Probudil jsem se unavený. V noci jsem zase bojoval se svými nočními můrami. Ve snech mě navštěvovali zlí lidé s rozšklebenými tvářemi a s ostrými noži v rukou. Vylezl jsem před dům a celý svět hořel. Na hromadách ležely v ulicích zohavené mrtvoly. Nejdřív jsem si myslel, že můj děsivý sen pokračuje, ale jen do té doby, než dopadla kousek ode mě další bomba. Apokalypsa, kterou jsem podvědomě předpovídal již několik let, právě začala. Člověk se stal člověku vlkem a přežili jen ti nejsilnější.

Z nového EP polských maniaků MORRATH opravdu cítím temnotu apokalyptických vizí. Jako bych během poslechu kráčel po umírající planetě, kterou zasáhla dystopie. Krutá, hnusná, ošklivá, jako dokáže být jenom lidský rod. Pánové jsou zpět a jsou temnější, krutější a naléhavější než kdy dřív. Psal jsem již o předchozím dlouhohrajícím albu "Centuries of Blindness" (odkaz na recenzi najdete dole pod dnešním článkem) a musím rovnou dodat, že Poláci letos přicházejí z hudbou, která ve vás zanechá hlubokou krvavou stopu.

"Obscure Abominations" na mě působí jako velmi propracované, skvěle napsané a složené album. Skladby v sobě mají potřebný drive, takovou tu pradávnou temnou sílu a nakumulovaný vztek. Obsahují v sobě všechny potřebné death metalové ingredience, aby byl výsledný koktejl velmi jedovatý, ostrý a zároveň se dobře poslouchal. Na EP spolupracovalo několik hostů a všichni odvedli skvělou práci. Novinka se mi ihned zadřela pod kůži i do podvědomí a při každém dalším společném morbidním setkání jsem si pro sebe objevoval nové zajímavé momenty, pasáže. Mrazilo mě v kostech a měl jsem pokaždé sto chutí vzít do rukou kladivo a zbourat nejbližší zeď. Některé momenty se na mě valí jako lavina z kostí, krve a kamení, jiné ve mě zanechávají masivní a divoký dojem. Za velmi povedený považuji zvuk, který je surový, ostrý a zároveň velmi dobře čitelný (Michał Grabowski). Netřeba diskutovat ani o obalu, po pod kterým je podepsán mistr Mieszko Jankowski. Morbidní motiv krásně doplňuje, vystihuje a znázorňuje hudbu samotnou. Na MORRATH se mi vždycky nejvíc líbilo, jak pracují s náladami, že jsou opravdoví, ryzí, nespoutaní a autentičtí. Letos to svým novým EP opět potvrzují a už teď moc dobře vím, že se k novince budu rád a často vracet. Už jsem si ji zařadil do své soukromé diskografie. Pokud máte rádi kapely typu PESTILENCE, DEICIDE, SUFFOCATION, MORBID ANGEL, OBSCENITY, MONSTROSITY a další smečky, které umí říznout do živého, tak neváhejte ani chvilku, hraje se zde i pro vás. Poláci samozřejmě přidávají velkou porci svých nápadů a invence. Když se večer dívám na zprávy nebo čtu děsivé vize na internetu, tak mám mnohdy pocit, že svět kolem nás již dávno hoří. Než ale bude spálen úplně, budu poslouchat nahrávky, jako je tato. To vám klidně podepíšu vlastní krví. Temné, kruté, dystopické death metalové vize! Svět při poslechu hoří v plamenech!

I woke up tired. I had been fighting my nightmares again during the night. In my dreams, evil people with grinning faces and sharp knives in their hands visited me. I climbed out of the house and the whole world was on fire. Mutilated corpses lay in piles in the streets. At first, I thought my terrifying dream was continuing, but only until another bomb landed a short distance away from me. The apocalypse, which I had been subconsciously predicting for several years, had just begun. Man had become a wolf to man, and only the strongest survived.

I can really feel the darkness of apocalyptic visions in the new EP by Polish maniacs MORRATH. It's as if, while listening, I am walking on a dying planet struck by dystopia. Cruel, nasty, ugly, as only the human race can be. The gentlemen are back, and they are darker, crueler, and more urgent than ever before. I have already written about their previous full-length album, Centuries of Blindness (you can find a link to the review below today's article), and I must add that this year, the Poles are coming with music that will leave a deep, bloody mark on you.

"Obscure Abominations" strikes me as a very sophisticated, well-written and composed album. The songs have the necessary drive, that ancient dark power and accumulated anger. They contain all the necessary death metal ingredients to make the resulting cocktail very poisonous, sharp and at the same time easy to listen to. Several guests collaborated on the EP, and they all did a great job. The new release immediately got under my skin and into my subconscious, and with each subsequent morbid encounter, I discovered new interesting moments and passages for myself. It sent chills down my spine, and each time I felt like picking up a hammer and tearing down the nearest wall. Some moments come at me like an avalanche of bones, blood, and stones, while others leave a massive and wild impression on me. I consider the sound to be very well done, raw, sharp, and at the same time very clear (Michał Grabowski). There is no need to discuss the cover, which was designed by the master Mieszko Jankowski. The morbid motif beautifully complements, captures, and illustrates the music itself. What I have always liked most about MORRATH is how they work with moods, how they are genuine, pure, unrestrained, and authentic. This year, they confirm this once again with their new EP, and I already know that I will enjoy returning to this new release often. I've already added it to my private discography. If you like bands such as PESTILENCE, DEICIDE, SUFFOCATION, MORBID ANGEL, OBSCENITY, MONSTROSITY, and other groups that know how to cut to the quick, don't hesitate for a moment—this is for you too. Of course, the Poles add a large dose of their own ideas and inventiveness. When I watch the news in the evening or read terrifying visions on the internet, I often feel that the world around us has been burning for a long time. But before it burns completely, I will listen to recordings like this one. I will gladly sign that with my own blood. Dark, cruel, dystopian death metal visions! The world burns in flames while listening!
