Staré pohřebiště, ukryté dlouhé roky před světem. Hluboko v podzemí, v těch nejtemnějších katakombách. Musíte sestoupit několik pater dolů, do chrámu bolesti a utrpení. Po stěnách stéká zkažená krev, smrt stojí ve stínu a usmívá se. Cítíte, vnímáte celým svým tělem nekonečných chlad. Jednotlivé riffy se vám zadírají do kostí, pod kůži, do podvědomí. Poslouchám letošní třetí dlouhohrající album italských tmářů CHRONIC HATE a připadám si, jako bych se toulal podsvětím.

Tahle smečka vám letos přináší album, které má v sobě pradávný, zvířecí tlak, nakumulovanou energii, posbíranou v tom nejhlubším podsvětí. Kapela hraje opravdově, ryze, upřímně, věřím jí každou melodii, riff, úder bicích i výkřik do tmy. Působí na mě naprosto autenticky. Novinka vás smete z povrchu zemského, strhne do hlubiny, rozseká na kusy, pověsí na háky v těch nejšpinavějším a nejprokletějších kobkách Hádovy říše. Tahle nahrávka řeže tou správnou stranou nože.

A mě tak nezbývá, než si užívat mrtvolně morbidní atmostéru, propracované a velmi dobře napsané motivy. Death metal byl vždy o zahnívajících náladách, o hromadách zohavených mrtvol, o morbidních galeriích, o strachu, napětí, temné energii. CHRONIC HATE jsou pro mě dokonalou definicí tohoto stylu, který mi koluje v krvi již více než 35 let. Nevydržím při poslechu v klidu, musím si podupávat nohou do rytmu, mlátit hlavou do stěny, drásat si obličej do krve. Líbí se mi jednotlivé motivy, ale pokaždé musím album poslouchat hlavně jako celek. Teprve potom vyniknou jednotlivé pasáže, gradace, dramaturgie, napětí. Jsem starý pes, který hlídá vstup do podsvětí již několik dekád a jako takový vám mohu nové album "Defeating the Oblivion of Life" na sto procent doporučit. Má v sobě všechno, co potřebuji pro magické záhrobní rituály. Tlak, spoustu dobrých nápadů, pradávnou surovost, perfektně ošetřený zvuk i zajímavý a stylový motiv na obalu. Navíc, a to je pro mě velmi důležité, mě baví novinku poslouchat a rád se k ní vracím. Nejvíce ve chvílích, když se setmí, mraky jsou nízko a očekávám bouřku. Také cítíte to chvění? Potom prořízne těžký vzduch první ostrý riff, melodie. Jsem ztracen, proklet, pohřben zaživa. Pokud bych měl k někomu tuhle kapelu přirovnat, volil bych jména jako ABORTED, DECAPITATED, MORBID ANGEL. To ale není zase tak důležité, kapela má svůj vlastní rukopis, výraz, chcete-li, ale pravdou je, že mají podobnou DNA, jako zmiňované smečky. Staré pohřebiště, ukryté dlouhé roky před světem. Cítíte, vnímáte celým svým tělem nekonečných chlad. Teď už to vím na sto procent, tohle album stojí rozhodně za to, má v sobě vše, co požaduji a chci! Morbidní, surový, nahrubo nasekaný death metal, plný temnoty, chladu, tlaku, energie a nekonečné bolesti! Tohle album vás spálí na popel! Masakr v záhrobí!

This recording cuts with the right side of the knife.

And so I have no choice but to enjoy the deathly morbid atmosphere and the intricate, very well-written themes. Death metal has always been about rotting moods, piles of mutilated corpses, morbid galleries, fear, tension, and dark energy. For me, CHRONIC HATE is the perfect definition of this style, which has been coursing through my veins for over 35 years. I can’t sit still while listening; I have to tap my foot to the beat, bang my head against the wall, and scratch my face until it bleeds. I like the individual motifs, but I always have to listen to the album primarily as a whole. Only then do the individual passages, the build-ups, the dramatic structure, and the tension really stand out. I’m an old dog who’s been guarding the entrance to the underworld for several decades, and as such, I can wholeheartedly recommend the new album “Defeating the Oblivion of Life”. It has everything I need for magical rituals of the afterlife: intensity, plenty of great ideas, ancient rawness, a perfectly polished sound, and an interesting, stylish cover design. Plus, and this is very important to me, I enjoy listening to the new album and love coming back to it. Most of all in those moments when it gets dark, the clouds are low, and I’m expecting a storm. Do you feel that tremor too? Then the first sharp riff, the melody, cuts through the heavy air. I am lost, cursed, buried alive. If I had to compare this band to anyone, I’d mention names like ABORTED, DECAPITATED, and MORBID ANGEL. But that’s not really important; the band has its own style, its own identity, if you will, but the truth is that they share similar DNA with the aforementioned bands. Now I know it for sure, this album is definitely worth it; it has everything I demand and want!
