Klečíš na chladné zemi, s hlavou skloněnou. Chodíš sem už víceméně ze zvyku. Začínal si jako malý, s malými opatrnými prosbami k Bohu. Odpověď nikdy nepřišla. Mezitím začala kolem hořet celá země. Zabíjení, znásilňování, bolest a temnota. Zlo už dávno znáš, potkáváš ho každý den. Jsi tu sám, všichni už dávno odešli. Kostel je znesvěcený, vyhořelý, zničený a zbyly z něj jenom ruiny. Stejně jako z tvé prokleté duše. Na každou novou nahrávku holandských GRACELESS čekám velmi netrpělivě. Sleduji tuhle smečku od jejich počátků. Jsme stejné krve, máme podobnou hudbu už dávno zakódovanou v genech.

I letos vám Remco Kreft a jeho věrní přinášejí do krvavé mlhy zahalené melodie, spoustu chladných nálad, napětí, pochmurnou atmosféru. Kombinace starého poctivého a syrového death metalu s prchavým smutkem doom metalu vás opravdu přenese do starých chrámů, do kostelů ve kterých potkáte už jenom přízraky. Jsem chycený do pevných sítí a padám do hlubiny.

Z jednotlivých skladeb je cítit taková ta staroškolská poctivost, oddanost muzice jako takové. Kdo jste zažil devadesátá léta minulého století a death metalové podsvětí, tak určitě víte, o čem píšu. Tenhle pocit, výraz se dle mého nedá naučit. Musíte jej mít v sobě, musí být vaší součástí. Pro mě je, ostatně jako vždy, nejdůležitější, abych kapele jejich morbidní práci věřil. A GRACELESS se opět ukazují ve vynikající formě. Ne nadarmo všem tvrdím, že se jedná o jednu z mých nejoblíbenějších kapel současnosti. Jakoby byla nová nahrávka opředena pevnými pavučinami. Má v sobě drive, sílu, energii i tlak. Kapela si hraje s náladami jako šelma se svojí kořistí. Jednou jsou záhadní, tajemní a děsiví, potom na vás zaútočí způsobem, že vám popraskají všechny kosti v těle. Pokaždé, když navštívím nějaký opuštěný kostel, chrám a nebo starý hřbitov, tak mě obejme takový zvláštní pocit. Mezi chladnými zdmi, u náhrobků, na kterých jsou jména našich předků, v katakombách, ve kterých leží prokletí. Všude poslouchám nové album "Icons of Ruin" a neskutečně si jej užívám. Zkušenosti se zde potkávají s velkým talentem. Zároveň si kapela stále zachovává takovou tu živočišnost, nadšení, odhodlání. Hudba byla vždycky o emocích a GRACELESS patří bezesporu mezi mistry ve svém oboru. Zmínit musím i povedený zvuk a motiv na obalu, který chci rozhodně nosit na tričku. Fanoušci třeba takových BOLT THROWER, TEMPLE OF VOID, ASPHYX, HOODED MENACE, COFFINS, HAIL OF BULLET, THANATOS, BOLT THROWER, SINISTER, PESTILENCE, VALLENFYRE, STRIGOI mi určitě má slova potvrdí. This year, Remco Kreft and his bandmates bring you melodies shrouded in bloody fog, lots of cold moods, tension, and a gloomy atmosphere. The combination of old-school, honest, raw death metal with the fleeting sadness of doom metal will truly transport you to ancient temples, to churches where you will encounter only ghosts. I am caught in a tight net and falling into the depths.

The individual songs exude a kind of old-school honesty, a devotion to music as such. Anyone who experienced the 1990s and the death metal underground will know what I'm talking about. In my opinion, this feeling, this expression, cannot be learned. You have to have it inside you, it has to be a part of you. For me, as always, the most important thing is that I believe in the band's morbid work. And GRACELESS are once again in excellent form. It's not for nothing that I tell everyone that they are one of my favorite bands of the moment. It's as if the new recording is shrouded in solid cobwebs. It has drive, power, energy, and pressure. The band plays with moods like a beast with its prey. One moment they are mysterious, enigmatic, and terrifying, the next they attack you in a way that breaks every bone in your body. Every time I visit an abandoned church, temple, or old cemetery, I am overcome by a strange feeling. Between the cold walls, by the gravestones bearing the names of our ancestors, in the catacombs where the damned lie. I listen to the new album "Icons of Ruin" everywhere and enjoy it immensely. Experience meets great talent here. At the same time, the band still retains its animalistic energy, enthusiasm, and determination. Music has always been about emotions, and GRACELESS are undoubtedly masters of their craft. I must also mention the great sound and the cover art, which I definitely want to wear on a T-shirt. Fans of bands such as BOLT THROWER, TEMPLE OF VOID, ASPHYX, HOODED MENACE, COFFINS, HAIL OF BULLET, THANATOS, BOLT THROWER, SINISTER, PESTILENCE, VALLENFYRE, and STRIGOI will certainly agree with me.
