Riffy, ostré jako čerstvě nabroušené skalpely. Zabijácké bicí, jejichž dunění připomíná pradávné svolávání nemrtvých. Řev bestie, jedovatý, přicházející z těch nejtemnějších koutů podzemí. Procházím se zase jednou mezi ruinami kdysi krásného města, nyní zničeného lidskou hloupostí a nenávistí a poslouchám k tomu nové album italských tmářů MEMBRANCE. Ožívají přede mnou pradávné příběhy plné bolesti a utrpení. Apokalyptická, devastující atmosféra mě jen utvrzuje v tom, že zde máme co do činění s velmi propracovaných, nahrubo nasekaným death metal ve velmi dobré kvalitě.

Když jsem si dal před více než deseti lety za úkol, že budu evidovat a psát o smrtícím kovu, měl jsem na mysli právě podporu podobných kapel. Líbí se mi nálady, které během poslechu nového alba létají kolem. Jsou jako můry, toužící po světle, aby nakonec padly k zemi spálené na popel. Kapela zpívá italsky, nerozumím jim ani slovo, přesto tak nějak podvědomě tuším, o čem skladby jsou. Jsme jedné krve, říkám si stále dokola, když přidávám postupně hlasitost.

Tahle smečka je na scéně již od roku 2012 a má na svém kontě tři předchozí dlouhohrající alba, nějaké ty EP a demonahrávky. Doporučuji vám si sehnat i zbytek diskografie, stojí rozhodně za to! Novinka je potom pokračováním věcí minulých. Velmi dobře napsané skladby se vám zadřou postupně pod kůži, stanou se vaší součástí. Nové album je velmi dobře zvukově ošetřené a osobně se mi líbí i motiv na obalu. Zkrátka a dobře, po formální stránce je vše v absolutním pořádku. Vy se tak můžete v klidu soustředit na hudbu samotnou. Ta je surová, brutální, přesto melodická. V skladbách potkáte spoustu zajímavých momentů a navíc se nová nahrávka opravdu velmi dobře poslouchá. Jakoby vás vzala kapela na dlouhý výlet bez konce, po časové ose zpět a vy jako nějací morbidní cestovatelé budete sledovat příběhy plné bolesti, krve a utrpení. "Resa Marciana" se mi dostávalo do hlavy postupně, rozhodně to není album na jeden poslech. Vyžaduje čas a teprve po několika společných setkáních vylezou na povrch jednotlivé nuance a momenty. Italové vkládají do death metalu i lehké odkazy na black metalovou jedovatost, nebojí se groove pasáží a thrashové ostrosti. Výsledný koktejl vás nenechá rozhodně v klidu. Budete se kývat do rytmu, stejně jako já, užívat si mrtvolnou atmosféru, tlak, nakumulovanou energii. Svět je možná poslední roky odsouzený k zániku, ale než se tak stane, budu tuhle nahrávku poslouchat stále dokola. Má v sobě totiž něco přitažlivého, co mě pokaždé uhrane. MEMBRANCE jsou letos ve skvělé formě, to vám klidně podepíšu vlastní krví. Surový, propracovaný, divoký a nespoutaný death metal s krvavě temnou aurou!

When I set myself the task more than ten years ago of documenting and writing about death metal, I had in mind precisely supporting bands like this. I like the moods that flit about while listening to the new album. They’re like moths, longing for the light, only to eventually fall to the ground, burned to ashes. The band sings in Italian; I don’t understand a single word, yet somehow, subconsciously, I sense what the songs are about. We’re of the same blood, I tell myself over and over as I gradually turn up the volume.

This band has been on the scene since 2012 and has three previous full-length albums, a few EPs, and some demos to their credit. I recommend checking out the rest of their discography it’s definitely worth it! The new album is a continuation of their previous work. The very well-written songs will gradually get under your skin and become a part of you. The new album has excellent sound production, and I personally also like the cover art. In short, from a technical standpoint, everything is absolutely top-notch. This allows you to focus entirely on the music itself. It’s raw, brutal, yet melodic. You’ll encounter plenty of interesting moments in the tracks, and on top of that, the new recording is a real pleasure to listen to. It’s as if the band has taken you on a long, endless journey back through time, and you, like some morbid travelers, will witness stories full of pain, blood, and suffering. “Resa Marciana” gradually worked its way into my head; it’s definitely not an album for a single listen. It takes time, and only after a few sessions together do the individual nuances and moments come to the surface. The Italians infuse their death metal with subtle hints of black metal’s venom, and they aren’t afraid of groove-driven passages or thrash style sharpness. The resulting cocktail will definitely keep you on your toes. You’ll be nodding your head to the beat, just like me, enjoying the deathly atmosphere, the pressure, the accumulated energy. The world may be doomed to extinction in recent years, but before that happens, I’ll be listening to this record over and over again. It has something captivating about it that mesmerizes me every time. MEMBRANCE are in great form this year I’d gladly sign that with my own blood. Raw, sophisticated, wild, and unbridled death metal with a blood dark aura!
