Připadal jsem si jako starý hrobník, který se přehrabuje v prašivých kostech. Nestál jsem u plesnivé rakve, ale u stolu na kterém stojí moje hi-fi věž. Hledám nahrávky, na které jsem minulý rok zapomněl a chtěl jsem se jim věnovat. Rogga Johansson toho vydává tolik, že se v jeho kapelách i projektech občas ztrácím. Musím to napravit. utíkám do sklepa, vypínám topení, i když je venku zima. Mrznou mi kosti a pomalu se dostávám do podivného stavu death metalového posluchače, který potřebuje další dávku ostrých melodií. DEAD SUN jsou kapelou, která datuje svůj vznik do roku 1996.
Jedná se vždy o velmi dobře zahranou a složenou poctu melodickému švédskému death metalu. Alba bývají doslova prodchnutá takovou tou zvláštní severskou melancholií. Jde o hudbu, která nejvíc vynikne ve starých katakombách, u menhirů, na lesních hřbitovech. Pokud to máte takhle rádi, chybu rozhodně neuděláte. Rogga nijak nemění směr a je to moc dobře. Stejně jako asi každý potřebuji nějaký záchytný bod, kus něčeho pevného, opravdového, na co se mohu spolehnout. DEAD SUN jsou toho jasnou definicí.
Jen se tak vznášet, jen tak se nechat obejmout ledovou vodou. Jako mrtvola, co jsem nedávno viděl ve svých snech na hladině horského jezera. Ten klid, ta bolest, ten strach, krása smutku, osamění ve smrti. Tohle všechno najdete i na téhle nahrávce. Pokud máte rádi staré EDGE OF SANITY, kousky PARADISE LOST, v některých momentech válečníky BOLT TROWER, to vše zahalené do velmi dobře čitelného, masivního a chladného zvuku, pokud se rádi procházíte ranní mlhou, pokud se s chutí jen tak zastavíte na hřbitově, myslím si, že by se vám mohlo líbit i loňské album "This Life Is A Grave". Zrozeni v bolestech čekáme od prvního okamžiku na smrt. Času je málo a není nutné jej ztrácet. Jsem moc rád, že jsem se konečně k téhle nahrávce dostal. Venku mrzne, napadl i sníh a ulice jsou šedé a nepřívětivé. Myslím si, vím, jsem si naprosto jistý, co budu několik následujících měsíců poslouchat. DEAD SUN nejsou pro mě jen další Roggovou kapelou v řadě. Naopak, tentokrát nemohu jinak a novinku vám doporučit na 100%. Má v sobě totiž všechno - dobré melodie, zajímavé pasáže, podmanivě chladnou atmosféru. Dostala se mi postupně do hlavy, i do mých žil. Stala se kousky ledu, které mě mrazily. V krvi i kostech. Jedno staré dobré přísloví říká, že hudba je jen jedna - dobrá a nebo špatná. Mohu vám klidně podepsat pod přísahou, že tohle album patří mezi vyvolené. Přiznávám bez mučení, poslech si pořád neskutečně rád užívám a velmi často se vracím. Do svého chladného sklepa, na stará pohřebiště, do dávno opuštěných kobek. Mrazivé a temné death metalové album, které je nasáklé melancholií a samotou opuštěných katakomb!

I'm looking for recordings I forgot about last year and wanted to listen to. Rogga Johansson releases so much that I sometimes get lost in his bands and projects. I have to fix that. I run to the basement and turn off the heating, even though it's cold outside. My bones are freezing, and I'm slowly getting into the strange state of a death metal listener who needs another dose of sharp melodies. DEAD SUN is a band that dates back to 1996.
They are always a very well-played and composed tribute to melodic Swedish death metal. Their albums are literally imbued with that special Nordic melancholy. It is music that stands out most in old catacombs, near menhirs, in forest cemeteries. If you like it that way, you definitely won't go wrong. Rogga isn't changing direction, and that's a good thing. Like everyone else, I need something to hold on to, something solid and real that I can rely on. DEAD SUN is the clear definition of that.
Just floating, just letting yourself be embraced by the icy water. Like the corpse I recently saw in my dreams on the surface of a mountain lake. The calm, the pain, the fear, the beauty of sadness, the loneliness of death. You will find all of this on this recording. If you like the old EDGE OF SANITY, bits of PARADISE LOST, at times the warriors of BOLT TROWER, all wrapped up in a very clear, massive and cold sound, if you like walking through the morning mist, if you like to stop at the cemetery, I think you might also like last year's album "This Life Is A Grave". Born in pain, we wait for death from the very first moment. Time is short and there is no need to waste it. I am very glad that I finally got to this recording. It's freezing outside, snow has fallen, and the streets are gray and unwelcoming. I think, I know, I am absolutely sure what I will be listening to for the next few months. DEAD SUN is not just another Roggov band for me. On the contrary, this time I can't help but recommend their new album 100%. It has everything - good melodies, interesting passages, a captivatingly cold atmosphere. It gradually got into my head and into my veins. It became pieces of ice that froze me. In my blood and bones. An old saying goes that there is only one kind of music - good or bad. I can swear under oath that this album belongs among the chosen ones. I admit without hesitation that I still enjoy listening to it immensely and return to it very often. To my cold cellar, to old burial grounds, to long-abandoned dungeons. A freezing and dark death metal album, steeped in the melancholy and loneliness of abandoned catacombs!
