Přemýšleli jste někdy o tom, proč se vám líbí muzika? Já to mám třeba nastavené tak, že na mě musí nějakým způsobem působit, vyvolat ve mě emoce, rozdrásat mě do krve. Jsou kapely, u kterých mám vždy víceméně jistotu, že strávím s jejich alby dlouhý čas. Novinku legendárních polských CHRIST AGONY, které poslouchám od svého brzkého mládí, jsem si poprvé pustil na jedné lesní pěšině. Už bylo poměrně chladno a stačilo několik prvních tónů, aby se mi v kostech usadil mráz.
Víte, když člověk nějakou kapelu sleduje celou její kariéru, má doma diskografii, tak je jeho pohled samozřejmě trošku zkreslený. I tak ale musím napsat, že novinka je povedená po všech stránkách. Co se týká zvuku, obalu, produkce, takových těch produkčních věcí, tak se jedná o špičku nejen žánru zvaného black metal. Hlavní je pro mě ale, ostatně jako vždy, hudba samotná. A ta se mi dostala ihned do žil, zůstala tam a zanechala po sobě kousky nahrubo nasekaného ledu.
CHRIST AGONY, v čele s démonickým Cezarem, uměli vždy vytvořit absolutně temnou a chladnou atmosféru. Přestavte si starý opuštěný hřbitov, se spoustou bolesti, vzpomínek, utrpení a smrti, ve které jsme si všichni rovni. Vše je otištěné do nahnutých náhrobků, do kamenných hrobek, ale hlavně do nového alba "Anthems". Novinka v mnohém odkazuje na předchozí počiny, ale zároveň je jiná, kapela se dle mého posunula k větší melodičnosti. Zároveň si zachovává svoji pověstnou ostrost a syrovost. Jako bych při poslechu potkával děsivé stíny zahalené do krvavé mlhy. Pokud máte jako já rádi tajemno, chlad, černou magii a genius loci ranního hřbitova, potom jste zde správně. Poláci mají samozřejmě svůj jasný, originální a nezaměnitelný rukopis s takovou zvláštní a typickou aurou. U některých starých veteránů bývá trošku problém s tím, že se již nijak nevyvíjejí. U Cezara to neplatí. Stačí pozorně poslouchat. Pokaždé objevím nějaký nový motiv, temné zákoutí, moment, který mě překvapí. Zapamatuji si ho a vypálí se mi do paměti jako cejch. Možná je troufalé psát o black metalu, že je svěží, ale jiné slovo mě nenapadá. Připadám si jako na nějakém pradávném rituálu pro vyvolávání sil, které rozhodně nejsou z tohoto světa. Ne, tohle není jenom obyčejná muzika, tohle je už teď po nějaké době, moje srdcové album. Brzy bude podzim a už nyní se těším na sychravé počasí. Nasadím si sluchátka a vydám se do pomalu usínajícího lesa. Máme tu nedaleko jedno staré pohřebiště. Myslím si, že síla a energie téhle nahrávky zde vynikne nejvíce. Chladné, melodické black metalové album, u kterého vám zmrzne krev v žilách! Tajemný, záhadný, magický, starodávný obřad!

Have you ever thought about why you like music? For example, I have it set up in such a way that it has to affect me in some way, evoke emotions in me, tear me to the core. There are bands whose albums I am always more or less sure that I will spend a long time with. I first listened to the new album by the legendary Polish CHRIST AGONY, who I have been listening to since my early youth, on a forest path. It was already quite cold and the first few notes were enough to send a chill down my spine.
You know, when you follow a band's entire career, have their discography at home, your view is of course a bit distorted. But even so, I have to say that the new album is great in every way. As for the sound, the packaging, the production, and all that production stuff, it is the pinnacle of not only the genre called black metal. But the main thing for me, as always, is the music itself. And it immediately got into my veins, stayed there, and left behind pieces of roughly chopped ice.
CHRIST AGONY, led by the demonic Cezar, have always been able to create an absolutely dark and cold atmosphere. Imagine an old abandoned cemetery, with a lot of pain, memories, suffering and death, in which we are all equal. Everything is printed into tilted tombstones, into stone tombs, but mainly into the new album "Anthems". The new album refers to previous works in many ways, but at the same time it is different, in my opinion the band has moved towards greater melodiousness. At the same time it retains its famous sharpness and rawness. As if I were listening to it, I was encountering terrifying shadows shrouded in bloody fog. If you, like me, like me, like mystery, coldness, black magic and the genius loci of an early cemetery, then you are in the right place. Of course, the Poles have their own clear, original and unmistakable handwriting with such a special and typical aura. Some old veterans have a bit of a problem with the fact that they are no longer developing. This is not the case with Cezar. Just listen carefully. Every time I discover a new motif, a dark corner, a moment that surprises me. I remember it and it burns into my memory like a brand. Maybe it's presumptuous to write about black metal that it's fresh, but I can't think of another word. I feel like I'm at some ancient ritual for invoking powers that are definitely not of this world. No, this is not just ordinary music, this has been my favorite album for a while now. Autumn will soon come and I'm already looking forward to the dry weather. I'll put on my headphones and head into a slowly falling asleep forest. We have an old cemetery nearby. I think the power and energy of this recording will stand out the most here. A cold, melodic black metal album that will freeze your blood in your veins! A mysterious, mysterious, magical, ancient ceremony!
