Jakoby mi někdo podal jed. Připadám si jako v románech pana Kafky. Pomalu se měním, stávám se démonem, který spí v každém z nás. Možná jsem neměl na tuhle okultní seanci chodit. Původně jsem ji bral jako legraci, něco zajímavého, co mě vytrhne ze stereotypu. Jenže teď tu stojím a nevím, co je pravda a co už lež. Kolem mě se pohybují v divokých rytmech stíny. Jed mi proniká pomalu do žil. Stejně jako nová deska britských WODE.

Postavy v kápích, zaříkávání, ale hlavně hudba, která vás jako nějaká zlá mantra přenese na onen svět. Postupně, se skvělým zvukem, obalem i spoustou zajímavých motivů. WODE se pohybují někde na hranici mezi blackem a death metalem. A činí tak s elegancí starých mistrů. 


Jednou tu po nás zůstane jenom černá, krvavá stopa. Alespoň takový pocit jsem získal poslechem novinky "Burn In Many Mirrors". Ve skladbách je obsaženo obrovské množství temnoty, chladu a beznaděje. Líbí se mi hrozně způsob, jakým jsou skladby vystavěny. Gradují, chvějí se, jsou po okraj naplněny temnou energií, načerpanou snad někde v záhrobí nebo v nekonečném vesmíru. Album je na jednu stranu drásavé, neklidné, nenechá vás ani na chvilku klidu, na druhou se ale velmi dobře poslouchá. Jedná se přesně o ten druh black death metalové seance, kde se potkávají klasické, tradiční vlivy z přelomu osmdesátých a devadesátých let s novými prvky a přístupem. Navíc songy působí jako rezavé hřeby, které vám někdo postupně zatlouká do hlavy. Najednou jsem opravdu ve starém, dávno opuštěném kostele a pouštějí mi žilou. Jakoby mě někdo zahalil do černého pláště, podal mi kostnatou ruku a stáhl mě do temných hlubin. Topím se, lapám po dechu, přidávám hlasitost, měl bych si rozdrásat obličej do krve, ale není na to čas, musím nahrávku stále poslouchat dokola. Black death metalová okultní seance všech prokletých!

It's like someone handed me poison. I feel like in Mr. Kafka's novels. I change slowly, becoming a demon that sleeps in each of us. Maybe I shouldn't have gone to this occult session. I originally took it as a joke, something interesting that pulls me out of the stereotype. But now I'm standing here and I don't know what is true and what is lie. Shadows move around me in wild rhythms. The poison slowly penetrates my veins. Like the new British WODE record.

Characters in hoods, incantations, but mainly music that will transport you to the other world like some evil mantra. Gradually, with great sound, cover and lots of interesting motifs. WODE are somewhere on the border between black and death metal. And they do it with the elegance of old masters.


One day, only a black, bloody trail will remain. At least that's is a feeling which I got by listening to the new "Burn In Many Mirrors" album. The songs contain a huge amount of darkness, cold and hopelessness. I really like the way the songs are built. They graduate, tremble, are filled to the brim with dark energy, perhaps drawn somewhere in the graveyard or in the infinite universe. On the one hand, the album is harrowing, restless, it won't leave you for a moment's peace, but on the other hand, is very well listenable. This is exactly the kind of black death metal session where classic, traditional influences from the turn of the eighties and nineties meet with new elements and approach. In addition, the songs look like rusty nails, which someone gradually beats into your head. Suddenly I'm really in an old, long-abandoned church and they're cutting my veins. It was as if someone had wrapped me in a black cloak, held out my bony hand, and pulled me into the dark depths. I'm drowning, gasping for breath, turning up the volume, I should scratch my face with blood, but there's no time for that, I still have to listen to the recording again and again. Black death metal occult session of all the cursed!

Když někdy vyprávím o době, když jsem byl mladej, tak mi někteří nevěří, že jsme tohle všechno mohli zažít. Jenže on nebyl internet, lidi nevysedávali donekonečna u obrazovek, ale chodili ven a do hospod. Třeba zrovna včera se nám s naší partou zase všechno trošku zvrtlo. Markétka byla pořád zasněná a vzpomínala na svýho bejvalýho. Já to ještě nevěděl, ženským moc nerozumím, ale holky podle všeho už něco tušily. On ji sice svázal a chtěl seřezat a bůhví, jak by to dopadlo, kdybychom nepřišli se Sabathem, ale ona pro mě z nějakého neznámého důvodu toužila svýmu bývalýmu magorovi pomoc. Taky jsem pořád řešil Plzeň, což všechny neskutečně rozčilovalo. Proč od nás utíkáš? Zradil si!

Jo, trošku víc jsem pil, protože v hospodě jsem na tohle všechno zapomněl. Teď se mnou chodil nejvíc Venca, kterej mi mluvil do duše. Hele, srovnej se, proč se s Markétou hádáte, co vaši a jejich rozvod. Bylo toho moc. Měl jsem všeho plný zuby. Nejlíp mi bylo v zaplivaným pajzlu U Hymrů. Hezky v rohu, u našeho stolu. Přijdou nějaký pankáči a jestli jim prý koupím pivo. Koneckonců proč ne, Venca si bude mít aspoň s kým povídat a přestane mi dávat nepříjemný otázky. Nevěděl jsem jak dál, co po mě Markéta chce? Co mám udělat. Tak jsem se zhulil. Poprvé v životě doopravdy. Ono totiž Boleslav není Praha a i když si někteří hráli na tvrďáky a kouřili trávu, tak to byly většinou rostliny doma pěstovaný, hrozně natajno,  v obývácích a sklenících u babiček. To jsou ale krásný rostlinky. Nikomu nedocházelo, že je to konopí, asi si mysleli, že si z něj budeme dělat oblečení.

Sem tam někdo přinesl i technický konopí a všichni pak dělali, jak jsou děsně zhulený, přitom to nikomu nemohlo nic dělat. Pro mladý to bylo přitažlivý stejně jako chlast a sex. Já jsem se tedy těmhle partičkám hodně vyhýbal, možná i kvůli tomu, že když jsem trávu vyzkoušel, tak to se mnou ani nehnulo. Jenže tohle byl model z Prahy. Od pravých pěstitelů. A Venca na mě byl děsně nasranej. Řekl mi, že jestli to vezmu do huby, tak se mnou končí. Nemám prý vyvádět, srknout si radši rumu a držet hubu. Nojo, ale já nevěděl kudy kam, moje radary byly zesláblý. Měl jsem sto chutí se na všechno vysrat. Připadalo mi, že se mi hroutí zase jednou celej svět. Padá mi na hlavu. Byl jsem jako na trní. Joint šel dvakrát do kola, pořád jsem si myslel, že to ustojím, ale pak jsem se začal šíleně tlemit. Výčepák, když to ucítil, nás vykopal ven. Z Vency jsem viděl jen odcházející koženou bundu. 

Tak jo, budu pařit s punkáčema, ti mi aspoň rozumí. Chápejte to tak, že tahle partička byla proti všemu a všem. Asi jako zrovna teď já. Vzali mě na pořádnou jízdu městem. Holubičky na lavičkách. Tanec v parku. Plivání na výlohu. Přemet na dětském hřišti. Byl jsem chvilku letadlo, pak potápěč v jezírku. Tráva se mnou mávala ze strany na stranu. Pamatuji si nějakej byt, holky s kokrhelama na hlavě. Neopustil mě pud sebezáchovy, dodnes to nechápu, protože někdy kolem osmé večer začal někdo nabízet papírky napuštěné nějakým sajrajtem. Nedal jsem si. Nějaké děvče se ke mě lísalo, byla nafrčená, ale já mám z podobných typů strach. Zachránilo jedině to, že jsem nablil křečkovi do akvárka. Majitelku bytu to naštvalo, což jsem nechápal a vyhodila mě sprostě ven. Koženou botou. Jak jinak.

Byl jsem pořád sjetej, tak jsem chodil městem pořád dokola, pořád jsem si sahal na srdce, protože jsem měl každou chvíli pocit, že mi pukne. Smál jsem se, až se lidi ohlíželi, pak zase brečel. Dodnes nechápu, co jsem kouřil. Bylo mi ale tak blbě, že jsem si sednul do podchodu a usnul. Asi jsem tam musel být celou noc, protože mě probudili dělníci, jak šli do škodovky. Fuj, zase nějaká smažka. Odplivli si. Sáhnul jsem si instinktivně na zadní kapsu. Peněženka pryč, doklady taky. Někdo mi vyřízl kus džínů. Ufff. Co teď? Šel jsem za Vencou, ale neotvíral mi. Určitě je doma, ale nic. Byl fakt naštvanej. Musím za Janou, ta má pro mě vždycky pochopení. Otevře v pyžamu. Vytočená, že jsem ji budil. Odvyprávím u kafe svůj příběh a ona jen kroutí hlavou.

Hele, tráva byla pro naši partu už přes čáru. Měli jsme v živé paměti, co drogy udělali s Vencou. Připadal jsem si, jako bych porušil přikázání. Nezahulíš. Jana má proslov. Občas se jí snažím přerušit, ale nedá se. Pro tohle není omluva, říká mi. Posereš si celej život, to ti povídám. Nejde o jednu trávu, ale o to, že se chceš zase zničit. Utíkáš od problémů, máš smutnej pohled. Svěřím se s problémy s Markétou. Chvíli přemýšlí a pak mě obejme. Usnu u ní v posteli. Nikdo mě nehledá, nikdo mě nepotřebuje. Asi bude fakt lepší, když zdrhnu do Plzně, uteču jak malej kluk. Do velkýho světa. Tam budou určitě jiný možnosti, spousta chytrých lidí, kteří mě budou chápat. Žádná prdel jako Boleslav. Byl jsem hloupej, ale já takhle fakt přemýšlel. 

Na jednu stranu jsem hrozně chtěl dát všechno do pořádku. Být dál v naší skvělý partě. Žít obyčejný život, který je nakonec vždycky nejlepší, ať si každý říká co chce, ale zároveň jsem byl šíleně neklidnej. Chtěl jsem ještě objevovat, toulat se, učit se. Měl jsem pocit, že mi všechno protéká skrz prsty. Jdu domů. Markéta mě skoro ani nepozdraví. Co jsem ti udělal? Tobě nevadí, že jsem byl celou noc pryč? Netečná, smutná. Trápil jsem se, asi i víc než ona. Pouštím si smutnou muziku, propadám se do depresí. Mám děsnej hlad, že sním tatranku s hořčicí. Proč si nic nenakoupila? Podívá se na mě a pak mi řekne, že ho stejně miluje. Cože? Je to jak z blbý knížky, z debilního filmu. Vždyť tě mohl zabít? Proč? ptám se stále dokola, ale ona to nedokáže vysvětlit. Ta krásná, jemná, éterická dívka, která mi stále dokola opakovala, že jsem pro ní jediný, se mi ztrácela. 

Naštvu se. Jdu k Hymrům. Sednu si k punkáčům. Všichni se děsně smějou tomu křečkovi. Je tam i jedna z holek, co se včera tak tulila. Trávu odmítnu, ale ožeru se tak, že nemůžu chodit. Nevím, jak se dostanu domů. Pořád sedí u okna. Udělám tu chybu, že na ní mluvím. Kecám ožralý nesmysly. Pak si pustím DEATH. Hodně nahlas, až na nás přijdou sousedi. Pošlu je do prdele. Nadávám na Boleslav. Vy jste mě zradili, ne já! Myslím si to, vypiju jedno pivo a usnu radši v kuchyni, abych nemusel do postele s Markétou. Je mi úplně stejně blbě, jako když jsem se zhulil jako mraky. Ráno mě všechno bolí. Moje holka (je to ještě vůbec moje holka?) děsně nahlas šramotí. Podle mě to dělá naschvál. Kam se poděla příjemná dívka z minula? Co jsem zase podělal a podělal jsem vůbec něco já? Chci o tom mluvit, ale nechce. Tak si sbalím věci, řeknu Sabathovi a vrátím se domů k mámě. Otec už je totiž pryč, konečně se odstěhoval. A jsem zase jednou sám. Připadám si šíleně opuštěnej. Jedinej, kdo mě chápe, je pes. Aspoň tomu chci věřit.

Vize je taková, že každou neděli vyjde jeden příběh (pokud mi do toho tedy něco nevleze). Všechny pak budou postupně doplňovány zde (pravý sloupec na stránkách):

Ve svých fantaziích jsem si všechno představoval trošku jinak. Tolik špíny, chladu a temnoty jsem opravdu nečekal. Ve zlých snech sice všechno působilo děsivě, ale realita je o hodně krutější. Vstup do podzemí chrání Kerberos, tříhlavý pes, stejně jako se píše ve starých bájích, ale připomíná spíše šílenou bestii, démona, než jen obyčejného psa. Řeka Styx je plná nafouklých mrtvol a Cháron má hlas, který skřípe jako rezavé dveře. Jediné, co poznávám jasně a zřetelně, je hudba.

V podzemí jsou norští thrash metalisté NEKROMANTHEON jako doma. I nová deska musela být nahrávána v temných zákoutích Hádovy říše. Je neméně černá, zběsilá, divoká, smrdí sírou a rozseká vás na malé kousky. Potvrzuji, tohle je thrash metal staré školy, u kterého pukají zdi tlakem. 


NEKROMANTHEON ctí nejen všechny zákonitosti podzemí, ale také thrash metal ve stylu SODOM, AURA NOIR, DESASTER, SLAYER, PROTECTOR, DEATHHAMMER, CONDOR a dalších, kteří jasně pochopili,  o čem je rychlost, špína a tma. Norové oproti jiným ale vynikají v několika věcech - mají skvělý prašivý zvuk, úžasný obal (Zbigniew Bielak) a navíc dokáží napsat motivy, které vás vykostí zaživa. Připadám si jako na nějakém velkém koncertě v katakombách. Tančíme se zombie, duše nemrtvých poletují kolem a na pódiu stojí kapela na hromadě ze starých kostí. Norové sice nepřinášejí do záhrobí nic nového, ale nové album "Visions of Trismegistos" se skvěle poslouchá, má v sobě pradávnou thrash metalovou sílu a drive. Fanoušci old schoolu a naprosté tmy budou spokojeni a ostatní můžou jít, víte kam (do pekla!). Pálí mě mozek v hlavě, chce vyskočit ven. Uvařil se ve vlastní šťávě a rychlých riffech. Smrt má dnes zase jednou rande se Satanem. Platím Cháronovi vlastní duší, peníze jsem všechny propil. Přidávám hlasitost a neskutečně si užívám true přístup kapely, uvěřitelnost, opravdovost. Existuje jen jediný, plesnivý thrash metal, který obstojí i v podsvětí. NEKROMANTHEON jej vybrousili k dokonalosti. Nahrávka, která vás předhodí prašivým psům! Thrash metal až za hrob!

In my fantasies, I imagined everything a little differently. I really didn't expect so much dirt, cold and darkness. In bad dreams, everything seemed scary, but the reality is much more cruel. The entrance to the underground is protected by Kerberos, a three-headed dog, just as it is written in ancient myths, but it resembles a mad beast, a demon, rather than just an ordinary dog. The river Styx is full of bloated corpses, and Charon has a voice that creaks like a rusty door. The only thing I know clearly and distinctly is the music.

In the underground, Norwegian thrash metallers NEKROMANTHEON feel at home. Even the new record had to be recorded in the dark corners of the Serpent Empire. It is no less black, furious, wild, stinks of sulphur and cuts you into small pieces. I confirm, this is an old school thrash metal where the walls are bursting with pressure.


NEKROMANTHEON honors not only all the laws of the underground, but also thrash metal in the style of SODOM, AURA NOIR, DESASTER, SLAYER, PROTECTOR, DEATHHAMMER, CONDOR and others who have clearly understood what speed, dirt and darkness are all about. Compared to others, the Norwegians excel in several things - they have a great dusty sound, an amazing cover (Zbigniew Bielak) and, in addition, they can write motifs that will make you live alive. I feel like I'm at a big concert in the catacombs. We dance with zombies, the souls of the undead fly around and a band stands on a pile of old bones on the stage. The Norwegians don't bring anything new to the grave, but the new album "Visions of Trismegistos" is great to listen to, it has the ancient thrash metal power and drive. Fans of old school and complete darkness will be satisfied and others can go, you know where (to hell!). My brain is burning in my head, he want to jump out. He is cooked in his own juice and quick riffs. Death has another date with Satan today. I pay Charon with my own soul, I have drunk all the money. I add volume and I really enjoy the band's true approach, believability, authenticity. There is only one, mouldy thrash metal that will withstand the underworld. NEKROMANTHEON honed it to perfection. A recording that will throw you to dusty dogs! Thrash metal to the grave!

U některých jedinců nebylo poznat, zda to jsou ještě lidé nebo už obživlé mrtvoly. Přeměna v zombie probíhala postupně. Hluboko pod naším městem, v kanálech, kam se obyčejní lidé báli vstoupit. Špinavá stoka, zápach rozkládajícího se masa. Nepomáhal oheň, ani jedovatý plyn. Nakonec podobná místa vždy přitáhla všechny prokleté. Připomínalo mi to celé živoucí, ošklivý organismus, který když vás chytí do svých drápů, tak z něj není úniku. Takhle nějak si představuji reálný vstup do pekla. Netrvalo to dlouho a byl jsem ihned pokousán a proklet.

Velmi podobnou, špinavou a destruktivní náladu má i první dlouhohrající album francouzských death metalistů NERVOUS DECAY. Poslouchám jej stále dokola a obzvlášť v noci vidím zlé přízraky. Přišly si pro mě. Stáhly mě do hlubiny. 


Máte rádi klasický death metal devadesátých let, když své nejlepší časy zažívaly kapely jako DEATH, MASSACRE, PESTILENCE, MERCYLESS a spoustu dalších, které kdysi utvářely i můj názor na hudbu jako takovou? Pak by se vám mohli líbit i NERVOUS DECAY, které ctí staré pořádky bezezbytku. A to jak po zvukové stránce (Laurent Cottreau), tak i obalem (Keshalan). Deska je hudbou pro všechny staré prašivé psy, pro fanoušky temnoty. Nemrtví se usmívají, ve stoce se převalují další nafouklá těla. Smrt je při poslechu hodně blízko. Občas sice kapela možná až moc popustí uzdu své fantazii a některé momenty jsou trošku roztříštěné, ale to rozhodně nemůže pokazit celkový hnilobný dojem, který z nahrávky mám. Toulám se rád a často podzemím. Nahlížím do temných koutů, vyhledávám si pro sebe jen zkažené kousky masa. NERVOUS DECAY se stali na nějaký čas mými velmi schopnými průvodci záhrobím. Jejich album má v sobě totiž pradávnou energii, kterou mám tolik rád. Dokáží zahrát neurvale, syrově, přikovat mě na zeď. Exhumovat mé tělo a znovu mě pohřbít. Temný death metal staré školy, který vás vykostí zaživa! Velmi dobře!

Some individuals did not know whether they were still humans or already living corpses. The transformation into a zombie took place gradually. Deep below our city, in the canals that ordinary people were afraid to enter. Dirty sewer, the smell of decaying meat. Neither fire nor poison gas helped. In the end, similar places have always attracted all the damned. It reminded me of a whole living, ugly organism that, when caught in its claws, there is no escape from it. This is how I somehow imagine a real entry into hell. It didn't take long and I was immediately bitten and cursed.

The first full-length album of French death metalists NERVOUS DECAY has a very similar, dirty and destructive mood. I listen to him all the time and I see evil ghosts, especially at night. They came for me. They pulled me into the depths.


Do you like the classic death metal of the nineties, when bands like DEATH, MASSACRE, PESTILENCE, MERCYLESS and many others experienced their best times, which once shaped my opinion of music as such? Then you might also like NERVOUS DECAY, which honors the old order to the fullest. Both in terms of sound (Laurent Cottreau) and cover (Keshalan). The record is music for all old dusty dogs, for fans of darkness. The undead are smiling, other bloated bodies are rolling in the sewer. Death is very close when listening. Sometimes the band may unleash their imagination and some moments are a bit fragmented, but it certainly can not spoil the overall putrefaction impression I have from the recording. I wander around and often go underground. I look into the dark corners, looking for only rotten pieces of meat for myself. NERVOUS DECAY became for a time my very capable guides to the grave. Their album has an ancient energy that I love so much. They can play rudely, raw, nailing me to the wall. Exhume my body and bury me again. Old school dark death metal that will make you alive alive! Very good!

A few questions - interview with death metal band from France - NERVOUS DECAY.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Hi, thank you for giving us this interview ! We are Nervous Decay, a french death metal band from Nantes. We have been in existence since the end of 2017. The band is composed of Nathan and Grégoire who play guitars, Guilhem on the drum and Guillaume on vocals and bass.


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The production of this album was selfmade, since it was recorded at Guilhem’s house with our own equipment (instruments, microphones, amps, etc…) and some of our soundtech’s mics. We had a quite precise idea of the sound we wanted before the recording.

Laurent, our soundtech, helped us a lot for placing the mics and doing the takes. He was also in charge of the mix and the mastering. We guided him a lot all along the mixing process, giving him our impressions and feedback. We really like what he did in the end ! So we thank him a lot !

We are glad to have this kind of “oldschool” sound, with the organic drums, scooped guitar and grinding bass, while keeping a lot of overall punch.


How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

For the moment, our album was published in CD format only. 600 copies were pressed, we got 200 of them and the labels kept 400 for the promotion and sales. Don’t forget that you can listen to it for free on our bandcamp !

We hope that our debut will be warmly welcomed and that we will have to make some reissue ! Maybe some vinyls will be edited later !

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

It depends on the track, everyone in the band contributes more or less on the lyrical content. First we select a theme we would like to talk about and that fits well the music we wrote for the song. We try to depict a credible situation then push its absurdity to the most extreme point, so that it really hits the listener and encourages him to think about that situation.

As a whole, the lyrics deal with the human difficulties in order to think freely and efficiently in modern society. Despite the fact that knowledge has never been as available and vast as now, mental laziness and uniformisation of thoughts is really common. Profit often seems to be more essential than progress, wisdom and peace.


Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The logo has been created by Arnaud Pavaillon, Guillaume’s brother. The cover artwork was actually painted on a canvas, and it was made by Keshalan. He is a french artist and also a friend. Both worked hard to build our visual image and they really nailed it !

We are pretty active on our social networks ! That’s not our favourite part but we are not in the 90’s anymore, and today they can’t be overlooked as it is part of the game ! Therefore we provide our audience all the pertinent information through our social media, facebook and instagram, so that they have maximum access to our music and news.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

Our debut album is released via Great Dane Records ! It’s an associative French label that publishes only Death and Thrash Metal music. We knew them thanks to the bands we toured with in eastern France, and we immediately liked the consistency and quality of their roaster!

The partnership is going well, all the information being given at its start. They’re available for our requests and the same goes with us ! The label is doing a great job promoting and advertising for our album, and we have a lot of album reviews and interviews thanks to this!


Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

We are all four huge fans of Death Metal, and we all agree on the fact that the band Death was a milestone in extreme music history. We also love bands like Morbid Angel, Autopsy, Atheist, Immolation, Bolt Thrower, Carcass, Pestilence and many more, for the innovation they brought into the genre, as well as being damn raw and aggressive !

The inspiration comes from all the bands that wrote intense and complex riffs, and that we mixed in our own guitar playing style, we could mention Exodus, Slayer, Death, Morbid Angel, Megadeth… We also love to incorporate epic parts in our songs, and bands like At the gates, Gorgoroth, or Judas Priest also gave us a bit of inspiration. The Heavy Metal influence can be heard during the solo parts mostly!

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

We contacted a lot of labels, as we were willing to have a partnership for the release of our debut album, and we only targetted ones specialized extreme metal ! The vast majority didn’t respond at all, some responded but declined, and only few gave a positive answer. As a new band, it is not easy to find a label willing to give you a chance, regardless of the quality of the music.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

We played about fifteen gigs between june 2019 and march 2020 ! We really like playing in small associative places, as the people are passionate and spend all their energy during the show ! Playing in large venues is also great, because it’s nice to have professional conditions, with our sound and a light tech, that allow us to do our best performance possible ! The most enjoyable gig we gave was probably at “La Mine” in Strasbourg, in january 2020, the connection with our audience was amazing!


What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

We will keep on working hard ! We plan on touring extensively whenever it will be possible again ! We are ready to visit every town in France as well as to move abroad in order to give a lot of gigs and touch a broader audience !! We will gladly come to Czech Republic if the opportunity presents itself!

On the other hand, we’ve already started composing new tracks, and for the moment it sounds really promising!!

Nejhorší bývá, když se zlé sny stanou realitou. Zdá se vám často o válce, o tom, jak vás někdo pronásleduje. Nakonec vás bodne nožem do břicha. Desetkrát se probudíte, po jedenácté zemřete v hrozných křečích. Přízraky ožívají, toulají se temnými ulicemi a touží po čerstvé krvi. Smrt a život, snažíme se je pochopit, ale existuje i něco hroznějšího, tajemnějšího. Bývá to obsaženo v dobré hudbě, v ostrých a chladných skladbách. Stačí si dobře vybrat. 

DEATHSWARN jsou kapela ze Švédska, která je složena z bývalých členů skvělých SARCASM. Jedná se o zkušené veterány, kteří hrají od srdce. Výsledkem je druhé dlouhohrající album kapely, které je doslova narvané ostrými a ledovými melodiemi. Vítejte na starodávném obřadu, démoni jsou opět zde. 


DEATHSWARN jsou vojáci temnoty, bojovníci za práva nemrtvých. Skladby mají podobnou atmosféru, jako songy od BOLT THROWER, ASPHYX, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED. Jedná se studený death metal staré školy, který nejlépe pochopí ti, kteří si utvářeli svůj názor na hudbu v devadesátých letech minulého století. Říká se, že starého psa novým kouskům nenaučíte. V tomto případě je to jen a jen dobře. Při poslechu jsem opravdu někde ve válce, kde mezi sebou na život a na smrt bojují přízraky s démony o můj holý život. Líbí se mi zvuk desky, obal už trošku méně, motiv je sice zajímavý, ale potřeboval by doladit. To ale neplatí o hudbě, která je jedním slovem vynikající. Alespoň pro mě, který se rád a často toulám v záhrobí. K albu "Forward into Oblivion" se s chutí a dlouho vracím. Zaujalo mě svojí opravdovostí, ryzostí, zajímavými motivy, ale hlavně náladou, která je svým způsobem až melancholická. Je hrozně příjemné potkávat své vlastní démony, bojovat s nimi a za pomocí muziky i vítězit. Přízraky ožívají, toulají se temnými ulicemi a touží po čerstvé krvi. Myslím, že jsem zde správně. Starý prašivý death metal, který vás probodne ledovým ostřím!

DEATHSWARM are a band from Sweden, which is composed of former members of the great SARCASM. These are experienced veterans who play from the heart. The result is the band's second full-length album, which is literally packed with sharp and icy melodies. Welcome to the ancient ceremony, the demons are here again.


DEATHSWARM are soldiers of darkness, fighters for the rights of the undead. The songs have a similar atmosphere as songs from BOLT THROWER, ASPHYX, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED. It is the cold death metal of the old school, which is best understood by those who formed their opinion on music in the 1990s. It is said that you will not teach an old dog new tricks. In this case, it's just fine. When I listen, I am really somewhere in a war, where ghosts and demons fight for their bare lives for life and death. I like the sound of the album, the cover is a bit less, the motif is interesting, but it would need to be fine-tuned. But this is not the case with music, which is excellent in one word. At least for me, who likes and often wanders in the grave. I am happy to return to the album "Forward into Oblivion" for a long time. I was fascinated by its authenticity, purity, interesting motives, but mainly by the mood, which is in a way even melancholic. It's very nice to meet your own demons, fight them and win with the help of music. Ghosts come to life, roam the dark streets, long for fresh blood. I think I'm right here. Old dusty death metal that will pierce you with an ice blade!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Hey, Jakub, thanks for your interest in our music! We are CRYPTS from Münster, Germany, and we play Death Metal in the oldschool vein. I guess, we started this band around 2017/ 2018.


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

We recorded the album at Necrospell Studios in Bottrop, Germany. It ´s in the north Ruhr-Area and about an hour-ride to get there.

The recordings took a while as we recorded each instrument successively, starting with the drums and continuing with guitars, bass and vocals.

It was very relaxed and comfortable – truly an allround carefree package with a bunch of drinks and good food.

Skjeld, a mate, was responsible for engineering, mixing and mastering and we think he did a really good job!

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

The Album was released on March, 19th, 2021 by This Charming Man Records as 12´´ vinyl in two colours (red and black) as well as on CD. Further it ´s available as digital download.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

The lyrics have been written by our drummer as well as by the vocalist. They mostly deal with classic type of horror issues with a dash of horror-b-movie-aesthetics.


Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The logo has been created by the vocalist except for the skull above. The skull has been drawn by Sebastian Jerke (http://www.sebastianjerke.de/ ), a friend of ours, who took care for the great artwork as well. The layout was complemented by Jakob Maser (https://www.jakobmaser.com/ ).

Both, the guitarist and bass-player, are taking care of business if it comes to social networks. We are on bandcamp (https://cryptsdeath.bandcamp.com/releases), facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Crypts-Deathmetal-106700557558180/ ) and on instagram.

Yes, we guess these things are a necessary evil nowadays.


Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We are on This Charming Man Records (https://thischarmingmanrecords.de/ ), a really cool label here from Münster. Chris, the Label-boss, is a really music-enthusiast and a cool and relaxed guy who made a good offer. He has a pretty good distribution and promotion and at least: Support your local underground!

Yes, we ´re very happy with it!

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

We love the oldschool metal from the 80´s and early 90´s. Maybe you can hear some influences on our album...

Inspiration comes –from time to time – by life itself and, of course we have to mention the good old horror movies again. What ´d you expect from frowsty oldschool Death Metal farts?

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

Yes, of course we sent demos to various labels! We had quite some good offers and are satisfied with our decision in the end. What more can you expect?


How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

Due to the corona-situation we are happy, if a simple rehearsal is possible. Our last gig took place more than one year ago! We played with Repulsive Feast and Lik in Kassel.

Other cool gigs were support-slots for Jungle Rot and Sodom.

I think that both types of gigs provide an attraction, but I guess that you can create more of a vibe in a gloomy club.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

We want to play some more cool gigs, some festivals and are already planning a new record.

To play a tour with a nice package would be great as well, of course!

KNIŽNÍ TIPY - Outsider - Stephen King (2019)

Takhle mám Kinga rád. Na malém městečku v Americe, kde se začnou dít divné věci. Knihu jsem četl už před delší dobou, ale zase jsem si na ní vzpomněl. Jednak jsem viděl i seriál a také se v mém okolí objevil člověk, který mi připomínal opravdu Outsidera. Ne že by byl takovou bestií, ale také mi připadalo, že se živí smutkem a utrpením. Hlavní motiv knihy je opravdu zajímavý. Někde mezi realitou a snem, v temných zákoutích lidské mysli, tam musel celý příběh vznikat.

King má velký dar vyprávět. Umí být napínavý, ale i lidský, člověk má pocit, že s postavami doslova žije. Fantazie pracuje na plné obrátky, najednou je bůhví kolik v noci a vy musíte ráno vstávat. Ještě pár stránek. S rudými víčky pak ráno jdete temnými ulicemi města směrem do práce a když se v houští peleší dva ptáci, tak by se ve vás krve nedořezal, jak se leknete. Jsem si naprosto jistý, že lidé živící se smutkem a utrpením druhých opravdu existují. Copak vás někdy nešokuje, jak se někteří jedinci chovají? Kde se bere zlo? King sice nedává přímou odpověď, ale spíše napovídá. Je tajemný. 

Po knize i seriálu jsem si uvědomil, že číst podobné knížky není jenom napínavá záležitost, lehké podráždění fantazie, ale i jakési spojení s autorem. Stejně jako skvělé Růženky, je i Outsider pro mě parádním dílem. Jinak bych jej nepřečetl několikrát po sobě. A  to já zase tak často nedělám. Navíc, když se rozhlédnu, mám pocit, že zlo a temnota kolem někdy pluje jako rozbouřená řeka. Ralph je postavou, která je mě osobně hrozně sympatická. King je jenom jeden. Jsem fakt zvědavý, kdo jej jednou nahradí. Podle mě to nejde. Outsidera lze jenom doporučit!

Když je v městském parku zavražděn jedenáctiletý chlapec, spolehliví očití svědci bez váhání označí za viníka oblíbeného trenéra Terryho Maitlanda. Důkaz DNA a otisky prstů potvrzují, že zločin byl spáchán tímto rodinou milovaným mužem. Detektiv Ralph Anderson, jehož syna Maitland také kdysi trénoval, otřesen brutálním způsobem zabití, dává příkaz zatknout podezřelého ve veřejném představení. Ale Maitland má alibi. A další pátrání potvrzuje, že ten den byl skutečně jinde. Anderson a okresní prokurátor sledují stopy, vyšetřování se přesouvá z Ohia do Texasu a začínají se objevovat děsivé odpovědi.

Stephen King opět předvádí své mistrovství a graduje příběh do téměř nesnesitelného napětí. Terry Maitland vypadá jako fajn chlapík a člověk přece nemůže být na dvou místech najednou. Nebo může?

Ve vzduchu bylo cítit napětí. Zvířata hledala úkryt a mraky byly nízko. Mám rád chvíle před bouří. Jsou nabité energií. Jakoby se vzduchem vznášela elektřina. Setmělo se a najednou nastalo ticho. Napětí a strach. Pak to přišlo. Nikdo nečekal takovou smršť. Nezůstal kámen na kameni. Poničené domy, roztrhaná těla. Z nebe olizovaly zemi jedovaté blesky. Do smrti, která nastane každou chvíli, nezapomenu na klečícího muže, který jako poslední věřil tomu, že nás něco nebo někdo zachrání. Rozhlédněte se kolem sebe. Myslím, že to nebude dlouho trvat. Už vidím v dálce černé mraky. 

Polští veteráni TRAUMA jsou dlouhá léta mojí oblíbenou kapelou. Po loňské skvělé desce "Ominous Black" (recenze a rozhovor dole pod článkem), přichází pánové s dalším EP. Tři temné a zákeřné skladby, plus jeden cover od GOREFEST. Apokalypsa dávno začala.



TRAUMA i letos připomíná démony vyslané z pekla, aby nás zničili svojí hudbou. Ostré, mohutné riffy, motivy, které vám vyrvou vnitřnosti z těla, neproniknutelná tma a tradičně skvělý zvuk (Hertz Studio), pochmurný obal (Mariusz Lewandowski) - tohle všechno dělá z novinky skvělou záležitost nejen pro pravé věrné fanoušky, ale i pro všechny, kdo mají rádi tmu. Kapela jde stále ve stopách třeba takových SLAYER, PESTILENCE, MORBID ANGEL, GOREFEST, HATE ETERNAL, NEVERMORE, NILE, VITAL REMAINS, MASTER, KRABATHOR, ASPHYX, GORTAL, VADER, letos je ale ještě víc temnější, morbidnější. Jakoby nemrtví opravdu byli vpuštěni na zem. Touží po krvi a pomstě. "Acrimony" je death metalovou bouří, ze které šlehají blesky na všechny strany. Album není jen skvěle odvedeným řemeslem, ale i kusem nahrubo nasekané tmy, vzteku, nenávisti. Deska se valí kupředu jako černá řeka plná zkažené krve, zlých vzpomínek a šílenství. Rozdrásá ti obličej. Zemři a znovu se naroď! Nakonec zůstane jenom spálená země. Démonický smrtící kov par excellence!

There was tension in the air. The animals sought shelter and the clouds were low. I like the moments before the storm. They are full of energy. It was as if electricity were floating in the air. It was getting dark and suddenly there was silence. Tension and fear. Then it came. No one expected such a whirlwind. There was no stone left. Damaged houses, torn bodies. Toxic lightning licked the ground from the sky. Until the death that comes at any moment, I will not forget the kneeling man who last believed that something or someone would save us. Look around you. I don't think it will take long. I can already see black clouds in the distance.

Polish veterans TRAUMA have been my favorite band for many years. After last year's great album "Ominous Black" (review and interview below the article), the gentlemen are coming with another EP. Three dark and insidious songs, plus one cover by GOREFEST. The apocalypse began a long time ago.

TRAUMA again this year reminds us of demons sent from hell to destroy us with their music. Sharp, powerful riffs, motifs that will snatch your entrails from your body, impenetrable darkness and traditionally great sound (Hertz Studio), gloomy cover (Mariusz Lewandowski) - all this makes the news a great affair not only for true loyal fans, but also for everyone who like darkness. The band is still following in the footsteps of SLAYER, PESTILENCE, MORBID ANGEL, GOREFEST, HATE ETERNAL, NEVERMORE, NILE, VITAL REMAINS, MASTER, KRABATHOR, ASPHYX, GORTAL, VADER, but this year it is even darker, more morbid. As if the undead were really let on the ground. He longs for blood and revenge. "Acrimony" is a death metal storm from which lightning strikes in all directions. The album is not only a great craft, but also a piece of roughly chopped darkness, rage, hatred. The plate rolls forward like a black river full of corrupt blood, bad memories and madness. It scratches your face. Die and be born again! In the end, only the scorched earth will remain. Demonic deadly metal par excellence!

Postava v kápi, která vystoupí z husté mlhy. Bez tváře, připomíná siluetu ze zlých snů, ducha, který vás přišel navštívit. Skřehotavý hlas, který vás láká do záhrobí. Ty jsi má Smrt? Přijmete pozvání a jdete spolu do staré opuštěné hrobky. Její kostnatá ruka zakončená drápy se vám zadírá do masa. To abyste neutekli. Padá na vás tíseň a nekonečný smutek. Tak tohle je můj konec? Rezavý nůž, který pamatuje mnohé, je pozvednut a s razancí zabodnut do vašich vnitřností. Ukrutná bolest, ale také úleva. Odcházíš na onen svět s úsměvem. Víš totiž, že se tam bude hrát death metal.

Každý si představujeme smrt jinak. Italské maniaky HELSLAVE sleduji od jejich začátků. Vždycky se mi líbil jejich přístup k hudbě, takové to pradávné nadšení, které se podle mého nedá naučit. Musíte jej mít v sobě, musí být vaší součástí. Novinka "From The Sulphur Depths" je toho jasným důkazem. I letos dostanete ledový, temný death metal té nejvyšší jakosti. 

 

Jako první zaujme formální stránka desky. Pod obalem je podepsán Juanjo Castellano a pod zvukem zase Dan Swanö, tedy záruka toho, že bude vše v nejlepším pořádku. A také je. Při skladbách se lámou kosti a na cover se nemohu vynadívat. Hlavní je ale hudba, která je přesně tím druhem skvělého záhrobního zážitku, který si potřebuji často a s chutí dávkovat do žil. Jedovatý, démonický, surový a zároveň melodický death metal staré školy. Při poslechu si často vzpomenete na kapely jako BLOODBATH, DISMEMBER, EVOCATION, DESULTORY, HYPOCRISY, AT THE GATES. HELSLAVE navíc přinášejí kus sebe samého, mají vlastní výraz a drtí lebky s nadšením a temnou silou. Album se velmi dobře poslouchá, stalo se na dlouhou dobu i mým odrazem v zrcadle. Rakve praskají tlakem, zombie tančí na vašich hrobech. Stará dáma Smrt se usmívá, takhle se totiž má hrát ryzí death metal. Sedí na svém trůnu a Italové obětují na její počest. Pokud máte rádi smrtící kov a s chutí navštěvujete nekonečné chodby podsvětí Hádovy říše, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. "From The Sulphur Depths" je chladnou ozvěnou ze záhrobí! Skvěle!

A figure in a hood emerging from a thick fog. Faceless, it resembles the silhouette of bad dreams, the spirit that came to visit you. A crackling voice that lures you into the grave. Are you my Death? You accept the invitation and go together to the old abandoned tomb. Her bony hand, finished with claws, sticks into your flesh. That you don't run away. Distress and endless sadness fall upon you. So this is my end? The rusty knife, which remembers many, is raised and stabbed into your bowels with vigor. Severe pain, but also relief. We each imagine death differently. I have been following HELSLAVE Italian maniacs since their beginnings. I've always liked their approach to music, such an ancient enthusiasm that I don't think can be learned. You have to have it in you, it has to be part of you. The new "From The Sulfur Depths" is clear proof of that. Even this year, you will receive ice, dark death metal of the highest quality.



The formal side of the album is the first to be interesting. The cover is signed by Juanjo Castellano and the sound by Dan Swanö, which guarantees that everything will be in the best order. And it is. Bones break during songs and I can't help myself on the cover. But the main thing is music, which is exactly the kind of great funeral experience that I need often and with gusto to dose into my veins. Poisonous, demonic, raw and at the same time melodic old metal death metal. When listening, you will often remember bands like BLOODBATH, DISMEMBER, EVOCATION, DESULTORY, HYPOCRISY, AT THE GATES. In addition, HELSLAVE bring a piece of themselves, have their own expression and crush skulls with enthusiasm and dark power. The album listens very well, it has become my reflection in the mirror for a long time. Coffins burst under pressure, zombies dance on your graves. Old Lady Death smiles, because this is how pure death metal is to be played. She sits on her throne and the Italians sacrifice in her honor. If you like deadly metal and enjoy the endless corridors of the underworld of the Serpent Realm, don't hesitate for a moment. "From The Sulfur Depths" is a cool echo from the graveyard! Great!
