Díra, navrtaná do hlavy, měla původně uvolnit tlak uvnitř lebky. Jenže způsobila akorát to, že se z něj stala zombie. Stroj z masa a kostí, stroj na zabíjení. Chodil ulicemi, s hlavou skloněnou, stejně jako většina dnešní společnosti a kolem umírali lidé. Působil úplně stejně, jako nová nahrávka amerických maniaků LANGUISH.

Kombinace starého plesnivého death metalu a grindcore, pokud je dobře zahrána, vždy vypadá jako drtička kostí. Američané umí svoje řemeslo na výbornou. A navíc přidávají pořádnou porci temnoty, špíny a nekonečného chladu. 


Fanoušci třeba takových NAPALM DEATH, CARCASS, MORBID ANGEL, ale třeba i SARCÓFAGO, budou určitě spokojeni. Dostanou smrtící koktejl vysoké kvality. Parádní zvuk, spoustu morbidních nápadů, tohle všechno dohromady dělá album, které si s chutí pokaždé rád pustím. A to pořádně nahlas. Opravdu si připadám, že mi někdo navrtal do hlavy díru, opravdu mám pocit, že držím v ruce výbušnou směs. Stačí jen zapálit oheň a všechno kolem lehne popelem. Stejně jako po "Feeding the Flames of Annihilation". Je to zkázonosný masakr, vlna tsunami, která se vám zadře hluboko pod kůži. Pokaždé, když mám plné zuby světa kolem mě, pokaždé, když se podívám na večerní zprávy - poslouchám novinku na plné pecky. Brutální, agresivní, krvelační, takoví jsou LANGUISH. Vypláchnou vám mozek kyselinou, pohřbí vás zaživa a stále budete s chutí tančit v mosh pitu. Album bylo vydáno minulý rok v říjnu a jediné co mě mrzí je, že jsem se k němu nedostal dříve. Má v sobě totiž vše potřebné pro pořádnou pařbu v márnici. Díra, navrtaná do hlavy, měla původně uvolnit tlak uvnitř lebky. Jenže způsobila akorát to, že se z něj stala zombie. Stroj z masa a kostí, stroj na zabíjení. LANGUISH vás vyvrhnou zaživa! Grind death metalová apokalypsa!

The hole drilled in the head was originally intended to relieve pressure inside the skull. But all it did was turn him into a zombie. A machine of flesh and bone, a killing machine. He walked the streets, head down, like most of today's society, and people died all around him. He looked exactly like the new record by American maniacs LANGUISH.

The combination of moldy old death metal and grindcore, when played well, always looks like a bone crusher. Americans know their craft very well. And they add a good portion of darkness, dirt and endless cold.


Fans of such bands as NAPALM DEATH, CARCASS, MORBID ANGEL, but also SARCÓFAGO, will definitely be satisfied. They will get a deadly cocktail of high quality. A great sound, a lot of morbid ideas, all this together makes an album that I'll be happy to listen to every time. And loud. I really feel like someone drilled a hole in my head, I really feel like I'm holding an explosive mixture in my hand. All you have to do is light a fire and everything goes up in flames. Just like after "Feeding the Flames of Annihilation". It's a devastating massacre, a tsunami that digs deep into your skin. Every time I get fed up with the world around me, every time I watch the evening news - I listen to the news at full volume. Brutal, aggressive, bloody, that's what LANGUISH are. They'll brainwash you with acid, bury you alive and still make you want to dance in a mosh pit. The album was released last October and my only regret is that I didn't get to it sooner. Viděl jsem už mnoho zranění, ale tohle bylo nějaké divné. Začalo se objevovat stále častěji. Puklá lebka a vyhřezlý mozek. Nemohl jsem stále přijít na diagnózu, trápil jsem se s tím a bál se dalšího dne. Bylo to jak nějaká choroba, začínající epidemie. Pak jsem jednou večer navštívil malý zaplivaný bar. Ve tmě tam smrděla síra. Na malém pódiu stála kapela DOLGREY a drtila svoje skladby.

A pokaždé, když byla v nejlepším, tak nějakému šílenci, který normálně neposlouchá extrémní metal, praskla lebka. Mozek vytekl na podlahu a nebožák tančil dál. Jako by byl zasažený elektrickým proudem. Až do úplného vyčerpání, až do úplné smrti. Nedivím se, hudba měla v sobě černou jiskru a velký tlak. Pro nás, staré psy, radost poslouchat, pro slabé jedince smrtící záležitost. 


Tahle jízda se odehrává v death punkovém stylu. Vzpomeňme na kapely jako ENTOMBED, NIHILIST, MAMMOTH GRINDER, BASTARD GRAVE, BOMBS OF HADES, CARNAGE. Těch přirovnání můžete mít samozřejmě více, ale nechme je stranou. Důležitý je hlavně tlak, špína a hnis, které ze skladeb doslova cákají na všechny strany. Jak asi všichni víme, život v temnotě není lehký a podobné smečky nám pomáhají přežít. V dnešním zkaženém a děsivém světě. Vyvrhnout a přelámat všechny kosti v těle. O to jde nejvíce! A DOLGREY se to daří na výbornou. Samozřejmě, v rámci stylu, rozhodně se nejedná o nic převratného a některé songy jsou možná až příliš dlouhé, ale jinak je vše v absolutním pořádku. Zvuk, obal, provedení. Navíc, desku mě baví opravdu poslouchat. Jinak bych koneckonců o kapele nenapsal ani řádek. Představte si nějakého šílence, který vběhne do márnice s výbušninou v ruce. Už tak napjatá situace se změní v ještě víc devastující. Vzduchem létají staré prašivé kosti, lebky se kutálejí po zemi a riffy je drtí na prach. Myslím, že netřeba dále popisovat, lepší bude, když dáte hlasitost na maximum a uslyšíte sami. Ozvěny ze záhrobí! Death crust punk metal masakr!

I've seen a lot of injuries, but this was some weird one. It started showing up more and more often. A fractured skull and a dislocated brain. I still couldn't come up with a diagnosis, I was struggling and scared for the next day. It was like some kind of disease, a beginning of an epidemic. Then one night I visited a seedy little bar. It smelled of sulphur in the dark. There was a band called DOLGREY on a small stage, playing their songs.

And every time it was at its best, some lunatic who doesn't normally listen to extreme metal cracked his skull. Brains spilled out onto the floor and the poor guy kept dancing. Like he'd been electrocuted. To the point of exhaustion, to the point of death. No wonder the music had a black spark and a lot of pressure. A joy for us old dogs to listen to, a deadly affair for the weak.


This ride is in the death punk style. Think of bands like ENTOMBED, NIHILIST, MAMMOTH GRINDER, BASTARD GRAVE, BOMBS OF HADES, CARNAGE. You can have more comparisons of course, but let's leave them aside. What is important is the pressure, the dirt and the pus that literally splashes out of the songs in all directions. As we probably all know, life in the dark is not easy and bands like this help us survive. In today's wicked and scary world. To eviscerate and break every bone in the body. That's what it's all about! And DOLGREY is doing a great job of it. Of course, in terms of style, it's certainly nothing groundbreaking and some songs are perhaps a bit too long, but otherwise everything is absolutely fine. The sound, the cover, the performance. Moreover, the album is really fun to listen to. Otherwise I wouldn't write a single line about the band. Imagine a madman running into a morgue with an explosive in his hand. An already tense situation turns even more devastating. Dusty old bones flying through the air, skulls rolling on the ground, riffs pulverising them. I don't think I need to describe further, you'd better turn the volume up to maximum and hear for yourself. Echoes from beyond the grave! Death crust punk metal massacre!

Když jsme před několika lety dělali s kapelou rozhovor, tak mi basák a vokalista Ronnie Ripper řekl jednu krásnou větu: "Metal byl vždy únikem z mizerného všedního života." Hodně jsem nad ní přemýšlel a zůstala vypálená v mé hlavě jako cejch. Vnímám hudbu úplně stejně. Možná právě proto jsem velkým fanouškem téhle smečky. Pokaždé se těším na pátek, až vypadnu z práce, sednu si doma do křesla, dám volume doprava až na hranu snesitelnosti a pivo poteče proudem. 

"Alpha Beast, Omega God" je další jízdou přímo do pekla. Surová, syrová deska, bez jakýchkoliv zbytečností a ozdob. Riffy jsou ohlodány na kost a probouzejí ve mě démony. Najednou jsem v malém klubu za městem, na sobě mám džínovou bundu přes křiváka a tančím do rytmu. Hergot, přátelé, tahle deska zase řeže tou správnou stranou nože!


Základem je samozřejmě stále chřestivý švédský death metal, spousta punku a rebelie. TURBOCHARGED letos působí jako rozzuřená, naštvaná šelma, která byla několik let zavřená v kleci. Řetězy jsou znovu roztrženy a vy si můžete vychutnat skvělý devastující zvuk, podívat se na klasický obal a narvat si album pod tlakem do hlavy. Osobně se mi nejvíc líbí, že si kapela na nic nehraje, jde rovnou na věc a zůstává po ní jenom krvavá stopa. Pro páteční restart unavených mozků po náročném pracovním týdnu ideální záležitost. Poprosil bych o další pivo. Ze všech stran na nás útočí jed a špína. Raději se zavírám do své kobky s "Alpha Beast, Omega God" a těším se, až si jednou zatančím na svém vlastním hrobě. Vidím před sebou dav v mosh-pitu. Vlasy létají vzduchem, lidé se točí v kruhu. Emoce, frustrace, vztek. Jsem zde správně! Na pódiu stojí nesvatá trojice muzikantů a sází do nás songy jako dávky z kulometu. Teď už to mohu napsat naplno - TURBOCHARGED jsou ve skvělé formě! Připadá mi, že jsem s nimi ve starých kobkách, někdy v devadesátých letech, kdy jsem byl mladý, šílený a existoval pro mě jenom metal, holky a chlast. Pánové v sobě mají poctivého rock´n´rollového ducha. A to oceňuji nadevše! Death thrash punk metal, který vás rozdrtí na prach!

When we interviewed the band a few years ago, bassist and vocalist Ronnie Ripper told me one beautiful line, "Metal has always been an escape from the misery of everyday life." I've thought about it a lot and it's burned into my mind like a brand. I feel the same way about music. Maybe that's why I'm a big fan of the pack. I always look forward to Fridays when I get off work, sit in my chair at home, turn the volume right up to the edge of bearable, and the beer flows.

"Alpha Beast, Omega God" is another ride straight to hell. A raw, raw record, with no frills or embellishments. The riffs are gnawed to the bone and bring out the demons in me. Suddenly, I'm in a small club outside of town, wearing a denim jacket over a curve and dancing to the beat. Damn, folks, this record is cutting with the right side of the knife again!


Of course, the basis is still rattling Swedish death metal, with a lot of punk and rebellion. This year TURBOCHARGED looks like an angry, pissed-off beast that has been locked in a cage for a few years. The chains are broken once again and you can enjoy the great devastating sound, look at the classic cover art and shove the album under pressure into your head. Personally, what I like most is that the band doesn't play games, gets straight to the point, and leaves only a trail of blood. For a Friday restart of tired brains after a hard working week, the perfect thing. I'd ask for another beer. Poison and filth are attacking us from all sides. I'd rather lock myself in my dungeon with "Alpha Beast, Omega God" and look forward to dancing on my own grave someday. I see the crowd in front of me in mosh-pits. Hair flying through the air, and people spinning in circles. Emotion, frustration, and anger. I'm right here! An unholy trinity of musicians stands on stage, blasting songs at us like machine gun shots. Now I can write it fully - TURBOCHARGED is in great shape! I feel like I'm in the old dungeons with them, sometime in the 90s, when I was young, and crazy and only metal, girls, and booze existed for me. The guys have an honest rock'n'roll spirit. And I appreciate that above all! Death thrash punk metal that will crush you to dust!

Procházíš se lesem sebevrahů a přemýšlíš, jaký by sis zvolil způsob. Provaz nebo nůž? Jed nebo střelná zbraň? Už dávno tě zachvátila temnota horší než smrt. Díváš se do zrcadla a přemýšlíš, proč ještě žít. Osamocen v davu, v nekonečném smutku. Bolestivé vzpomínky, kdy nastane čas? Ne, teď ještě ne. Musíš si nejdřív poslechnout novou desku STRIGOI. Přichází mráz a myšlenky na sebevraždu odcházejí.

Četl jsem nedávno o jednom muži, kterého hudba zachránila. Osobně si myslím, že "Viscera" je přesně tím druhem nahrávky, která dokáže člověka probudit z podivného stavu mezi naším a oním světem. Je snovým zážitkem, který zabíjí noční můry. Alespoň tak vnímám desku já, starý metalový pes. Je příjemné se zase jednou dívat do tmy.


Greg Mackintosh (PARADISE LOST), Chris Casket (EXTREME NOISE TERROR), Guido Zima za bicími. Sešli se zde vynikající muzikanti, kteří museli své druhé album nahrávat ve starých katakombách. Jsou v nich pochována zubožená těla sebevrahů. Opuštěná ve své nekonečné samotě. Pánové opět kombinují death metal, doom, crust a dělají to velmi zajímavým způsobem. Jakoby mi někdo hodil do obličeje kus syrového masa. Songy jsou neskutečně uvěřitelné, drásavé, šílené. Připadám si jako oběť, které jsou do hlavy postupně zatloukány rezavé hřeby. "Viscera" je jako zlým snem, přízrakem, který se vám nikdy nepodaří zabít. Podmanivý, chladný a černý zvuk, děsivý motiv na obalu. Ale hlavně spousta zajímavých, ostrých nápadů, které se vám zadřou pod kůži. STRIGOI vás spoutají do pavučin. Vystoupili znovu z krvavých stínů. Pohřbili nás zaživa do hromadných hrobů. Daleko za hřbitovní zdí, do míst, kam jsou ukládání všichni prokletí. Jednou se možná rozpadneme v prach, ale než se tak stane, budeme poslouchat podobnou hudbu. Dodává nám totiž sílu a energii. "Viscera" je černým stínem, opusem temnoty. Vynikající záležitost pro všechny fanoušky dlouhých stínů. Hnis, špína a mráz! Tajemný, magický, mystický černý obřad!

You're walking through a forest of suicides, wondering which way you'd choose to go. A rope or a knife? Poison or firearm? You've long been gripped by darkness worse than death. You look in the mirror and wonder why you're still alive. Alone in the crowd, in endless sorrow. Painful memories, when will the time come? No, not yet. You have to listen to the new STRIGOI album first. The frost is coming and the thoughts of suicide are going away.

I read recently about a man who was saved by music. Personally, I think "Viscera" is exactly the kind of record that can wake a person up from the strange state between our world and the next. It's a dreamlike experience that kills nightmares. At least that's how I, an old metal dog, perceive the record. It's nice to look into the darkness once again.


Greg Mackintosh (PARADISE LOST), Chris Casket (EXTREME NOISE TERROR), Guido Zima on drums. The musicians who had to record their second album in the old catacombs were excellent. The mutilated bodies of suicides are buried in them. Abandoned in their infinite solitude. The gentlemen again combine death metal, doom, crust and do it in a very interesting way. It's like someone threw a piece of raw meat in my face. The songs are incredibly believable, gut-wrenching, and insane. I feel like a victim with rusty spikes gradually being driven into his head. "Viscera" is like a bad dream, a phantom you'll never be able to kill. The haunting, cold and black sound, the eerie motif on the cover. But most of all, lots of interesting, sharp ideas that get under your skin. STRIGOI will bind you in the webs. They've stepped out of the bloody shadows again. They buried us alive in mass graves. Far beyond the cemetery wall, in the places where all the damned are placed. Someday we may crumble into dust, but before that happens, we'll be listening to similar music. For it gives us strength and energy. "Viscera" is a black shadow, an opus of darkness. An excellent affair for all fans of long shadows. Rot, dirt, and frost! A mysterious, magical, mystical black ceremony!

Recenze/review - SACCAGE - Charogne (2022)

Bolest někdy přichází ve vlnách. Její příčinu znám. V současné době je nás mnoho. Nedokážeme pojmout obrovské množství negativních informací, které jsou všude kolem nás. Hledáme temný kout. Bojíme se světla a jsme ozáření zlem. Městem se plouží lidé bez duše. Nikdy nenajdou klid, nikdy nezemřou. Pálí je mozek, chce vyskočit z hlavy. Mnozí mají rozdrásaný obličej. Do krve, ze strachu. Ze strachu z nás samotných. 

Pomáhá snad jenom alkohol a dobrá muzika. Jednu takovou desku, kterou doporučují všichni metaloví lékaři, bych pro vás měl. Nové EP kanadských tmářů SACCAGE. Thrash metal, black, crust. Hromada polámaných kostí, lebky rozdrcené na prach. Konečně jsme našli klid. V moshpitu!


"Charogne" je jako rána kladivem přímo do obličeje. Jízda do pekla na ohnivém koni. Procházím se po spálené zemi a přidávám neustále hlasitost. Oceňuji skvělý, syrový a surový zvuk. S chutí se dívám na obal, chtěl bych jej mít na tričku. Kanaďané jsou divocí, šílení, zběsilí. Jako démoni z dávných dob, kteří se přišli pomstít. Skladby jsou napsány stylem starých mistrů a baví mě je poslouchat. Po světě chodí spousta podobných smeček, ale SACCAGE v sobě mají víc temnoty a umí napsat songy, které nemůžu vyhnat z hlavy. Připadám si jako Pinhead, s rezavými hřeby, zatlučenými do hlavy. Mám velkou chuť navštívit malý klub za městem, kam chodí staré dobré zombie. Posadit se, dát si pár piv a jenom nasávat atmosféru. Ta je v podání téhle kapely shnilá, prašivá, temná a chladná. Připomíná návštěvu opuštěných katakomb, ve kterých jsou pohřbeni padlí kněží. Mám chuť na pořádný kus mokvajícího masa! Dívám se do tmy a mrazí mě v zádech. Mám vztek na celý zkažený svět. Zachránit mě může jenom muzika, jenom alba, jako je "Charogne". Je to moje první setkání s touto kapelou a nemám žádné připomínky. Tady se hraje od srdce, poctivě, se šílenou černou jiskrou v oku. Spalující black thrash crustová jízda do pekla!

Pain sometimes comes in waves. I know its cause. There are many of us nowadays. We cannot contain the vast amount of negative information that is all around us. We are looking for a dark corner. We are afraid of the light and we are irradiated with evil. Soulless people are crawling through the city. They will never find peace, never die. Their brains burn, they want to jump out of their heads. Many have their faces torn. Bloody, from fear. For fear of ourselves.

Alcohol and good music are the only things that help. I've got one of those records that all the metal doctors recommend. The new EP from Canadian darkies SACCAGE. Thrash metal, black, crust. A pile of broken bones, skulls crushed to dust. Finally we found peace. In moshpit!


"Charogne" is like a hammer blow to the face. Riding into hell on a horse of fire. I'm walking on scorched earth and turning up the volume. I appreciate the great, raw, raw sound. I look at the cover with relish, wishing I could wear it on a t-shirt. Canadians are wild, crazy, furious. Like demons of old, out for revenge. The songs are written in the style of the old masters and I enjoy listening to them. There are a lot of similar packs walking around the world, but SACCAGE have more darkness in them and can write songs that I can't get out of my head. I feel like Pinhead, with rusty spikes hammered into my head. I have a great desire to visit a little club outside of town where good old zombies go. Sit down, have a few beers and just soak up the atmosphere. This band's rotten, dusty, dark and cold. It's like visiting the abandoned catacombs where the fallen priests are buried. I'm in the mood for a good piece of dripping meat! I look into the darkness and I shudder. I'm angry at the whole wicked world. Only music can save me, only albums like "Charogne". It's my first encounter with this band and I have no complaints. Here they play from the heart, honestly, with a crazy black sparkle in their eyes. A scorching black thrash crust ride to hell!

Drtíme staré kosti a stále nás to baví. Další těla, další bílé lebky. Zavřeni v podzemí, děláme práci, která je  těžká a náročná. Nic pro slabé povahy. Stejně jako hudba, kterou u toho posloucháme. Znovu zvedám kladivo. Slyším ozvěny ze záhrobí. Jedna mrtvola se posadila ve své rakvi. Posloucháme novou desku maniaků TO THE DOGS a tak nám vůbec nepřijde divné, že nám podříznou hrdlo ostrým nožem.

Tančíme na svých vlastních hrobech a užíváme si surovou kombinaci starého thrashe, crustu, blacku i death metalu. Muzika těchto šílenců je stará jako rakve, které k nám chodí na likvidaci. Pomáhá nám drtit prašivé kosti, pomáhá nám přežít v dnešním zkaženém světě.


TO THE DOGS si jedou to svoje, hezky ve stylu klasiků VENOM, NIFELHEIM, VULCANO, MORBID SLAUGHTER, DEATHHAMMER, PENTAGRAM CHILE, AURA NOIR, DESASTER, PROTECTOR, POSSESSED. Neohlížejí se napravo ani nalevo. Jsou nekompromisní, špinaví, uvěřitelní a opravdoví jako smrt. Líbí se mi zvuk, obal, ale hlavně obrovské množství energie, které mě pokaždé doslova přiková na zeď. Tohle je záležitost pro staré, prašivé psy, kteří zvednou hlavu jen v případě, když hraje něco dobrého. Podobné záležitosti mi samozřejmě kolují již dlouhé roky v krvi. Jsou mojí součástí a tak nemohu hodnotit jinak, než velmi vysoko. "Light the Fires" je deskou, která vám vezme na výlet přímo do pekla. Spálí vás na popel a rozpráší na dávno opuštěných pohřebištích. Pánové jsou věrni tradičním postupům, na nic si nehrají a já jim jejich hrobařskou práci věřím bezezbytku. Až půjdu ráno zase temnými ulicemi, jsem si naprosto jistý, že mi budou hrát do uší. A to pořádně nahlas. Namíchány jsou zde totiž všechny potřebné ingredience pro pořádnou pařbu v márnici. Drtíme staré kosti a stále nás to baví. Další těla, další bílé lebky. Zavřeni v podzemí, děláme práci, která je  těžká a náročná. Nic pro slabé povahy. Stejně jako hudba, kterou u toho posloucháme. Znovu zvedám kladivo a zapínám přehrávač. "Light the Fires" se nebývale povedlo. Album, které vás rozdrtí na prach! Black, thrash, crust metalový zásek přímo do našich černých duší!

TO THE DOGS do their own thing, in the style of classics VENOM, NIFELHEIM, VULCANO, MORBID SLAUGHTER, DEATHHHAMMER, PENTAGRAM CHILE, AURA NOIR, DESASTER, PROTECTOR, POSSESSED. They do not look to the right or left. They are uncompromising, dirty, believable and real as death. I love the sound, the cover art, but most of all the massive amount of energy that literally drives me up the wall every time. This is a thing for mangy old dogs who only raise their heads when something good is playing. Of course, stuff like this has been in my blood for years. They are a part of me, and so I can't rate them other than very highly. "Light the Fires" is a record that takes you on a trip straight to hell. It will burn you to ashes and scatter you in long abandoned burial grounds. The gentlemen are loyal to traditional methods and I trust their gravedigger work completely. When I walk down the dark streets again in the morning, I'm pretty sure they'll be playing in my ears. And they'll be loud. All the ingredients for a good party in the morgue are mixed here. Crushing old bones and still having fun. More bodies, more white skulls. Locked underground, we're doing a job that's hard and demanding. Not for the faint of heart. Just like the music we listen to. Původně to vypadalo na klidnou letní noc. Komáři štípali, ale bylo příjemně teplo a nebe bylo jasné. Pak se do tmy ozval šíleny skřek. Řev raněného zvířete. Lekl jsem se a vydal se za zvukem. Uprostřed cesty, kousek od našeho domu, ležel mladý muž. Vyděšený výraz ve tváři, roztržené, prokousnuté hrdlo. Ohledám místo činu a zjistím, že jsem se stal svědkem lovu. Jenom se místo štvané zvěře stal obětí člověk. Mocní a zvrácení a jejich hnusné hry. Není před nimi úniku.

Jako štvaná zvěř jsem se cítil i při poslechu první dlouhohrající desky amerických death metalistů NEOLITHIC. Surové skladby mě přenesly do hlubokého lesa, kde za každým stromem čeká nebezpečí. Poslouchal jsem album nějaký čas a pokaždé jsem končil s prokousnutým hrdlem. Sype to pěkně!


Pokud máte rádi smrtící kov v jeho neotesané, syrové podobě, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Tlak, energie, temnota, špína a chlad, to jsou hlavní znaky celé nahrávky. NEOLITHIC jsou jako rozjetý vlak, který k nám přijel rovnou z pekla. Mám sto chutí bouchnout do stolu a jít si to vyřídit se všemi hajzly na světě. Samozřejmě to myslím s nadsázkou, ale prostým faktem je, že mi pokaždé podobné kapely dokáží vlít do žil velké množství nakumulovaného vzteku. Odkazuje se zde na severské smečky, na to nejlepší z undergroundu. "Shattering Vessels" vás roztrhá na kusy. Budete zavřeni do tmavé kobky, přikováni ke zdi a mučeni stejným způsobem, jako se to stále děje v různých koutech našeho zkaženého světa. Když potom uslyšíte z reproduktorů tuhle nahrávku, řetězy roztrhnete a rozkopnete mříže. Stanete se predátorem, ničitelem a pomstíte se za všechny příkoří, které vám kdo způsobil. Oceňuji zvuk, s chutí se dívám na obal. Američané vydali komplexní dílo, které by nemělo chybět ve sbírce žádného fanouška podobných záležitostí. Songy doslova žhnou a pálí, jsou kusem rozžhaveného železa, které vám někdo hodí znenadání do ruky. Tohle je devastace v přímém přenosu, po "Shattering Vessels" zůstává jen spálená země. Masivní death crustová exploze!

Originally, it looked like a quiet summer night. The mosquitoes were biting, but it was pleasantly warm and the sky was clear. Then a mad screech echoed into the darkness. The roar of a wounded animal. I cowered and followed the sound. In the middle of the road, not far from our house, lay a young man. A terrified look on his face, and his throat ripped open. I look around the scene and find I've witnessed a hunt. Only instead of a hunted animal, the victim was a man. The powerful and the depraved and their dirty games. There's no escape from them.

I felt like a hunted animal when listening to the first long-playing album of American death metallers NEOLITHIC. The raw songs transported me to a deep forest where danger waits behind every tree. I listened to the album for some time and each time I ended up with a bitten throat. It's nice!


If you like death metal in its uncut, raw form, don't hesitate a moment. Pressure, energy, darkness, dirt, and coldness are the main features of the whole record. NEOLITHIC is like a runaway train that came to us straight from hell. I feel like slamming the table and going to deal with all the bastards in the world. Of course, I mean that with hyperbole, but the simple fact is that bands like this always manage to pour a lot of accumulated rage into my veins. The reference here is to the Nordic packs, to the best of the underground. "Shattering Vessels" will tear you apart. You'll be locked in a dark dungeon, chained to a wall, and tortured in the same way that still happens in various corners of our corrupt world. Then when you hear this recording coming out of the speakers, you'll break the chains and kick the bars. You will become a predator, a destroyer, and you will avenge all the wrongs that have been done to you. I appreciate the sound, I'm looking forward to the cover. The Americans have released a comprehensive work that should not be missing in any fan's collection of such matters. The songs literally glow and burn, a piece of red-hot iron that someone throws at you out of the blue. This is devastation in the flesh, after "Shattering Vessels" all that's left is scorched earth. A massive death crust explosion!

Nevím, kdy vše vniklo, ale rozdíly se začaly postupně stírat. Mezi naším a oním světem. Mezi realitou a přízraky. V lidech bylo až příliš zla a nenávisti. Bratr nesnášel bratra, synové své otce. Kvůli drobnostem se začaly vést nesmyslné války. Občas bylo možné zahlédnout v pozadí usměvavého pána, který si všeobecné inferno neskutečně užíval. Jedno z převtělení pána pekel. Už nikdo nepracoval, nemiloval, nežil. Všem tekla krev.

Podobné apokalyptické a nihilistické pocity mám i z nového EP španělských death metalistů SEPULCHRAL. Ti se také po celou dobu pohybují na ostré a tenké hranici. Špatný život nebo smrt, vyberte si sami. Stačí, když dáte převozníkovi minci. Kapela hraje hodně surově, ošklivě, temně a chladně. 


Pro pochopení desky se musíme vydat do starých prašivých časů, když bylo vydáno debutové album ENTOMBED "Beyond the Burial Mound". Řekl bych, že inspirací byly nejen švédské death metalové kapely, ale i ty tradiční, americké. Je to v závěru jedno, hlavní je cíl, kterého pánové dosáhli. Pokud jste někdy kopali hluboký hrob, určitě víte, o čem mluvím. SEPULCHRAL se s tím nemažou, lámou kosti bez varování. Tančí na hrobech, vysmívají se církvi svaté, jsou neurvalí, šílení, divocí a maniakální. "From Beyond The Burial Mound" lze s klidem doporučit všem, kteří rádi objevují nové smečky se starým feelingem a patinou. Pokaždé, když jsem odděloval maso od kostí, tak jsem si na tuhle skupinu vzpomněl. Jedná se o hrubozrnnou, nasekanou tmu té nejvyšší kvality. Možná se svět řítí do záhuby a můžeme si za to sami, ale dokud budou vznikat podobná alba, bude mít smysl pořád hudbu poslouchat. Až to tady jednou nějaký šílenec celé odpálí, všichni budeme zvracet krev a konečně se pokloníme Satanovi, tak si na tuhle desku určitě vzpomenu. Nevím, kdy vše vzniklo, ale rozdíly se začaly postupně stírat. Mezi naším a oním světem. Mezi realitou a přízraky. Mezi lidmi bylo až příliš zla a nenávisti. Je na čase všechno vyčistit. Doporučuji "From Beyond The Burial Mound" pořádně nahlas. Temný, chladný, zabijácký death metal!

Death metal, který je nám zde předkládán je ostrý, nekompromisní, starý, ošklivý a šíleně návykový. Vydejte se spolu s kapelou na výlet do dávných dob, kdy se ještě hrálo poctivě, reálně a skupinám nechybělo nadšení. Oceňuji velmi dobré, chytlavé nápady, pořádně plesnivý zvuk a hlavně určitou jiskru, kterou cítím z každé skladby. Tohle je muzika pro všechny pamětníky, kteří ještě nezapomněli na to, jak správně death metalem nakopat všem zadky. Mírně se rozkročte, rozpusťte své vlasy, zvedněte ruce a začněte pařit. Starý smrtící kov z devadesátých let opět ožívá. A to pěkně hlasitě a ostře. Kdo z vás si vykope vlastní hrob? Songy plné záhrobí, které jsou nabroušené, jako rezavá kosa. Z nahrávky jsem doslova nadšený a užívám si ji plnými doušky. Temný, chladný, zabijácký death metal!

Sedíš v hospodě a dáváš si asi páté pivo. Sleduješ televizi. Rozzuřený dav právě rabuje obchody. Nenávist v očích, transparenty plné zla. Snažíš se pochopit všechnu špínu, hnus, co se děje kolem. Hlava ti to nebere. Potřebuješ vypnout, restartovat. Jenže nevíš jak. Další pivo není řešením. Je pátek a celý týden si poctivě pracoval. Frustrace, nakumulovaný vztek. Všechno musí nějak ven. Měl bych jedno řešení.

Co takhle malý zaplivaný klub kousek za městem? Na pódiu švédská kapela WORLD IN RUINS a dole staré dobré zombie, tančící do rytmu. Přidávám volume a těším se na další song. Je to tak, i mě koluje v žilách podobná špinavá hudba. Death metal, punk, crust, zlámané kosti, proražené lebky. Myslím, že jsem tu opět správně.


Kapela ctí tradice, hraje rychle a zběsile, se spoustou mrazivých melodií. Vše je v nejlepším pořádku. Podobných smeček je sice mnoho, ale jen některé se umí dostat do mé hlavy. Jak říkám, byl pátek a já celý týden pracoval. Jsem unavený a nechce se mi přemýšlet. Potřebuji pivo a další dávku desky "In Misery". Mezi lidmi je podivný neklid, stačí jeden výkřik a dav se dá do pohybu. Poslední roky mám pocit, že se celý svět zbláznil a zdravý rozum zůstal zakopán někde v nejhlubším hrobě. A tak říkám fuck off a jdu na koncert. Tady je vše ještě v pořádku, stejně jako hudba šílených Švédů WORLD IN RUINS. Ne, není to kapela, která by bourala hranice nebo objevovala jiné dimenze. Jenže je pátek a já potřebuji vyhodit na chvilku mozek z hlavy. Ctí se tu všechny poctivé, tradiční metalové postupy. Takhle to mám rád, takhle je to dobře. Dejte mi prosím další pivo, dneska bude dlouhá noc. Zvu k tanci tu nejkrásnější zombie a ztrácím se v temnotě. A hrají mi k tomu WORLD IN RUINS. Líbí se mi rebelie, tlak a energie, líbí se mi, že se pánové s ničím nepářou. Je totiž pátek a já si potřebuji propláchnout mozek kyselinou. D-beat crust punk old-school death metal, který trhá řetězy!

You sit in a pub and have about a fifth beer. You're watching TV. An angry mob is looting shops. Hatred in the eyes, banners full of evil. You're trying to understand all the dirt, the disgust that's going on around you. Your head doesn't take it. You need to shut down, restart. But you don't know how. Another beer is not the answer. It's Friday and you've been working honestly all week. Frustration, accumulated anger. Everything has to come out somehow. I would have one solution.

How about a little spit-out club just outside the city? On stage, the Swedish band WORLD IN RUINS and down the good old zombies, dancing to the beat. I'm adding volume and looking forward to the next song. That's right, I've got similar dirty music in my veins. Death metal, punk, crust, broken bones, pierced skulls. I think I'm right here again.


The band honours tradition, plays fast and furious, with lots of chilling melodies. Everything is fine. There are many similar packs, but only some of them can get into my head. As I say, it was Friday and I worked all week. I'm tired and I don't want to think. I need a beer and another batch of "In Misery". There is a strange unrest among the people, one shout is enough and the crowd starts moving. In recent years, I have felt that the whole world has gone mad and common sense has remained buried somewhere in the deepest grave. So, I say fuck off and I go to a concert. Everything is still fine here, as is the music of the crazy Swedes WORLD IN RUINS. No, it's not a band that breaks boundaries or explores other dimensions. But it's Friday and I need to blow my brains out for a while. He honours all honest, traditional metal techniques. That's how I like it, that's how good it is. Please give me another beer, tonight will be a long night. I invite the most beautiful zombies to dance and I get lost in the dark. And they play me WORLD IN RUINS. I like rebellion, pressure and energy, I like that gentleman don't get along with anything. It's Friday and I need to flush my brain with acid. D-beat crust punk old-school death metal that tears chains!

A few questions - interview with death metal/crust punk band from Sweden - WORLD IN RUINS.

Answered Martin and Marcus, thank you!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

MD: The band consists of me (Marcus Dahl) on lead guitar, Martin on the drums, Mathias on 2nd guitar, Daniel on bass and Fredrik on vocals.

ME: We started off in 2017 with the intension to play D-Beat/crust blended with some death metal. These are styles of music that we all like and can relate to both lyric wise and music wise.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

ME: The conditions wasn’t the best but we pulled it through. I had a severe back problem at the time and couldn’t feel my right foot when playing the drums and Mathias (git) was burnt out from working too much but as i said we pulled it through and are quite pleased with the result.

MD: Most of it was recorded at Studio Fredman and then some at my and Martins home studios after which everything was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman.


How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

ME: I’m not sure but i think that it’s a small first edition. About 100 copies made of the CD and maybe 50 of the tapes. So it’s released on CD, Tape and digital. There’s no vinyl made yet but if there is someone out there willing to release it on vinyl you are more than welcome.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

MD:Most lyrics are done by Martin and then some by Fredrik and a few by me. The lyrics are social aware dealing with topics such as religion, abuse, terrorism and other sorts of pain and misery.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

MD:If I remember right it was Daniel who found the font and then we jointly did some fine tuning.

ME:The cover art for the album is made by Mike Fisher custom artwork whom we used for me and Marcus other band Sickrecy but the general graphics on both CD and Tape was taken care of by Achilles at URBAN NOISE productions.


Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

ME: We teamed up with the small DIY label URBAN NOISE Productions. Achilles, who runs the label is a friend of mine and he wrote to me and asked if he could release it, and since we parted with our previous label we all thought that this was a very good solution.

MD:This is a very small label with limited funds but he works hard (and we too) to spread our music and name and we are very satisfied with everything so far. The best thing with being on a small label is that communication is much easier and direct, which we really appreciate as opposed to being band number 242 on some bigger label that takes ages to respond (no names).

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

MD: I wouldn't say idolize but considering the style we play I would say the inspiration comes from both old punk like Discharge and Anti-Cimex as well as death metal like Morbid Angel. The first Wolfpack album is a huge inspiration as well although I think we quickly found our own way of combining those styles.

ME: i don’t know if i idolize any band but good dose of inspiration for me comes from the crust scene in general but i can tell you one thing, if Wolfbrigade hasn’t been around and showed the world that you can do it with a fat, good and modern sound, I don’t think that we would be around. They managed to take the music from the mid 80’s and do it with the sound of today. But the single most inspirational thing for me is, knowing that the best songs are still to be made and that is what i’m chasing after.


Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

ME: When we were finished with the recording we passed it around to see what interest it would gain. There were a couple of labels interested and we even signed (a bum deal) with one. We got promised a lot but nothing happened, so after a year we decided to part with them.

MD:The idea then was to release the album as three digital ep’s but along came Achilles and URBAN NOISE and the rest is history. We are very pleased that it’s finally released.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

ME: In 2019 we were on the roll, well rehearsed and on the go. We played a handful of gigs in late 2019 and early 2020 but as you all know by now that little thing called Covid-19 came along and annihilated all plans for gigs and shows. As for me i think that the last show we did was our best and most fun. It was in a small club in Kristianstad, a town in the south of Sweden. We shared the stage with 3 other relatively unknown band but the crowd was wild and the the other bands were great.

MD: I would have to agree the last show in Kristianstad is the best so far as we were all well rehearsed and pulled off a good show.


What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

ME: To promote the album the best that we can and to try and get some more gigs going. That means that we have to assemble the band and drag our arses to rehearsal place more often. You see, we all live in different parts of the country so naturally we don’t rehearse that much together. Hopefully we will be back in the studio by the end of 2022 to record a new album and this time we aim for a vinyl release as well.

MD: Now that the whole album is finally out main goal, unless the Covid situation results in lockdowns again, is to get out and play, thats really what I look forward to mostly. Then we will see with regards to next release, we have some new tracks but we also have two other bands (Sickrecy and Damned to Downfall) that take up quit some time so for World in Ruins I would say main goal for 2022 is to play more shows and see where that takes us.
