Zase jsem se jednou potácel mezi stíny. Ve starých, zahnívajících a smradlavých močálech. Pronásledovaly mě noční můry a znovu se objevila pradávná rána. Teplo v ní, zkažená krev hnisala, pálila, žhnula. Vzal jsem do rukou rezavý nůž a vřed jsem prořízl. Černý, zkažený hnis mi potřísnil celé tělo. Padl jsem tváří do bažiny a propadal se stále hlouběji. Byl jsem chycený, prokletý a začal jsem se pomalu rozkládat. Přesně takové pocity mám i z nového alba brazilských tmářů FOSSILIZATION.
Tahle smečka vždy uměla navodit atmosféru absolutního zmaru. U nové nahrávky to platí snad ještě více, než u těch předchozích. Jestli byli na minulých deskách Brazilci nechutní, zvrácení a dokázali nás chytit do pevných pavučin, tak letos to platí ještě více. Vítejte v nekonečných bažinách beznaděje!
Přiznám se, že jsem se na novinku opravdu velmi těšil. Když jsem pak poprvé zapnul doma play na svém přehrávači, veškerá moje očekávání se splnila na sto procent. Skladby v sobě mají potřebný drive, sílu, takový ten zahnívající efekt, na který má tahle kapela snad patent. Velmi se povedl zvuk (Gabriele Gramaglia - mixing, mastering), který je náležitě prašivý a zároveň dobře čitelný, živočišný. Jakoby byly jednotlivé motivy ušpiněné černou krví. Starodávný death metal se zde potkává se záhadným a mrtvolným doom metalem. Výsledný, velmi zkušeně a elegantně namíchaný koktejl, je potom nejen nechutný, ale také řeže tou správnou stranou nože. FOSSILIZATION na to jdou po svém, mají vlastní rukopis a spoustu morbidních nápadů. Zmínit musím i velmi povedený obal (autorem je Guang Yang), který dá všem ihned na vědomí, co se na albu odehrává. Absolutní zvrácená hniloba a bolestivé umírání. Pokud jste fanoušci kapel typu DEAD CONGREGATION, FUNEBRARUM, KRYPTS, ALTARAGE, PHRENELITH, ENFULGED, CRUCIAMENTUM, DISMA, INCANTATION, IGNIMOVOUS, je pro vás nové album doslova povinností. "Advent of Wounds" v sobě obsahuje všechny potřebné ingredience pro zvrácené záhrobní rituály. Muselo vznikat hluboko v podzemí, ve starých kryptách a katakombách. Při poslechu můžete rozmlouvat s nemrtvými, rouhat se. Jen si dejte pozor, aby se vám neobjevila znovu stigmata a nezačaly vás pálit staré rány. Once again, I was stumbling among the shadows. In old, rotting, and stinking swamps. Nightmares haunted me, and the ancient wound reappeared. The heat inside it, the rotten blood festered, burned, and glowed. I took a rusty knife in my hands and cut open the wound. Black, rotten pus splattered all over my body. I fell face down into the swamp and sank deeper and deeper. I was trapped, cursed, and slowly began to decay. That's exactly how I feel about the new album by Brazilian dark metal band FOSSILIZATION.
This band has always been able to evoke an atmosphere of absolute doom. This is perhaps even more true of their new recording than of their previous ones. If the Brazilians were disgusting and perverse on their previous albums and managed to trap us in their tight cobwebs, this year it is even more so. Welcome to the endless swamps of despair!
I admit that I was really looking forward to this new release. When I first played it on my player at home, all my expectations were met one hundred percent. The songs have the necessary drive, power, and that decaying effect that this band seems to have patented. The sound (Gabriele Gramaglia - mixing, mastering) is very well done, appropriately dirty and at the same time clear and animalistic. It's as if the individual motifs were stained with black blood. Ancient death metal meets mysterious and corpse-like doom metal here. The resulting cocktail, mixed with great skill and elegance, is not only disgusting, but also cuts with the right side of the knife. FOSSILIZATION do things their own way, they have their own style and lots of morbid ideas. I must also mention the very well-done cover (by Guang Yang), which immediately lets everyone know what's going on on the album. Absolute twisted decay and painful death. If you are a fan of bands such as DEAD CONGREGATION, FUNEBRARUM, KRYPTS, ALTARAGE, PHRENELITH, ENFULGED, CRUCIAMENTUM, DISMA, INCANTATION, IGNIMOVOUS, then this new album is literally a must for you. "Advent of Wounds" contains all the necessary ingredients for twisted afterlife rituals. It must have been created deep underground, in old crypts and catacombs. While listening, you can talk to the undead, blaspheme. Just be careful that your stigmata don't reappear and your old wounds don't start to burn. Everything here is shrouded in mystery, in a bloody fog, smelling like rotting flesh. This pack is real, believable, pure, raw, and authentic. Once again, I stumbled among the shadows.
