Tisíce zničených životů. Těla převážená z další z nesmyslných válek. Uložena v jednoduchých rakvích. Zohavené tváře, utrhané ruce i nohy. Ne, tohle není žádná počítačová hra nebo zpráva z daleké země. To je krutá, hnusná a špinavá realita. Procházím se mezi rakvemi a naslouchám nářku mrtvých. Ptají se proč? Proč tolik zbytečné smrti. Honosný pohřeb ani formální pocty nemůžou nikdy utišit bolest pozůstalých. Válka vždycky byla svinstvo. Lidé se nikdy nepoučí, stále budou posílat další a další zástupy nevinných na smrt. Uvědomuji si to pokaždé, když si pustím večerní zprávy i v momentech, když trávím svůj čas s novým albem německých maniaků GOMORRHA.
S touhle smečkou jste se mohli u nás na stránkách setkat již v roce 2023, když jsem psal o jejich skvělém albu "Doomed Mankind". Kapela patří mezi veterány undergroundové scény. Kdysi dávno v devadesátých letech vydala tři demonahrávky, aby potom hibernovala až do roku 2020, kdy vydala návratové EP "Before the Storm". Jak asi historie napovídá, jedná se o pravověrný, surový a prašivý death metal, zahraný se zkušenostmi a vášní starých mistrů. I letos mi stačilo několik prvních tónů, abych se ocitl na dalším chladném a temném bojišti.
"Straight into Beyond" je volným pokračováním věcí minulých. Kapela hraje ostře, nekompromisně, ale nezapomíná ani na chladné a temné melodie. Jednotlivé motivy se mi zarývají pod kůži, do vnitřností, do podvědomí. Jsme stejné krve, řvu do tmy, když se toulám podsvětím a navštěvuji hroby padlých vojáků. Prašivý, starými chorobami nasáklý zvuk, stylový, tematicky stále bohužel tolik aktuální motiv na obalu, celkové provedení a dojem, tohle všechno je dokonale uvěřitelné, opravdové, reálné, autentické. Nikde nic nepřebývá, nikde nic nechybí. Pokud jste v mládí rádi a často trávili svůj čas ve společnosti kapel jako MASSACRE, DEATH, BOLT THROWER, BENEDICTION, potom vám doporučuji dobrou aparaturu, hlasitost úplně doprava a pokud vnímáte hudbu stále jako já, starý pes, budete určitě spokojeni. Pánové jsou ze své podstaty ortodoxní, klasičtí, tradiční. Všem je nám asi jasné, že dnes se hraje úplně jinak, že svět se otáčí zcela odlišným způsobem, jenže mě je to úplně jedno. Mě na téhle smečce doslova fascinuje, jak mě pokaždé dokáže přikovat na zeď, strhnout do hlubiny, dostat se mi do hlavy. Mám před sebou spoustu nových nahrávek a stejně se nejčastěji vracím ke GOMORRHA. Nové album má v sobě totiž opravdu temnotu, chlad i bolest nesmyslných válek, takový ten marast, který vám žádné zprávy ani filmy nezprostředkují. Hraje se tu postaru, ale s krvavou jiskrou v oku, s neskutečnou energií a tlakem. Můj kamarád, kdyby ještě žil, by řekl: "Kurva brácho, je to tam!". A měl by pravdu. Násilí plodí násilí a němečtí tmáři nám opět nastavili zrcadlo. Těm nejtemnějším myšlenkám, které jsou uloženy hluboko v každém jedinci. Byl znovu vyhlášen válečný stav! Temný, surový a prašivý old school death metal, který vás vezme přímo na bojiště!

No, this is not a computer game or a news report from a distant land. This is the cruel, ugly, and dirty reality. I walk among the coffins and listen to the cries of the dead. They ask why? Why so many unnecessary deaths? No grand funeral or formal tribute can ever ease the pain of the bereaved. War has always been shit. People never learn, they will continue to send more and more innocent people to their deaths. I realize this every time I watch the evening news, and even when I spend my time with the new album by German maniacs GOMORRHA.
You could have encountered this pack on our website back in 2023, when I wrote about their great album "Doomed Mankind." The band is one of the veterans of the underground scene. Long ago in the nineties, they released three demo recordings, then went into hibernation until 2020, when they released their comeback EP "Before the Storm." As history suggests, this is orthodox, raw, and mangy death metal, played with the experience and passion of old masters. This year, too, it only took a few notes for me to find myself on another cold and dark battlefield.
"Straight into Beyond" is a loose continuation of things past. The band plays sharply, uncompromisingly, but does not forget the cold and dark melodies. Individual motifs get under my skin, into my guts, into my subconscious. We are of the same blood, I scream into the darkness as I wander through the underworld and visit the graves of fallen soldiers. A dusty sound, steeped in old diseases, stylish, with a theme that is unfortunately still so relevant on the cover, the overall design and impression, all of this is perfectly believable, real, authentic. Nothing is superfluous, nothing is missing. If you enjoyed spending your youth in the company of bands like MASSACRE, DEATH, BOLT THROWER, and BENEDICTION, then I recommend you get some good speakers, turn the volume all the way up, and if you still perceive music the way I do, an old dog, you will definitely be satisfied. These gentlemen are orthodox, classic, traditional by nature. We all realize that music is played completely differently today, that the world is turning in a completely different way, but I don't care. What fascinates me about this band is how they always manage to pin me to the wall, drag me into the depths, get into my head. I have a lot of new recordings in front of me, but I still find myself returning to GOMORRHA most often. The new album really captures the darkness, coldness, and pain of senseless wars, the kind of mess that no news or movies can convey. It's played in the old style, but with a bloody spark in the eye, with incredible energy and pressure. My friend, if he were still alive, would say, "Fuck, bro, it's there!" And he would be right. Violence begets violence, and the German obscurantists have once again held up a mirror to us. To the darkest thoughts that lie deep within each individual. A state of war has been declared once again! Dark, raw, and mangy old school death metal that takes you straight to the battlefield!
