Na město padla jako nějaká velká poklice mlha. Nebylo vidět skoro na krok a zdálo se, že se jedná o dlouhodobější záležitost. Ihned stoupl počet krádeží a také vražd. Říkalo se, že se mlhou potulují přízraky, které jsou krmené lidskou bolestí. Probudil jsem se uprostřed noci. Lampa před domem poblikávala. Napil jsem se vody a koutkem oka zahlédl, že jsou tam. Přišly si pro mě. Postavy bez tváře. Ševelivý šepot, měl jsem pocit, že se mi rozskočí hlava.

Stejně jako vyslanci temnoty působí i kapela SCORN OF CREATION z Nového Zélandu. Letos obohatili svoji diskografii o druhé album. Jedná se opět o propracovaný death metal se spoustou blackových i lehce progresivních elementů. Tahle smečka je poskládána ze samých zkušených muzikantů tamní scény. A je to hodně znát.


Z hudby SCORN OF CREATION se ve vlnách vynořuje inspirace třeba takovými MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SLAYER, IMMOLATION, CRYPTOPSY. Samozřejmě jako vždy, berte má přirovnání jen jako vodítko, rozhodně se nejedná o žádnou kopii. Kapela umí nejen hrát, ale také dokázala do skladeb propašovat velké množství zajímavých momentů. Songy nejsou tedy jen perfektně složeným řemeslem, ale mají v sobě i potřebnou energii a drive. Věci, které mnohým chybí. "Annihilation Cult" vás strhne do temnoty. Jde o desku, se kterou zabloudíte v ulicích obestřených mlhou. Budete si užívat a doslova nasávat atmosféru, která je pochmurná i devastující zároveň. Postupně se dostane do vašich snů, bude i vaší součástí. Navíc, kapela hraje opravdu zajímavě, s takovým tím starodávným zápalem. Doporučuji i předchozí stejnojmennou nahrávku z roku 2018. Dostanete o kapele celkový morbidní obraz. Teď mi to došlo, vždyť SCORN OF CREATION jsou oněmi přízraky, které čekaly v mlze před naším domem. Jsem hrozně rád, že jsem jejich pozvání přijal. Jinak bych byl ochuzen o skvělý smrtící zážitek. Přišly si pro mě. Postavy bez tváře. Ševelivý šepot, měl jsem pocit, že se mi rozskočí hlava. Death metal s krvavým rukopisem!

"Annihilation Cult" je velmi propracovaným albem, čerpajícím ze základů death metalu v podobě v jaké ho kdysi hrávali třeba takoví MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SLAYER, IMMOLATION, CRYPTOPSY. Pánové se nebojí ani ledových melodií a jako celek mi album opravdu připomíná nějakou hodně zákeřnou a zlou nemoc. Hudba mi kroutí vnitřnostmi, tlačí mi na mozek, dělá se mnou věci, které jste možná zažili jen v těch nejděsivějších snech. Připadám si, jakoby mi kapela vymáchala obličej ve sražené krvi. Z desky je cítit pravá, ryzí oddanost death metalu. Potkává se zde realita s krutostí. Vše je zahrané s inteligencí, syrovostí a špínou ve skladbách. Tohle je obřad, k vyvolání samotné Smrti. Death metalový buldozer, který vám rozdrtí lebky! Velmi dobrá záležitost pro všechny fanoušky morbidní temnoty!

"Annihilation Cult" is very worked on album. It is based on the death metal foundations - just like it was played by MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SLAYER, IMMOLATION, CRYPTOPSY. These gentlemen are not afraid to play cold melodies and as a whole the album reminds me very bad and evil disease. This music twists my bowels, pushes my brain and makes my body do thing you can only imagine in your worst nightmares. I feel like the band blew my face in blood. From this album you can feel a real, true devotion to death metal. Reality meets cruelty here. Everything is played with intelligence, rawness and dirtiness in those songs. This is a ceremony to invoke death itself. Death metal bulldozer that will crush your skull! Very good thing for all fans of morbid darkness!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Scorn Of Creation are a Death Metal band from New Zealand, we formed in 2018 after playing in a variety of different bands across the years. Me (Seth Jackson) and Bassist George Prowse wanted to start a new project to play the kind of metal we'd been wanting to play for a long time, so instead of joining an already established band, we decided to start something new and fresh.

Our style is a combination of old-school elements with a new/modern twist, we have influence from bands like Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy but also a lot of new bands as well.

I feel like we've found our own sound and it's something a little bit different, drawing inspiration from places even outside of the metal genre.


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The new album 'Annihilation Cult' was recorded across Australia and New Zealand remotely, the songs were composed by Seth and George and we all recorded our own parts in our own recording spaces.
The album was then mixed and mastered by me at my home studio in New Zealand. I took care of mixing, mastering and production.
I think this album sounds miles ahead of the first album we produced, much more bottom end, much bigger and it captures the bands live sound in a more fluid way.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

Annihilation Cult was originally released only as a digital release, but we have now pressed a limited 100 copies of the album on a bound book style CD package.

We have plans in the future to release the album (and potentially our first album) on vinyl also.


Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Our singer Kris Gillan wrote the lyrics and lyrical concept, the album is a continuation of the story from the first album.

Annihilation Cult is essentially a concept album, it follows a deranged cult leader who's determined to reach heaven to fight the gods, unknown to his followers, he convinces them that this is a noble cause, a safe cult for any who join. The cult gradually descends into madness and eventually death.


Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The logo was originally designed by Mortuus Art, but tweaked and redesigned by me, I handled the designing of the website and socials.

I think social media, in 2021 is a great tool for independent bands to get their music heard. It has been very helpful for us to share our work and spread it far beyond our home country, especially without a record label.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We had a label for our first album (Universal/Deadboy Record) but we decided to do this album independently, simply so that we could have more control of what we were doing and release the album in our own time and to our own specifications.

We're happy with how the release for Annihilation Cult is going so far, but we're not ruling out the potential for another label in the future.


Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

I get my inspiration from so many places, soundtracks from video games, movies, the world around me and a plethora of genres.

These days I'm just looking for something unique and which stands out, it doesn't matter who or what it is.

Myself, I don't idolise any one band anymore. But growing up my influences were Dying Fetus, Cryptopsy, Morbid Angel, Carcass, Exhumed, The Faceless and plenty more.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

We haven't sent our new album out to any labels as of yet, we're getting through the initial release and then we'll see how we go with looking for potential distro/label deals.
We may continue as independent, all depending how things move forward.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

So far, in 2021 we have 2 shows planned. May 15th in Wellington, New Zealand and another down the line for an official release party for the album.

Unfortunately, due to Covid our plans for shows outside of New Zealand have been stopped in their tracks. We're hoping the opportunity for more shows will come once things calm down, on a global level.


What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

We're currently talking about a third album, something to follow this release up. The plans for the future for us will be getting back out on the gigging circuit and outside of New Zealand once the pandemic dies down.

Nejdřív to vypadalo jako hra. Všechny nás zajímalo tajemno, temné síly, rádi jsme diskutovali o okultismu i satanismu. Nevím, koho to napadlo prvního, ale to už je jedno. Nahá dívka, kterou bylo nutné sehnat, se nabídla sama. Lákala ji tma, stejně jako nás. Nevím, kdy se to zvrhlo. Možná ve chvíli, kdy jsme stáli kolem ní a ohně hořely. Modlitby gradovaly, negace všeho dobrého. Primitivní black death metal zněl starým opuštěným kostelem. Mokvající rána, zděšený výraz v očích. Najednou je všechno syrové a opravdové. Krutá realita a výsledkem je jedna mrtvá, která měla ještě život před sebou.

Od té doby nás, stejně jako ukrajinské black death metalisty HELLFIRE, navštěvují démoni. Probouzejí v nás zlé vzpomínky, lákají nás do podzemí, kde bychom se stali my obětí. Podobná hudba musí vznikat na takových místech i prožitcích, jinak není uvěřitelná. "Lobotomized by Holy Crucifix" je jasně vymezeným albem. Ortodoxní záležitost pro všechny prokleté. A tenhle příběh se opravdu stal, četl jsem o něm.


Nutno také rovnou dodat, že takto se kdysi opravdu hrávalo. Novinkové album je staré, prašivé, ale také bolestivé a studené jako katakomby, do kterých budete jednou uloženi. Pokud tedy vaše tělo nespálí a nerozpráší na louce. HELLFIRE uctívají stejné základy, jako kapely typu IMPIETY, ANGELCORPSE, SARCÓFAGO, BLASPHEMY, MORBID ANGEL, INCANTATION, PERDITION TEMPLE, DIABOLIC. Jedná se o nahrubo nasekanou tmu, o záblesk pekelného ohně, který vás sežehne plamenem. Světlo již dávno neexistuje, v undergroundu to tak stále platí. Ukrajinci se rouhají, kříže jsou otočeny směrem dolů, zvuk je plesnivý a zákeřný. Negace všeho dobrého. V pomalejších pasážích na mě doráží smutek, v rychlejších slyším lámání kostí. Obal jest černobílý, takové mám stejně nejraději a výjev zaujme každého prokletého. HELLFIRE se drží tradic, jsou klasičtí a je to jen a jen dobře. Podobně namíchaný koktejl smrti, tmy a jedu mi nemusíte nabízet, ochutnám vždy s chutí sám. Blasfemie, hoď kamenem, kdo jsi bez viny. Zapalte svíce, obřad může začít. Tentokrát jej dokončíme celý. Nehledě na oběti. Surový black death metal, který vám vypálí cejch!

Na oltáři bezbožnosti bylo obětováno další tělo. Z temných zákoutí podzemí přišli na tento svět další obrácení věrozvěstové, aby šířili spalující oheň, smrt a death black metal. HELLFIRE. Ukrajinští vyslanci samotného pekla. Temné, zákeřné komando, ničící obrovskou silou všechno živé v okruhu několika kilometrů. Pocta starým dobrým IMPIETY, ANGELCORPSE, SARCÓFAGO, BLASPHEMY, MORBID ANGEL, INCANTATION, PERDITION TEMPLE, DIABOLIC. Neskutečně zabijácký zvuk, riffy plné šílenství a hlas otevírající víka od rakví. Takhle zní pravé, nefalšované peklo. HELLFIRE se pohybují v jasně daných mantinelech stylu, nepřesahují je, ale odvádějí neskutečně poctivé a uvěřitelné řemeslo. Pokud máte rádi death metalovou temnotu devadesátých let, s přihlédnutím ke zvráceným satanským rituálům, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. "Lobotomized by Holy Crucifix" vás smete, zničí, vyvrhne a přikove navěky do plesnivých kobek vypáleného kostela. Mysleli jste si, že už jste zažili všechno zlo světa? Tak to jste na omylu. Pusťte si novinku těchto šílených ukrajinských bezvěrců a poznáte pravou nefalšovanou death black metalovou nenávist. Nenašel jsem na albu jediné slabé místo a nahrávka se pro mě stala jednou z obrovských překvapení letošního roku. Vítejte v pekle! Smrt už na vás čeká!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Necrobaphomet: Hello Jakub! Hellfire was formed at the end of 2014 in the city of Kremenchuk, central Ukraine. The group was formed by Karagh and Necrobaphomet, members of the black metal band Paranomia, which had a cult status in the Kremenchug underground scene. Also in the first line-up of the group was the drummer Skullcrusher.

Our goal was to play fucking old school black metal with elements of death and thrash metal. Between 2014 and 2019, Hellfire played many live shows, toured Lithuania and released their debut EP "Goat Revenge" in 2017. In the spring of 2019, the lineup changed with Tank as the new drummer.

Since then Hellfire is:

Karagh - guitars/ vocals

Necrobaphomet - bass

Tank - drums.

With this line-up, the first full-length album "Lobotomized by holy crucifix" was recorded.


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

Necrobaphomet: The recording of the album dragged on for almost two years, this was due to various problems, including the change of drummer. The sound recording, mixing and mastering were done in two home studios, whose names will tell your readers nothing.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

Necrobaphomet: The album was released on April 4, 2021 by the Polish label Mara Production in a quantity of 500 pieces in a digipack and a jewelcase CD format.


Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Karagh: The author of lyrics is actually Hellfire, almost always we write them together, drawing all the power from the energy flow that we feel from the powerful, dark, whose names cannot be named …and sometimes just sitting after hard rehearsals with a bottle of good beer ... haha

Necrobaphomet: Lyrics theme is traditional for this genre. Blasphemy, Satanism, Armageddon, death and mental illness - all these wonderful things are present in the lyrics of our songs. We're not trying to open up new horizons, we're just paying tribute to extreme metal and its attributes.


Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Necrobaphomet: The logo was created by Karagh and edited by me. The album cover was painted by Alexey Sivitsky from Godlike Ikons studio, at my request. Our group does not have a website, and it seems to me that it is no longer relevant to have a website in the era of social networks. Of course, social networks provide a huge opportunity for young bands to show themselves to the global public all over the world, as well as to establish contact with record labels. Hellfire is not very active on social networks such as Facebook and Instagram, but there you can always find the latest news on the band’s official profiles.


Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

Necrobaphomet: To be honest, we weren't looking for a label. We have promoter Igor "Possessed by Hate" Ignatchik, he is responsible for all contacts with the labels. We recently released an album and have not even received our copies of the discs yet, so I still cannot appreciate the work of the label. But I definitely like the design and format of our album release by the label, they also advertise it well on social networks and YouTube.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Karagh: we listen to different bands and styles, there are many decent bands like Inquisition, Belphegor, Azazel... but I can say that inspiration for us comes mainly from the very source of the information field, the strength of the ancient ones, their power and incredible anger.


Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

Necrobaphomet: No, we didn't. Our promoter did it. Maybe in the future we will release the album on another label in cassette or vinyl format, but we have no suggestions yet.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

Karagh: we played about 20-30, or hell knows how many concerts, and each of them was special and good in its own way, so it just won't be possible to single out which one is the best, or more precisely: it is not possible, because basically these events are polished with a good amount of fuel , and after, it's hard to remember something, well, if you understand what I mean ... haha

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Karagh: Our plans are truly ambitious! Build houses, plant trees, raise children, and, of course, drink in old age to the grave, from such a life. Haha. Well, if seriously: then we plan to play, create, record and fill everyone with our powerful charge, which we pour into our work.

Nejdřív to vypadalo jako dobrodružství. Temné, záhadné chodby pod naším městem se zdály být romantickým místem, se spoustou krásných zákoutí. Jenže jsme šli až příliš hluboko. Pod námi tekla špinavá stoka, vzduchem se vznášel pach rozkládajícího se masa a z potrubí se ozývaly skřeky, po kterých běhal mráz po zádech. Spadl jsem do něčeho, co vzdáleně připomínalo bahno. Jenže tu byla i krev, kosti, lebka, která se najednou se smíchem vynořila nad hladinu.

Každá dobrá hudba ve mě dokáže probudit fantazii. Tentokrát se opět setkávám s kanadskými mistry temných melodií, s death black doom metalovými CHASMDWELLER. Ti nám opět přichystali nové EP, čtyři skladby, čtyři těla, která je potřeba pohřbít. Musí zmizet, rozložit se. Také máte strach? Já se přiznám, že takhle k ránu, když nemůžu spát a pustím si tuhle desku, tak ano.


Připadá mi, že každá nová deska od této kapely je morbidnější, hnusnější, ošklivější. Funerální nálada, chorobný vokál, riffy, které odsekávají maso od kostí. Tohle všechny dohromady působí uvěřitelně, hnilobně. Jako když najdete u cesty mršinu, kterou už nahlodal zub času i kolonie červů. Chytnete stejného cizopasníka, ten se vám jako vetřelec usadí v břiše. Probouzí se jen u podobné hudby. Ožívá a začíná hlodat. Budeme mít neskutečné křeče, přesto si budete desku pouštět stále znovu a znovu, dokud nebude konec. Nebo nový začátek? Někde dole pod městem, ve stokách, kam normální smrtelník nesmí. Padáš obličejem přímo do vody. Zalykáš se, topíš, už jsou tady. Netrvalo to ani minutu. Krysy, s malými očky, lesklou kůží a hladovými zuby. Jsi na řadě, nedá se nic dělat, v podzemí to takhle funguje. Přežijí jen ti silní. CHASMDWELLER patří mezi vyvolené. Nikdy jsem je k nikomu nepřirovnával. Ne že by byl jejich death doom metal, nasáklý blackem nějak hrozně originální, ale znovu to neudělám. Nechme mluvit raději stíny. Sluší se to. Takhle to v nekonečných chodbách funguje! Jsi jenom kusem masa, kterému propůjčili černou duši. Nezapomínej na to! Přesně takové je "Fossilized"!

I watch the world through a bloody fog. I want to huddle into myself, bend my body in a coffin. I got cold and I'm waiting for darkness. I die and reborn, an endless cycle that cannot be stopped. I meet blurred faces as cursed as I am. We're undead. The flesh has long fallen from our bones and we are more like shadows than human beings. Put your hands together in a circle and recite a prayer. Maybe we'll visit you, maybe we'll give you a sign, and maybe you'll die. The candle burned, and all around got cold. I watch the world through a bloody fog, listen to a new album of Canadian death / doom / black metallers CHASMDWELLER.

"Fossilized" cannot even be seen as an ordinary record. Rather, it is an occult ceremony to summon the undead. The band takes you on a long trip to the rotten swamps, entangles you in the rigid cobwebs of riffs and eventually digs a few meters under ground. This album burns from the inside, hurts and wrinkles. Turn off all lights!

"Fossilized" is a very hot, crazy work. It is full of morbid moods, endless shadows and impermeable darkness. Personally, I enjoy the dark atmosphere the most. Listening to myself, I feel that I am sitting alone in an abandoned temple, where a few moments ago there was a session for evoking spirits for whose power we have no idea. I still see drops of blood on the altar, and anger is literally soaked into the walls and the images full of suffering. The record has a great sound, blurred ill vocal and interesting cover. The band moves between shadows for granted, with ease and overview. Heavy duty doom metal meets mouldy death metal and coarsely chopped darkness. I enter the underground with CHASMDWELLER. Do you also hear so much pain from the endless corridors of the underworld? These are the echoes of the undead. You can also find them on the new album "Unconquered Abysses". Death got a new name. Death doom metal album imprinted with the faces of the cursed!

Přijel jsem zrovna z Plzně. nedostal jsem tam kolej. Sice jsem splňoval požadavky na vzdálenost, ale ono se tam tenkrát hodně podplácelo. Vůbec jsem nevěděl, co mám dělat. Jdu rovnou z autobusáku k Hymrům, v hlavě se mi to mele. Zůstanu stát mezi dveřmi. "Kurva zavři, táhne na mě": ozve se od jednoho stolu, ale nějak je nevnímám. Na našem místě v rohu sedí sice Markéta přesně tak, jak jsme se domluvili. Ale je tam s ní i její bývalý. Magor, který propadl norskému black metalu. Vzal si z něj ale spíš to horší, podle mě to byl zlej, nešťastnej kluk. Pozdravím a moje milá se ke mě přivine. Není to ale jako obvykle, jakoby se před bývalým styděla.

Koukám na chlapce naštvaně a jsem připravený mu ji každou chvíli natáhnout. Ty vole, to je moje holka. Ty už si ji kdysi zklamal tolikrát a tolik ji ublížil, že nemáš nárok, rozumíš. Ale nahlas jsem neřekl nic. Markéta mi totiž tiskla ruku, zarývala mi nehty do ruky a prosila mě pohledem. Měl jsem mu dát tenkrát do držky. Ale jako na potvoru přišly holky s Vencou a vše obrátili ve srandu. Dal jsem si tedy pivo a snažil se mluvit o své návštěvě Plzně. Nikoho to ale moc nezajímalo, v naší partě převládal názor, že jsem je zradil. Mluvil Pan Satanista. Jako úplnej debil. Měl skelný pohled, připomínal jeblý kněží. Byl v rauši, když kecal o Satanovi, zlu, krvi, nápisech na zdech, o pentagramu. Samozřejmě četl satanskou bibli, jako my všichni, ale u našeho stolu jsme si z toho dělali spíš srandu, on tomu fakt věřil.

Vyprávěl nám, jak chodí psát na hřbitovní zeď prasečí krví. Bylo to i v novinách. Taky ukradl nějaký plesnivý kosti a lebky, vzal si je domů. Zdědil po bábrdli starej domek na Chlumu. To bejvalo cvičiště pro ruský vojáky. Ti konečně odtáhli a vrátili jim kdysi zabraný pozemky. On se tam uchýlil, vlastně spíš utekl. No a já mu tohle všechno řekl. Byl jsem opilej, žárlivej a naštvanej, že se s ním Markéta zase baví. Poslal mě do prdele, prohodil něco o vykuchání a práskl za sebou dveřmi. Blbý bylo, že se po chvilce zvedla i má milá s tím, že ho jde utěšovat. Chytnul jsem ji sice za ruku, ale vysmýkla se mi a plakala. Prý ho musí zachránit. Achjo, tyhle samaritánky vopravdu miluju. Jo, ale já ji fakt miloval. Toužil jsem po ní celý den. Zmizela. Večer nepřišla domů a já byl vyděšený. Tedy potom, co jsem se vyvztekal a nadával jí nahlas v koupelně.

Byl jsem hrozně utahanej, tak jsem někdy k ránu usnul. Byl jsem nejistý, co když mi někde zahýbá? Přece jen, chodili spolu, něco je muselo kdysi přitahovat, měli společné zážitky. Znáte to. Probudil jsem se s hrozným strachem v srdci. Marně jsem ji hledal vedle sebe v posteli. Zachvátila mě panika, vrátily se mi všechny zlé okamžiky, které jsem kdy prožil. Plašil jsem, přerývavě dýchal a bouchal pěstí do stolu. Co teď? Většinou, když byl nějaký průser, šel jsem za Sabathem. Vyspával zrovna opici. Byl nevrlý, ale slíbil, že se mnou dojede na Chlum. Vyrazili jsme za chvilku, já vykouřil nervózně snad pět cigár. Klepu se jak ratlík, najednou jsem hrozně slabej, bojím se, opravdu se bojím. Sabath moc nemluví, jen občas pronese něco o tom, že to bude dobrý. Sám tomu podle tónu hlasu příliš nevěří. Víte, někteří lidé jsou opravdu zlí. Jsou to bestie, které čekají na každou příležitost, aby někomu ublížili. Satanista bohužel patřil mezi ně.

Domek je hluboko v lese, nevede sem ani pořádná silnice, jenom štěrková cesta. Málem mineme odbočku. A já se modlím. Já starej metalista se modlím. Vždyť jsme jenom obyčejní puberťáci. Tohle bylo zlo, ošklivé a temné zlo. Cítil jsem je v kostech. Otevřeme rezavou branku. Mezi keři jsou kousky nějakého roztrhaného zvířete. Asi liška. Před domem to vypadá jako u nějaké čarodějnice z pohádek. Do větru cinkají a chřestí kosti. Vykopnu dveře, Sabath jde rovnou za mnou. Oba máme ruce zaťaté v pěst. Smradlavá kuchyně, nikdo nikde. Obývák, v něm puštěná televize a klip šílený black metalový kapely, co neznám. Zpěvák řve, má v ruce meč a dělá náznaky, že někoho zabíjí. Jsem tím doslova fascinován. V knihovně jsou samé knížky o sériových vrazích, jen temnota a špína. Jsem fakt vyděšený, kam ses to zase dostal? Kurva, kurva, kurva...

Ozve se výkřik. Markéta, vyrazím tryskem ven. Na zemi se válí její triko Black Sabbath, panebože, o co tu jde, tak je doopravdy tady nebo tu byla. Moje fantazie pracuje na plné obrátky až do okamžiku, kdy spatřím svoji dívku přivázanou ke stromu. Kolem chodí Satanista a má v ruce nůž. "Tak tys mě chtěla opustit, ty kurvo": zaslechnu jako ve snu. Zbytek je o instinktech. Vykopnu mu kudlu z ruky. Je hrozně hubený, slabý, taky bere drogy, to se dozvíme ale až po nějaké době. Sabath mu svojí medvědí nohou přišlápne ruku k zemi. Biju ho do obličeje. Mele něco o tom, že stejně všichni musíme zemřít. Musejí mě zastavit. Odvážu Markétu a pláče mi v náručí. Přivážeme debila na její místo a Sabath jede někam zavolat policii.

Když dorazí, mám pocit, jako bych si už nějakou dobu pohrával s ohněm. Jako bych tušil zlo, ale neviděl ho. Markéta se trošku uklidní, dám jí svoje triko a Sabath nás po výslechu doveze domů. Ukáže se, že nebyla první. Náš milý Satanista byl jedním z pomýlených, z magorů, které nechcete potkat. Vzal všechno za špatný konec. Taky mu dělalo dobře, když někdo trpěl. Proto se taky kdysi s Markétou rozešli. Místo milování ji chtěl mlátit. Kolem domu se našlo několik utýraných zvířat. Noviny se mohly zbláznit. Reportéři vycítili krev. Opravdovou. Titulky hlásily něco o satanských rituálech u nás, o black metalu a my museli snad tisíckrát vysvětlovat, že jsme se k tomu magorovi přichomejtli náhodou. Měli jsme na sobě najedou cejch, lidi na nás koukali jako na prašivý. Přitom Markéta byla oběť, chudák holka, která mu chtěla pomoc. 

Nevím, co by se tenkrát stalo, kdybychom nepřišli. Možná nic, možná taky ano. Satanistu na nějaký čas zavřeli. Naučil se tam ještě větším hnusárnám. A klid našel asi až ve chvíli, když si podřezal žíly. Ale o tom vím jen z doslechu. Byl jedním z těch, které pohltilo zlo, vlastní démoni. Bohužel, tenhle příběh měl za následek, že náš vztah s Markétou se začal pomalu ochlazovat. Spolu s tím, že jsem nakonec do té Plzně odjel, se rozpadlo zase něco moc krásného. Na tuhle holku vzpomínám moc rád. Jenže ona teď pořád seděla, koukala se do zdi, byla smutná. Nejvíc to bylo cítit v posteli. Už nebyla tak divoká. A to jsem se tak snažil. Pořád musela myslet na svýho bývalýho. Občas jsem si říkal, jestli není uhranutá, prokletá. Všimli si toho i ostatní. 

Jsem od té doby k black metalu takový odtažitý. Mám jej v podstatě rád jako hudbu, ale nelíbí se mi všechen ten hnusnej tupej balast, kterej je okolo. Já jsem spíš na to pivko, prohodit pár vtípků, zachlastat, zapařit, vohulit nějakej death a nebo thrash metal. Ale je fakt, že divných lidí jsem v metalu taky potkal dost. Jako všude. Občas mi přijde, že extrémní muzika přitahuje extrémní názory. Musíme s Markétou na vzduch. Už se netřese. Ne, do hospody dnes nepůjdeme. Všechno je moc čerstvé. Vezmeme to směr na sídliště a když jdeme za bývalým Májem kolem hřbitova, doslova nás do očí uhodí nápis: "Satan je náš pán, vezme si i tebe!" Začneme utíkat a zastavíme se až na Radouči. Podívá se na mě a smutně mi řekne díky. Přivinu ji k sobě. Mám tě rád, řeknu, ale ona mi neodpoví a nepotvrdí. Poprvé v životě.

Někdy si říkám, že mi je v podsvětí lépe, než v normálním světě. Ten je poslední roky příliš složitý, nesrozumitelný, zákeřný a zlý. Žiju sice hezký spokojený život, ale zároveň mám někdy pocit, že se brzy něco stane. Možná se probudí nemrtví a přijdou se pomstít za všechny hříchy, které na nich byly spáchány. Někdy to tak vypadá. Život v temnotě má ale i své nesporné výhody. V undergroundu naleznete pořád kapely, které stojí za pozornost.

Dnes bych vám rád představil death metalovou skupinu IMPUR z Mallorcy. Ta hraje přesně podle mých představ. Syrově, hezky od podlahy. Jako bych v prstech proséval prach našich předků z devadesátých let. Tenkrát tento styl dostal svoji jasnou podobu. IMPUR jsou zručnými pokračovateli. 


IMPUR ctí bezezbytku staré death metalové pořádky. Hrají velmi uvěřitelně, syrově, mají dobrý zvuk, parádní obal, spoustu nápadů ve skladbách. Tři songy jsou sice jen takovou ochutnávkou, ale i tak si je pamatuji a rád se k nim vracím. Není divu, když si totiž tuhle smečku prověříte pečlivěji, zjistíte, že je složena ze zkušených muzikantů. "Slaves of Decay" je poctou třeba takovým MORGOTH, BOLT THROWER, MASSACRE, PESTILENCE, v surovějších polohách potom CANNIBAL CORPSE, BROKEN HOPE. Netřeba vést dlouhé diskuze, tentokrát stačí opravdu pořádně ohulit zvuk, sednout si a poslouchat. Chladné, pomalejší chvilky se prolínají s nářezem. Přesně tak, jak to mám rád. EP má temnou atmosféru, je složeno s nadšením, věřím kapele každou notu. A o to jde u podobných smeček stejně nejvíce. Nikam sice styl neposouvají, ale to dnes vlastně nikdo. O to zde ani nejde. Znáte to, utíkám do podzemí, zavírám za sebou velké rezavé dveře. Tady, mezi nemrtvými je mi nejlépe. Oni chápou, jak se má hrát death metal. Možná nás nakonec moc nezbyde, ale my jsme ve své víře ve Smrt věrní. Old school death metal zahraný s temnou jiskrou! Vítejte v záhrobí!

V hudbě, jako v čemkoliv jiném, věřím hlavně sobě a svým instinktům. Pohybují se v podzemí dlouhá léta a u kapel oceňuji hlavně opravdovost. IMPUR jsou přesně ti poslové death metalového zla ze starých časů, které budu vždy uctívat. Novinka "Slaves of Decay" je jasnou a hlasitou odpovědí na klasickou smrt. Prašivina, hniloba, staré popraskané rakve. Všechno tohle na novém albu najdete. Vítejte v záhrobí!

Nasávám chorobou nasáklou atmosféru, přehrabuji se ve starých kostech. Plesnivý zvuk, vokál z onoho světa, všude přítomná smrt a temnota. To jsou všechno podivné věci, které dělají z dobrých desek ty vynikající. S "Slaves of Decay" jsem trávil rád a s chutí dlouhé hodiny ve svém hrobě. Desku jsem proséval mezi prsty, rval jsem si ji do hlavy a pouštěl žilou. Stala se mojí součástí, protože je na ní muzika, kterou mám asi nejraději. Syrová, ryzí, reálná, smrtící. IMPUR nahráli EP plné záhrobních melodií, odkapává z ní špína, nenávist, zlo a hniloba. Propadli jsme kdysi peklu a podobné desky jsou pro nás doslova povinnost. Vynikající death metalová odpověď na ozvěny z onoho světa! Katakomby vydaly další svědectví! Smrt!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Hi Jakub, we are Impur Death Metal from the island of Mallorca, Spain. The line-up is Alex Correa and Risto Orihuela on guitars, Miguel Ramis on bass, Pep Comas on drums and I Edgar Bravo on vocals. Impur is formed in mid-2019, although most of us have been in extreme metal bands on the island. Let's say our style is heading towards classic death metal, but it also has a personal touch of the influences of each member of the band

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The production of 'Slaves Of Decay' is made by Impur and by Miguel A, Riutort A.K.A. Mega at the Psycosomatic studio in Mallorca at the end of 2021. Mega is a professional musician who has worked as a tour sound engineer with bands like Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy, Vltimas, Samael, Abbath and many more. He was in charge of the recording, mixing and mastering and his work was very important for our debut EP to have that power in production, we are lucky that he is from Mallorca too and with the pandemic he had time to record us.


How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

'Slaves of Decay' went on sale on April 17 on CD with 200 limited copies and also came out on all digital platforms (Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, Bandcamp ...).

Soon it will also be released in a split under the Russian label Wroth Emitter.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

I was in charge of the lyrics of the EP 'Slaves Of Decay', all of them were written in 2019 except for some adjustments that were made at the last minute in the studio with Mega but in general the concept was created before the pandemic. Perhaps when reading them I can give a current vision of the world, I think that Death Metal has always had a pessimistic vision of humanity especially because of the elites that dominate the world, so songs like "Slaves Of Decay" and "Destruction Is Reborn "are focused on that premise. For the theme of 'Infinite Curse' it is about the condemnation that continues from generation to generation when parents inherit their existential frustrations to their descendants, it is a lyric about internal struggles or even about human degradation.


Who created the logo and artwork of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The Impur logo is the work of the Spanish designer César Valladares who has worked with bands such as Asphyx, Krisiun, Graveyard (Spain) ...

The cover was made by Venezuelan artist John Quevedo Janssens who has worked with bands like Stygian Dark, Voracious Scourge, Nocturnal Hollow ...

We think that social networks are important for bands, I think the greatest benefit as a musician is that they listen to you anywhere in the world and that is currently very easy with social networks, we are receiving positive comments from Asia, Russia, whether buying cds or by Bandcamp. Thanks to social networks we will carry out the split that I mentioned before in Russia, these things without internet maybe they would not happen and if they happened it would not be so fast.


Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

The label is BH Records, it is a label created by us from our previous band called Cerosity and it seemed like a good idea for our debut due to the copyright issue and in order not to waste so much time looking for labels we decided to release it on our own and for now we are getting a good response, even better than we expected.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

In general in Impur we have similarities in classic death metal bands like Death, Benediction, Unleashed among many other legends.

Personally, as a vocalist, I was inspired by the sound of the German band Mangled Torsos and their album "Drawings Of The Dead" that I remember having on CD when I was 11 years old and I tried to emulate the voice playing with 2 radios. . recorders, in one music and in another I recorded the music with my voice, then I practiced the guttural voice haha Another band that inspired me to sing in those years was the Colombian band Masacre, they have a Latin American death metal style, more primitive and brutal than what you used to hear, powerful voice and lyrical theme of a real problem, without fiction and all sung in Spanish.

Currently we have musical inspiration in different genres of rock, heavy and extreme metal but when it comes to creating music we feel more used to old school death metal.


Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

At the moment, as I was saying, we wanted to go fast with the debut of the band and we have not touched the doors of the labels, but then when we record our first album if we would like to send the material to some labels.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

As Impur we have not played live because with the pandemic it is impossible for now but being 4 former members of Cerosity let's say that we have already played together live. We hope as soon as possible to present our EP live either at open air festivals or in concert halls.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?
For now, continue to have the dynamics that we have with this EP, working on the songs in the rehearsal room and polishing them in the recording studio. At the moment we have a lot of material but we have to return to normality regarding the restrictions since there are still them, at least on the island where we live. Eventually, we hope it's this year, they record the first album or a longer EP.

Psát o podobných legendách je v dnešní době poměrně těžké. Jednak má už každý po stažených mp3 nebo shlédnutí youtube svůj jasný názor a potom...když se vám deska nelíbí, tak se setkáte s velkým odporem příznivců kapely, kterým je vlastně úplně jedno, co jejich oblíbenci vydali. Říká se tomu fanouškovství až za hrob. Hele, já třeba z posledního koncertu CANNIBAL CORPSE odešel po polovině. Přišli mi unavení, otrávení. Semletí. 

Jasný, extrémní styly se nedají hrát ve "vysokém" věku už s takovou intenzitou, ale stejně. Nudil jsem se. Já řezníky z Bufalla měl vždycky rád. Hlavně tedy v jejich počátcích. Kdysi samozřejmě šokovali svojí brutalitou, nechutnými texty, obaly, které jim pořád někdo zakazoval. Poslední roky šli ale tak nějak mimo mě. I když pánové nikdy pomyslnou laťku kvality nepodlezli, už to není jako dřív. To ale není případ novinky "Violence Unimagined". Letos mi připadají jako politi mrtvou vodou. Kope to pěkně!


Možná za to může Eric Rutan, který je podepsán nejen pod mixem a produkcí, ale účastnil se i samotného psaní skladeb. Řekněme si to na rovinu, CANNIBAL CORPSE už byli poslední roky spíše kolovrátkem, u kterého jste přesně věděli, co přijde za chvilku a jak bude každé nové album znít (a vlastně to vůbec nevadilo, protože to všichni předpokládali a chtěli). Tomu se nevyhne žádná takhle dlouho hrající kapela. Letos mě ale novinka baví. Dokonce bych to napsal tak, že si ji s chutí zakoupím. Má v sobě drive a sílu, odkazuje na staré dobré časy a zároveň je "moderní". Hutný, masivní zvuk, neopakovatelná krvavá barva hlasu Corpsegrindera, ale hlavně spousta zajímavých momentů. Z typického houpavého rytmu se vynoří jako utopenec nad hladinu v každé skladbě nějaká "chytlavá" pasáž. Na "Violence Unimagined" totiž naleznete přesně ten druh ingrediencí, které jsme měli a máme na téhle legendě tolik rádi. Brutalitu, spoustu syrového masa, nože a sekáčky od krve, tlak a sílu. Tak tedy, můj milý čtenáři, pohodlně se usaď, pusť si nějaký horor a pak novou desku. Pokud jsi fanoušek kapely, tak budeš spokojen určitě a pokud si už z jejich diskografie jenom vybíráš ty nejnechutnější kousky, tak myslím také. CANNIBAL CORPSE se povedl další masakr motorovou pilou!

I dare to say that the new album of American death metallers CANNIBAL CORPSE is such a cruel machine for killing. Riffs are so sharp, the voice devastating, brutal inhumanity. Massacred tracks clearly note that the album was recorded by experienced butchers. Eric Rutan is famously involved. Great massive killer sound.


Brutality meets darkness and cold. The songs are sophisticated, totally devastating. I feel condemned to execution.
