Probuzen uprostřed noci jsem si uvědomil, že mé noční můry se staly dávno krutou skutečností. Jakoby ke mě temnota proudila odněkud z nekonečného vesmíru. Toulám se v jiných dimenzích, na onom světě. Cítím nekonečnou prázdnotu. Jsem raději sám, odtržen od běžného stereotypu všedních dní. Vždycky jsem chtěl od hudby něco navíc, emoce, drásavé kousky nabroušeného skla zadřeného do vnitřností. ANITVERSUM jsou black death metalovou skupinou ze Švýcarska, která přistupuje k muzice přeci jen trošku jinak, než jak je dnes běžné.
Již po prvních setkáních jsem se ujistil v tom, že tuhle smečku nelze jen tak zařadit do běžných stylových mantinelů. Kombinuje se zde sice smrt s temnotou, ale zazní i doomové pasáže. Nové, v pořadí druhé dlouhohrající, album je opravdu nejlepší poslouchat v tiché noci, po děsivých nočních můrách, když jsou mraky nízko a z nebe prší krev. V těchto chvílích vynikne síla této nahrávky nejvíce.
Také máte někdy pocit absolutní prázdnoty? Padá na vás splín a vaše myšlenky jsou velmi nihilistické. Chcete být sám a vaše pocity jsou černé jako duše prokletých. ANTIVERSUM umí napsat velmi zajímavé motivy, které se vám doslova zadřou pod kůži. Musíte ale mít bohatou fantazii, být otevřeni novým věcem a dívat se s chutí do prázdnoty vesmíru. Melodie jsou zcela návykové, podmanivé, tajemné a záhadné. Pánové zkrátka mají jiný přístup, který se v dnešní době generických kapel cení o to víc. "De Nemesis Omnes et Omnia" mě postupně opředlo do svých pavučin, uhranulo mě, stalo se i mojí součástí. Nové album se pro mě stalo postupně soukromým rituálem. Četl jsem si doma dlouho do noci staré sci-fi autory a jako kulisu míval tohle album. Všechno se mi časem spojilo v jeden zvláštní celek. Líbí se mi zvuk, motiv na obalu, oceňuji jednotlivé nápady, ale nahrávku poslouchám vždy jako celek. Mám to takhle nastaveno a doporučil bych to i vám. Není pro mě lehké vám tuhle desku popsat a myslím, že nakonec je stejně lepší, když si ji poslechnete a uděláte si názor sami. Moje slova totiž mnohdy nestačí. Znáte to, když posloucháte hudbu hlavně srdcem, tak to ani jinak nejde. Zhasl jsem všechna světla a pohodlně se usadil. Vzduch byl těžký a tichý déšť přicházel pomalu. Waking up in the middle of the night, I realized that my nightmares had long since become a cruel reality. As if darkness was flowing towards me from somewhere in the infinite universe. I wander in other dimensions, in the other world. I feel an infinite emptiness. I prefer to be alone, detached from the usual stereotype of everyday life. I always wanted something extra from music, emotions, harrowing pieces of sharpened glass stuck in the insides. ANTIVERSUM are a black death metal band from Switzerland, which approaches music a little differently than is common today.
After the first meetings, I was convinced that this band cannot be simply classified into the usual stylistic barriers. Death is combined with darkness, but there are also doom passages. The new album, the second full-length, is truly best listened to on a quiet night, after terrifying nightmares, when the clouds are low and the sky is raining blood. It is in these moments that the power of this recording stands out the most.
Do you also sometimes feel absolutely empty? You feel a pang of sadness and your thoughts are very nihilistic. You want to be alone and your feelings are as black as the souls of the damned. ANTIVERSUM can write very interesting motifs that literally get under your skin. But you have to have a rich imagination, be open to new things and look with gusto into the emptiness of the universe. The melodies are completely addictive, captivating, mysterious and enigmatic. The gentlemen simply have a different approach, which is appreciated all the more in this day and age of generic bands. "De Nemesis Omnes et Omnia" gradually spun me into its webs, bewitched me, and became a part of me. The new album gradually became a private ritual for me. I used to read old sci-fi authors at home late into the night and used this album as a backdrop. Over time, everything came together into one special whole. I like the sound, the motif on the cover, I appreciate the individual ideas, but I always listen to the record as a whole. This is how I set it up and I would recommend it to you too. It's not easy for me to describe this album to you and I think that in the end it's better if you listen to it and form your own opinion. My words are often not enough. You know, when you listen to music mainly with your heart, there's no other way. I turned off all the lights and settled down comfortably. The air was heavy and the quiet rain was coming slowly. It crawled around me like this album, like a ball of poisonous snakes that got here from another dimension.
