Teorie o tom, odkud se bere zlo, se různí. Někdo předpokládá, že nám bylo vloženo do genetické výbavy, jiný zase, že existuje ďábel, který nás dokáže ovládnout. Existuje i názor o temné vesmírné energii, která je neměnná, věčná a je jen na nás, jestli se jí necháme ovlivnit. V závěru to není tak důležité. Zlí lidé existují, to je nepopiratelný fakt a musíme s ním žít. ASTRIFEROUS z Kostariky jsem měl možnost vidět minulý rok naživo u nás v jednom malém klubu.
Zanechali ve mě, stejně jako jejich předchozí album, hlubokou krvavou stopu. Líbilo se mi nejen absolutně surové a podmanivé vystoupení, ale rád jsem se s jejich albem toulal podsvětím. Novinka je pokračováním věcí minulých. Je propracovaná, ohlodaná na kost, má s v sobě spoustu zajímavých momentů. Jenom vyžaduje čas. Rozhodně to není nahrávka na pár povrchních poslechů.
Líbí se mi způsob, jakým jsou skladby na novém albu "Atavistic Unraveling" napsány. Mají v sobě takový ten pradávný tlak a energii, nahrubo nasekanou tmu. V některých momentech jsou komplikované a chvilku trvalo, než se mi dostaly do hlavy i do podvědomí. O to delší trvanlivost ale mají. Sedával jsem dlouhé hodiny pod noční oblohou a díval jsem se na hvězdy. Přemýšlel jsem o tom, odkud se bere zlo a poslouchal jsem stále dokola novou nahrávku. Měl jsem pocit, že ke mě odněkud z věčné temnoty prýští něco neuchopitelného, jiného. Spát jsem chodil rozervaný, rozdrásaný zevnitř. Novinka je velmi dobře zvukově ošetřená, výsledný dojem je uvěřitelný, opravdový. Motiv na obalu krásně doplňuje hudbu samotnou a jako celek nová deska rozhodně zaujme. Pokud jste, stejně jako já, fanoušci třeba takových INCANTATION, DEMILICH, TOMB MOLD, ADRAMELECH, BLOOD INCANTATION, IMMOLATION, GORGUTS, potom jste zde správně. Jednotlivé motivy jsou na povrchu chladné, odtažité, uvnitř ale tepou, pálí a žhnou. Spálí vás na popel. Kapela si jde svojí vlastní cestou, snaží se hledat osobitý výraz, rukopis a myslím si, že se jí to daří na výbornou. Odkud pochází zlo stále nevíme, ale rozhodně se vyplatí jeho kořeny hledat. Když poslouchám letošní album od těchto tmářů, tak nad tím hodně často přemýšlím. Troufám si tvrdit, že novinka je povedená po všech stránkách a určitě by neměla uniknout nikomu, kdo má temnou fantazii a rád u hudby i přemýšlí. Někde daleko, mezi vyhaslými hvězdami, se tvoří nové entity. Některé nás zničí a jiné naplní životem a sílou. Je jen na nás, jaké si vybereme a necháme je, aby na nás působily. Mohu říci jen jediné, než bude naše planeta zničena, budu tuhle desku poslouchat stále dál. Syrový, propracovaný death metal, jdoucí na samou podstatu naší temné existence! Děsivé ozvěny z vesmíru!

Theories about the origin of evil vary. Some believe it’s embedded in our genetic makeup, while others believe there’s a devil who can control us. There’s also the idea of a dark cosmic energy that’s unchanging and eternal, and it’s entirely up to us whether we let it influence us. In the end, it doesn’t really matter. Evil people exist that’s an undeniable fact, and we have to live with it. I had the chance to see ASTRIFEROUS from Costa Rica perform live last year at a small club here.
Just like their previous album, they left a deep, bloody mark on me. I not only enjoyed their absolutely raw and captivating performance, but I also loved wandering through the underworld with their album. The new release is a continuation of what came before. It’s well crafted, stripped down to the bone, and full of interesting moments. It just takes time. It’s definitely not a record for a few superficial listens.
I like the way the songs on the new album "Atavistic Unraveling" are written. They have that primal intensity and energy, that raw, choppy darkness. At times they’re complex, and it took me a while to let them sink into my mind and subconscious. But that makes them all the more enduring. I used to sit for hours under the night sky, gazing at the stars. I pondered the origins of evil while listening to the new album over and over again. I felt as though something intangible, something otherworldly, was welling up toward me from somewhere deep within the eternal darkness. I’d go to sleep feeling torn apart, torn from within. The new album is very well produced; the overall impression is believable and authentic. The cover art beautifully complements the music itself, and as a whole, the new album is definitely captivating. If, like me, you’re a fan of bands like INCANTATION, DEMILICH, TOMB MOLD, ADRAMELECH, BLOOD INCANTATION, IMMOLATION, or GORGUTS, then you’ve come to the right place. The individual motifs seem cold and distant on the surface, but inside they pulse, burn, and blaze. They’ll burn you to ashes. The band is blazing its own trail, striving to find a distinctive voice and style, and I think they’re succeeding brilliantly. We still don’t know where evil comes from, but it’s definitely worth searching for its roots. When I listen to this year’s album by these dark artists, I find myself thinking about that a lot. I dare say that this new release is a success in every respect and should definitely not be missed by anyone with a dark imagination who also likes to think while listening to music. Somewhere far away, among extinct stars, new entities are forming. Some will destroy us, and others will fill us with life and strength. It’s up to us which ones we choose and allow to influence us. I can say only one thing: until our planet is destroyed, I’ll keep listening to this album over and over. Raw, sophisticated death metal that cuts to the very core of our dark existence! Terrifying echoes from the cosmos!
