Vzduchem se vznáší cosi magického, neuchopitelného. Jakoby znovu obživly staré stíny a z podsvětí se vrátily ty nejděsivější vzpomínky. Oltář je znovu připraven, oběť je podříznuta. Smrt je cítit z každého zrnka písku a zem je nasáklá čerstvou krví. Všichni se pokloní. Bolest a utrpení, majestátnost, syrovost noční pouště, tohle všechno naleznete i na novém EP egyptských death metalistů SCARAB.
Všichni tuhle smečku určitě znáte. Pokud máte rádi propracovaný, syrový a vždy velmi dobře zvládnutý smrtící kov s krvavou aurou a mocnými orchestracemi, jste zde správně. Ne, nejsem při poslechu ve svém pokoji, ale někde daleko na východě, v katakombách pod pyramidami a než umřu, tak si čtu v Knize mrtvých.
I letos se jedná o velmi autentický, uvěřitelný zážitek. Novinka se velmi dobře poslouchá, má v sobě spoustu zajímavých momentů. Jako nějaká pradávná příšera do vás SCARAB zaseknou svůj dráp a už vás nepustí. To se alespoň stalo mě, starému psovi, který hlídá vstup do podsvětí již několik dekád. Netuším, kdo po mě jednou převezme štafetu, až odejdu do země nekonečných stínů a povolá mě vládce podsvětí Usira, ale než se tak stane, tak si budu rvát podobné nahrávky pod tlakem do hlavy. Pánové se volně inspirovali kapelami jako NILE, WORMHOLE, BEHEMOTH, IMMOLATION. Ke klasickému death metalu potom přidávají spoustu svých nápadů a invence. Nebojí se lehce experimentovat, být progresivní a dělají to zajímavých a neotřelým způsobem. Povedl se zvuk, který je náležitě masivní a dobře čitelný, řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Obal je stylový a určitě si jej zapamatujete. Hlavní je ale, ostatně jako vždycky, nakonec hudba samotná a ta je mocná, divoká, nespoutaná a cítím z ní nekonečnost spalující pouště, krvavé historie i jakousi vznešenost, která je typickým poznávacím znamením kapely. "Transmutation of Fate" se dle mého skromného názoru bude líbit všem, kteří rádi u hudby přemýšlejí a nechají se unášet temnými melodiemi na vlnách Nilu. Jakoby přede mnou ožívaly pradávné příběhy plné bolesti a utrpení. Nelze jinak, než vám novinku doporučit. Mocný, temný death metal, který vás přenese do nekonečné říše mrtvých! Spalující, mytologická nahrávka!

This year, too, it’s a very authentic, believable experience. The new album is a real pleasure to listen to and is full of interesting moments. Like some ancient monster, SCARAB sinks its claws into you and never lets go. At least, that’s what happened to me, an old dog who’s been guarding the entrance to the underworld for several decades now. I have no idea who will take over the baton from me once I depart for the land of endless shadows and am summoned by Osiris, the ruler of the underworld, but until that happens, I’ll be cramming similar recordings into my head. The guys drew loose inspiration from bands like NILE, WORMHOLE, BEHEMOTH, and IMMOLATION. They then add plenty of their own ideas and creativity to classic death metal. They aren’t afraid to experiment a bit, to be progressive, and they do it in an interesting and original way. The sound is spot on properly massive and clear, cutting through with just the right edge. The cover art is stylish and definitely memorable. But what matters most, as always, is the music itself, and it is powerful, wild, and untamed; I sense in it the infinity of the scorching desert, a bloody history, and a certain grandeur that is the band’s signature. In my humble opinion, "Transmutation of Fate" will appeal to anyone who likes to reflect while listening to music and lets themselves be carried away by dark melodies on the waves of the Nile. It’s as if ancient tales full of pain and suffering are coming to life before my eyes. I can’t help but recommend this new release to you. Powerful, dark death metal that will transport you to the endless realm of the dead! A searing, mythological recording!
