Postavy bez tváří, s vnitřnostmi rozežranými a shnilými. Vystupují pomalu ze tmy, z krvavé mlhy. Umřel jsem a nebo se tak brzy stane, napadne mě jako první. Křičím na ně, ale odpovědí je mi jenom chřestění jejich kostí. Zdá se, že touží po krvi. Plazí se kolem mě a ve vzduchu je cítit zápach rozkládajícího se masa. Hnus a špína ze shnilých močálů, napadne mě jako poslední. Potom mi prokousnou hrdlo a já se probudím z děsivého snu. Poslouchal jsem celý večer nové album od finských maniaků MALFORMED a zadřelo se mi hluboko do podvědomí.
Z riffů odkapává zkažená krev, bicí jsou surové a vokál je nasáklý pradávnými chorobami. Mým čtenářům je již dlouho jasné, že mám pro tuhle kapelu velkou slabost (důkazem budiž odkazy na recenzi a rozhovor, články jsou odkazovány dole pod dnešním povídáním). Pánové pokračují ve své morbidní misi. Brutalita se zde potkává s chladem a temnotou. Jejich death metal je doslova povinností pro všechny prokleté.
Jakoby přede mnou ožily ty nejšílenější a nejděsivější noční můry. Určitě znáte atmosféru, kterou v sobě mívaly horory v osmdesátých letech minulého století. Tak přesně takový pocit mám i z nového alba "Confinement of Flesh". Ve skladbách je taky cosi neklidného, plazícího se a mrazivého. Cestou z kina potkáte náhodou sériového vraha. V opuštěné uličce. Zavřeni v rezavé kleci čekáte na smrt. Tak bych definoval hudbu, kterou nám letos tihle maniaci přinášejí. Za opravdu povedený, syrový, prašivý, s krvavou jiskrou zahraný, považuji zvuk (recorded by MALFORMED, produced and engineered by Felix Pennanen (Disguised Malignance), and mastered to perfection by Lasse at Ballade Studios). Líbí se mi i obal, který nejen, že se bude dobře krásně vyjímat na tričku, ale hlavně sedne k předkládané hudbě, jako k mrtvému rakev (podepsán je pod ním islandský umělec Skadvaldura). Fanoušek zde dostane opravdu perfektně odvedenou práci po všech stránkách. Ale to by v dnešní době bylo málo. Mě se na MALFORMED vždy líbilo, že jsou uvěřitelní, reální, že jejich skladby smrdí zkaženým masem. I tentokrát se jim povedlo nahrát album, které se ihned dostalo na přední příčky mé soukromé diskografie. Na povrchu jsou songy chladné jako ruka mrtvoly, ale uvnitř nich hoří jasný nenávistný plamen. Osobně mi chybí snad jen jediné. Rád bych viděl a slyšel, jak na mě hudba těchto tmářů působí naživo. Tahle muzika hnije zevnitř, mokvá a smrdí jako dlouho neléčený vřed. Pro takový smrtící kov mám vždy pochopení a poslouchám jej velmi rád. Hlídám vchod do podsvětí již velmi dlouho a zvedám hlavu už jen v případech, když mě hudba opravdu baví. Koneckonců, to je celý koncept mých stránek. Letos jsou Finové ve skvělé formě a mě nezbývá nic jiného, než znovu zapnout play a nechat noční můry, aby mě zcela pohltily. Postavy bez tváří, s vnitřnostmi rozežranými a shnilými. Faceless figures, their insides eaten away and rotten. They emerge slowly from the darkness, from the bloody mist. I'm dead, or I will be soon, is my first thought. I scream at them, but the only response is the rattling of their bones. They seem to crave blood. They crawl around me and the smell of decaying flesh fills the air. The filth and dirt of rotten swamps, I think to myself. Then they bite through my throat and I wake up from a terrifying dream. I listened to the new album by Finnish maniacs MALFORMED all evening and it stuck deep in my subconscious.
The riffs drip with rotten blood, the drums are raw, and the vocals are steeped in ancient diseases. It has long been clear to my readers that I have a soft spot for this band (as evidenced by the links to the review and interview, which are linked below today's story). The gentlemen continue their morbid mission. Brutality meets coldness and darkness here. Their death metal is literally a must for all the damned.
It's as if my wildest and most terrifying nightmares have come to life before my eyes. You surely know the atmosphere that horror movies had in the 1980s. That's exactly how I feel about the new album "Confinement of Flesh". There is something unsettling, creeping, and chilling about the songs. On your way home from the cinema, you happen to encounter a serial killer. In a deserted alley. Locked in a rusty cage, you await death. That's how I would describe the music these maniacs are bringing us this year. I consider the sound (recorded by MALFORMED, produced and engineered by Felix Pennanen (Disguised Malignance), and mastered to perfection by Lasse at Ballade Studios) to be truly successful, raw, mangy, and played with a bloody spark. I also like the cover, which not only looks great on a T-shirt, but also fits the music perfectly, like a coffin for the dead (it is signed by Icelandic artist Skadvaldura). Fans will get a truly perfect job in every respect. But that would not be enough these days. I have always liked MALFORMED because they are believable, real, and their songs reek of rotten meat. Once again, they have managed to record an album that immediately made it to the top of my personal discography. On the surface, the songs are as cold as a corpse's hand, but inside them burns a bright flame of hatred. Personally, there's only one thing I miss. I'd like to see and hear how the music of these dark forces affects me live. This music rots from the inside, oozes, and stinks like a long-untreated ulcer. I always have an understanding for such deadly metal and enjoy listening to it very much. I have been guarding the entrance to the underworld for a very long time and only raise my head when I really enjoy the music. After all, that's the whole concept of my website. This year, the Finns are in great shape, and I have no choice but to press play again and let the nightmares consume me completely. Faceless figures with gnawed and rotten entrails.
