U vchodu hlídá tříhlavý pes. Není lehké ho oklamat. Následuje dlouhá chodba, hluboko pod zem. Tady, v prašivých a temných kobkách, trávím většinu svého času. Uzavřen před dnešním podivným světem, zde popíjím dobré pivo a poslouchám muziku, která mi dokáže vytrhnout vnitřnosti z těla. Právě jsem odložil sklenici. Hledám ve starých archívech z roku 1997. Již tenkrát jsem si do svých poznámek napsal, že tahle smečka má velký potenciál.

Už od svých počátků totiž vždy předkládá ryzí, opravdový a prašivý death metal. Letošní album "The Stench of Eternity" není výjimkou. Naopak, kapela opět potvrzuje, že je ve skvělé formě. Z riffů odkapává zkažená krev. Vokál je nasáklý chorobami a atmosféra je náležitě mrtvolná. Přehrabuji se ve starých kostech a kývám souhlasně hlavou do rytmu. Peklo opravdu existuje!

Občas přijdou démoni, někdy se staví na kus řeči samotná Smrt. Všichni po mě chtějí nějakou hudbu, kterou bych jim doporučil. Na CARDIAC ARREST je vždycky spolehnutí. Jsou pro mě etalonem toho, co mám na tomhle stylu rád. Jejich špinavé skladby připomínají lavinu, která vás rozdrtí velkou silou. Chlad se zde potkává s temnotou a u většiny skladeb se cítím, jako pohřbený zaživa. Jsem starý fanoušek kapely a jako takový jsem velmi spokojený. Je sice pravda, že staré psy novým kouskům nenaučíš a pánové se celou dobu pohybují jenom v rámci stylu, ale to nevadí. Naopak, dostal jsem přesně takovou porci shnilého masa, jakou jsem chtěl a jakou jsem si přál. Pro mě je vždy velmi důležité, jestli kapele jejich práci věřím. CARDIAC ARREST jsou zkušenými hrobníky, kteří moc dobře vědí, co a jak chtějí hrát. Nelze jinak, než na jejich novou desku nalepit známku vysoké kvality. "The Stench of Eternity" je nahrávkou, u které se rozpadnete v prach. Až navěky, amen! Pokud uctíváte kapely jako CIANIDE, IMPETIGO, INCANTATION, CIANIDE, AUTOPSY, MASTER, OBITUARY, GRAVE, BENEDICTION, SHED THE SKIN, AUTOPSY, potom jste zde správně. Zvuk (Nick Gallichio - Engineering, Mixing, Javi Feliz - mastering), připomíná stěnu z lebek, která na vás spadne a o obalu (Nev/Gruesome Graphx - Adam Michael Nevler) netřeba diskutovat, tenhle motiv chci mít na tričku! Jsem si naprosto jistý, že tříhlavý pes u vchodu pustí vždy tyhle maniaky z Chicaga dovnitř, do mých katakomb. Jejich letošní novinka je totiž shnilá a prašivá jako kosti všech prokletých. Dávám si další pivo a uléhám do studené rakve. Zapínám znovu play a odcházím na druhou stranu, za řeku Styx. Exhumace starých, prašivých death metalových hrobů! Bude vám odpadávat maso od kostí! Hniloba, špína a nekonečná temnota a chlad!

There is a three-headed dog guarding the entrance. He's not easy to fool. There's a long corridor, deep underground. This is where I spend most of my time, in dank, dark dungeons. Since their beginnings they have always presented pure, real and dusty death metal. This year's album "The Stench of Eternity" is no exception. On the contrary, the band once again confirms that they are in great shape. The riffs are dripping with bad blood. The vocals are soaked with disease and the atmosphere is properly dead. I'm rummaging through old bones and nodding my head in agreement to the rhythm. Hell really does exist!

Sometimes the demons come, sometimes Death himself stops by for a chat. They all ask me for some music to recommend. CARDIAC ARREST can always be counted on. They're the benchmark for what I like about this style. Their dirty songs are like an avalanche that crushes you with great force. Coldness meets darkness here and I feel like I'm buried alive on most of the tracks. I am an old fan of the band and as such I am very satisfied. It's true that you can't teach old dogs new tricks and the gentlemen are only moving within a style all the time, but that's okay. On the contrary, I got exactly the portion of rotten meat I wanted and desired. For me it is always very important if I trust the band in their work. CARDIAC ARREST are experienced gravediggers who know very well what and how they want to play. You can't help but put a high quality stamp on their new record. "The Stench of Eternity" is a record that will make you crumble into dust. Forever and ever, amen! If you worship bands like CIANIDE, IMPETIGO, INCANTATION, CIANIDE, AUTOPSY, MASTER, OBITUARY, GRAVE, BENEDICTION, SHED THE SKIN, AUTOPSY, then you've come to the right place. The sound (Nick Gallichio - Engineering, Mixing, Javi Feliz - mastering), reminds me of a wall of skulls that will fall on you and the cover art (Nev/Gruesome Graphx - Adam Michael Nevler), no need to discuss, I want this motif on my t-shirt! I'm pretty sure the three-headed dog at the entrance will always let these Chicago maniacs in, into my catacombs. Their new release this year is as rotten and grimy as the bones of the damned. I'm gonna have another beer and get into a cold coffin. I turn the play back on and walk to the other side, across the River Styx. Exhumation of old, dusty death metal graves! Your flesh will fall off your bones! Rot, filth and endless darkness and cold!
