Ulice byly plné podivně se kymácejících lidí. Někteří leželi v kaluži krve, jiní si právě přikládali žiletky k zápěstí. Několik jedinců se rozeběhlo proti zdi a roztříštilo si hlavu na tisíc kousků. Přilepeni k obrazovkám kráčeli dál jenom ti, v nichž se choroba teprve probouzela. Falešní proroci vylezli z katakomb a hlásali jedovatá slova o božím soudu. Pravdou ale je, že apokalypsa opravdu začala. V každém z nás. Kanadské LAST RETCH sleduji od jejich počátků a pokaždé jsem dostal poctivou porci syrového masa. Nasekaného nahrubo. Tahle smečka má v očích touhu zabíjet hudbou.

Letošní novinka není výjimkou. Hoří zevnitř, valí se kupředu jako dobře seřízený buldozer. Pokud máte tenhle styl smrtícího kovu rádi, nezbývá, než abyste jako já přidali volume doprava a z okna sledovali, jak dnešní zkažený svět pomalu umírá. Skladby řežou tou správnou stranou nože.

Nové songy jsou jako lavina, jako tsunami, které vás strhnou do hlubiny. Jsou velmi dobře napsané, mají v sobě potřebný drive a sílu, takovou tu černou staroškolskou auru. Některé motivy nechají vzpomenout na tvorbu CANNIBAL CORPSE, SIX FEET UNDER, BOLT THROWER. Činěno je tak ale s vlastním názorem a invencí. Zkrátka a dobře, pokud máte rádi syrový, prašivý death metal s temně krvavou atmosférou, která se vám zadře pod kůži, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Svět kolem nás možná už dávno hoří a nezbyla nám žádná naděje, ale než zemřeme v krutých křečích, tak si narveme album "Abject Cruelty" do hlavy. Určitě to znáte. Hledáte něco nového k poslechu, něco co vám vystřelí mozek z hlavy a pak najednou zjistíte, že tohle je přesně ono, tohle jsem hledal. Tak takhle nějak probíhal můj poslech. Zmínit musím i velmi povedený a masivní zvuk, i zajímavý motiv na obalu. Pánové uctívají bezezbytku starou školu. Dělají to ale inteligentně, umí napsat velmi dobré motivy. Album jsem vždycky poslouchal jako celek a osvědčilo se mi to. Jsem starý pes a dokážu ocenit, když to kapela myslí upřímně, od srdce. Novinka je tak vhodná jak jako kulisa pro porcování syrového masa, tak k exhumacím starých hrobů. Vše je zde špinavé, reálné, věřím LAST RETCH každý tón, každou notu, každý úder bicích. Jsou chvíle v mém životě, kdy se potřebuji zastavit, nechat čas aby jen tak plynul. Podívat se na všechno z jiné, morbidnější perspektivy. Kanaďané do mě zasekli svůj ostrý dráp a už mě nepustili. So this is how my listening went. I must also mention the very good and massive sound, as well as the interesting motif on the cover. The gentlemen worship the old school without a trace. But they do it intelligently, they can write very good motifs. I have always listened to the album as a whole and it worked for me. I am an old dog and I can appreciate when the band means it sincerely, from the heart. The new album is suitable both as a backdrop for cutting raw meat and for exhuming old graves.
