Asi musíme padnout až na samotné dno, abychom si uvědomili, co je v životě důležité. Nevážíme si obyčejných věcí a toužíme po chvilkovém rozptýlení. Jsme jako ten muž na obalu nové návratové nahrávky holandských doom death metalistů SAD WHISPERINGS. Neseme si s sebou kříž, stoupáme nahoru jako bájný Sisyffos, abychom pokaždé spadli dolů, do temnoty. Nevím, jak to máte vy, ale na mě někdy, zdánlivě zcela bez příčiny, padá těžký splín.
Možná je to chaos dnešního světa, možná mráz v kostech, ale pokaždé, když se tak stane, tak poslouchám podobná alba, jako je "Strategy of Tension". Novinka má v sobě jakousi vnitřní sílu, možná dokonce magii, která pokaždé dokáže utřídit moje myšlenky. Abych přežil. Na dlouhohrající počin jsme čekali od roku 1993, kdy vyšlo "Sensitive to Autumn". Jsem toho názoru, že se nové EP opravdu povedlo. Klidně vám to podepíšu.
Ať už se podívám na album z jakékoliv stránky, tak musím pokaždé jen souhlasně pokývat hlavou. Povedený, sytý a velmi dobře čitelný zvuk. O zajímavém obalu jsem již mluvil. Hlavní jsou ale, ostatně jako vždycky, nápady samotné. Holanďanům se povedlo nahrát skladby, které drásají zevnitř, jsou zajímavé, neotřelé, opravdu dobře napsané. Je znát, že jsou pod nimi podepsáni zkušení muzikanti, kteří moc dobře vědí, co a jak chtějí hrát. Pánové se sice drží pevně zavedených doom death metalových postupů a schémat, ale dělají to elegantně, s nadhledem a zkušenostmi mistrů v oboru. Někdy si tak připadám, jako bych stál na vysoké hoře, díval se do hlubiny a přemýšlel o tom, jaké by to bylo krásně letět. Fantazie pracuje na plné obrátky, je to pro mě důkaz, že je nahrávka opravdu dobrá, že má svoji vznešenou duši i opravdové srdce. Možná bych dopadl až na dno, roztříštil se na tisíc kousků a ztratil se ve věčnosti. Čtveřice nových songů a jeden živý záznam, vše opředené pevnými pavučinami smutku. Pochmurné, do šedé a černé zabarvené motivy. Asi jako každý z nás potřebuji být někdy sám. Jen se tak toulat ulicemi, skončit na hřbitově, užívat si ranní rozbřesk uprostřed podzimního lesa. Na všech těchto místech a v podobných situacích vyniklo "Strategy of Tension" nejvíce. SAD WHISPERINGS určitě ocení jak staří fanoušci, kteří vyrůstali na hudbě devadesátých let, tak všichni ti, kteří se rádi toulají tmou. Asi musíme padnout až na samotné dno, abychom si uvědomili, co je v životě důležité. Nevážíme si obyčejných věcí a toužíme po chvilkovém rozptýlení. Zvedám znovu oči k nebi a hledám prchavé chvilky naděje. Temné a chladné doom death metalové variace na lidský smutek a utrpení! Naděje umírá poslední!

Perhaps we have to hit rock bottom to realize what is important in life. We don't appreciate the simple things and crave momentary distractions. We are like the man on the cover of the new comeback album by Dutch doom death metal band SAD WHISPERINGS. We carry a cross with us, climbing upward like the mythical Sisyphus, only to fall back down into darkness every time. I don't know about you, but sometimes, seemingly for no reason at all, I am overcome by a heavy melancholy.
Maybe it's the chaos of today's world, maybe it's the chill in my bones, but whenever that happens, I listen to albums like "Strategy of Tension". This new release has a kind of inner strength, maybe even magic, that always manages to put my thoughts in order. So that I can survive. We've been waiting for a full-length album since 1993, when "Sensitive to Autumn" was released. I think the new EP is really good. I'll gladly sign that.
No matter which page of the album I look at, I can only nod my head in agreement. The sound is well-done, rich, and very clear. I have already mentioned the interesting cover. But the main thing, as always, is the ideas themselves. The Dutch band has managed to record songs that tear you apart from the inside, are interesting, original, and really well written. It is clear that they are the work of experienced musicians who know very well what and how they want to play. The gentlemen stick to well-established doom death metal techniques and patterns, but they do so elegantly, with the insight and experience of masters in their field. Sometimes I feel like I'm standing on a high mountain, looking into the depths and thinking about how beautiful it would be to fly. My imagination is working at full speed, which is proof to me that the recording is really good, that it has a noble soul and a true heart. Maybe I would fall to the bottom, shatter into a thousand pieces, and get lost in eternity. Four new songs and one live recording, all shrouded in thick webs of sadness. Gloomy motifs tinged with gray and black. Like all of us, I sometimes need to be alone. Just wandering the streets, ending up in a cemetery, enjoying the dawn in the middle of an autumn forest. It was in all these places and similar situations that "Strategy of Tension" stood out the most. SAD WHISPERINGS will certainly be appreciated by old fans who grew up on the music of the nineties, as well as by all those who like to wander in the dark. Perhaps we have to hit rock bottom to realize what is important in life. We don't appreciate the ordinary things and long for momentary distractions. I raise my eyes to the sky again and search for fleeting moments of hope. Dark and cold doom death metal variations on human sadness and suffering! Hope dies last!
