Přehrabuji se zase jednou ve starých prašivých kostech a přemýšlím nad smyslem života a smrti. Chodíme po světě, usmíváme se, milujeme, nenávidíme, zabíjíme, trápíme, aby z nás nakonec zbyla jen hromada zahnívajícího masa. Beru do rukou lopatu a kopu další hluboký hrob. Země je zmrzlá a na protějším náhrobku se usadil krkavec. Naklání hlavu na stranu a jeho oko má barvu krve. Poslouchám zrovna nové album švédských maniaků CAEDEM a připadám si zase jednou, jako bych se vrátil po časové ose zpět, do dob svého mládí.
Kapela má na svém kontě dvě EP a letošní nahrávka je jejich prvním dlouhohrajícím zásekem a příspěvkem do záhrobí. Nutno rovnou dodat, že se jedná o velmi dobře odvedené severské řemeslo, se vším, co k tomu patří. Ostré, mrazivé riffy, řev bestie, atmosféra velmi podobná té, kterou jsem se vám pokusil znázornit a popsat v úvodu dnešního článku. Tohle album je jako dobře seřízená motorová pila, kterou jednou budou rozřezány i vaše kosti. Vítejte v záhrobí!
Nahrubo nasekaná tma, ruka mrtvoly, která je chladná. Smrt čekající ve stínu, s nabroušenou kosou. Různé podoby umírání i stavy, které nastanou, až vaše tělo začnou žrát červi. Tohle všechno zde dostanete mírou vrchovatou. A ještě něco navíc, jakousi pradávnou energii, tlak, sílu, kterou má tahle smečka, stejně jako já, dávno zakódovanou v DNA. Zvuk je starý, prašivý, mrazivý a řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Chtěli byste nějaké jména, kterými se tahle smečka inspirovala? Jistě, napadají mě třeba ENTRAILS, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, NIHILIST, INTERMENT. Je to zkrátka velmi dobře zahraná klasika, která má v sobě poctivé, opravdové chvění, touhu ničit a zabíjet hudbou. Kapela vyšla ze švédského podzemí a přinesla nám pradávné ozvěny z prokletých pohřebišť. Lebky jsou zase jednou vyrovnané na hromadu, hroby exhumovány a vy si můžete naplno vychutnat skladby, které vás strhnou do hlubiny. Jasně, podobných kapel je dnes spousta, ale jen některé v sobě mají opravdovost, ryzost a naprostou autenticitu. CAEDEM patří mezi vyvolené. Navíc mě baví jejich letošní album "Tales of Bitter Ends" opravdu poslouchat. Chřestí se zde pytlem plným kostí a zombie zase jednou lezou z děr. Mají v očích touhu po čerstvém mase. A vy máte, ostatně jako vždy, dvě možnosti. Buď se nechat sežrat a užít si tohle album naplno a nebo utéct. Co si zvolíte? Osobně se rád stanu jedním z nemrtvých, koneckonců, to jsem již odnepaměti. Vážení a milí čtenáři, pokud rádi trávíte svůj čas ve starých katakombách a máte raději stín a chlad, než světlo, buďte vítáni. Tohle album vás pohřbí zaživa! Švédské death metalové ozvěny ze starých pohřebišť! Perfektně seřízená HM-2 motorová pila!

Once again, I’m rummaging through old, rotten bones, pondering the meaning of life and death. We walk this earth, smiling, loving, hating, killing, tormenting—only to end up as nothing more than a pile of rotting flesh. I pick up a shovel and dig another deep grave. The ground is frozen, and a raven has settled on the tombstone across from me. It tilts its head to the side, and its eye is the color of blood. I’m listening to the new album by the Swedish maniacs CAEDEM, and once again, I feel as though I’ve traveled back in time to the days of my youth.
The band has two EPs to their credit, and this year’s recording is their first full-length release and contribution to the afterlife. It must be said right away that this is a very well-executed piece of Nordic craftsmanship, with all the trimmings. Sharp, icy riffs, the roar of a beast, an atmosphere very similar to the one I tried to depict and describe in the introduction to today’s article. This album is like a well-tuned chainsaw that will one day cut through your bones. Welcome to the afterlife!
Roughly chopped darkness, a corpse’s hand, cold to the touch. Death waiting in the shadows, with a sharpened scythe. The various forms of dying and the states that arise once worms begin to devour your body. You’ll get all of this here in spades. And something extra—a kind of ancient energy, pressure, and power that this pack, just like me, has long had encoded in its DNA. The sound is old, grimy, chilling, and cuts with the right edge of the blade. Would you like some names that inspired this pack? Sure, ENTRAILS, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, NIHILIST, and INTERMENT come to mind. It’s simply a very well-played classic that carries an honest, genuine tremor, a desire to destroy and kill with music. The band emerged from the Swedish underground and brought us ancient echoes from cursed burial grounds. Skulls are once again piled high, graves exhumed, and you can fully savor songs that will drag you into the depths. Sure, there are plenty of similar bands today, but only a few possess genuine sincerity, purity, and absolute authenticity. CAEDEM is among the chosen few. Plus, I’m really enjoying listening to their album from this year, "Tales of Bitter Ends". They’re rattling a sack full of bones, and the zombies are crawling out of their holes once again. Their eyes are filled with a hunger for fresh flesh. And you, as always, have two options. Either let yourself be devoured and enjoy this album to the fullest, or run away. Which will you choose? Personally, I’d love to become one of the undead after all, I’ve been one since time immemorial.
