Jednou možná všichni shoříme v pekle a naše hříchy se rozplynou v nicotě, ale než se tak stane, je stále čas na to, poslouchat dobrou muziku. Rovnou se vás zeptám, co považujete za hudbu, která vás baví? Pokud jste klasici a držíte se stále stejných postupů, potom dál ani nečtěte. Jen si poslechněte ukázky a když se vám nebudou líbit, jděte v pokoji pryč. AZURE EMOTE jsou totiž trošku jinou kapelou. Přistupují k death metalu odlišně, s velkou temnou fantazií a se spoustou neotřelých nápadů.
My fanoušci máme tendenci všechno někam zařazovat, jasně definovat, označit nějakou nálepkou. To u téhle smečky, která je uskupením kolem Mika Hrubovcaka, moc dobře nejde. Jejich smrtící kov je neuchopitelný, vzdušný, záhadný, se spoustou dalších prvků jako je black metal, doom, ale třeba i industriální chlad nebo čistě progresivní hra. Chce to fantazii a otevřenou mysl, potom pochopíte. Také musíte, stejně jako v minulosti, dát nahrávce čas. Vstřebávat jí postupně, polehoučku, opatrně. Nechat ji na sebe působit. Potom budete odměněni vskutku mocným zážitkem. Alespoň tak vnímám nové skladby já.
Na novém albu je velká spousta hostů. Každý odvedl velmi dobrou práci a i když v podobných případech bývají občas desky spíše roztříštěné, tak zde to neplatí, naopak. Poslech "Cryptic Aura" bych asi nejlépe přirovnal k nějaké temné a podmanivé symfonii. Každý nástroj, motiv, zde má své vlastní místo. Nikde nic nechybí, nikde nic nepřebývá. Přes počáteční opatrnost jsem si jen tak sedl, přidal volume doprava a nechal se unášet na krvavě zpěněných vlnách řeky beznaděje. Hudba v sobě má něco neklidného, řezajícího, co mě neustále přitahuje a musím se vracet. Znovu zapínám play a užívám si pestrou paletu do černých odstínů laděných barev. Hořící postava na obalu (fotografii vytvořil Hrubovcak) vyjadřuje meditativní návrat konceptu minulého alba. Jedná se o seismickou změnu, ke které za posledních pět let došlo. AZURE EMOTE jsou zkrátka sví, mají vlastní přístup k hudbě jako takové, velké množství nápadů a je jen na vás, zda na jejich hru přistoupíte. Osobně mi to trvalo déle, než u minulého alba, skladby mi přijdou ještě víc komplikované a těžké na poslech. Nicméně, nakonec se vše usadilo a já si album neskutečně užívám. Všechny ty smyčce, různé odbočky, záhadná zákoutí, stíny, ale hlavně atmosféru celé nahrávky, která je tak nějak zvláštně přitažlivá. Garantuji vám, že tahle kapela vás nenechá ani chvilku v klidu. Pokud rádi u hudby přemýšlíte a s chutí se pohybujete na tenké hranici mezi bděním a děsivou noční můrou, potom neváhejte ani chvilku. Someday we may all burn in hell and our sins will dissolve into nothingness, but until that happens, there is still time to listen to good music. I'll ask you right now, what do you consider music that you enjoy? If you're a classical musician and you stick to the same routines, then don't even read any further. Just listen to the samples and if you don't like them, go away in peace. AZURE EMOTE are a slightly different band. They approach death metal differently, with a great dark imagination and a lot of fresh ideas.
We fans tend to classify everything somewhere, to define it clearly, to label it with a label. That doesn't work very well with this pack, which is the group around Mike Hrubovcak. Their death metal is elusive, airy, mysterious, with a lot of other elements like black metal, doom, but also industrial coldness or pure progressive playing. It takes imagination and an open mind, then you'll understand. Also, as in the past, you have to give the record time. Absorb it gradually, slowly, carefully. Let it work on you. Then you will be rewarded with a truly powerful experience. At least that's how I feel about new songs.
There are a lot of guests on the new album. Everyone did a very good job and although in similar cases sometimes albums tend to be rather fragmented, this is not the case here, on the contrary. Listening to "Cryptic Aura" is probably best compared to some dark and captivating symphony. Every instrument, every motif, has its own place here. Nothing is missing, nothing is missing anywhere. Despite my initial caution, I just sat back, turned the volume to the right and let myself drift on the bloody foamy waves of the river of despair. There's something restless, cutting about the music that keeps me coming back. I put it back on play and enjoy the colourful palette of black-toned colours. The burning figure on the cover (photographed by Hrubovcak) expresses the meditative return of the last album's concept. It is a seismic change that has occurred over the past five years. In short, AZURE EMOTE are a force to be reckoned with, they have their own approach to music as such, a large number of ideas and it's up to you whether you take to their game. Personally, it took me longer than the last album, I find the songs even more complicated and hard to listen to. However, everything settled down in the end and I enjoy the album immensely. All the loops, the various detours, the mysterious nooks and crannies, the shadows, but most of all the atmosphere of the whole record, which is somehow strangely appealing. I guarantee you that this band will not leave you in peace for a moment. If you like to think with your music and you like to walk the fine line between wakefulness and a scary nightmare, then don't hesitate a moment. Someday we may all burn in hell and our sins will dissolve into nothingness, but until that happens there is still time to listen to good music. Avant-garde death metal that will take you to the depths! Cold and darkness coming from our damned souls!
