Slyším nářek nevinných. Bolí mě každý výkřik, každý pláč a utrpení. Možná jsem na podobné věci vnímavější, ale prostým faktem je, že v dnešní době se smutku nevyhnete. Vylézá z pokojů mučených, z kobek, z válek, ze znásilnění těl i myslí. Zlo tady bude s námi vždycky a historie nás učí, že nejde zničit. Jen se pokaždé stáhne do stínu, aby čekalo na příležitost, až bude moci znovu zaútočit. Někdy se otiskne do starých zdí, do ruin kostelů, do domů, ve kterých se umíralo. Vždycky jsem měl rád hudbu, která ve mě dokáže vyvolat nějaké emoce. S kanadskými TRIBUNAL se setkávám poprvé. Stačilo mi ale několik prvních tónů, abych věděl, že jsme na stejné vlně.
Novinka je druhým počinem kapely a také otiskem včerejších dní. Návštěvou hřbitova, vzpomínkou na déšť, který padal z černého nebe, když si pohřbíval někoho, na kom ti moc záleželo. Je to naléhavé album, je to něco víc, co je jen mezi mnou a kapelou a co se velmi špatně definuje a popisuje. Nechme raději mluvit hudbu.
Muzika kanadských tmářů nechává vzpomenout na staré klasické doom gothic metalové kapely (MY DYING BRIDE, PARADISE LOST, ANATHEMA, KATATONIA, DRACONIAN, SATURNUS, samozřejmě). Cítili jste někdy takovou tu zvláštní bolest, kterou nešlo utišit ani prášky, ani alkoholem? Zadřela se vám hluboko pod kůži, do podvědomí. Najednou jste nechápali, jak se někdo může smát. Padaly na vás mraky a těžký, drásavý splín. Chtěli jste jenom zalézt do svého pokoje, jako raněné zvíře a poslouchat hudbu, která dává smysl. Pro tyto osobní chvíle je určeno i nové album "In Penitence and Ruin". Je to nahrávka se spoustu zajímavých, smutných melodií. S pasážemi, u kterých mrazí, s motivy, které vás nikdy nenechají v klidu. Líbí se mi zvuk, obdivuji kombinaci syrovosti a chladných melodií. Většinou moc ženské hlasy nemusím, ale zde jsem nadmíru spokojen. Vše je průzračné i špinavé zároveň depresivní, přesto s nadějí, ostré i hedvábné. Jako bych vstal uprostřed noci, pronásledován vlastním svědomím i nočními můrami a vydal se do dávno opuštěného kostela. Setkal se s přízraky, rozmlouval s démony, vyslechl veškerou bolest, kterou jim zlí lidé během jejich života způsobily. Nakonec zůstaneme na všechno sami, setkáme se s vlastní smrtí a pohlédneme do tváře osudu. Právě pro takové chvíle je nové album určeno. Dostalo se mi do podvědomí a poslouchal jsem jej nejčastěji, když jsem si četl. Pokud máte tenhle styl rádi jako já, určitě se na tuhle kapelu podívejte pečlivěji. Nechte ji, aby vás přesvědčila. I hear the cries of the innocent. I am pained by every cry, every lament and suffering. Perhaps I am more sensitive to such things, but the simple fact is that you can't avoid sadness these days. It comes out of the rooms of the tortured, out of dungeons, out of wars, out of the rape of bodies and minds. Evil will always be with us, and history teaches us that it cannot be destroyed. It just retreats into the shadows each time, waiting for an opportunity to strike again. Sometimes it imprints itself on old walls, on the ruins of churches, on houses where people died. I've always liked music that can stir some emotion in me. This is my first encounter with Canadian TRIBUNAL. But it only took me the first few notes to know we were on the same page.
The new album is the band's second release and also a reprint of yesterday. A visit to the cemetery, a memory of the rain that fell from the black sky when you buried someone you cared about. It's an urgent album, it's something more that's just between me and the band and very hard to define and describe. Let the music do the talking.
The music of the Canadian darkies makes you think of the old classic doom gothic metal bands (MY DYING BRIDE, PARADISE LOST, ANATHEMA, KATATONIA, DRACONIAN, SATURNUS, of course). Have you ever felt this strange pain that couldn't be soothed by pills or alcohol? It burrowed deep under your skin, into your subconscious. Suddenly you didn't understand how anyone could laugh. Clouds fell over you, and a heavy, crushing fullness. You just wanted to crawl into your room, like a wounded animal, and listen to music that made sense. The new album "In Penitence and Ruin" is meant for these personal moments. It's a record with a lot of interesting, sad melodies. With passages that give you chills, with themes that will never leave you in peace. I like the sound, I admire the combination of rawness and cold melodies. I'm not usually a fan of female voices, but here I'm extremely satisfied. Everything is transparent and dirty at the same time depressing yet hopeful, sharp and silky. It's as if I got up in the middle of the night, haunted by my own conscience and nightmares, and made my way to a long-abandoned church. Encountered ghosts, talked to demons, listened to all the pain that evil men had caused them during their lives. In the end, we are left to face everything alone, to meet our own death and look into the face of fate. It is for such moments that the new album is intended. It got into my subconscious and I listened to it most often when I read. If you like this style as much as I do, definitely check this band out more carefully. Let it convince you. I hear the cries of the innocent. Every cry, every cry and suffering hurts me. Maybe I'm more sensitive to things like this, but the simple fact is that you can't avoid sadness these days. It comes out of the rooms of the tortured, out of dungeons, out of wars, out of the rape of bodies and minds. Urgent, compelling and cold gothic doom metal that will embrace you in the fog of oblivion! An excellent gloomy experience!
