A few questions - interview with black death metal band from USA - BEASTLURKER.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers?

– When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.? No problem. Beastlurker was founded in mid-2017. We dwell in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. and essentially write and perform explorative, cathartic black metal music while paying respects to certain stylistic approaches deemed “traditional.”

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The new album was tracked, mixed and mastered at Iron Hand Audio down the hall in the prison-like labyrinth we rehearse in. How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)? So far, the record has been released digitally, on compact disc, and cassette. 350 cd’s and 66 cassette tapes were manufactured with another 100 cassettes currently in the printing process. A vinyl release is intended for sometime 2022.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

M.A. Maggio (I) wrote all lyrics for the EP and full-length. The subject matter largely deals with first-hand human experience. Experiences which have affected who and what I am. Topics range from hallucinogenic teachers, psychodramas, truth-seeking, death, violence, outrage, anguish, addictions, psychological torment...to the human will, the death of meaning, occult research, self-improvement, and so on...all of which are projected through a positive lens of art. These mostly negatively perceived themes become constructive and positive once crossed into the realm of artistic creation.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Benno from Viral Designs created the logo, Sang from Vhan Artworks created the sigil. I put the social media pages and Bandcamp page together. I do consider these platforms important as they are our main method of sharing any updates and divulging any information thought to be worth it.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We are very pleased with the Polish label Godz of War Productions. Greg and his people do outstanding work in the fields of support, integrity, and representation. This label released both the EP and full-length.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

A few bands we enjoy and respect are Angelcorpse, Bolzer, Dissection, Peste Noire, Dead Congregation, Baptism, Destroyer 666, Morbid Angel, Havukruunu, Urn, etc… I believe inspiration is omnipresent. It just needs to be discovered, acknowledged and forged into a useful tool.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

The full-length was sent to no one aside from Godz ov War. Greg received the first opportunity to release it as we were satisfied and appreciative of all that transpired with the EP. In other words, we remained loyal.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

The Covidian era we continue to reside in has limited us to 2 gigs thus far. Both performances took place in Chicago. However we are scheduled to perform alongside the maniacs in American outfits Lurid, Exaugurate, and Pig’s Blood this Dec, 17th in Chicago. I’d say our 2nd performance was slightly superior to the first. (Haha)

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

We’ve got a split offering completed with a black metal band from the midwest U.S. that is patiently waiting for a release. The objectives for the future are to simply stay productive, improve in all facets, and to deliver our draconian artform in a live setting to as many corners of the world possible.

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

We can be directly messaged through our social media accounts or emailed at sirmaggio667@gmail.com

Many hails, Jakub. Cheers, M.A.

Thanx for the interview.
