Sleduješ prodlužující stíny. Už dávno nejsi bdělý, ani nespíš. Ocitl ses v nekonečném světě, který se rozkládá v lidské fantazii. Hororové scény se střídají s těmi, které kdysi dávno sepsal H.P. Lovercraft. V močálech kousek za městem našli další mrtvolu. Byla již ve značném stádiu rozkladu, stejně jako tvoje mysl. Zbyly ti už jenom bolest, smutek a temnota. Z té vyšla i italská black death metalová smečka NAMTARU. Kapela, která je naplno oddána dlouhým stínům i smrti.
Je to vlastně jednoduché. S tvorbou kapely jsem se setkal poprvé při jedné ze svých toulek podzemím. Zaujal mě motiv na obalu, i témata textů. Začal jsem jejich hudbu poslouchat a již při prvních setkáních jsem zjistil, že na tento okultní obřad přijmu pozvání vždycky rád. Skladby v sobě totiž mají něco neklidného, tepajícího, záhadného. Jako noční můry.
Určitě znáte takové ty zvláštní sny, ve kterých se nemůžete hnout z místa. Začnou se kolem vás plazit jedovatí hadi, obepíná vás břečťan. Pomalu se dusíte, padáte do hlubiny. Tak přesně takový pocit mám i z nového debutového alba těchto tmářů. Líbí se mi, že je zde předkládaná muzika opravdová, uvěřitelná, že v ní najdete spoustu zajímavých momentů. Pokud máte rádi kombinaci starého prašivého death metalu v jeho tradiční podobě i zkaženou krví nasáklý black metal s plesnivou aurou, potom jste zde správně. Jednotlivé motivy v sobě mají pradávnou touhu ničit, schopnost zaujmout, dostat se vám do hlavy i do podvědomí. Líbí se mi i určitá syrovost, taková ta patina, kterou můžete potkat na opuštěných hřbitovech. Poslouchat "Cult of Ancient Deities" je jako si číst ve starých okultních spisech. Určitě někdy zkuste to, co já. Nasaďte si sluchátka a vydejte se ven za mlhavého rána. Tma je ještě v ulicích a když vylezete ven, za město, tak se začnou ve vaší hlavě odehrávat příběhy, které jsou napínavé, strašidelné, děsivé. Atmosféra bude velmi podobná té, kterou vytvořili na své nové nahrávce NAMTARU. Jako bych čerpal energii odněkud z vesmíru. Tohle album muselo být nahráváno ve starých močálech, které opět vydaly další svědectví. Mrtvoly ohlodané na kost i muziku, která vás rozdrásá zevnitř. Sleduješ prodlužující stíny. Scenes of horror alternate with those written long ago by H.P. Lovercraft. In the swamps just outside of town, another corpse was found. It was already in a considerable state of decomposition, just like your mind. All you have left is pain, sadness and darkness. Out of it came the Italian black death metal outfit NAMTARU. A band fully committed to the long shadows and death.
It's simple, actually. I first encountered the band's work during one of my underground wanderings. I was intrigued by the motif on the cover, and the themes of the lyrics. I began listening to their music and found that I was always happy to accept an invitation to this occult ceremony during the first few meetings. The songs have something restless, throbbing, mysterious about them. Like nightmares.
You must know those strange dreams where you can't move from your seat. Poisonous snakes start slithering around you, ivy surrounds you. Slowly suffocating, falling into the depths. That's exactly the feeling I get from the new debut album of these darkies. I like that the music presented here is real, believable, that there are many interesting moments. If you like a combination of old dusty death metal in its traditional form and corrupted blood-soaked black metal with a moldy aura, then you've come to the right place. The various motifs have an ancient desire to destroy, an ability to captivate, to get into your head and subconscious. I also like a certain rawness, the kind of patina you can find in abandoned graveyards. Listening to "Cult of Ancient Deities" is like reading in old occult writings. Definitely try what I did sometime. Put on your headphones and head out on a foggy morning. It's still dark in the streets, and when you step outside, beyond the city, stories begin to unfold in your head that are suspenseful, haunting, terrifying. The atmosphere will be very similar to the one they created on their new record NAMTARU. It's like I'm drawing energy from somewhere in space. This album must have been recorded in the old swamps, which again gave another testimony. Corpses gnawed to the bone and music that tears you up from the inside. You watch the shadows lengthen.
