Smrt stále nepřichází. Ležím tu opět ve staré plesnivé rakvi. V chladné márnici s dalšími nemrtvými. Šeptáme do ticha slova o nekonečné bolesti, utrpení, o smutku a nenaplněných přáních. Poslouchám nové album mých oblíbených doom metalistů MOTHER OF GRAVES a poklekám v podzimním dešti.

I letos čerpají volně inspiraci u kapel typu KATATONIA, MY DYING BRIDE, OCTOBER TIDE, SWALLOW THE SUN, OPETH, MARCHE FUNEBRE, OFFICIUM TRISTE. Dělají to s elegancí, s nadhledem, přidávají spoustu svých vlastních nápadů a invence. A stále u toho poslouchám nové album "The Light That Keeps Us". Tahle deska má v sobě patinu dávných časů a nejlépe vynikne v ruinách starých kostelů, na prokletých pohřebištích i v chrámech bolesti. Nemohu opět jinak, klaním se k zemi a nastavují tvář další skladbě. Smrt stále nepřichází. Ležím tu opět ve staré plesnivé rakvi. V chladné márnici s dalšími nemrtvými. Melodická doom death metalová panychida! Album, které vás obejme pevnými, chladnými, drásavými pavučinami nekonečného smutku!

Asphyx says:

Death still hasn’t come. Here I lie once again in this old, moldy coffin. In a cold morgue with the other undead. We whisper into the silence words of endless pain, suffering, sorrow, and unfulfilled wishes. Hope died long ago in the bloody fog that settled over the cemetery like a conscience. My soul, beside my mutilated body, wanders forever between this world and the next. I spend my time in the shadows, alone. I listen to the new album by my favorite doom metal band, MOTHER OF GRAVES, and kneel in the autumn rain.

I pray to a god who doesn’t exist; I dance with the demons on my own grave. I love music it’s a part of me and every time I encounter the work of these dark artists, I’m torn apart from within. These guys really know how to get to me. This year, too, all I had to do was hit “play” on my player for the first time and head to my favorite cemetery. I remember my friends who are no longer with us. The centuries-old trees are adorned with leaves in a vibrant palette of October colors. I feel a chill in my bones, swaying contentedly to the rhythm. Slowly, deliberately, like a procession accompanying the deceased as they’re being buried. This band’s new release is once again outstanding; I whisper along with the undead, and after a few gatherings together, I too scream into the darkness. Death still hasn’t come.

No, friends, this isn’t just another ordinary album to me. It’s a deeply personal matter music played from the heart, with a passion for the final moments of a person’s life in this world. MOTHER OF GRAVES will entangle you in cold webs of sorrow, get under your skin, and make you die and be reborn time and time again. These guys have a great feel for mournful melodies, for an atmosphere of total sadness and hopelessness, for darkness. They play with melodies like a predator with its prey. This year, too, they draw loose inspiration from bands like KATATONIA, MY DYING BRIDE, OCTOBER TIDE, SWALLOW THE SUN, OPETH, MARCHE FUNEBRE, and OFFICIUM TRISTE. They do so with elegance and a sense of perspective, adding plenty of their own ideas and creativity. On the surface, the songs are brooding and sad, but inside they pulse and burn; they contain that special restlessness that we old-school metalheads love so much. I sift the dust of my ancestors through my fingers, wander the streets, can’t sleep, and have terrifying nightmares. And all the while, I keep listening to the new album, "The Light That Keeps Us". It’s a record that has everything I love about music. It features a clear, urgent, and powerful sound, has interesting, stylish artwork, and inspires me to become a morbid poet at night. I love to return again and again to my favorite books and let myself be carried away by the waves of this recording. I gaze at the river flowing toward the other world. I pay the ferryman and step onto the other side. This album carries the patina of bygone days and shines brightest in the ruins of old churches, in cursed cemeteries, and in temples of pain. Once again, I can’t help but bow to the ground and turn my face toward the next track. Death still hasn’t come. Here I lie once more in an old, moldy coffin. In a cold morgue with other undead. A melodic doom death metal requiem! An album that will envelop you in the firm, cold, harrowing webs of endless sorrow!
