I stíny mohou mít tisíc nuancí. Záleží, jak je vnímáte. Někdo rozlišuje jenom dobro a zlo a žije si svůj černobílý život, ale my, posluchači extrémních stylů moc dobře víme, že je to jinak. Každý máme svoje oblíbené kapely, se kterými jsme spojeni pupeční šňůrou. Málokdy se ohlížíme za sebe a objevujeme něco nového. Přesto bych vám dnes doporučil desku z oblasti, ve které se příliš často nepohybuji.
Ne, normálně bych si album už jen dle označení stylu nepustil. Ale jsem poctivý pisálek, který když mu něco přijde na recenzi, tak se snaží ke svému koníčku postavit čelem. Čtvrté řadové album od rakouských IN SLUMBER je zajímavým artefaktem. Melodické a surové zároveň. myslím, že při něm objevíte zcela nové odstíny černé.
Mocné nástupy, syrový, chladný zvuk. Absolutní tma a rudý oheň. Takové představy mám u téhle desky nejčastěji. Venku je šílené vedro, ale když poslouchám "While We Sleep", je mi zima. Užívám si jednotlivé skladby, připadám si jako na dlouhém výletě bez konce. Existuje jenom smrt a nihilismus. Potkává se zde melodický death metal (GOD DETHRONED, DARK TRANQUILITY) s černým kovem (DISSECTION). Vše je ve vzájemné symbióze, s vlastní invencí a nápady. Pokud se rádi a často pohybujete ve tmě, neváhejte ani chvilku. Budete určitě spokojeni jako já. Psát o podobných nahrávkách je pro mě radost, protože je za nimi znát spousta dobré, poctivé práce. Líbí se mi provedení, zvuk, obal. Jako celek drží album pevně pohromadě. Stačí si sednout, zatemnit svůj pokoj a přidat hlasitost. Na stěnách se objeví první přízraky. Vystoupí z jiné dimenze, z oblastí, kde vládne pouze strach. Rozdrásají vás do krve, stejně jako nová deska IN SLUMBER. Procházím se nekonečnými chodbami podzemí a zdravím se s nemrtvými. Oznamují mi, že také často poslouchají "While We Sleep". Nedivím se, album se opravdu povedlo. Nechte si chutnat, přátelé! Melodická black death metalová jízda přímo do pekla!

The black/death metal played by the band IN SLUMBER is light and majestic. It attacks up and it will bite you like a rat closed in a cage in your body. The poison will go step by step into your blood and it will make you twitch and you will be only able to take your hand up to the sky. The drums are amazing and the vocal is very interesting. Guitar players play very sharp riffs which will freeze you and trample you in the ground. I would suggest listen to this in the morning when you go to work when you are in the process of waking up and wind is cold and crazy. This is how Armageddon would be like. The world is very heavy on this album and it´s black with clouds touching the ground. In the distance you can actually hear the bells for the last journey. The retinue is holding a coffin with a cursed death man. IN SLUMBER can make the atmosphere of absolute ruin and desperation.
Powerful entrances, raw, cold sound. Absolute darkness and red fire. That's the image I have of this record most often. It's crazy hot outside, but when I listen to "While We Sleep", I'm cold. I'm enjoying each song, I feel like I'm on a long road trip with no end in sight. There is only death and nihilism. Melodic death metal (GOD DETHRONED, DARK TRANQUILITY) meets black metal (DISSECTION). Everything is in symbiosis with each other, with its own inventiveness and ideas. If you like and often move in the dark, don't hesitate a moment. You will surely be as satisfied as I am. Writing about recordings like this is a pleasure for me, because you can see a lot of good, honest work behind them. I like the performance, the sound, the cover art. As a whole, the album holds tightly together. Just sit down, darken your room and turn up the volume. The first ghosts appear on the walls. They step out of another dimension, out of the realms where only fear reigns. They'll tear you to pieces, just like the new IN SLUMBER record. I walk the endless corridors of the underground and say hello to the undead. They tell me they also listen to "While We Sleep" a lot. I'm not surprised, the album is a real success. Enjoy, my friends! A melodic black death metal ride straight to hell!
