Sestoupím několik pater pod zem. Po plesnivých schodech. Po stěnách stéká hnis a z katakomb se ozývají podivné zvuky. Moc dobře vím, kam jdu. Tuhle kobku navštěvuji pokaždé, když mě štve současný divný svět. Krásné reklamy plné lidí z plastu, střih a rozstřílené mrtvoly, střih a vzteklý dav a rabování. Jsem už starý pes a potřebují svůj klid. Tady, hluboko pod zemí je mi nejlépe. Odstřižen od všeho, rozmlouvám s nemrtvými a poslouchám hudbu, kterou mi doporučí. Tentokrát jsem otevřel jednu starou rakev. Je v ní pohřben prokletý a drží v rukou nové EP britských maniaků OVERTHROW. 

Nejsou to jenom staré prašivé thrash metalové postupy, které zde potkáte. Kapela svoje melodie značně ušpinila i blackem a deathem. Posluchač tak dostane pořádnou porci pradávných melodií, u kterých nadskakují víka od rakví. Tahle nahrávka má morbidně podmanivou atmosféru. Pokud jste někdy byly u exhumace hrobů z devadesátých let minulého století, asi moc dobře víte o čem píšu. Nová deska řeže jako čerstvě nabroušený skalpel. 


Hudba, kterou britští vojáci apokalypsy hrají, je stará, plesnivá a shnilá. Deska má poctivý, dobře čitelný a zároveň organický zvuk. Připomíná mi staré nahrávky mých oblíbenců, které jsem kdysi poslouchal na kazetách. V současné době je stále na vzestupu vlna thrash metalu. Bohužel, většina mladých kapel v sobě nemá žádný drive ani sílu. OVERTHROW na to jdou jinak. Nijak se fanouškům nepodbízejí, hrají si po svém. A já jim věřím každý tón, každou notu. Určitě to znáte, přinesete si album domů, těšíte se, až bude klid, sednete si a těšíte se. Pak zmáčknete play a buď znuděně odcházíte pryč a nebo shoříte v plamenech, jako v případě "Ascension of the Entombed". Lebky, nabodnuté na kůly, které jsou na obalu, se také perfektně hodí k předkládané muzice. Autorem je Deuteromali z Indonésie a mě nezbývá než napsat - kurva, dobrá práce. To lze ale prohlásit o tomhle EP i jako o celku. Mám rád, když je hudba špinavá a shnilá, líbí se mi, když se dostane do mých žil. Britové nám umíchali jedovatý koktejl, který když vypijete, tak zemřete v krutých křečích. Skladby jsou pokryté pavučinami a obsahují v sobě velké množství patiny, kterou máme my, staří metaloví psi tolik rádi. Nikdy mě neomrzí návštěvy starých katakomb. Potřebuji ke svému životu už jenom tmu, dobrou muziku a nějaké to pivo. Pokud jste na tom stejně jako já, dejte si nové EP od OVERTHROW do hlavy a to pořádně nahlas. Je to opravdový, reálný masakr, u kterého praskají kosti. Pradávný, temný, špinavý black thrash death metal, který vás pohřbí zaživa! Nahrubo nasekaná tma!

I'll descend several floors below the ground. On moldy stairs. Pus dripping down the walls and strange noises coming from the catacombs. I know exactly where I'm going. I visit this dungeon whenever I'm annoyed by the strangeness of the world. Beautiful ads full of people made of plastic, cut and shot corpses, cut and angry crowds and looting. I'm an old dog and need my peace. I'm best here, deep underground. Cut off from everything, I talk to the undead and listen to the music they recommend. This time I opened an old coffin. Buried in it is the cursed one, holding the new EP from British maniacs OVERTHROW. 

It's not just the old dusty thrash metal methods you'll find here. The band has also dirtied their tunes considerably with black and death. The listener gets a good portion of ancient melodies that make coffin lids jump. This record has a morbidly captivating atmosphere. If you've ever been to an exhumation of graves from the 1990s, you probably know exactly what I'm writing about. The new record cuts like a freshly sharpened scalpel.


The music the British soldiers of the apocalypse play is old, moldy and rotten. The record has an honest, well-read yet organic sound. It reminds me of old recordings of my favorites that I used to listen to on cassette tapes. There is a wave of thrash metal still on the rise these days. Unfortunately, most young bands have no drive or power in them. OVERTHROW are going about it in a different way. They don't pander to the fans, they play their own way. And I trust them with every note, every note. I'm sure you know, you bring the album home, you're looking forward to it being quiet, you sit back and enjoy it. Then you press play and either walk away bored or burn up in flames, as in the case of "Ascension of the Entombed". The skulls impaled on stakes that are on the cover also fit perfectly with the music presented. The author is Deuteromali from Indonesia, and I have no choice but to write - fuck, good job. But the same can be said about this EP as a whole. I like it when music is dirty and rotten, I like it when it gets into my veins. The Brits have concocted a poisonous cocktail that if you drink it, you'll die of violent convulsions. The songs are covered in cobwebs and contain a great deal of the patina that we old metal dogs love so much. I never get tired of visiting the old catacombs. All I need to live my life is darkness, good music and some beer. If you're like me, get the new EP from OVERTHROW in your head and do it loud. It's real, true bone-cracking carnage. Ancient, dark, dirty black thrash death metal that will bury you alive! Coarsely chopped darkness!

Krev nelze jen tak vyměnit. Něco málo o tom vím. Thrash metal byl stylem, který kdysi utvářel můj pohled na svět. Bylo mi tenkrát sladkých třináct, když jsme začali chodit na periferii našeho města v džínových vestách, s nášivkami na zádech a s kazeťákem v ruce. Parta kluků a holek, která všem ukazovala fuck off a u piva neustále řešila muziku. Hudba mi zůstala a stále mívám někdy chuť se vrátit po časové ose zpět. Jsou kapely, které mi to stále umožňují. Jedněmi z nich jsou španělští OMISSION. Staří psi, kteří ještě nezapomněli, jak se má tenhle styl hrát.

Stačilo pustit poprvé play a byl jsem ztracen. Tohle je přesně ono! Tohle je moje krevní skupina. Pánové jdou až ke kořenům tohoto stylu a dělají to velmi dobře. Dali si pozor na dobrý zvuk, opatřili album zajímavým obalem. Zkrátka a jednoduše, nepodcenili vůbec nic a navíc přidali velkou porci temné energie. "Disciples of Ravens Vengeance" vás rozseká na kusy. Pokud máte opravdu rádi tento styl, je pro vás novinka doslova povinností. 


Tady se tančí na čerstvě exhumovaných hrobech. A dělá se to elegantně a s nadšením pro věc. Kapela ve svých skladbách odkazuje na legendy jako SODOM, KREATOR a nebo staré SLAYER. Přiznám se, že jsem jejich kouzlu opravdu propadl. Žádné pózy, žádné klišé, jak je to dnes tak časté. Jenom hudba, energie a tlak. Také spousta zajímavých nápadů a melodických linek, které se vám zadřou pod kůží. Je jasné, že svět se dnes v hudbě otáčí úplně jinak. Ale mě je to jedno. Cítím totiž z novinky takovou tu špinavou, poctivou patinu, srdce chcete-li. Španělé jsou opravdoví, upřímní v tom, co a jak hrají. Nijak se nepřetvařují, útočí přímo a bez zbytečností. A já nemohu jinak, než hodnotit desku jako skvělou. Možná moji hlavu zdobí již spousta šedivých vlasů, ale podobné nahrávky budu vždy poslouchat s chutí. Džínová vesta mi už mnoho let není a většina mých kamarádů z party je dávno po smrti. Jsem moc rád, že ještě existují kapely, kteří drží prapor thrash metalu dále vztyčený. Když si to vezmu kolem a kolem, tak se vždycky hrozně těším na víkendy. Vyrazím ven a když se vrátím domů, tak potřebuji další dávku pořádné hudby. Něco, co mi rozproudí krev v žilách. OMISSION se to opět povedlo. A udělali to s nadhledem a jiskrou v oku. Kdo jste zažil devadesátá léta, asi víte, o čem píšu. Tohle je jízda na splašeném koni přímo do pekla! Krev nelze jen tak vyměnit. Něco málo o tom vím. Black thrash metalový útok prašivých psů! Budete roztrháni na kusy! Skvělý zásek!

Blood can't just be replaced. I know a little something about it. Thrash metal was a style that once shaped my worldview. I was sweet thirteen at the time, when we started walking around the outskirts of our town in denim vests, patches on our backs and a tape recorder in our hands. A bunch of guys and girls showing everyone the fuck off and constantly talking about music over beers. The music stuck with me and I still sometimes feel like going back down the timeline. There are bands that still allow me to do that. One of them is the Spanish OMISSION. Old dogs who haven't forgotten how to play this style.

I just had to play it for the first time and I was lost. This is it! This is my blood group. The gentlemen go to the roots of this style and do it very well. They've made sure to have a good sound, they've given the album an interesting cover. In short, they didn't underestimate anything and added a big portion of dark energy. "Disciples of Ravens Vengeance" will tear you to pieces. If you really like this style, this new release is literally a must for you.


This is where they dance on freshly exhumed graves. And it's done gracefully and with enthusiasm for the cause. The band references legends like SODOM, KREATOR and old SLAYER in their songs. I admit that I really fell under their spell. No posing, no clichés, as is so common nowadays. Just music, energy and pressure. Also lots of interesting ideas and melodic lines that get under your skin. It's clear that the world is turning completely differently in music today. But I don't care. I can feel that dirty, honest patina, heart if you will, from the new stuff. The Spaniards are real, honest in what they play and how they play it. They don't put on any airs, they attack directly and without unnecessary frills. And I can't help but rate the album as great. Maybe my head is already decorated with a lot of grey hair, but I will always listen to records like this with gusto. My denim vest is many years gone and most of my party friends are long dead. I'm so glad there are still bands out there who keep the thrash metal banner further raised. All things considered, I always look forward to the weekends. I'll go out and when I get home I need another dose of proper music. Something to get my blood pumping. OMISSION has done it again. And they've done it with panache and a twinkle in their eye. If you lived through the nineties, you know what I'm writing about. This is riding a stampede straight to hell! Blood can't just be replaced. I know a little something about that. Black thrash metal attack of the mangy dogs! You will be torn to pieces! Great shot!

Pokaždé, když exhumuji nějaký starý hrob v téhle oblasti, tak mě mrazí v zádech. Mám neodbytný pocit, že se mnou dávno mrtví rozmlouvají. Křičí na mě a jejich slova jsou plná vzteku a nenávisti. Kdysi prokletí se navěky toulají mezi naším a oním světem. Nepomáhají modlitby, ani zaříkávání, zbyla jen na kost ohlodaná hudba, plná syrového, divokého black metalu. TEUFELSBERG z Polska navazují na to nejlepší, co kdysi scéna přinesla. Jsou true a ortodoxní a věřím jim každý tón, každou notu. Mám to takhle nastavené. Hudba mě musí drásat, musím díky ní mít děsivé noční můry.

Základem je klasický, tradiční černý kov, ukovaný z té nejkvalitnější oceli. Songy mají náležitě pochmurnou a temnou atmosféru. Setkali jsme se dnes na tomto hrobě, abychom vyvolali duše démonů. Sepněte ruce a poklekněte. Oheň hoří jasným plamenem a pentagram září do tmy! 


Album je určeno pro všechny okultisty, nihilisty a tmáře. Abyste "Pakt mit dem Teufel" zcela pochopili, musí být vaše duše černá a musíte trávit celý svůj život ve stínu. Kapela odkazuje na devadesátá léta minulého století a dělá to velmi zkušeně a elegantně. Pánové sice nepřinášejí nic nového, ale to ani nikdo nechce. Děsivá atmosféra je všude přítomná. Chlad, temnota a beznaděj. Nic jiného už neexistuje. Netuším, kdy se to stalo a asi to už nikdy nezjistíme, ale dnes je zcela jasné, že zlo zvítězilo. Ulicemi se toulají lidé bez tváře, bez názoru. Mají mrtvý pohled. Jednou je vykopou z hrobu a budou vypadat úplně stejně, jako prokletí. TEUFELSBERG překládají v rámci žánru spoustu zajímavých momentů a pasáží. Oběť je připravena a krev teče proudem. Následuje tanec na hrobech v rytmu téhle desky. Zvuk, obal, provedení i produkce, vše je v nejlepším pořádku. Můžete si tak užít pradávné rituály pro vyvolání kruté smrti i temných sil. U black metalu vždy nejvíc záleží, jestli lze kapele věřit jejich morbidní práci. Poláci neznají slitování. Jsou maniakální, ďábelští, šílení. A hlavně opravdoví a uvěřitelní. Dovedu si představit starou kobku, hluboko pod zemí. Po zdech stéká hnis a v řetězech se zmítá další oběť. Kapela hraje nahlas a vše postupně graduje. "Pakt mit dem Teufel" je deska, která se povedla po všech stránkách. Odkapává z ní zkažená krev. Pokud máte tenhle styl rádi, je pro vás novinka doslova povinnost. Nepomáhají modlitby, ani zaříkávání, zbyla jen na kost ohlodaná hudba. Syrový, mrazivý, divoký black metal ze starých plesnivých hrobů! Satan, Smrt, Temnota!

Every time I exhume an old grave in this area, I get chills. I get the nagging feeling that the long-dead are talking to me. They're shouting at me, and their words are full of anger and hatred. The once cursed wander forever between this world and the next. Prayers and incantations are of no avail, all that's left is the bone gnawing music, full of raw, savage black metal. TEUFELSBERG from Poland continue the best of what the scene once brought. They are true and orthodox and I trust them with every note, every note. I have it set up like that. The music has to make me shiver, it must give me nightmares.

The basis is classic, traditional black metal, forged from the finest steel. The songs have a suitably gloomy and dark atmosphere. We meet today on this grave to summon the souls of demons. Join hands and kneel. The fire burns bright and the pentagram glows into the darkness!


The album is intended for all occultists, nihilists and obscurantists. To fully understand "Pakt mit dem Teufel", your soul must be black and you must spend your whole life in the shadows. The band refers to the 1990s and does it very skilled and elegantly. The gentlemen don't bring anything new, but nobody wants that either. The eerie atmosphere is everywhere present. Cold, dark and hopeless. Nothing else exists. I don't know when it happened and we'll probably never know, but it's very clear today that evil has won. Faceless, voiceless people roam the streets. They have a dead look. One day they'll be dug out of the grave and they'll look just like the damned. TEUFELSBERG translates a lot of interesting moments and passages within the genre. The victim is ready and the blood is flowing. This is followed by dancing on graves to the rhythm of this record. The sound, the cover, the performance and the production, everything is in the best order. You can enjoy the ancient rituals to invoke cruel death and dark forces. With black metal, it always matters most if a band can be trusted with their morbid work. Poles know no mercy. They are maniacal, diabolical, insane. And above all, real and believable. I imagine an old dungeon, deep underground. Pus dripping down the walls, another victim in chains. The band plays loudly, and everything gradually builds up. "Pakt mit dem Teufel" is a record that succeeds on all counts. It's dripping with bad blood. If you like this style, this new release is literally a must for you. Moc dobře víš, že když tento lektvar vypiješ, zemřeš. Lidské dějiny jsou plné krve, násilí a boje o moc. MALOKARPATAN se tentokrát vydali na dlouhý výlet do doby císaře Rudolfa II. Opět nám přinášejí zajímavý mix hudebních melodií, které působí velmi svěže, zajímavě. Kapela má již dlouhé roky svůj vlastní rukopis. Stačí mi většinou několik prvních tónů a ihned je poznám. Včera jsem byl v jednom starém chrámu v našem městě. Byla tam výstava morbidních obrazů.

Nějak se mi všechno spojilo v jedno. Poslouchám "Vertumnus Caesar", popíjím prudký jed a doufám, že získám nesmrtelnost. Umírám pomalu, ale hudba nakonec přetrvá věky. Přede mnou se promítá na zeď spousta podivných představ. MALOKARPATAN jsou zpět silnější než kdy dřív.


Zasažen jejich osudem jsem ve starém sklepení. Máme tu laboratoř, jsme kouzelníci, zaříkáváme, objevujeme, proklínáme, mícháme lektvary, které vás uhranou. Stejně jako tahle deska, stejně jako podmanivá a hravá atmosféra celé nahrávky. Zvuk, obal, nápady, vše je podřízeno podmanivým melodiím. Zazní jemné odkazy na MASTER´S HAMMER, ROOT, BATHORY, VENOM, MERCYFUL FATE, NEGURA BUNGET, zemitý black metal, náznaky rockové opery, klasický poctivý heavík i progresivní prvky. Prostudujte si texty, jsou opravdu zajímavé. Připadá mi, že MALOKARPATAN vytáhli z archívů spoustu zajímavých a neotřelých motivů. Často si říkám, že podobná hudba se musí poslouchat srdcem. Musí se nechat plynout, jen tak, jako mrtvá voda ze studně. Kapela se nebojí použít různé lidové i klasické nástroje a dělá to velmi elegantně. Slováci na novince dále zdokonalují svoje nápady. Je pro mě hrozně příjemné je poslouchat. Rád se k nové desce stále vracím, nejlépe v noci, když je všude klid. Zavřu oči a najednou jsem na dvoře Rudolfa II., spolu s hvězdáři, vědci, šarlatány i démony. Připadá mi, že skladby jsou napsány krví. Líbí se mi ostrý zvuk kytar, zpracování vokálů, ale hlavně celkový dojem a nálada celého alba. Pokud máte bohatou fantazii a jste hudebními gurmány, mohu vám novou nahrávku jenom doporučit. Zní jako ozvěny starých časů, jako mrazivá výpověď o naší historii. Poslouchám "Vertumnus Caesar", popíjím prudký jed a doufám, že získám nesmrtelnost. Umírám pomalu, ale hudba nakonec přetrvá věky. Vznešený, majestátní black heavy metalový výlet do tajemných časů alchymie a okultních věd!

You know very well that if you drink this potion, you will die. Human history is full of blood, violence and power struggles. MALOKARPATAN took a long trip to the time of Emperor Rudolph II. Once again, they bring us an interesting mix of tunes that feel very fresh and interesting. The band has had its own signature for many years. I usually just need the first few notes and I recognize them immediately. Yesterday I was in an old church in our town. There was an exhibition of morbid paintings.

Somehow it all came together for me. I'm listening to "Vertumnus Caesar", drinking strong poison and hoping to gain immortality. I'm dying slowly, but the music will last forever. Ahead of me, many strange images are projected on the wall. MALOKARPATAN are back stronger than ever.

Struck by their fate, I'm in an old basement. We have a laboratory, we are magicians, we cast spells, we discover, we curse, we mix potions that will enchant you. Just like this record, just like the captivating and playful atmosphere of the whole record. The sound, the cover, the ideas, everything is subordinated to the captivating melodies. There are subtle references to MASTER'S HAMMER, ROOT, BATHORY, VENOM, MERCYFUL FATE, NEGURA BUNGET, earthy black metal, hints of rock opera, classic honest heavy and progressive elements. Study the lyrics, they are really interesting. It seems to me that MALOKARPATAN have pulled out a lot of interesting and fresh themes from the archives. I often think that music like this must be listened to with the heart. It has to be allowed to flow, just like dead water from a well. The band is not afraid to use various folk and classical instruments and does it very elegantly. The Slovaks continue to refine their ideas on the new album. I find it terribly pleasant to listen to them. I like to keep coming back to the new record, preferably at night when it's quiet everywhere. I close my eyes and suddenly I'm in the court of Rudolph II, along with stargazers, scientists, charlatans and demons. It seems to me that the songs are written in blood. I like the crisp sound of the guitars, the processing of the vocals, but most of all the overall feel and mood of the whole album. If you have a rich imagination and are a musical gourmet, I can only recommend this new recording. It sounds like echoes of old times, like a chilling testimony of our history. I'm listening to "Vertumnus Caesar", drinking violent poison and hoping to gain immortality. I'm dying slowly, but the music will eventually last for ages. A sublime, majestic black heavy metal trip to the mysterious times of alchemy and occult sciences!

Tváře ušpiněné krví. Díváš se k nebi, ale už dávno si ztratil naději. Už dlouho tě děsil dnešní divný svět plný zla a přetvářky. Raději si se toulal prázdným temným lesem a hledal stará pohřebiště. Tajemné symboly, děsivé legendy. Sedneš si na kamenný oltář a odříkáš obrácenou modlitbu. Vložíš kazetu do přehrávače a pustíš si novou desku německých tmářů DIABOLIC NIGHT. Sleduji jejich cestu od počátků a i letos musím potvrdit, že vás novinka vrátí po časové ose zpět. Oheň opět hoří jasným, černým plamenem!

Pokud máš rád starý plesnivý metal, který je tradiční a klasický, tak jsi tu správně. Kapela nám opět umíchala velmi jedovatý koktejl, který můžete s klidem podávat na okultních seancích. Záleží jen na vás, jestli na jejich hru přistoupíte. V dnešní době se objevilo spousta nových kapel, hrajících postaru, ale většinou mě moc nebaví. Nehrají totiž srdcem, jako tihle šílení Němci.


Nemusíš si oblékat džínovou vestu, ani nemáš mít gramofon. Stačí, když máš rád poctivou muziku. Je jedno, jakému bohu se klaníš, je jedno, jestli si true a nebo ortodox. Důležité je, abys měl rád starý heavy metal, speed, black a temnotu. Vstával jsem brzy ráno a v ulicích se toulaly přízraky. Byl jsem mimo, daleko v lesích, na starém pohřebišti. Kdysi jsem jako mladý uctíval kapely jako VENOM, DESTROYER 666, DESASTER, NIFELHEIM, BATHORY, SLAYER. Jsem jim věrný dodnes. DIABOLIC NIGHT jsou jejich pokračovateli. Líbí se mi způsob,  jakým na tvorbu těchto legend navázali. Z jejich hudby je cítit jasná inspirace, ale vše je zahrané elegantně, inteligentně a s nadhledem. To se mi potom nedivte, když vypnu všechny obrazovky kolem sebe a vyrazím ven. Daleko za město, na lesní pěšiny. Ze tmy mě sledují démoni, dravci i šílené bestie. Usmívám se a podupávám si do rytmu. Oheň uvnitř mě byl opět zapálen. Užívám si zvuk, s chutí se dívám i na obal. Album "Beneath The Crimson Prophecy" si dávám do hlavy velmi často. Je totiž dobře napsané. Mám pocit, že mi songy drásají obličej do krve, že mě mrazí v zádech. Dobrá hudba je vždy o emocích a Němci letos opět odvedli skvělou práci. A přidali i něco navíc. Takovou tu plesnivou patinu, které v sobě vždy mívaly dobré desky. Tváře ušpiněné krví. Dívám se k nebi, ale už dávno jsem ztratil naději. Už dlouho mě děsí dnešní divný svět plný zla a přetvářky. Raději se toulám prázdným temným lesem a hledám stará pohřebiště. Tajemné symboly, děsivé legendy. Oheň opět hoří jasným, černým plamenem! Black, speed, heavy metalový rituál plný chladu a temnoty!

It's up to you to decide if you're up for their game. There are a lot of new bands playing the old fashioned way nowadays, but mostly I'm not into them. They don't play with their hearts like these crazy Germans.


You don't have to wear a denim vest or have a record player. You just have to like honest music. It doesn't matter what god you worship, it doesn't matter if you're true or orthodox. What matters is that you like old heavy metal, speed, black and dark. I used to wake up early in the morning and there were ghosts wandering the streets. I was out in the woods, far away, in an old burial ground. When I was young, I used to worship bands like VENOM, DESTROYER 666, DESASTER, NIFELHEIM, BATHORY, SLAYER. I'm still loyal to them to this day. DIABOLIC NIGHT are their successors. I like the way they built on the work of these legends. There is a clear inspiration from their music, but everything is played with elegance, intelligence and insight. Don't blame me then when I turn off all the screens around me and head out. Far out of town, on the forest paths. From the darkness, demons, predators and mad beasts follow me. I smile and stomp to the beat. The fire inside me has been rekindled. I enjoy the sound, looking at the cover with relish too. I put the album "Beneath The Crimson Prophecy" in my head a lot. It's well written. I feel like the songs scratch my face to the blood, they give me chills. Good music is always about emotions and the Germans have done a great job again this year. And they've added a little something extra. That moldy patina that good records always had. Faces stained with blood. I look to the heavens, but I lost hope a long time ago. Všichni o něm věděli, ale nikdo nikdy nezahlédl jeho tvář. Většinou stál ve stínu a usmíval se. Zahalený v kápi se objevil pokaždé, když někdo umřel, když se stalo něco zlého. Nasával atmosféru strachu a beznaděje. Krmil se bolestí. Vyprávěly se o něm děsivé příběhy, spousta lidí jej potkala ve zlých snech. Byl přízrakem, našeptávačem, byl naším svědomím. Připomínal padlého kněze, kterého můžete potkat v prokletých kostelech. Vyznával staré rituály, znal zvrácené modlitby. Včera jsem jej potkal. Stále nevím, jak vypadá, ale pozval mě na výlet do záhrobí.

S chutí přijímám a ihned je mi doporučena nová deska holandsko-norských tmářů ASAGRAUM. Kapely, která hraje totálně bezbožný black metal. Sejdeme do podzemí, užíváme si jednotlivé melodie. Padám pomalu k zemi. Mám prokousnuté hrdlo a usmívám se. Konečně poctivý kov smrti, který koluje i v mých žilách. 


Kapela ve své tvorbě odkazuje na tradiční, klasické black metalové kapely z devadesátých let minulého století. A dělá to velmi zkušeně, odhodlaně a uvěřitelně. Jedná se o třetí dlouhohrající album a opět je plné špíny, hnisu, chladu a vzteku. U tohoto stylu je vždy hodně důležité, jestli je hudba uvěřitelná. Musí smrdět sírou. Atmosféra musí být těžká, plesnivá a mrazivá. ASAGRAUM tohle všechno umí a dělají to velmi elegantně. Zvuk, obal, celkový dojem, vše je podřízeno temnotě. Po formální stránce je všechno v nejlepším pořádku. Skupina ale není jen pokračovatelem, následovníkem. Má spoustu vlastních nápadů a v určitých momentech mi připadá jejich hudba až psychedelická. Mám pocit, že jsem byl dlouhé roky zavřený v plesnivé kobce. A když jsem se konečně dostal ven, tak byl svět dávno zničený. Smog, násilí, strach. Země připomínala území po válce. Totálně zničené. Chvilku jsem nevěděl, jestli je to realita nebo zlý sen. Přízraky dávno zvítězily. To je nám všem jasné. "Veil Of Death, Ruptured" ve mě probudilo spoustu představ a černých fantazií. Líbí se mi, jakým způsobem je hudba napsána. Je podmanivá, zběsilá a chladná zároveň. Připomíná mi ďábelskou mantru, kterou znají jen vyvolení. ASAGRAUM jsou ze své podstaty true a ortodoxní. Zároveň se nebojí prozkoumat všechna dostupná špinavá zákoutí. Nahrávku nelze jinak, než doporučit.  Nasávám atmosféru strachu a beznaděje. Krmím se bolestí. Vyprávěly se o mě děsivé příběhy, spousta lidí mě potkává ve zlých snech. Jsem přízrakem, našeptávačem, jsem vaším svědomím. Démonický, ledový black metalový rituál, u kterého se povedlo vyvolat Satana! Infernální ozvěny z onoho světa!

Everyone knew about him, but no one ever saw his face. Mostly he stood in the shadows and smiled. The hooded figure appeared whenever someone died, whenever something bad happened. He had an air of fear and hopelessness. He fed on pain. Horrible stories were told about him, many people met him in bad dreams. He was a phantom, a whisperer, he was our conscience. He was like a fallen priest you might see in cursed churches. He practiced old rituals, knew twisted prayers. I met him yesterday. I still don't know what he looks like, but he invited me on a trip to the afterlife.

I readily accept and am immediately recommended the new album by Dutch-Norwegian darkies ASAGRAUM. A band that plays totally unholy black metal. We go down to the underground, enjoying the tunes. I'm falling slowly to the ground. My throat is raw and I'm smiling. Finally, the honest metal of death, which flows in my veins.


The band's work refers to traditional, classic black metal bands from the 1990s. And they do it very skilled, determined and believable. This is their third full-length album, and once again it's full of filth, pus, cold and rage. With this style, it's always very important if the music is believable. It has to smell of brimstone. The atmosphere has to be heavy, musty and chilling. ASAGRAUM can do all that and they do it very elegantly. The sound, the cover, the overall impression, everything is subordinated to the darkness. Formally, everything is in the best order. But the band is not just a follower, a successor. They have a lot of their own ideas and at certain moments I find their music almost psychedelic. I feel like I've been locked in a moldy dungeon for years. And when I finally got out, the world had long since been destroyed. Smog, violence, fear. The country resembled a territory after the war. Totally destroyed. For a moment, I didn't know if it was reality or a bad dream. The phantoms had long since won. We all know that. "Veil Of Death, Ruptured" awoke in me many fantasies and black fantasies. I like the way the music is written. It's haunting, frantic and cold at the same time. It reminds me of a devilish mantra that only the chosen know. ASAGRAUM are true and orthodox by nature. At the same time, they're not afraid to explore all the dirty corners available. The recording cannot but be recommended. I soak up the atmosphere of fear and despair. I feed on pain. I've had scary stories told about me, many people meet me in bad dreams. I'm a ghost, a whisperer, I'm your conscience. A demonic, icy black metal ritual that managed to summon Satan! Infernal echoes from the other world!

Pokaždé, když se s touto kapelou někde potkám, když jí slyším, tak si vzpomenu na kulový blesk, který jsem kdysi viděl u nás na horách. Také po nich zůstává spálená země a velká díra v mé hlavě. Čeští thrasheři jsou pro mě úkaz. Jejich hudba je vždy velmi zajímavá, pestrá, neklidná a pokaždé v ní najdu spoustu zajímavých momentů. Samotnou kapitolou jsou potom koncerty, které bývají vynikající.

Za tímhle vším je nejen nepopiratelný talent, ale také velký kus práce, odříkání a srdce. Z kapely, která ve svých počátcích působila jako další retro skupina v řadě, je dnes uskupení, které svými novými deskami nakope zadek o hodně slavnějším jménům. O zvuku (Martin Hollandr - mixing, mastering, Jindřich Tománek - recording) netřeba diskutovat. Je náležitě ostrý, čitelný a s klidem snese srovnání se světovou produkcí. O obal se postaral můj oblíbený Paolo Girardi, který představil motiv, který je vstupem do jiné, temnější dimenze.


EXORCIZPHOBIA jsou i letos vesmírní kovbojové, kteří se nechali volně inspirovat kapelami typu VOIVOD, PANTERU, SACRECH REICH, ANTHRAX, DARK ANGEL. Dělají to ale s nadhledem a citem a i když lze s výše zmíněnými najít spoustu styčných bodů, musím desku hodnotit velmi pozitivně. Pánové totiž přinášejí velkou spoustu svých nápadů. Dokáží být techničtí, divocí a suroví, ale zároveň melodičtí a nebál bych se napsat elegantní. Kapela přetavila svůj talent a poctivou práci v hudbu, která je vykována z té nejkvalitnější oceli. Po světě samozřejmě běhá spousta podobných skupin, ale "Spiritual Exodus" se navíc velmi dobře poslouchá. Mám chuť se k albu neustále vracet. Osobně se mi potom nejvíc líbí taková ta těžko popsatelná živelnost, odhodlání a opravdovost. Zkrátka a jednoduše, když chodím po ulici nebo sedím doma u přehrávače, tak pro mě není nové album jen obyčejnou kulisou, ale mám pocit, že prožívám každý song, všechny texty (které jsou mimochodem taky velmi zajímavé a osobité). Kdysi dávno jsem býval ortodoxní thrasher, ale to už je spousta let. Teď jsem ve stavu, kdy tento styl už příliš neposlouchám. Musím potkat nahrávky, jako je tato, aby moje srdce zase začalo tepat v rychlejším tempu. Je vlastně jedno, jestli se díváte z okna na vichřici, sledujete ve zprávách povodně a nebo posloucháte "Spiritual Exodus". Všechno má společné velkou spoustu energie a síly. Tušil jsem dopředu, že mě tahle smečka nezklame. Přesto jsem překvapen z jejího vývoje. Budu teď chodit a všem novinku doporučovat. Chcete skvělý thrash metal! Máte ho mít! Tsunami z jiné, temné dimenze!

Every time I meet this band somewhere, when I hear them, I think of a ball lightning I once saw in our mountains. They also leave scorched earth and a big hole in my head. Czech thrashers are a phenomenon for me. Their music is always very interesting, varied, restless and I always find many interesting moments in it. Then the concerts are a chapter in themselves, and they tend to be excellent.

Behind all this is not only undeniable talent, but also a lot of work, sacrifice and heart. The band, which in its early days was just another retro band in a row, is now a group that kicks the ass of much more famous names with its new records. There is no need to discuss about the sound (Martin Hollandr - mixing, mastering, Jindřich Tománek - recording). It is properly crisp, clear and can easily withstand comparison with world production. The cover artwork was done by my favourite Paolo Girardi, who introduced a motif that is an entrance to another, darker dimension.


EXORCIZPHOBIA are space cowboys again this year, who have been inspired by bands like VOIVOD, PANTERU, SACRECH REICH, ANTHRAX, DARK ANGEL. But they do it with insight and feeling, and even though there are many points of contact with the aforementioned bands, I have to evaluate the album very positively. The gentlemen bring a lot of their own ideas. They can be technical, wild and raw, but at the same time melodic and I wouldn't be afraid to write elegant. The band has translated their talent and honest work into music that is forged from the finest steel. Of course, there are plenty of similar bands running around the world, but "Spiritual Exodus" is also very easy to listen to. It makes me want to keep coming back to the album. Personally, what I like most is the hard-to-describe liveliness, determination and sincerity. Simply put, when I walk down the street or sit at home in front of the player, the new album is not just an ordinary backdrop for me, but I feel like I'm experiencing every song, all the lyrics (which by the way are also very interesting and personal). Once upon a time I used to be an orthodox thrasher, but that was many years ago. Now I'm in a state where I don't listen to that style much anymore. I need to come across records like this to get my heart beating at a faster pace again. It doesn't really matter if you're looking out the window at a blizzard, watching floods on the news, or listening to "Spiritual Exodus". All of it has a lot of energy and power in common. I knew ahead of time that this pack wouldn't let me down. Still, I'm surprised at its evolution. I'll be going now and recommending the news to everyone. You want great thrash metal! You got it! Tsunami from another, dark dimension!

DOMINANCE - Slaughter of Human Offerings in the New Age of Pan

Existují lidé, v jejichž přítomnosti se cítíte divně. Mají zlý pohled a někteří smrdí sírou. Jsou jako šelmy, jsou jako bestie, které vás zničí, roztrhají na kusy. Když nastane válka, stávají se hrdiny. Protože k smrti milují bolest a utrpení. Jednou se mi zdál sen, ve kterém jsem se probudil a vyšel ven z domu. Už neexistovalo žádné světlo, žádný čistý vzduch. Jenom nihilismus, špína a hnis, nenávist a temnota. Bestie zase jednou zvítězily. 

Na svůj sen jsem si vzpomněl i letos v létě, když jsem začal poslouchat debutové album "Slaughter of Human Offerings in the New Age of Pan" polských black metalistů DOMINANCE. Mraky byly zase jednou nízko a lidé kolem mě ukazovali svoji odvrácenou tvář. Podle mě je o těchto věcech a náladách dobrý černý kov. Musí hořet, pálit a chladit zároveň. Musí vám rozdrásat obličej do krve. Polákům se to povedlo na výbornou. Tohle je šílená jízda přímo do pekla! 

Kapela je složena ze zkušených muzkantů (MÖRTALIST, RAPED CHRIST), kteří se rozhodli nás spálit na popel. Můžete si užít opravdu zabijácký zvuk (Haldor Grunberg - Santa Studio (Warsaw, PL)  (Behemoth, Dopelord, Witchmaster)), podívat se na válečný a velmi povedený obal (Witchfucker). Základem hudby těchto maniaků jsou ozvěny od kapel jako MARDUK, DARK FUNERAL, 1349, zazní ale i lehké thrashové motivy (SODOM). Výsledkem je smrtící koktejl, který když ochutnáte, tak zemřete v šílených křečích. Vždycky jsem říkal, že dobrý black metal se pozná podle toho, že máte chuť rozmlátit nejbližší zeď. Ve skladbách je pověstné zlo, špína a hnis. DOMINANCE sice neobjevují nic nového, ale to ani není účelem. Zkrátka a jednoduše, mám neustálou chuť se k nahrávce vracet, rvát si ji do hlavy a poslouchat ji pořádně nahlas. Vždycky jsem měl raději tmu a chlad a proto si dost často zalezu do stínu a užívám si ostré melodie, chorobný vokál, zničující bicí a neskutečně temné nálady, které jsou z desky cítit. Jako když najdete v lese rozkládající se mršinu. Tvář bez očí, vnitřnosti vylezlé ven. Také cítíte pach smrti? Tak přesně takhle na mě působí i "Slaughter of Human Offerings in the New Age of Pan". Už neexistuje žádné světlo, žádný čistý vzduch. Jenom nihilismus, špína a hnis, nenávist a temnota. Bestie zase jednou zvítězily. A nám nezbývá nic jiného, než tančit na jejich hrobech. Téhle smečce se povedlo nahrát album, které je dokonalou esencí toho, co mám na tomhle stylu rád. Zničující, nihilistické, mrazivé black metalové rouhání! Infernální vstup do zlé dimenze!

I remembered my dream this summer when I started listening to the debut album "Slaughter of Human Offerings in the New Age of Pan" by Polish black metallers DOMINANCE. The clouds were low once again and the people around me were showing their turned away face. For me, good black metal is about these things and moods. It must burn, scorch and cool at the same time. It must rip your face to blood. The Poles have done it well. This is a crazy ride straight to hell!

The band is composed of experienced musicians (MÖRTALIST, RAPED CHRIST) who decided to burn us to ashes. You can enjoy a really killer sound (Haldor Grunberg - Santa Studio (Warsaw, PL) (Behemoth, Dopelord, Witchmaster)), check out the warlike and very hilarious cover art (Witchfucker). The basis of the music of these maniacs are echoes from bands like MARDUK, DARK FUNERAL, 1349, but there are also light thrash motifs (SODOM). The result is a deadly cocktail that when you taste it you will die in mad convulsions. I've always said that you can tell good black metal by the fact that you feel like smashing the nearest wall. There's the proverbial evil, filth and pus in the songs. DOMINANCE may not be discovering anything new, but that's not even the point. In short, I have a constant urge to go back to the record, rip it into my head and listen to it properly loud. I've always preferred darkness and coldness, and that's why I often crawl into the shadows and enjoy the sharp melodies, sick vocals, devastating drums and incredibly dark moods that can be felt on the record. Like finding a decomposing carcass in the woods. A face without eyes, guts crawling out. Do you smell death too? That's exactly how "Slaughter of Human Offerings in the New Age of Pan" affects me. There's no more light, no more clean air. Only nihilism, dirt and filth, hatred and darkness. The beasts have won once again. And we have no choice but to dance on their graves. This pack has managed to record an album that is the perfect essence of what I love about this style. Devastating, nihilistic, freezing black metal blasphemy! An infernal entry into an evil dimension!

Recenze/review - VALRAVN - The Awakening (2023)

Nejdřív jsem byl rád, že jsem daleko od zlého a ošklivého světa. Zavřeli mě do malé kobky, několik metrů pod zem. Bez jídla, bez pití. Jen já, tma a několik zuřivých krys. Umíral jsem pomalu a marně volal o pomoc. Rozdrásal jsem si obličej do krve a proklínal jsem Boha. Zajímavé je, že úplně stejné stísněné a bolestivé pocity mám i u poslechu nové desky finských black metalistů VALRAVN. Ti letos přicházejí se svým druhým dlouhohrajícím albem a rovnou musím napsat, že se jedná o přesně takový ten druh hudby, která koluje i v mých žilách.

V kostech se mi usadil mráz a vrátily se mi děsivé noční můry. Říkají o mě, že jsem prokletý. Muzika zde připomíná jedovaté hady, kteří se plazí směrem k vám. Když vás uštknou, tak nejdříve překvapeni hledíte do tmy, abyste nakonec padli na zem a zemřeli v nekonečných křečích. Mám rád black metal, který u mě vyvolává emoce. Zde se potkávají chladné melodie s atmosférou strachu a beznaděje. 


V tomhle stylu si opravdu hodně vybírám a VALRAVN prošli mým sítem i letos. Důvodů je několik. Skladby jsou velmi dobře napsány, zvuk pálí a chladí zároveň a vokály připomínají choroby ze starých časů. Finové si hrají s temnými náladami jako šelma se svojí kořistí. Nejvíc mě ale zaujalo chvění, zvláštní tlak, energie, které se v jejich hudbě ukrývají. Bylo pro mě velmi zajímavé zhasnout všechna světla a zavřít se ve svém pokoji. Jen si tak sedět a poslouchat. Nebo se vydat do lesů se sluchátky na uších a čekat, až se setmí. Ze stínů vystoupily přízraky a kývaly souhlasně hlavou. Ano, tahle deska se opravdu povedla. Je silná ve svých základech, ale kapela netlačí zbytečně na pilu, když to není potřeba. Nechává vyniknout sílu melodií. Přiznám se bez mučení, k nahrávce jsem se často a rád vracel, neustále si ji rval do hlavy. Není divu, povedlo se opravdu vše - zvuk, obal, celkové provedení, produkce, vše je na perfektní úrovni. Všechno bylo podřízeno jedinému, aby vynikla hudba a nápady, kterých je na nahrávce velké množství. V dnešní době mě spousta nových kapel nudí, protože jenom kopírují. VALRAVN sice stojí na pevných klasických, tradičních základech, ale zároveň přidávají něco svého, kus vlastní invence. A to velmi oceňuji! Od chvíle, kdy jsme slyšel "The Awakening" poprvé, tak se těším na každou mlhu, na noc, na staré katakomby, které rád za zvuků téhle desky navštěvuji.  Rozdrásal jsem si obličej do krve a proklínal jsem Boha. Mrazivý black metal, který hoří jasným plamenem!

At first I was glad to be away from the bad and ugly world. They put me in a small dungeon a few meters underground. No food, no drink. Just me, the dark, and a few fierce rats. I was dying slowly, crying for help in vain. I tore my face to blood and cursed God. Interestingly, I have the same cramped and painful feelings when listening to the new album by Finnish black metallers VALRAVN. They come this year with their second full-length album and I have to write right away that this is exactly the kind of music that runs through my veins as well.

A chill settled in my bones and the scary nightmares came back. They say I'm cursed. The music here is like poisonous snakes slithering towards you. When they bite you, you first stare in surprise into the darkness, only to fall to the ground and die in endless convulsions. I like black metal that evokes emotion. Here, cold melodies meet an atmosphere of fear and despair.


I really choose a lot in this style and VALRAVN passed through my net this year. There are several reasons. The songs are very well written, the sound burns and chills at the same time, and the vocals are reminiscent of the diseases of old. The Finns play with dark moods like a beast with its prey. But what caught my attention the most was the trembling, the strange pressure, the energy that is hidden in their music. It was very interesting for me to turn off all the lights and shut myself in my room. Just sit and listen. Or go into the woods with headphones on and wait for it to get dark. Ghosts stepped out of the shadows and nodded their heads in agreement. Yes, this record was really good. It's strong in its fundamentals, but the band doesn't push the envelope unnecessarily when it doesn't need to. It lets the power of the melodies shine through. I'll admit without torture, I returned to the record often and gladly, constantly banging it around in my head. It's no wonder, everything has been done - the sound, the packaging, the overall performance, the production, everything is at a perfect level. Everything has been subordinated to one thing, to make the music and ideas stand out, of which there is a lot on the record. Nowadays I'm bored with a lot of new bands because they just copy. VALRAVN may stand on solid, traditional classical foundations, but at the same time they add something of their own, a piece of their own invention. And I really appreciate that! Ever since the first time I heard "The Awakening" I've been looking forward to every fog, to the night, to the old catacombs that I like to visit to the sounds of this record. I've ripped my face to shreds and cursed God. Freezing black metal that burns with a bright flame!
