špína, nenávist a temnota. Takovou hudbu si dám do hlavy vždycky rád. Narvu si ji do uší. Kývám se do rytmu, beru do rukou kladivo a konečně můžu ven. Mezi rozzuřené bestie. Nasadím sluchátka a v nich mi hraje nové album legendárních DYING FETUS.

Už jsem to psal mnohokrát. Tahle smečka mě bavila na konci devadesátých let minulého století. Pak jsem ji přestal na dlouhou dobu sledovat. S minulou nahrávkou "Wrong One to Fuck With" (2017) (odkaz na recenzi je dole pod článkem) mám ale znovu pocit, že mi jejich hudba koluje v žilách. Pánové se i letos vrátili a jsou silnější než kdy dřív. 


Baví mě hlavně živý a organický zvuk (Steve Wright - producer, recording, Mark Lewis - mixing, mastering). Mám pocit, že se kapela svým způsobem vrátila k tomu, co dělala vždy nejlépe. Poctivou řezničinu, kombinovanou s brutálním death metalem a grindem. Letos se povedl i obal (Daniel McBride), který jen potvrzuje má slova o tom, že se jedná o návrat do starých dobrých časů. Ze skladeb slyším takovou tu ryzí, poctivou práci. Pánové z Baltimore už asi nepřijdou s ničím novým. To je ale přece v nejlepším pořádku. Proč měnit něco, co funguje? Koneckonců, všem fanouškům jde hlavně o to, skočit do mosh-pitu a vyčistit si hlavu od současného divného světa. Chtěl jsem být původně trošku víc kritický, ale nejde to - album mě prostě baví a hotovo. To je bez debat. "Make Them Beg for Death" je určeno pro všechny, kteří mají rádi tlak a energii. Nakumulovaný vztek a nenávist, vypálené do songů. Znáte to, kdyby víc lidí poslouchalo DYING FETUS, bylo by nám všem krásně. Nechali by veškerou frustraci dole pod pódiem. U téhle desky budete mlátit hlavou do stolu, boxovat do vzduchu a pokud bude poblíž nějaké zeď, tak ji zbouráte. Podepisuji vám vlastní krví, že tohle je pořádná jízda. Někdo musel poslední roky polít kapelu mrtvou vodou, jinak si to nedovedu vysvětlit. Jsou dny, kdy vůbec nevycházím ven. Za každým rohem totiž číhá zlo. Stačí si přečíst zprávy. Dav rabující v ulicích. Stávka řezníků a shnilé maso, povalující se všude kolem. Hnus a špína, nenávist a temnota. Totální, absolutní brutal death metal grindová destrukce lidské mysli!

There are days when I don't go out at all. There's evil lurking around every corner. Just read the news. A mob looting in the streets. Butchers on strike and rotten meat lying around. Filth and filth, hatred and darkness. That's the kind of music I always like to put in my head. I put it in my ears. I sway to the rhythm, pick up the hammer and finally I can get out. Among the angry beasts. I put on my headphones and the new album from the legendary DYING FETUS plays.

I've written this many times before. I was into this bunch in the late '90s. Then I stopped following them for a long time. But with the last release "Wrong One to Fuck With" (2017) (link to the review is at the bottom of the article), I have the feeling of their music running through my veins again. The gentlemen are back again this year and they are stronger than ever.


I enjoy especially the live and organic sound (Steve Wright - producer, recording, Mark Lewis - mixing, mastering). I feel that the band has, in a way, returned to what they have always done best. Honest butchery, combined with brutal death metal and grind. This year the cover artwork (Daniel McBride) was also great, which only confirms my words about this being a return to the good old days. I can hear such pure, honest work from the songs. I guess the gentlemen from Baltimore won't come up with anything new. That's all right, though. Why change something that works? After all, all fans want to do is jump into the mosh pit and clear their heads of the weird world we live in now. I originally wanted to be a bit more critical, but I can't - I just enjoy the album and that's that. No question about it. "Make Them Beg for Death" is for everyone who likes pressure and energy. Accumulated anger and hatred, burnt into songs. You know, if more people listened to DYING FETUS, we'd all be fine. They'd leave all their frustration under the stage. With this record, you'll bang your head on the table, box in the air, and if there's a wall nearby, you'll knock it down. I'll sign in my own blood that this is a hell of a ride. Someone must have been throwing dead water on the band for the last few years, otherwise I can't explain it. There are days when I don't go out at all. There's evil lurking around every corner. Otřel čepel nože. Byla od krve. Od lidské krve. Rozhlédl se kolem sebe a usmál se. Dnes odvedl dobrou práci. Tenhle invazní druh, který škodí planetě, je nutné zničit. Už to nešlo dál. Příliš mnoho zla, příliš mnoho temnoty. Vypadal přesně tak, jak si jej všichni představovali. Měl děsivou tvář, jako někteří staří bohové. Byl nemilosrdný a krutý. Vetřelec z vesmíru, který si ke své krvavé práci pouštěl jenom dobrý brutální death metal. Dnes zvolil novinku od maniaků ATOLL z USA.

Omlouvám se, ale s tvorbou kapely se setkávám poprvé. A jsem velmi mile překvapený. Jedná se o přesně takový ten druh brutality v hudbě, která vám vystřelí mozek z hlavy. Velmi dobře zahrané, s masivním, hutným a zabijáckým zvukem. Žádné kompromisy, žádné zbytečnosti. Jenom smrt, bolest a utrpení. Doporučují všichni vetřelci!


Mám pocit, že na mě padá lavina z kostí a lebek. Skladby jsou napsány velmi přesvědčivě, zajímavě. Troufám si tvrdit, že naživo to musí být totální šílenství! Klasické, tradiční postupy, ale zahrané tak, že je mě baví poslouchat. Nic pro slabé povahy, tady se odehrává reálná pitva ještě živých těl. ATOLL vám vyrvou vnitřnosti z těla! Líbí se mi i určitá nadsázka, kterou z hudby cítím. Mimochodem, podívejte se na youtube na klipy, stojí rozhodně za to. Ono vůbec, grafika alba je vynikající, stejně jako produkce. Kapela opravdu působí, jako by nebyla z tohoto světa. Pokaždé, když "Human Extract" poslouchám, tak před sebou vidím děsivé, morbidní obrazy. Odehrává se přede mnou hnusný, krvavý film, který se mi ihned dostane pod kůži. Stejně jako tahle deska, která vás nenechá chvilku v klidu. Je to nakumulovaný vztek, energie, obrovský tlak. Novinka má navíc takovou zvláštní, podmanivou atmosféru, známou ze starých jatek nebo piteven. Mocný vokál, riffy ostré jako skalpely, devastující bicí, no řekněte, co víc si přát? Myslím si, že každý fanoušek tohoto stylu musí být spokojen. Je pro mě velmi příjemné se kývat do rytmu. Se sekyrou v ruce. Album je, v rámci žánru, opravdu pestré. Pořád se něco děje, songy tepou jako srdce někoho, kdo zažil velký šok. Dívám se do tmy a tuhne mi krev v žilách. Vztek, touha zbourat další překážku. Přesně takhle se cítím, když novinku poslouchám stále dokola. Otřel čepel nože. Byla od krve. Od lidské krve. Rozhlédl se kolem sebe a usmál se. Dnes odvedl dobrou práci. Žádné kompromisy, žádné zbytečnosti. Jenom smrt, bolest a utrpení. Brutální death metalový útok!

He wiped the blade of the knife. It was covered in blood. Human blood. He looked around and smiled. He'd done a good job today. This planet-damaging invasive species must be destroyed. It couldn't go any further. Too much evil, too much darkness. He looked exactly as everyone imagined him. He had a terrifying face, like some of the old gods. He was ruthless and cruel. An alien from outer space who only played good, brutal death metal to do his bloody work. Today, he chose the new stuff from the maniacs ATOLL from the USA.

I apologize, but this is the first time I've encountered the band's work. And I am very pleasantly surprised. This is exactly the kind of brutality in music that will blow your brains out. Very well played, with a massive, dense and killer sound. No compromises, no uselessness. Just death, pain and suffering. Recommended by all intruders!


I feel like an avalanche of bones and skulls is falling on me. The songs are written very convincingly, interestingly. I dare say that live it must be total madness! Classic, traditional methods, but played in a way that I enjoy listening to. Nothing for the faint hearted, this is a real autopsy of still living bodies. ATOLL will rip the guts out of your body! I also like a certain exaggeration I feel from the music. By the way, check out the clips on youtube, they are definitely worth it. Anyway, the album art is excellent, as is the production. The band really seems out of this world. Every time I listen to "Human Extract" I see eerie, morbid images in front of me. There's a nasty, gory movie playing out in front of me that immediately gets under my skin. Just like this record, which won't leave you in peace for a while. It's accumulated anger, energy, tremendous pressure. Moreover, the novelty has a strange, captivating atmosphere, familiar from old slaughterhouses or abattoirs. Powerful vocals, scalpel-sharp riffs, devastating drums, you name it, what more could you ask for? I think every fan of this style must be satisfied. I find it very enjoyable to sway to the beat. With an axe in my hand. The album is, within the genre, really varied. There's always something going on, the songs beat like the heart of someone who's had a big shock. I look into the darkness and my blood runs cold. The rage, the desire to tear down the next obstacle. That's how I feel when I listen to a new song over and over again. He wiped the blade of the knife. It was covered in blood. Human blood. He looked around and smiled. He did a good job today. No compromises, no waste. Just death, pain and suffering. A brutal death metal attack!

Každý den jsme konfrontováni s takovým množstvím násilí, že jsme už dávno otupěli. Parta chlapů, která kope do ležící oběti, znásilnění, válka, smrt, zabití. Sledujeme s napětím seriály o sériových vrazích, fascinují nás vůdci, kteří nechali zničit celé národy. Někde uvnitř nás je stále zvířecí temnota, vztek a nenávist. Dejte lidem absolutní moc a roztrhají vás na kusy. Nemám recept na zlepšení, neumím dát zasvěcenou radu. Jedno ale vím moc dobře. Pokud poslouchám dobrou muziku, vyčistím si u ní mozek od zlých myšlenek, od současné nadprodukce zbytečných informací.

Německé ORPHALIS jsem poprvé viděl až na koncertě, který proběhl v rámci festivalu Transcending Obscurity v Praze. Ještě ten den v noci jsem si doma o nich dohledal informace. A zjistil jsem, že kapela hraje již od roku 2010 a má na svém kontě tři dlouhohrající alba. Letos přicházejí se čtvrtým, které mi přišlo již před několika měsíci na recenzi. Na obrazovce zrovna někoho stahovali z kůže. Vypnul jsem internet a pustil si "As The Ashes Settle". Moje myšlenky začaly ihned létat v časoprostoru a já si tenhle technický, progresivní brutální death metal začal neskutečně užívat. Vyrve vám totiž všechny vnitřnosti z těla. 

Je to tak, svět není černobílý a občas mám pocit, že začíná díky médiím a sociálním sítím převažovat to zlé a ošklivé. Vážím si potom každé chvíle, kdy mohu poslouchat podobné desky, jako je ta od ORPHALIS. Víte, jsem starý pes, který se převážně pohybuje v trošku jiných vodách. V technickém death metalu si hodně vybírám a musím říct, že tohle album mě ihned rovnou uhranulo. Přpadal jsem si jako vetřelec z vesmíru, který se po dlouhých letech přiletěl podívat na Zemi. Jak jste ji mohli takhle zničit? V přehrávači mám "As The Ashes Settle", u kterého oceňuji absolutně zničující zvuk, majestátní obal (Adam Burke). Hlavní je pro mě samozřejmě hudba, která kolem mě nejdříve létala jako morbidní představy, pak se dostala do mé mysli a vystřelila mi mozek z hlavy. Pánové se pohybují ve stejných oblastech, jako kapely typu PSYCROPTIC, BENIGHTED, ABORTED, SUFFOCATION, CRYPTOPSY, NECROPHAGIST, SPAWN OF POSSESSION. Jedná se o takový ten druh velmi propracovaného, inteligentně složeného smrtícího kovu, který vám způsobí nejdřív zástavu srdce a teprve až po nějakém čase oceníte jednotlivé pasáže a nuance. Němci jsou techničtí, ale zároveň nezapomínají na to, že základem je vždy dobrá skladba. Songy hoří jasným plamenem, jsou opravdu spalující, šílené, divoké a devastující, jako celý dnešní svět. Zároveň, a to je pro mě velmi důležité, mě hrozně baví je poslouchat. ORPHALIS nám pomocí své hudby nastavují zrcadlo. A dělají to velmi surově, nekompromisně a zároveň elegantně. Mocný, masivní technický brutální death metal, který se dostane do vaší mysli! Masakr!

Every day we are confronted with so much violence that we have long since become numb. A bunch of guys kicking a lying victim, rape, war, death, killing. We watch with suspense serial killers, we are fascinated by leaders who have had entire nations destroyed. Somewhere inside us there is still animal darkness, rage and hatred. Give people absolute power and they will tear you apart. I don't have a recipe for improvement, I can't give insider advice. But one thing I know very well. If I listen to good music, it clears my brain of bad thoughts, of the current overproduction of useless information.

I saw German ORPHALIS for the first time at a concert during the Transcending Obscurity festival in Prague. That same night at home I looked up information about them. And I found out that the band has been playing since 2010 and has three full-length albums to their credit. This year they are coming up with a fourth one, which I received a few months ago for review. They were just skinning someone on the screen. I turned off the internet and put on "As The Ashes Settle". My thoughts immediately started flying through space-time and I began to enjoy this technical, progressive brutal death metal beyond belief. It will rip your guts out of your body.


It's true, the world is not black and white and sometimes I feel like the bad and ugly is starting to prevail thanks to the media and social media. I cherish every moment when I can listen to records like ORPHALIS. You know, I'm an old dog who mostly walks in slightly different waters. I have a lot of choice in technical death metal and I have to say that this album immediately had me hooked. I felt like an alien from outer space who came to see the Earth after many years. How could you destroy it like that? I have "As The Ashes Settle" in my player and I appreciate the absolutely devastating sound, the majestic cover art (Adam Burke). The main thing for me, of course, is the music, which at first flew around me like morbid fantasies, then got into my mind and blew my brains out. The gentlemen are in the same areas as bands like PSYCROPTIC, BENIGHTED, ABORTED, SUFFOCATION, CRYPTOPSY, NECROPHAGIST, SPAWN OF POSSESSION. This is the kind of highly sophisticated, intelligently composed death metal that will first cause you to have a cardiac arrest and only after some time will you appreciate the individual passages and nuances. The Germans are technical, but at the same time they don't forget that the essence is always good composition. The songs burn with a bright flame, they are really scorching, crazy, wild and devastating, like the whole world today. At the same time, and this is very important for me, I enjoy listening to them. ORPHALIS hold up a mirror to us with their music. And they do it in a very raw, uncompromising and elegant way. Powerful, massive technical brutal death metal that gets into your mind! Massacre!

Když zazněl první poplach, nikdo ho nebral vážně. Většina si dělala legraci. Teď tu leží na hromadě a připomínají morbidní loutky. Hnijící maso, vytřeštěné oči, plné údivu. Přijít o život bylo vždy velmi jednoduché, ale tentokrát se to stane pomocí starého brutálního death metalu. Objevil jsem na svých toulkách po pitevnách skvělou kapelu. To jsem řekl svému kamarádovi, který také poslouchá tento styl od devadesátých let minulého století. Jako bychom se vrátili zpět, do staré nemocnice, kde řádí po chodbnách pořádně nadržená sestřička.

Vypadá velmi sexy, stejně jako hudba, kterou produkuje tahle smečka. A také vás postupně zabije. Shnijete zaživa a budete se kroutit bolestí. Tady se totiž hraje opravdově, syrově, krutě a nekompromisně. Nasadťe si plynové masky a poslouchajte pořádně nahlas. Jenom tak si můžete vychutnat tuhle pitvu, po které nezůstane živý vůbec nikdo. 


Jsem starý pes a první, co mě vyloženě uhodilo do ksichtu, tak je zvuk. Hergot, přátelé, tohle mi nedělejte. Málem mi praskla hlava a vyletěl mozek z hlavy. Je vynikající! Starý, prašivý, hnusný a ošklivý. Jako samotná smrt. Podepsáni jsou pod ním pánové Will Killingsworth (mastering) a Xander Bridge (mixing). Stylový je i obal od mistra Coltera Massona. Povedené dílo, které chci mít ve své sbírce (vychází na kazetě, CD i vinylu). Máte rádi staré DISGORGE, DEEDS OF FLESH, GORGASM, PATHOLOGY, BRODEQUIN? Potom se zde hraje i pro vás. Skladby jsou ostré jako skalpel a pánové se s ničím moc nepářou. Rozsekají vás na malé kousky. Já vím, nemusíte mi nic říkat, v dnešní době se hraje úplně jinak. Technicky, s plastovou produkcí. NUCLEAR REMAINS jsou ale jiní, odlišní a to se mi moc líbí. Novinku poslouchám s takovou tou zvrácenou radostí, kterou jsem míval jako mladý kluk, když jsem seděl s kamarádem u hi-fi věže a mohli jsme si umlátit hlavu o zeď. Bývaly to skvělé časy, které se asi už nikdy nevrátí. I když, zrovna tahle smečka je natolik dobrá, že ve mě dokáže probudit ty nejlepší vzpomínky. "Dawn of Eternal Suffering" je jako pohřeb do studené země, jako jaderná katastrofa, která může každou chvíli vypuknout. Lidé jsou na to stále dost hloupí. Než se tak stane a nějaký maniak zmáčkne červené tlačítko, budu tuhle nahrávku poslouchat stále dokola. Udělejte to také tak!  Tohle je album pro opravdové, poctivé fanoušky hnisu, špíny a absolutní temnoty. Starý, morbidní brutální death metal, který vám způsobí smrt ozářením!

When the first alarm sounded, no one took it seriously. Most people were joking. Now they're lying here in a heap, looking like morbid puppets. Rotting flesh, eyes bulging, full of wonder. It's always been easy to lose your life, but this time it's gonna happen with some brutal old death metal. I discovered a great band on my wanderings through the autopsy rooms. I told a friend of mine who has also been listening to this style since the 1990s. It's like going back to the old hospital, where there's a really horny nurse running the halls.

She looks very sexy, and so does the music this bunch produces. And it will also gradually kill you. You'll rot alive and writhe in pain. This is real, raw, cruel and uncompromising. Put on your gas masks and listen up. It's the only way to enjoy this autopsy that leaves no one alive.


I'm an old dog and the first thing that really hit me in the face was the sound. Damn it, folks, don't do this to me. My head almost exploded and my brains blew out. It's delicious! Old, dusty, ugly and nasty. Like death itself. Signed by Will Killingsworth (mastering) and Xander Bridge (mixing). The cover artwork by the master Colter Masson is stylish. A fine piece of work that I want to have in my collection (released on cassette, CD and vinyl). Do you like old DISGORGE, DEEDS OF FLESH, GORGASM, PATHOLOGY, BRODEQUIN? Then this is the place for you too. The songs are as sharp as a scalpel and the gentlemen don't mess with anything too much. They'll chop you up into little pieces. I know, you don't have to tell me, it's so different these days. Technically, with plastic production. But NUCLEAR REMAINS are different, diverse and I like that a lot. I listen to new music with that twisted joy I used to have as a young boy, when I used to sit with my friend at the hi-fi tower and we could beat our heads against the wall. It was a great time that will probably never come back. Although, this particular pack is good enough to bring back the best memories. "Dawn of Eternal Suffering" is like a funeral to a cold country, like a nuclear disaster that could erupt at any moment. People are still stupid enough for that. Until that happens and some maniac hits the red button, I'm going to listen to this record over and over again. Do that too! This is an album for true, honest fans of pus, filth and absolute darkness. Old, morbid, brutal death metal that will make you die of exposure!

Měl bych určit způsob smrti, ale tentokrát mám problém. Na hromadě leží kusy rozsekaných těl. Pomíchané ruce a nohy, mozky vystřelené z hlavy, vnitřnosti vyhřezlé ven. Nikdy si na ten pohled nezvyknu. Hejna much a zápach, po kterém se každému ihned zvedne žaludek. Stále dokola si pokládám otázky, kdo to mohl udělat? Odpověď nepřichází, protože viníkem jsou obyčejní lidé jako já a nebo ty. Jen se ocitli uprostřed války a na povrch vylezly jejich temné myšlenky. Hoď kamenem, kdo jsi bez viny.

Pokaždé, když mě zaujme nějaká brutální death metalová kapela, tak si vzpomenu na děsivé dokumenty z jedné ze světových válek. Kývám se do rytmu, vychutnávám si morbidní melodie a přemýšlím, kolik způsobů zabíjení ještě lidé vymyslí. Hlavou mi poletují šílené obrazy a oceňuji temnotu i chlad, se kterými DEAD AND DRIPPING přišli. Třetí dlouhohrající album v řadě, třetí zářez přímo do živého. 


"Blackened Cerebral Rifts" je velmi surovým albem. Mám pocit, že jsem na starých opuštěných jatkách, která sice byla před lety uzavřena, ale do zdí je stále otištěn nářek obětí. Jediným členem téhle šílené kapely je Evan Daniele, který je podepsán pod všemi nástroji i vokálem. Jedná se o zkušeného maniaka, který nepodcenil vůbec nic. Skvělý obal od Jasona Wayne Barnetta vás uvede do kruté hry, zalknete se masivním, hutným a prašivým zvukem a necháte si vpíchnout do žil jednotlivé skladby. Tohle album je devastující jízda ve stylu WORMED, DEMILICH, DEFEATED SANITY, SUFFOCATION, BRUTALITY, MONSTROSITY, MORTAL DECAY, OBSCENITY. Nenašel jsem na desce žádné slabé místo. Naopak, mozek se mi uvařil ve vlastní šťávě, maso odpadalo od kostí a když jsem byl nakonec přikován ostrými riffy na zeď, zemřel jsem v ukrutných křečích. DEAD AND DRIPPING mě přesvědčili na svoji stranu. Měl jsem často pocit, že se zalykám zkaženou krví. Poslech oceníte především, pokud jste fanoušci žánru, ale myslím, že osloví i ostatní. Jedná se o extrém, ale velmi dobře zahraný. Songy jsou propracované, mají v sobě potřebnou dávku špíny, hnisu a vzteku. V některých momentech jsou možná moc dlouhé, ale to berte jen jako názor člověka, který toho slyšel už tolik, že mu to někdy leze z hlavy ven. Jako celek je "Blackened Cerebral Rifts" skvělou příležitostí vyčistit si myšlenky od všeho zlého. Až zase půjdu ohledávat mrtvoly, vezmu si tohle album s sebou. Je totiž krutým obrazem nás samých. Mocné, zničující, kruté, masakrující, brutální death metalové šílenství!

I should determine the manner of death, but this time I have a problem. There are pieces of dismembered bodies lying in a pile. Arms and legs scrambled, brains blown out of their heads, intestines spilling out. I'll never get used to the sight. swarms of flies and a smell that makes everyone sick to their stomach. I ask myself over and over again, who could have done this? The answer doesn't come because the culprits are ordinary people like me or you. They just found themselves in the middle of a war and their dark thoughts came to the surface. Throw a stone, who are you without blame.

Every time a brutal death metal band catches my attention, I think of horrific documentaries from one of the world wars. I nod to the beat, enjoy the morbid melodies and wonder how many more ways of killing people will come up with. Crazy images fly through my head and I appreciate the darkness and coldness that DEAD AND DRIPPING came up with. The third long-playing album in a row, the third notch right into live.


"Blackened Cerebral Rifts" is a very raw album. I feel like I'm in an old abandoned slaughterhouse that may have been closed years ago, but the wailing of the victims is still imprinted on the walls. The only member of this crazy band is Evan Daniele, who is signed to all the instruments and vocals. This is a seasoned maniac who hasn't underestimated anything. The great cover art by Jason Wayne Barnett will put you in the cruel game, you'll get soaked by the massive, thick and dusty sound and let each track inject itself into your veins. This album is a devastating ride in the style of WORMED, DEMILICH, DEFEATED SANITY, SUFFOCATION, BRUTALITY, MONSTROSITY, MORTAL DECAY, OBSCENITY. I didn't find any weak point on the album. On the contrary, my brain was cooked in its own juices, the flesh was falling off the bones and when I was finally pinned to the wall by sharp riffs, I died in violent convulsions. DEAD AND DRIPPING convinced me to their side. I often felt like I was gagging on bad blood. You'll especially appreciate listening to this if you're a fan of the genre, but I think it will appeal to others as well. It is an extreme, but very well played. The songs are sophisticated and have the requisite amount of filth, pus and rage. They may be too long at some points, but just take that as the opinion of someone who has heard so much that it sometimes gets out of his head. As a whole, "Blackened Cerebral Rifts" is a great opportunity to clear your mind of all the bad stuff. When I go looking for dead bodies again, I'll take this album with me. It's a cruel picture of ourselves. Powerful, devastating, cruel, slaughtering, brutal death metal madness!

A few questions - interview with brutal death metal band from Australia - DRIPPED.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

My name is Ewan and Im on Guitar, Brad - Guitar, Will - Vocals, Jared - Bass, Vlad - Session Drums. We are Dripped and we are from Perth, Western Australia. We play Brutal Death Metal. Or Slamming Brutal Death to some.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The new album was recorded not long after the EP had released, I had written most of it already but had to wait sometime before Vlad was able to record drums. I did the Guitars and Bass, and recorded Wills vocals also at my house. I then sent the album to Sam Marwick at Slam Machine Studios for Mixing and Mastering.


How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

Im not sure exactly how many copies were produced, but the album so far is only available on cd, digital downloads and streaming on all platforms. Our label (Ungodly Ruins Productions) is situated in Russia, so times are hard for them right now as far as merch production goes.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Will is responsible for most of the lyrics, I wrote a couple and helped edit the rest. We were mainly focused on the rise and fall of humanity, and the need to worship some form of monolithic totems for no good reason. Very dystopian approach to civilisation and religion and the need to reproduce as a race.


Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Our friend, Vad, from Ungodly Ruins Productions designed the logo for us. He also takes care of our graphics, while I run our own merch site and socials. Social media has been vital to promoting our music, though it can be overwhelming with many other bands to contend with as far as promotion goes. Im on the fence when it comes to spotify, its very handy for getting our music out there, but I think bands can benefit from Bandcamp more.


Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

Ungodly Ruins Productions (Russia). I have worked with this label for 10 years now so I feel a sense of loyalty to Vad and his label. Ive had previous albums released with Ungodly so it was just right to do so. Its been a great learning curve for both of us I think. Im very satisfied with Vads work, and hopefully the current status in Russia will dissipate sooner than later so we can continue this great partnership.


Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

So many bands to choose from, Gorgasm, Visceral Bleeding, Spawn of Possession, Cannibal Corpse, Cryptopsy.. Inspirations for Dripped though were Inherit Disease, Putridity, Disgorge, Defeated Sanity, Disentomb, Molested Divinity and Devangelic.. basically any brutal death metal band.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

I didnt really need to. I think I sent 3 songs to Vad at Ungodly and he was immediately interested in releasing the ep. And so far the response to Dripped has been amazing.


How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

About 15 gigs now we've played. All in Australia so far of course. Clubs or festivals we dont mind either. We just finished up a tour with our friends in Putrescent Seepage from South Australia, we definitely played some of our best shows whilst with them, and probably one of worst haha.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Weve just released an album and completed a tour, so we will pump the brakes a little bit as far as performing goes. But I am well into the next EP for Dripped. So hopefully not too long between releases this time. We would love to travel overseas sometime soon also, maybe we can get in touch with promoters and organise some trips/tours in the future?!

Díval se do jejích očí a fascinoval ho její pohled. Právě jí prořízl hrdlo. Krev pomalu stékala po cukajícím těle. Dělal na jatkách celý život, ale pokaždé se v podobných chvílích zasnil. Jaké to asi je, pomalu umírat? Bolí to? Existuje život po životě nebo jsme jen kusy masa, které skončí rozložené v zemi? Fascinovala jej bolest a utrpení. Měl doma sbírku hnusných filmů a také neodbytný pocit v hlavě. Slyšel hlasy, zlé a děsivé hlasy. Nejhorší je, že se nikdy z téhle noční můry neprobudil.

Stejně jako mnou popisovaný kus šíleného hororu, je i brutální death metal určený převážně jenom pro fanoušky stylu. Ostatním přijde příliš rychlý, nekompromisní. Na australské DRIPPED jsem narazil vlastně náhodou. Jako první mě zaujal obal (Inhumar Flesh Media), který je opravdu nádherně morbidní. Desku jsem si pustil a ztratil se ve špinavé stoce plné mrtvých těl a zkažené krve.


Australané vás vyvrhnou zaživa. Vytáhnou vám střeva z břicha a vystřelí mozek z hlavy. Nová deska je šílenou jízdou přímo do pekla, rovnou na patologii. Pokud máte rádi smečky jako PUTRIDITY, CONDEMNED, DISGORDE a podobné kapely, které kombinují chlad, temnotu a zběsilý smrtící kov, bude se vám líbit i to, co hrají DRIPPED. Pánové vám vypálí cejch s logem kapely rovnou na kůži. Skladby jsou napsány s jediným účelem. Totálně vás zničit! Popraskají vám všechny kosti v těle. Pro poslech doporučuji obléknout zástěru, kterou nosí zkušení řezníci. Jinak budete špinaví od zkažené krve a kusů shnilého masa. Pánové pitvají s elegancí starých patologů. Deska není určena pro slabé povahy, v určitých momentech je i trošku monotónní, ale to je možná způsobeno tím, že poslouchám velké množství hudby. Jinak je vše v nejlepším pořádku. Líbí se mi masivní, krutý a dynamický zvuk, který si zachovává čitelnost a syrovost (Sam Marwick, Slam Machine Studio). Tihle šílenci ale nejsou další stejně hrající skupinou v řadě. Naopak, zaujali mě svým přístupem. Je slyšet, že pevně věří své kruté práci. Po řemeslné stránce je vše v nejlepším pořádku. Navíc mám velkou chuť na syrové maso, na další pitvu, na hnusný hororový film. Díval se do jejích očí a fascinoval ho její pohled. Právě jí prořízl hrdlo. Krev pomalu stékala po jejím těle. Dělal na jatkách celý život, ale pokaždé se v podobných chvílích zasnil. Jaké to asi je, pomalu umírat? Teď už to vím, je to hodně podobné, jako poslouchat "Rituals of the Red Sun". Brutální, hladová death metalová bestie, která vás roztrhá na kusy! Zkažené maso, hozeného přímo do ksichtu!

He looked into her eyes and was fascinated by her gaze. He had just cut her throat. The blood slowly trickled down her twitching body. He'd worked in slaughterhouses all his life, but he'd always fallen asleep at times like this. What must it be like to die slowly? Does it hurt? Is there life after life or are we just pieces of meat that end up decomposing in the ground? He was fascinated by pain and suffering. He had a collection of crappy movies at home, and also an insistent feeling in his head. He heard voices, evil and terrifying voices. Worst of all, he never woke up from this nightmare.

Like the piece of insane horror I described, brutal death metal is mostly for fans of the style only. Others find it too fast, too uncompromising. I came across Australian DRIPPED by accident. The first thing that caught my attention was the cover art (Inhumar Flesh Media), which is really beautifully morbid. I put the record on and got lost in a filthy sewer full of dead bodies and rotten blood.


The Australians will eviscerate you alive. They'll pull your guts out of your stomach and blow your brains out of your head. The new record is a mad ride straight to hell, straight to pathology. If you like bands like PUTRIDITY, CONDEMNED, DISGORDE and similar bands that combine coldness, darkness and furious death metal, you will also like what DRIPPED play. The gentlemen will burn a brand with the band's logo right on your skin. The songs are written with one purpose. To totally destroy you! They'll crack every bone in your body. To listen, I recommend wearing an apron worn by experienced butchers. Otherwise you'll be filthy with rotten blood and pieces of rotten meat. The gentlemen dissect with the elegance of old pathologists. The record is not for the faint hearted, it is even a bit monotonous at certain points, but that may be due to the fact that I listen to a lot of music. Otherwise everything is in the best order. I like the massive, harsh and dynamic sound that retains clarity and rawness (Sam Marwick, Slam Machine Studio). But these madmen aren't the next band in line playing the same way. On the contrary, they have impressed me with their approach. You can hear that they firmly believe in their harsh work. Craft-wise, everything is in the best order. Plus, I'm in a big mood for raw meat, for another autopsy, for a nasty horror movie. He looked into her eyes and was fascinated by the look in her eyes. He'd just slit her throat. Blood was slowly trickling down her body. He'd worked in slaughterhouses all his life, but he'd always fallen asleep at times like this. What must it be like to die slowly? Now I know, it's a lot like listening to "Rituals of the Red Sun". A brutal, hungry death metal beast that will tear you apart! Rotten meat thrown right in your face!

Fantazii se meze nekladou. Bolest je přeci nekonečná. Maso odtrhané od kostí, vnitřnosti spálené na popel. Představte si staré plesnivé kobky. Slabé světlo, chlad v duších. Je to šílené. Modlíš se, aby ti půjčili brokovnici. Chceš si vystřelit mozek z hlavy, chceš už dávno přejít na druhou stranu. Měl bych pro tebe lepší nápad. Co takhle klasický brutální death metal? A když vám řeknu, že členy kapel TORTURED jsou zkušení maniaci, kteří moc dobře ví, o čem tehle styl je?

Jedná se o první dlouhohrající album kapely. Zároveň také o kus mokvajícího, shnilého masa. Tahle hudba má v sobě velkou spoustu temné energie, tlaku a bolesti. Již při prvním poslechu kývám souhlasně hlavou a říkám si, že přesně takhle by to mělo vypadat. Žádné zbytečnosti, žádné kompromisy. Jenom krutá a hnusná smrt. 


Představte si bazén plný zkažené krve. Jestli to ještě nevíš, tak si další na řadě. Připrav se a zapni play! Zažijete neskutečné. Divoké, perfektně propracované bicí (Frank Smith), vokál hladové bestie (Flo Butcher) a riffy, u kterých vám popraskají všechny kosti v těle (Oscar Ortega). Tohle všechno dohromady působí jako přesně seřízený stroj na zabíjení. Pochválit musím zvuk (Alexander Borovykh) i stylový obal (Jon Zig). Pokud jste fanoušci stylu, tak rozhodně neváhejte. Dostanete zde poctivou porci shnilého masa, který vám bude podáván velmi elegantně. I zabíjet hudbou se musí umět a tihle vzteklí psi jsou mistří ve svém oboru. Stylově se pohybují pánové ve stejné stoce, jako kapely typu BEHEADED, DISAVOWED, STABBING, GORGASM, PYREXIA. Zkrátka a jednoduše, jestli jste někdy viděli záběry z tsunami, tak asi víte, o čem píšu. Pokud jste, stejně jako já, znechuceni stavem dnešního světa a chováním lidí, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Tahle smečka vám pročistí hlavu tou nejkvalitnější kyselinou. Modlíš se, aby ti půjčili brokovnici. Chceš si vystřelit mozek z hlavy, chceš už dávno přejít na druhou stranu. Měl bych pro tebe lepší nápad. Narvi si do uší "Genetically Engineered Monstrosity" a uvidíš, že se ti uleví. Poslouchat tuhle desku je jako se dívat na smrt v přímém přenosu. Je šílená, maniakální, neurvalá a smrdí zkaženým masem. Syrový, totálně zničující brutální death metal, který vám vystřelí mozek z hlavy! Budete umučeni k smrti!

There are no limits to imagination. The pain is endless. Flesh torn from bone, entrails burned to ash. Imagine old, moldy dungeons. The dim light, the chill in their souls. It's crazy. You pray they lend you a shotgun. You want to blow your brains out, you want to cross to the other side. I got a better idea for you. How about some classic brutal death metal? And if I tell you that the members of TORTURED are experienced maniacs who know very well what this style is all about?

This is the band's first full-length album. It's also a piece of soggy, rotten meat. There's a lot of dark energy, pressure and pain in this music. Upon first listen, I'm already nodding my head in agreement and thinking that this is exactly what it should be like. No frills, no compromises. Just cruel and ugly death.


Imagine a pool full of bad blood. If you don't already know, you're next. Get ready and turn on the play! You're about to experience the unreal. Wild, perfectly detailed drums (Frank Smith), hungry beast vocals (Flo Butcher) and riffs that will crack every bone in your body (Oscar Ortega). All of this together feels like a precisely tuned killing machine. I must praise the sound (Alexander Borovykh) and the stylish cover (Jon Zig). If you're a fan of style, definitely don't hesitate. You'll get a fair portion of rotten meat here, served up very elegantly. Even killing with music takes skill, and these rabid dogs are masters of their craft. Stylistically the gentlemen are in the same sewer as bands like BEHEADED, DISAVOWED, STABBING, GORGASM, PYREXIA. In short, if you've ever seen footage of a tsunami, you probably know what I'm writing about. If you, like me, are disgusted with the state of the world today and the way people behave, then don't hesitate for a moment. This bunch will clear your head with the finest acid. You're praying they lend you a shotgun. You want to blow your brains out, you want to cross over to the other side. I got a better idea for you. Stick "Genetically Engineered Monstrosity" in your ears and you'll feel better. Listening to this record is like watching death live. It's insane, manic, unhinged and reeks of rotten meat. Raw, totally devastating brutal death metal that will blow your brains out! You will be tortured to death!
