Tělo ve značném stádiu rozkladu. Mladá dívka s potrhanými vnitřnostmi, s kůží staženou z obličeje. Znásilněná, zohavená rezavým nožem. Chce se mi řvát do tmy, uprostřed lesa, nedaleko frekventované cesty. Kdo tohle mohl udělat? Ohledávám mrtvolu a najednou mám pocit, že se na mě dívá, že se mnou rozmlouvá. Pohnula se a nebo ne? Myslím si, že ano, poslouchám totiž debutové album finských maniaků GRAVE HEX.
Ti přicházejí s mokvajícím, hnilobným, totálně špinavým a nechutným death metalem. Jedná se o záležitost s takovým tím staroškolským feelingem, jak to mám asi nejraději. Ve tváři má červy a z úst jí odpadávají kusy masa. Chce mi prokousnout hrdlo. Podléhám. Tahle hudba totiž koluje i v mých žilách.
Odvezu tělo do márnice a uložím je mezi ostatní. Zapnu znovu play a užívám si prašivý, masivní a drsný zvuk (Matti Vainionpää - recording, mixing, Greg Wilkinson - mastering). Postupně, s každým dalším poslechem, se stanu také hnusnou zombie, toužící po čerstvém mase a mozcích. Skladby jsou velmi dobře napsány, mají v sobě potřebný drive, sílu, tlak i energii. Navíc opravdu smrdí jako čerstvě otevřený hrob. Pokud máte rádi kapely jako AUTOPSY, ABSCESS, UNDERGANG, MORBIFIC, DEMIGOD, PURTENANCE, FUNEBRE, ABHORRENCE, potom si myslím, že si tuhle exhumaci užijete úplně stejně jako já. "Vermian Death" je sice albem, na kterém se nehraje nic nového, ani převratného, ale to zde ani není účelem. Hlavní je zážitek, pocit, prožité emoce z pohřbu. Sedím v chladné márnici a s ostatními plánujeme, kdy se vrátíme a pomstíme se všem, kteří nám za našeho života ublížili. Přesně o tomhle album je. O opravdové smrti, o krutém umírání, o bolesti, strachu, o nekonečném utrpení v naprosté tmě. Kapela vzešla z toho nejhlubšího podzemí. Jejich nová nahrávka je opředena pevnými pavučinami. Pro mě osobně je potom nejdůležitější, že se rád vracím, že si rvu album stále dokola pod tlakem do hlavy. Pokud jste staří psi a nebo jen máte rádi smrtící kov z devadesátých let minulého století, potom se pohodlně usaďte a nechte se unášet podmanivě morbidními hororovými náladami. Za mě osobně dávám palec nahoru ve všech bodech obhajoby. GRAVE HEX jsou pro mě velkým překvapením posledních měsíců a také jasným důkazem, že existuje život po životě. Je hnusný, hodně bolí, ale když budete poslouchat tuhle desku, tak pochopíte jeho morbidní krásu. Exhumace shnilého, mokvajícího, prašivého deah metalového hrobu! Absolutní rozklad těla i mysli!

They come with oozing, putrid, totally dirty and disgusting death metal. It's a thing with that old-school feel, which is probably what I like best. She has worms in her face and chunks of flesh falling out of her mouth. She wants to bite my throat out. I give in. This music is also circulating in my veins.
I take the body to the morgue and put it among the others. I turn on the play again and enjoy the dusty, massive and harsh sound (Matti Vainionpää - recording, mixing, Greg Wilkinson - mastering). Gradually, with each subsequent listen, I also become a disgusting zombie, longing for fresh flesh and brains. The songs are very well written, they have the necessary drive, power, pressure and energy. Moreover, they really smell like a freshly opened grave. If you like bands like AUTOPSY, ABSCESS, UNDERGANG, MORBIFIC, DEMIGOD, PURTENANCE, FUNEBRE, ABHORRENCE, then I think you will enjoy this exhumation just as much as I do. "Vermian Death" is an album that does not play anything new or groundbreaking, but that is not the purpose here. The main thing is the experience, the feeling, the emotions experienced from the funeral. I'm sitting in a cold morgue and the others are planning when we'll return and take revenge on everyone who hurt us during our lives. That's exactly what this album is about. About real death, about cruel dying, about pain, fear, about endless suffering in complete darkness. The band emerged from the deepest underground. Their new record is woven with solid cobwebs. For me personally, the most important thing is that I like to come back, that I tear the album over and over again under pressure in my head. If you're an old dog or just like death metal from the nineties of the last century, then sit back and let yourself be carried away by the captivatingly morbid horror moods. For me personally, I give a thumbs up on all points of defense. GRAVE HEX are a big surprise for me in recent months and also clear proof that there is life after life. It's disgusting, it hurts a lot, but when you listen to this record, you'll understand its morbid beauty. Exhumation of a rotten, oozing, dusty death metal grave! Absolute decomposition of body and mind!
