Občas se mi zatmělo před očima. Nevěnoval jsem tomu pozornost. Jenže pak jsem jednou upadl a už nevstal. Odvezli mě na sál, otevřeli moji hlavu a zjistili, že v ní mám příliš zbytečných informací. Zahlcen strachem a nenávistí se začal můj mozek bránit. Potřeboval jsem nějaký lék, něco, co by mi pomohlo přežít v dnešním šíleném světě. Nebo jsem šílený já?
Nakonec jsem zvolil novou desku řeckých thrasherů BIO-CANCER. Ti se od své poslední desky "Tormenting the Innocent" (2015) odmlčeli na dlouhých osm let. Letos se vrátili a působí na mě jako tsunami, jako smršť, kterou nelze zastavit. Jedovatý vokál, ostré riffy, celkový pocit neklidu. Tohle všechno kapela přináší i na nové nahrávce "Revengeance".
Album se mi v podstatě líbí, jen mi v některých případech přijde lehce monotónní. Ale to bude spíš problém stylu, který skupina předkládá. Berte to také jenom jako drobnou výtku. Novinka je zároveň pestrá a zajímavá. Myslíte si, že si protiřečím? Ne, některé skladby jsou opravdu srdce rvoucí, jiné mě příliš neoslovily. Je to jízda, je to vichřice, přesto si občas říkám, že se vytrácí energie. Pokud jste fanoušci třeba takových EXODUS, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, KREATOR, DARK ANGEL, REVOCATION, mohli byste být spokojeni. Oceňuji, že se Řekové snaží vyvíjet, přidávat kus vlastní invence a nápadů. Dovedl bych si ale představit ostřejší a špinavější zvuk. Líbí se mi kombinace melodických a zničujících prvků. I vložené death metalové ozvěny. Rozhodně to není album na první poslech. Musíte mu dát čas, poslouchat ho v různých náladách i čase. Teprve potom vynikne jeho síla. Zapomenout nesmím na parádní obal (Dan Goldsworthy), to je opravdová nádhera. Připadá mi, že se pánové lehce posunuli až někam k melodickému death metalu. Jestli je to dobře, nebo špatně, nakonec stejně posoudí hlavně fanoušci. Za sebe mohu napsat jediné - "Revengeance" je přesně ten druh hudby, která si to u mě musela odpracovat. Zpočátku jsem byl trošku na rozpacích, ale časem mi album proniklo do krve. Potřeboval jsem nějaký lék, něco, co by mi pomohlo přežít v dnešním šíleném světě. Melodický thrash death metalový útok na vaše podvědomí!

In the end, I chose the new album by Greek thrashers BIO-CANCER. They have been on hiatus for eight long years since their last album "Tormenting the Innocent" (2015). This year they are back and they affect me like a tsunami, like a whirlwind that cannot be stopped. The venomous vocals, the sharp riffs, the overall feeling of unease. The band brings all this to the new record "Revengeance".
I basically like the album, I just find it a bit monotonous in some cases. But that's more a problem of the style the band presents. Also, take this as just a minor complaint. The novelty is both varied and interesting. Do you think I'm contradicting myself? No, some of the songs are really heartbreaking, others didn't really appeal to me. It's a ride, it's a whirlwind, yet sometimes I think the energy is waning. If you are a fan of the likes of EXODUS, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, KREATOR, DARK ANGEL, REVOCATION, you might be satisfied. I appreciate that the Greeks are trying to evolve, adding a bit of their own inventiveness and ideas. But I could imagine a sharper and dirtier sound. I like the combination of melodic and destructive elements. Even the death metal echoes inserted. Definitely not an album for the first listen. You have to give it time, listen to it in different moods and time. Only then will its power shine through. I mustn't forget the awesome cover (Dan Goldsworthy), it's a real beauty. It seems to me that the gentlemen have moved slightly towards melodic death metal. Whether it's good or bad, in the end it's up to the fans to judge. For myself I can write one thing - "Revengeance" is exactly the kind of music that had to work for me. At first I was a bit embarrassed, but with time the album got into my blood. I needed a cure, something to help me survive in today's crazy world. A melodic thrash death metal assault on your subconscious!
