Když jsem šel spát, tak jsem netušil, že se probudím z nočních můr do úplně jiného světa. Na cizí planetě, na které budu sledovat pečlivě vystavěný příběh o houbových bytostech, o temnotě, strachu, o bolesti a utrpení. Sci-fi jsem měl vždycky rád a jeho spojení s death metalem a doomem mě fascinuje dodnes. O floridských WHARFLURCH jsem již na svých stránkách jednou psal. Předchozí album "Psychedelic Realms ov Hell" z roku 2021 ve mě zanechalo hlubokou stopu.
Jsem rád, že příběh pokračuje. Doporučuji vám si poslechnout i minulou nahrávku, dostanete o téhle kapela ucelenější obraz. Novinka pokračuje tam, kde minule pánové přestali. Na planetě, na které je doom death metal nekonečně temný, psychedelický a dostane se vám hluboko do hlavy i do podvědomí.
Minule jsem napsal, že kapela hudebně čerpala inspiraci z tvorby třeba takových OBITUARY, HOODED MENACE, BLOOD INCANTATION, ale i třeba ACID WITCH a NOCTURNUS. To platí stále, samozřejmě s tím, že pánové mají svůj vlastní rukopis, výraz a poznáte je podle několika prvních tónů. WHARFLURCH vytvořili svět, ve kterém je pro mě hrozně příjemné se ztratit, toulat se v něm, nasávat atmosféru, nechat se jím zcela pohltit. Jak asi víte, poslouchám hudbu hlavně srdcem a "Mycodeath and Rebirth in the Outer Clusters" mi ihned proniklo do krve. Pravdou ale také je, že se mi líbí téma celé nahrávky, jsem totiž starý fanoušek klasických sci-fi knih. Dodnes se k nim hrozně rád vracím. Kapele se tak povedlo vytvořit něco, co je originální, zajímavé. Některé pasáže nemůžu doslova vyhnat z hlavy, neustále si je přehrávám a užívám si vesmírnou energii, která z nich prýští jako krev z čerstvě proříznuté tepny. Kolem mě je temná noc a já se dívám na oblohu. Rád bych se vydal ke hvězdám, létal mezi planetami a stal se součástí houbového světa. Byl bych jednou z loutek, pánem i obětí, na tom by zase tolik nezáleželo. Hlavní je nakonec vždycky hudba samotná a ta je zde propracovaná, lehce technická, progresivní v mezích smrtících zákonů a hlavně neskutečně drásající. Možná se jednou rozpadnu v prach, je ale dost dobře možné, že ještě zažiji apokalypsu naší krásné Země. Teď už moc dobře vím, že existují i jiné světy, zajímavější, pestřejší, nespoutanější. Jako tahle nahrávka. Když jsem šel spát, tak jsem netušil, že se probudím z nočních můr do úplně jiného světa. Nakonec jsem tomu moc rád, tahle deska je totiž vynikající po všech stránkách. Po zvukové, grafické, ale hlavně muzikantské. Poslouchejte v naprosté tmě a se zrakem upřeným na oblohu! Temné, doom death metalové psychedelické vize! Sci-fi album, které vás vezme na výlet do jiných světů a dimenzí!

When I went to sleep, I had no idea that I would wake up from my nightmares into a completely different world a foreign planet where I would witness a meticulously crafted story about mushroom like creatures, darkness, fear, pain, and suffering. I’ve always loved sci-fi, and its connection to death metal and doom still fascinates me to this day. I’ve already written about the Florida-based band WHARFLURCH on my website once before. Their previous album, "Psychedelic Realms ov Hell" (2021), left a deep impression on me.
I’m glad the story continues. I recommend you listen to their previous album as well; it will give you a more complete picture of this band. The new album picks up right where the guys left off last time on a planet where doom death metal is infinitely dark and psychedelic, seeping deep into your mind and subconscious.
Last time I wrote that the band drew musical inspiration from the work of bands like OBITUARY, HOODED MENACE, BLOOD INCANTATION, but also ACID WITCH and NOCTURNUS. That’s still true, though of course these guys have their own signature style and sound, and you can recognize them from the very first few notes. WHARFLURCH have created a world in which I find it incredibly pleasant to lose myself, to wander through it, soak up the atmosphere, and let myself be completely absorbed by it. As you probably know, I listen to music mainly with my heart, and “Mycodeath and Rebirth in the Outer Clusters” immediately got under my skin. But it’s also true that I love the theme of the entire album I’m a longtime fan of classic sci-fi books. To this day, I still love revisiting them. The band has thus managed to create something that’s original and interesting. I literally can’t get some passages out of my head; I keep replaying them and enjoying the cosmic energy that gushes from them like blood from a freshly severed artery. A dark night surrounds me, and I gaze up at the sky. I’d love to set out for the stars, fly among the planets, and become part of the fungal world. I’d be one of the puppets both master and victim though that wouldn’t really matter all that much. In the end, it’s always the music itself that matters most, and here it’s sophisticated, slightly technical, progressive within the bounds of deadly laws, and above all, incredibly harrowing. Maybe one day I’ll crumble to dust, but it’s quite possible that I’ll still live to see the apocalypse of our beautiful Earth. Now I know all too well that there are other worlds out there more interesting, more colorful, more unrestrained. Like this recording. In the end, I’m really glad I did, because this album is outstanding in every way in terms of sound, artwork, and, above all, musicianship. Listen to it in complete darkness, with your eyes fixed on the sky! Dark, doom death metal psychedelic visions! A sci-fi album that will take you on a journey to other worlds and dimensions!
