Někteří lidé mají mrtvý pohled ještě za svého života. Potácejí se, toulají v temnotách, dělá jim špatně světlo a žijí pouze ve stínu. Jejich mysl už dávno není na tomto světě. Prokletí, uhranutí, schoulení do sebe. Nikdo jim nerozumí, jejich slova jsou prázdná a bolestivá. Emoce dávno pohřbili a zůstala v nich pouze prázdnota. Prokletí! Zavržení! Uhranutí! Všechny nás jednou obejme chlad a smrt. 

Jsou na světě kapely, které umí podobné pocity zhudebnit. Vzít nás na dlouhý výlet bez konce, který připomíná cestu přímo do pekla. Potkáte dlouhé stíny nemrtvých a u cesty budou ležet vybělené kostry hříšníků. Nové album irských VERMINOUS SERPENT hoří jasným černým plamenem. Umírání bude tentokrát hodně dlouhé a bolestivé. 


Pod kapelou jsou podepsáni zpěvák, basák A.A. Nemtheanga (PRIMORDIAL, DREAD SORVERGIAN), Matt Bree z MALTHUSIAN (zde bicí) a Joseph Deegan ze SLIDHR. Výsledkem jejich spolupráce je zajímavé, bolestivé black death metalové album, které se postupně dostalo do mých žil takovým způsobem, že na mě začalo působit jako prudký jed. Pokud máte rádi kapely jako ANTAEUS, MORTUARY DRAPE, SAMAEL, HELLHAMMER, CULTES OF GHOULES, mohlo by vás oslovit i album "The Malign Covenant". Skladby jsou napsány velmi zajímavě, jednotlivé motivy v sobě mají potřebnou sílu a drive. Je pro mě velmi příjemné se k nahrávce vracet. Má podmanivý zvuk (Shauny Cads) i atmosféru. Připadám si, jako bych seděl na hřbitově a proséval mezi prsty prach prokletých. VERMINOUS SERPENT k nám přišli ze záhrobí, z nekonečných chodeb Hádovy říše. Hrají muziku, která má v sobě vnitřní neklid, pnutí a velké množství nahrubo nasekané tmy. Do mysli se mi vkrádá chlad a utrpení. Bolí mě vnitřnosti, umírám a znovu se rodím. Během poslechu je kolem mě krvavá mlha a prokletí tančí na svých vlastních hrobech. Někteří lidé mají mrtvý pohled ještě za svého života. Potácejí se, toulají temnotách, dělá jim špatně světlo a žijí pouze ve stínu. Stejně jako já, když poslouchám "The Malign Covenant". Zlá, chladná, temná a děsivá black death metalová mantra!

Some people have a dead look in their lifetime. They stagger, wander in the dark, are sick of the light, and live only in the shadows. Their mind is long gone from this world. Cursed, bewitched, curled up inside themselves. No one understands them, their words are empty and painful. They have long since buried their emotions and only emptiness remains. A curse! Damnation! Bewitched! Coldness and death will embrace us all one day.

There are bands in the world that can set such feelings to music. Taking us on a long journey with no end that feels like a journey straight to hell. You'll meet the long shadows of the undead and the bleached skeletons of sinners lying by the roadside. The new album from Ireland's VERMINOUS SERPENT burns with a bright black flame. The dying will be very long and painful this time.


The band is signed by singer, bassist A.A. Nemtheanga (PRIMORDIAL, DREAD SORVERGIAN), Matt Bree from MALTHUSIAN (drums here) and Joseph Deegan from SLIDHR. The result of their collaboration is an interesting, painful black death metal album that gradually got into my veins in such a way that it started to affect me like a violent poison. If you like bands like ANTAEUS, MORTUARY DRAPE, SAMAEL, HELLHAMMER, CULTES OF GHOULES, you might also like "The Malign Covenant". The songs are written in a very interesting way, the individual themes have the necessary power and drive. It is very pleasant for me to come back to the recording. It has a captivating sound (Shauny Cads) and atmosphere. I feel like I'm sitting in a graveyard sifting the dust of the damned through my fingers. VERMINOUS SERPENT came to us from beyond the grave, from the endless corridors of Hades. They play music that has inner turmoil, tension, and a great deal of coarsely chopped darkness. Coldness and suffering creep into my mind. My insides ache, I die and am reborn. As I listen, a bloody mist surrounds me and the curses dance on their own graves. Some people have a dead look in their lifetime. They stagger, they wander in the dark, the light makes them sick and they live only in the shadows. Just like I do when I listen to "The Malign Covenant". Evil, cold, dark and scary black death metal mantra!

Nejlepší, co se mi dodnes může stát, tak je absolutní souznění s muzikou. Většinou píšu o jiných stylech, než je melodický black metal, ale když jsem poprvé potkal FROZEN DAWN, zcela jsem jejich novince propadl. Má v sobě totiž absolutně vše - tlak, energii, chlad, skvělé melodie, parádní vokál, spoustu nápadů a navíc řeže ostře a nekompromisně. Nikde žádné zbytečnosti, ale jenom zkažená krev.

Venku byla zrovna mlha a já nevěděl, co si mám pustit. Měl jsem chuť na něco jiného, než obvykle. "The Decline of the Enlightened Gods" mě nejdřív zaujalo obalem (vynikající Mariusz Lewandowski). Potom stačilo pár prvních tónů, první riff a zcela jsem se ztratil v jiné dimenzi, ve Winterlandu. 

Zase jednou jsem nahrávku raději poslouchal, než o ní psal. Mix starých dobrých DISSECTION, NECROPHOBIC, THULCANDRA, UADA, UNANIMATED, IMPERIALIST, VORGA, SACRAMENTUM, mi dělal ihned velmi dobře na mé zkažené duši. Najednou jsem nebyl ve smradlavém městě, ale toulal jsem se někde daleko na severu v lesích. Kolem cest ležela mrtvá těla zvířat a hledal jsem pradávná okultní místa. Fantazie pracovala na sto procent a muzika mi pronikala hluboko do žil. Neexistoval svět okolo, byl jsem jenom já a hudba. "The Decline of the Enlightened Gods" zní jako ozvěny z jiné dimenze. Jako bychom nahlédli spolu s kapelou za oponu, do nekonečné země stínů. Skvělé jsou melodie, sóla, vokál, album v sobě obsahuje takovou tu pradávnou metalovou sílu a nadšení, které se nedají podle mého naučit. Musíte je mít v sobě, musíte hrát se srdcem na dlani. Španělé jsou majestátní, mocní, šílení, ale zároveň syroví jako čerstvý hrob. Pokud se rádi v tomhle stylu pohybujete, je pro vás deska povinnost. Obejme vás jako mě temnota a budete navěky prokletí. Našlapuji opatrně, démoni totiž nikdy nespí. Bylo mi ctí tuhle kapelu poznat. Novinku jsem si opravdu užil. Nezbývá, než se poklonit a znovu si ji pustit. Temná, chladná melodická black metalová symfonie! Váš popel navěky zmrzne!

The best thing that can happen to me to this day is absolute harmony with the music. I usually write about styles other than melodic black metal, but when I first met FROZEN DAWN, I completely fell for their new stuff. It has absolutely everything in it - pressure, energy, coldness, great melodies, awesome vocals, lots of ideas and it cuts sharp and uncompromising. No uselessness anywhere, just bad blood.

It was foggy outside and I didn't know what to put on. I was in the mood for something different than usual. "The Decline of the Enlightened Gods" first caught my attention with the cover (excellent Mariusz Lewandowski). Then the first few notes, the first riff were enough and I was completely lost in another dimension, in Winterland.


Once again, I listened to the recording rather than wrote about it. The mix of the good old DISSECTION, NECROPHOBIC, THULCANDRA, UADA, UNANIMATED, IMPERIALIST, VORGA, SACRAMENTUM, immediately did me a lot of good on my corrupted soul. Suddenly I wasn't in a smelly city, but wandering in the woods somewhere far north. Dead bodies of animals lay around the paths and I was looking for ancient occult sites. My imagination was working 100% and the music was penetrating deep into my veins. There was no world around me, just me and the music. "The Decline of the Enlightened Gods" sounds like echoes from another dimension. It's like we're peeking behind the curtain with the band, into an infinite land of shadows. The melodies, the solos, the vocals are great, the album has that ancient metal power and enthusiasm that I don't think can be taught. You have to have it in you, you have to play with your heart on your sleeve. The Spaniards are majestic, powerful, insane, but at the same time raw as a fresh grave. If you like that style, this is a must-have record for you. Embrace the darkness like it embraced me and you will be cursed forever. I tread lightly, for demons never sleep. It's been an honor to meet this band. I really enjoyed the new album. I can't help but take a bow and play it again. A dark, cold, melodic black metal symphony! Your ashes will freeze forever!

Zase slyšíš hlasy ve své hlavě. Říkají ti samé ošklivé věci. Nevíš sice, odkud přicházejí, ale bojíš se jich. Někdy máš chuť se rozběhnout proti zdi, vytrhat si všechny vlasy, vzít do rukou žiletku a ukončit všechnu bolest. Děsí tě světlo, děsí tě šepot. Samota duše, samota těla, posloucháš jenom hudbu, která tě dokáže roztrhat na kusy. První setkání s novou deskou amerických ASHEN HORDE proběhlo uprostřed noc. Když si nemohl spát, když tě pronásledovaly noční můry.

Black metal nebývá zase tolik častým hostem v mém přehrávači. Ale tohle album si pouštím stále rád. I když už je to nějaký čas od vydání, stále se k němu vracím a objevuji nové zajímavé momenty. Toulám se ulicemi našeho města a znovu slyším hlasy, které mě lákají do temnoty. 

ASHEN HORDE ve své hudbě koketují s odkazy od takových smeček jako jsou IMMORTAL, ABIGOR, ENSLAVED, IHSAHN, ABHORIA, INFERI, DEATH. Základem je syrový black metal staré školy a přidávány jsou progresivní momenty. Zdánlivě nesourodý koktejl časem uzraje a garantuji vám, že vám vypálí do hlavy cejch. Důležité ale je, že musíte mít fantazii a vaše mysl musí být otevřená. "Antimony" je albem, které žhne a pálí, zároveň je studené, jako ruka mrtvoly. Viděli jste někdy, jak vypadá utopenec? Jak se vznáší na vlnách, otáčí se dokola a smrdí zatuchlinou? Tak takhle nějak jsem se cítil já, když jsem se setkal s novou deskou poprvé. Nejdříve jsem nevěděl, jestli se utopím, zalknu, udusím. Po čase pronikla do mých žil a způsobila tam krystalky ledu. Tahle kapela vám nedá nic zadarmo, budete muset přemýšlet. Vyhledávat temné kouty, rozmlouvat s dušemi zemřelých. Podáte si ruku s démony, obětujete všem padlým bohům a stejně bude ve vaší mysli neklid. Ano, "Antimony" je vznešenou, neuchopitelnou nahrávkou. Má skvělý zvuk, obal od mistra Niklase Sundina (Dark Tranquillity), ale hlavně velkou porci zajímavých pasáží. Zase slyšíš hlasy ve své hlavě. Říkají ti samé ošklivé věci. Nevíš sice, odkud přicházejí, ale bojíš se jich. Jsi prokletý, až navěky, amen! Progresivní, temný a chladný black metal, který vás rozdrásá do krve!

You're hearing voices in your head again. They're saying the same nasty things to you. You don't know where they're coming from, but you're afraid of them. Sometimes you want to run against the wall, pull out all your hair, pick up a razor and end all the pain. The light scares you, the whispers scare you. The loneliness of the soul, the loneliness of the body, listening only to music that can tear you apart. The first encounter with the new album of American ASHEN HORDE took place in the middle of the night. When you couldn't sleep, when you were haunted by nightmares.

Black metal isn't a very frequent guest in my player. But I still like to listen to this album. Even though it's been a while since it's release, I keep coming back to it and discovering new interesting moments. I wander the streets of our city and hear voices again, beckoning me into the darkness.


ASHEN HORDE's music flirts with references from such packs as IMMORTAL, ABIGOR, ENSLAVED, IHSAHN, ABHORIA, INFERI, DEATH. The base is raw black metal of the old school and progressive moments are added. The seemingly disparate cocktail will mature over time and I guarantee it will burn a mark in your head. But the important thing is that you have to be imaginative and keep your mind open. "Antimony" is an album that glows and burns, at the same time it is cold, like the hand of a corpse. Have you ever seen what a drowned man looks like? Floating on the waves, spinning around and smelling rancid? That's kind of how I felt when I first encountered the new record. At first I didn't know if I was going to drown, faint, suffocate. After a while, it seeped into my veins and caused ice crystals. This band doesn't give you anything for free, you have to think. Search the dark corners, talk to the souls of the dead. You'll shake hands with demons, sacrifice to all the fallen gods, and still your mind will be troubled. Yes, "Antimony" is a sublime, elusive record. It's got a great sound, a cover by master Niklas Sundin (Dark Tranquillity), but most importantly, a great deal of interesting passages. You hear the voices in your head again. They're saying the same nasty things to you. You don't know where they're coming from, but you're afraid of them. You're damned forever, amen! Progressive, dark and cold black metal that will tear you to blood!

Zlo se objeví pokaždé ve chvíli, kdy jej nejméně čekáte. Vystoupí ze tmy, jako nějaká děsivá bestie. Prokousne vám hrdlo a vaše tělo pohodí u cesty jako nepotřebnou loutku. Nejhorší vždycky je, když potkáte někoho, kdo se hezky usmívá, ale uvnitř je zkažený a prokletý. Nenávist má, stejně jako black death metal, mnoho podob. Rád bych vám dnes představil nahrávku, která je po okraj narvaná vztekem, šílenstvím a černou krví.

Představte si starý, rezavý, ale přesto perfektně seřízený stroj na zabíjení. Stačí jenom nasednout a vydat se přímo do pekla. Nové album kanadských tmářů PROFANE ORDER smrdí sírou a hoří jasným plamenem!


PROFANE ORDER útočí napřímo, bez zbytečností, jdou až na dřeň, na samou podstatu extrémního metalu. A dělají to podobným způsobem, jako kapely typu BLASPHEMY, ARCHGOAT, ANTICHRIST SIEGE MACHINE, REVENGE, ABYSMAL LORD. Dostanete prvotřídní nálož nekompromisního materiálu, který musí dělat dobře všem, kdo rádi a často navštěvují staré katakomby. Na tomhle výletě potkáte protáhlé tváře nemrtvých, ale i prokleté, kteří se navěky vaří v kotlích. Kanaďané jdou na hranu, možná i kousek za ní. Vezmou vás a vymáchají vám obličej v kaluži plné krvi. Pokud máte, stejně jako já, rádi pradávné rituály pro vyvolávání temných sil, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Jako bych spadl do obrovského mlýnu na maso. Jsem rozsekán ostrými riffy, brutálními bicími i chorobným vokálem. To vše podáváno na prašivém dřevěném víku od rakve a s chladným a masivním zvukem. Líbí se mi i obal, formální stránku věci není třeba snad ani zmiňovat, vše je v nejlepším pořádku. "One Nightmare unto Another" je jako prudký jed, který vám kapela vpíchne rovnou do krku. Budete se dusit vlastní krví a když zemřete, tak je vám doufám jasné, kam se dostanete - ano, přímo do pekla. Stejně jako tahle deska. Válka s nebem! Bestiální, krvavé black death metalové inferno!

PROFANE ORDER attack directly, without any unnecessary things, they go to the core, to the very essence of extreme metal. And they do it in the same way as bands like BLASPHEMY, ARCHGOAT, ANTICHRIST SIEGE MACHINE, REVENGE, ABYSMAL LORD. You'll get a first class load of uncompromising material that must do well for anyone who likes and frequents the old catacombs. On this trip you'll meet the elongated faces of the undead, as well as the cursed who boil in cauldrons forever. Canadians go to the edge, maybe even a little beyond. They'll take you and wash your face in a pool of blood. If, like me, you like ancient rituals for summoning dark forces, don't hesitate a moment. It's like falling into a giant meat grinder. I'm being chopped up by sharp riffs, brutal drums and sick vocals. All served on a dingy wooden coffin lid and with a cold and massive sound. I also like the cover art, the formal side of things need perhaps not even be mentioned, everything is in top order. "One Nightmare unto Another" is like a violent poison that the band injects straight down your throat. You'll choke on your own blood and when you die, I hope it's clear where you're going - yes, straight to hell. Just like this record. War with heaven! A bestial, bloody black death metal inferno!

Recenze/review - THE FUROR - Head Full of Hell (2022)

Pokud nahlédnete na druhou stranu, na onen svět, tak uvidíte pouze špínu, hnis a absolutní zlo. Ráj je jen představa v hlavách naivních ovcí. Existuje pouze peklo. Občas se objeví v podobě války, šílenství nebo v hlavách některých jedinců, u nás, na zemi. Je nutné o něm mluvit, je potřeba o něm hrát. Mám rád black death metal, který smrdí sírou, s chutí si vždy poslechnu novinku od australských THE FUROR. Vždy se jedná o opravdový, reálný obřad. O negaci všeho dobrého.

A také o muziku, která vás svojí silou přikove na zeď. Budete odporovat, bát se, mít noční můry, ale nakonec stejně shnijete ve studené zemi a vaše duše bude navěky trápena démony. Smrt si zase jednou dává rande se Satanem. Obřad může začít. Poslouchejte hodně nahlas!


Morbidní básnící se zmítají v křečích. Už několik dní neustále dokola obětují svůj život. Za černý, smrtící kov. Ano, THE FUROR jsou nekompromisní, neznají slitování. Jdou na to podobným způsobem, jako jejich kolegové ve zbrani IMPIETY, BELPHEGOR, BEHEMOTH, RAVAGER, BESTIAL WINDS, REVENGE. Ohně hoří jasným plamenem. Satan sedí na svém trůnu a kolem jeho nohou se plazí jedovatí hadi. Asi už víte, jak zemřete. Za zvuků "Head Full of Hell", prokletí a zničení. Na téhle mši jsou kříže obráceny směrem dolů, svěcená voda se vaří a pentagramy září do tmy. Muži v kápích, nahé ženy, celé album připomíná starodávný rituál, zlý a ošklivý ze své podstaty. Existuje ještě jeden svět, stejně smradlavý a špatný, jako ten náš, ale hraje se v něm jen ta nejlepší a nejhlasitější hudba. Australané zde museli nahrávat, protože novinka má masivní, hutný a syrový zvuk. Praskají u něj kosti tlakem a lebky pukají v děsivých rytmech. Určitě jste někdy navštívili místa, na kterých jste se cítili divně, byli jste neklidní a věděli jste, že se na nich stalo něco ošklivého. Staré domy po krvavých vraždách, hroby za hřbitovní zdí. Popravčí kopec s dřevěnou šibenicí. Stejné emoce cítím i z  "Head Full of Hell". Je to válka s nebem a je doufám jasné, kdo vyhrává. Ano, THE FUROR! Bestiální black death metalové prokletí!

If you look on the other side, on the other world, you will see only filth, pus and absolute evil. Paradise is a fantasy in the heads of naive sheep. There is only hell. Sometimes it appears in the form of war, madness or in the minds of some individuals, here on earth. It has to be talked about, it has to be acted out. I like black death metal, which smells of sulfur, I always enjoy listening to new music from Australia's THE FUROR. It's always a real, real ceremony. The negation of all that is good.

And music that will drive you up the wall with its power. You'll resist, you'll fear, you'll have nightmares, but in the end you'll rot in the cold earth and your soul will be tormented by demons forever. Death is once again making a date with Satan. The ceremony can begin. Listen very loudly!


Morbid poets are convulsing. They've been sacrificing their lives over and over for days. For black, deadly metal. Yes, THE FUROR are uncompromising, they know no mercy. They go about it in a similar way to their fellow comrades in arms IMPIETY, BELPHEGOR, BEHEMOTH, RAVAGER, BESTIAL WINDS, REVENGE. The fires burn brightly. Satan sits on his throne, and poisonous serpents slither around his feet. You probably already know how you're gonna die. To the sound of "Head Full of Hell", curses and destruction. At this mass, the crosses are upside down, the holy water is boiling and the pentagrams glow in the dark. Hooded men, naked women, the whole album is reminiscent of an ancient ritual, evil and ugly by its very nature. There is another world, just as smelly and bad as ours, but only the best and loudest music is played in it. The Australians must have recorded here because the new music has a massive, dense and raw sound. It cracks bones with pressure and skulls crack with terrifying rhythms. I'm sure you've visited places where you've felt strange, you've been unsettled and you knew something nasty had happened. Old houses after bloody murders, graves behind cemetery walls. The execution hill with the wooden gallows. I feel the same emotion from "Head Full of Hell". It's a war with heaven, and I hope it's clear who's winning. Yes, THE FUROR! A beastly black death metal curse!

Czechia-based death black metal ravagers, Altars Ablaze, have released a video for the track "Across the Empires of Death", featured on their debut LP, Life Desecration, released in September via Lavadome productions. The song title indirectly pays homage to the works of Paul Koudounaris. Watch below:

Peklo zase jednou hoří jasným plamenem. Satan sedí na svém trůnu a usmívá se. Má důvod. Vychází nové album black thrash metalových démonů CULTO NEGRO. Je divoké, temné, zběsilé a rychlé. Nezůstane po něm kámen na kameni. Jenom spálená země. Poslouchám je nejraději ve chvílích, když je venku bouře. To se potom spojí energie a zástupy nemrtvých vstoupí na zem. Poslouchejte pozorně!

Skupina byla založena v roce 2015 a má na svém kontě jedno EP, jedno demo, jeden singl a jeden split. Novinka je potom prvním dlouhohrajícím albem, na kterém pánové uctívají klasický black, thrash, speed metal. A dělají to velmi poctivě a s krvavou jiskrou v oku!


CULTO NEGRO se pohybují ve stejných smradlavých vodách jako třeba takoví DESTROYER 666, NIFELHAIM, AURA NOIR, MUTILATOR, WARFIST, a jim podobní. Líbí se mi, že pánové hrají uvěřitelně, od srdce, s nadšením a odhodláním pro staré okultní obřady. Je jasné, že dnešní svět se točí úplně jinak, ale podobná hudba mě dokáže vždy zaujmout. Je stejné krve jako ta moje. A tu není zase tak jednoduché vyměnit. Oceňuji prašivý, chladný zvuk, líbí se mi i obal. Jako celek působí nahrávka velmi kompaktně, surově. Připomíná mi reálnou, hnusnou návštěvu starých katakomb. Odehrávaly se v nich krvavé rituály pro vyvolávání temných sil. Vše je navíc perfektně zahrané. Není divu, v téhle smečce působí zkušení členové ze skupiny CORPSE GARDEN. Je pro mě velmi příjemné se dívat do podobných hrobek. Jsou v nich uložena těla prokletých. Přesně v těchto místech vynikne "La Noche Oscura del Alma" nejlépe. Patří sem, mezi studené špinavé zdi, hned vedle brány, která vede rovnou do pekla. Satan sedí na svém trůnu a usmívá se. Má důvod. Tohle album hoří jasným plamenem! A nezůstane po něm nic, jenom spálená země. Okultní, krvavý black speed metalový kult!

The band was formed in 2015 and has one EP, one demo, one single and one split to their credit. The new album is then the first full-length album to feature the gentlemen's homage to classic black, thrash, speed metal. And they do it very honestly and with a bloody sparkle in their eye!


CULTO NEGRO are in the same stinky waters as DESTROYER 666, NIFELHAIM, AURA NOIR, MUTILATOR, WARFIST, and their ilk. I like that the gentlemen play believably, from the heart, with passion and commitment to the old occult rituals. It's clear that today's world spins in a completely different way, but music like this can always captivate me. It's of the same blood as mine. And that's not so easy to replace. I appreciate the dusty, cool sound, and I like the cover. As a whole, the record feels very compact, raw. It reminds me of a real, nasty visit to the old catacombs. There were bloody rituals to summon dark forces. And it's all perfectly played. Not surprisingly, this pack features experienced members from CORPSE GARDEN. I find it very enjoyable to look into such tombs. They hold the bodies of the damned. It is in these places that "La Noche Oscura del Alma" shines best. It belongs here, among the cold dirty walls, next to the gate that leads straight to hell. Satan sits on his throne and smiles. He has a reason. This album is burning bright! And there will be nothing left but scorched earth. An occult, bloody black speed metal cult!

Vítej u nás! Posaď se. Mohu ti nabídnout něco dobrého? Co třeba zkaženou krev? Vím, že ji máš moc rád. Satane! Chovej se tu jako doma. V pekle. Svět je dávno tvůj, stačí se rozhlédnout kolem sebe. Existuje už jenom tma, zlo, špína a beznaděj. Nevěříš? Tak se jdi někdy projít ulicemi. Zvedni své oči a zapal nebe. Stejně je úplně zbytečné. 

Je to nekompromisní atak. Divoká jízda bez konce. Vyrvané a snězené srdce. Hudební násilí v podobě, ve které ho máme všichni tolik rádi. VERMIN WOMB a jejich nové album "Retaliation". Výbušná směs, umíchaná ze shnilého death metalu, grindu, punku, hardcore  a black metalu. Peklo opravdu existuje! Stačí jenom zapnout play.


Také vás někdy bolí hlava a nesnášíte všechno kolem sebe? Máte frustraci, když se díváte na zprávy? Nemusíte. Stačí si narvat do hlavy "Retaliation"! Jasně, je to extrém, u kterého pukají lebky tlakem. Ale to přeci nevadí. Hlavní je, že má album dobrý zvuk, tlak, energii a zůstává po něm jenom spálená země. Kladivem do hlavy! Kyselina do mozku! Po téhle nahrávce budete mít obličej rozdrásaný do krve. Všechny zlé a zvrácené myšlenky, které jste kdy měli, tak vylezou jako červi na povrch a chcípnou v křečích. Ano, rozhodně se nejedná o nic pro slabé povahy, ale svět také není jen růžový. VERMIN WOMB hrají pro všechny fanoušky bolesti, strachu a nenávisti. Skladby v sobě mají vztek, frustraci. Jsou otiskem našich zvrácených chutí. Pochodujeme v davu. Bez názoru, bez naděje. Jenom kusy masa a potom smrt. "Retaliation" je přesně tím typem muziky, která vás spálí na popel. Bez slitování. Poslech mi připomíná návštěvu starých jatek. Do zdí je otisknuta bolest a utrpení. Troufám si tvrdit, že se album opravdu povedlo. Má skvělý zvuk, zajímavý obal a nalezneme zde i spoustu zajímavých nápadů. Jako celek hoří nahrávka jasným plamenem. Vítej u nás! Posaď se. Mohu ti nabídnout něco dobrého? Co třeba zkaženou krev?  Nebo raději něco ostrého? Co třeba "Retaliation"? Black death grind metalová kafilerie!

VERMIN WOMB play for all fans of pain, fear and hate. The songs have anger, frustration in them. They are an imprint of our twisted tastes. We march in the crowd. Without opinion, without hope. Just pieces of meat and then death. "Retaliation" is exactly the kind of music that will burn you to the ground. No mercy. Listening to it reminds me of a visit to the old slaughterhouse. Pain and suffering imprinted on the walls. I dare to say that the album was really good. It's got a great sound, interesting cover artwork and a lot of interesting ideas. As a whole, the record burns with a bright flame. Welcome to us! Have a seat. Can I get you something good? How about some bad blood? Or would you prefer something spicy? How about "Retaliation"? Někteří z nás se narodí na cestě do pekla. Jsme vnímavější na zlo, na hnis a špínu, která je všude kolem. Patřím mezi ně, zdánlivě prokleté. Rád se dívám do tmy, sleduji krásné a morbidní odstíny černé barvy. Jsem častým návštěvníkem morbidních galerií i hledačem zpuchřelých rakví. Zocelen a zrozen v devadesátých letech minulého století stále uznávám a obdivuji sílu black a death metalu. Nejraději mám ten hrubý, syrový, zahnívající, jako ty nejkrutější myšlenky některých jedinců našeho rodu.

V české odnoži extrémního kovu se toho příliš neděje. Mladí hrají již něco jiného a tak nezbývá, aby se k rezavým strojům postavili zkušení muzikanti. To samozřejmě nebývá hned zárukou kvality, ale u ALTARS ABLAZE mám zase jednou pocit, že opravdu stojím na dlouhé cestě do pekla. Na jejich debutu "Life Desecration" se ale nepotkávají jen zkušenosti. Bez podmanivé a cíleně mokvající atmosféry by to nešlo. Plameny jsou spalující! Stejně jako motivy na téhle desce. 

ALTARS ABLAZE je pohybují ve stejných močálech, jako třeba takoví ANGELCORPSE, DIABOLIC, HATE ETERNAL, DEICIDE, VITAL REMAINS, ACHERON. Není to ale jenom death metalová vichřice, kterou na albu můžete potkat. Nadávkována je i černá smrt, v podobě, v jaké ji hrávali a hrají maniaci typu 1349, MARDUK, MAYHEM, ENTRHONED, nebo staří GORGOROTH. Líbí se mi, že kapele nestačí být jen obyčejným retrem, pokračovatelem, ale přidávají i velkou spoustu svých nápadů. Snaží se (a dle mého se jim to daří na výbornou), zaujmout i svými postupy. Vskutku ďábelský je zvuk (Chris Erkense z CYPHX AUDIO (CAMBION)). Zmínit musím i stylový, dobře zapamatovatelný obal (BELIAL NECROARTS (CONCILIUM, FUSTILARIAN)) a logo od mistra Christopha Szpajdela. Po formální stránce nebylo podceněno rozhodně vůbec nic. Obsah mě baví poslouchat, měl bych snad jen jednu malou připomínku, některé pasáže jsou možná až moc dlouhé, ale to může být jen můj dojem zmlsaného posluchače. ALTARS ABLAZE se rozhodně v podzemí neztratí. Mají jasný cíl i směr - všechny nás spálit na popel. Mohu jen potvrdit, že se nahrávka opravdu povedla - je nihilistickým obrazem nás samých. "Life Desecration" doporučuji dávkovat v absolutní tmě a nejlépe někde poblíž hřbitova. Bude vám vypálen cejch, to aby bylo jasné, že patříte také mezi prokleté. Bestiální, mrazivé black death metalové inferno!

My favorite is the raw, crude, decaying kind, like the cruelest thoughts of some individuals of our race.

My favorite is the raw, crude, decaying kind, like the cruelest thoughts of some individuals of our race. There is not much of that going on in the Czech branch of extreme metal. Young people are already playing something else and so there is no other choice than to have experienced musicians stand up to rusty instruments. Of course, this is not a guarantee of quality, but with ALTARS ABLAZE I have the feeling that I am really on the long road to hell. But it's not just experience that meets on their debut "Life Desecration". It wouldn't be possible without a captivating and purposefully swamping atmosphere. The flames are scorching! Just like the themes on this record.


ALTARS ABLAZE is in the same swamp as ANGELCORPSE, DIABOLIC, HATE ETERNAL, DEICIDE, VITAL REMAINS, ACHERON. But it's not only death metal whirlwind that you can find on the album. Black death is also given a dose, in the form that maniacs like 1349, MARDUK, MAYHEM, ENTRHONED, or old GORGOROTH used to play and still do. I like that the band is not enough to be just a simple "retro", a continuation, but they also add a great deal of their own ideas. They are trying (and in my opinion they are succeeding very well), to impress with their methods. The sound is truly diabolical (Chris Erkense from CYPHX AUDIO (CAMBION)), the stylish, memorable cover art (BELIAL NECROARTS (CONCILIUM, FUSTILARIAN)) and the logo by the master Christoph Szpajdel. Formally, nothing has been underestimated at all. I enjoy listening to the content, I would perhaps have just one small comment, some passages are perhaps too long, but that may just be my impression of a dainty listener. ALTARS ABLAZE is definitely not getting lost in the underground. They have a clear goal and direction - to burn us all to ashes. I can only confirm that the record is really good - it is a nihilistic picture of ourselves. I recommend to dose "Life Desecration" in absolute darkness and preferably somewhere near a cemetery. You will be stamped with a brand to make it clear that you are also among the damned. A bestial, chilling black death metal inferno!

Jsou vždycky poznat. Vypadají totiž jinak. Všichni ti zlí a oškliví, kteří na našem světě ubližovali jiným. Mají černé oči a kusy masa jim odpadávají postupně od kostí. Prokletí, zavržení. Pohřbení za hřbitovní zdí. Vždycky mě zajímalo, co takoví jedinci poslouchají za hudbu. Jeden tip bych měl. Nové ARCHGOAT. Démoni z onoho světa. Přízraky ze starých dob.

A samozřejmě black death metal špinavý jako čerstvě otevřený hrob. Spousta zpuchřelých kostí, zvuk jak ze záhrobí a tisíce pavučin, omotaných jako silné řetězy kolem rakve. Přidávám postupně volume a s naprostou jistotou vím, že jsem zde správně. Peklo. Pravé nefalšované peklo, plné trpících hříšníků. A je úplně jedno, jaký si byl a jak si žil. Zlo si tě vždycky najde.


ARCHGOAT si vás se svojí hudbou také najdou, stejně jako nějaká zákeřná choroba. Náhodě nebylo ponecháno nic. Perfektní, masivní a mocný zvuk, ze kterého odkapává krev. Temnota, nekonečný chlad a spousta zajímavých momentů ve stylu REVENGE, BEHERIT, BLASPHEMY, BLACK WITCHERY. Finové mají svůj styl, výraz, poznáte je ihned mezi ostatními. Troufám si tvrdit, že je to způsobeno absolutní oddaností tmě. Opět si při poslechu připadám, jako bych sestoupil několik metrů pod zemí. Otevřu dveře a za nimi visí za zdech první zubožená těla. Ještě trošku žijí. Naříkají a pláčou. Z chodeb se rozléhá jedovatý smích. Na koncert dnes přišel samotný Satan. Je krásně oblečen, usmívá se a u nohou mu leží jeho věrní. Pozdravíš jej a předáš mu "All Christianity Ends". Obřad může začít. Oběť je připravena. Zástup padlých mnichů odříkává zvrácenou modlitbu. Hlavní velekněz pozvedá nůž. Hudba graduje. Ano, sem do starých katakomb patří a zde musela být nahrávána. Ozve se výkřik a hlavní slovo dostane dáma Smrt. Připadá mi, že jsem zde již několikrát byl. Bylo to v momentech, když jsem poslouchal předchozí desky ARCHGOAT. Novinka je jejich krutým pokračováním. Tajemný, magický, krvavý black death metalový rituál!

They're always recognizable. Because they look different. All the bad and ugly ones who have hurt others in our world. They have black eyes and pieces of flesh falling off their bones. Cursed, damned. Buried behind a cemetery wall. I've always wondered what kind of music such individuals listen to. I have one tip. The new ARCHGOAT. Demons from the other world. Ghosts from the old days.

And of course black death metal as dirty as a freshly opened grave. Lots of rotten bones, a sound like from beyond the grave and thousands of cobwebs wrapped like thick chains around the coffin. I turn up the volume gradually and I know with absolute certainty that I'm right here. Hell. A true, genuine hell, full of suffering sinners. And it doesn't matter what you've been or how you've lived. Evil will always find you.


ARCHGOAT will also find you with their music, just like an insidious disease. Nothing was left to chance. A perfect, massive and powerful sound that makes your blood drip. Darkness, endless coldness and a lot of interesting moments in the style of REVENGE, BEHERIT, BLASPHEMY, BLACK WITCHERY. The Finns have their own style, expression, you will recognize them immediately among the others. I dare to say that it is due to absolute devotion to darkness. Again, listening to them, I feel like I have descended several meters underground. I open the door and behind it the first mutilated bodies hang on the walls. They're still a little alive. They wail and cry. Poisonous laughter echoes from the corridors. Satan himself has come to the concert tonight. He's beautifully dressed, smiling, with his faithful at his feet. You greet him and give him "All Christianity Ends". The ceremony can begin. The sacrifice is ready. A crowd of fallen monks recite a perverse prayer. The High Priest raises his knife. The music graduates. Yes, it belongs here in the old catacombs and must have been recorded here. There's a scream, and Lady Death gets the floor. I feel like I've been here several times before. It was when I was listening to previous ARCHGOAT records. The new one is a cruel continuation of that. Mysterious, magical, bloody black death metal ritual!
