Jakoby mě někdo proklel. Uprostřed noci, v mrazu a zimě. Kolem se prohání vítr a chtěl jsem se chvilku vyspat. Démoni ani děsivé přízraky mi to ale nikdy nedovolili. Možná jsem byl v podivném rauši, možná jsem se ocitl v jiné dimenzi. Vlastně ani nevím, co mě nutilo jít dál. Do hor, ve kterých potkáte jenom strach, bolest a šílenství. H. P. Lovercraft napsal tuhle novelu již v roce 1931. Doporučuji vám, abyste si ji přečetli a teprve potom začali nové album švédských maniaků PUTERAEON poslouchat. Potom se vám všechno spojí v jeden silný celek, který se vám dostane do snů. Alespoň mě se to tak stalo.

Tahle smečka patří již dlouhé roky k mým oblíbeným. Znovu s nimi zažívám takové to napětí, jaké jsme mívali v dobách, kdy jsme si v devadesátých letech kopírovali kazety. Jaké album asi bude? Běhával jsem domů a sedával s kamarády u reproduktorů. S novinkou "Mountains of Madness" to mám velmi podobně. Má v sobě chlad, temnotu, sílu a energii. Řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Stala se ihned i mojí součástí. Oheň zase jednou hoří jasným černým plamenem. Uprostřed pustiny, v zimě, v ledových horách strachu.

Pokud znáte dílo H. P. Lovercrata trošku podrobněji, tak určitě víte, že má takovou zvláštní atmosféru. Po každém přečtení některé z jeho knih, novel, příběhů, vždycky jen tak sedím a dívám se do tmy. Jakoby se jeho slova dostala i do mé krve. S novým albem PUTERAEON to mám velmi podobně. Je naléhavé, opravdové, autentické, uvěřitelné. Pokaždé, když jsem jej poslouchal, tak se mi dostalo do krve, do podvědomí. Umíral jsem a znovu se rodil, toulal se mezi zasněženými vrcholky zasněžených kopců. Mrzly mi ruce, některé prsty mi museli amputovat, chlad se mi usadil v kostech. Dan Swanö se postaral o vynikající zvuk, na albu opravdu krásně vynikne každý motiv, každý detail. Za velmi povedený považuji i obal, který doplňuje hudbu takovým způsobem, že ve mě evokuje spoustu dalších myšlenek. Za mě osobně se jedná o precizně složené i nahrané dílo. Má myšlenky, má nápady, zároveň je živočišné, syrové. Nálada celé nahrávky je potom pochmurná, strašidelná, mystická. Mýty Cthulhu opět ožívají s nebývalou silou. Jako bych byl opravdu součástí příběhu. Švédi zase rozdrásali moji fantazii do krve. A udělali to pomocí klasického death metalu (DISMEMBER, NIHILIST, ENTRAILS, GRAVE, ENTOMBED), tentokrát s větším důrazem na melodie a jakousi vzdušnost a vznešenost. Když právě píšu tyhle slova, tak je kolem poměrně teplo a den se pomalu probouzí. Jenže já tu nejsem, jsem v horách. Jakoby mě někdo proklel. Uprostřed noci, v mrazu a zimě. Zmrznete v horách a zažijete nadpozemskou hrůzu!

This band has been one of my favorites for many years. With them, I experience the same excitement we used to feel in the 1990s when we copied cassettes. What kind of album will it be? I used to run home and sit with my friends by the speakers. I feel very similar about the new album "Mountains of Madness". It has a coldness, darkness, power, and energy to it. It cuts with the right side of the knife. It immediately became a part of me. Once again, the fire burns with a bright black flame. In the middle of the wilderness, in winter, in the icy mountains of fear.

If you are familiar with the work of H. P. Lovecraft, you surely know that it has a very special atmosphere. After reading any of his books, novellas, or stories, I always just sit and stare into the darkness. It's as if his words have entered my bloodstream. I feel very similarly about the new album by PUTERAEON. It is urgent, real, authentic, believable. Every time I listened to it, it got into my blood, into my subconscious. I died and was reborn, wandering among the snow-covered peaks of snow-covered hills. My hands were freezing, some of my fingers had to be amputated, the cold settled in my bones. Dan Swanö took care of the excellent sound, and every motif, every detail really stands out beautifully on the album. I also consider the cover to be very well done, complementing the music in such a way that it evokes many other thoughts in me. For me personally, it is a precisely composed and recorded work. It has thoughts, it has ideas, and at the same time it is animalistic, raw. The mood of the entire recording is gloomy, scary, mystical. The myths of Cthulhu come to life again with unprecedented force. It's as if I were really part of the story. The Swedes have once again torn my imagination to shreds. And they did it with classic death metal (DISMEMBER, NIHILIST, ENTRAILS, GRAVE, ENTOMBED), this time with more emphasis on melody and a kind of airiness and grandeur. As I write these words, it is relatively warm around me and the day is slowly awakening. But I'm not here, I'm in the mountains. It's as if someone cursed me. In the middle of the night, in the freezing cold. The wind is blowing around me and I wanted to get some sleep. But demons and terrifying apparitions never let me. Maybe I was in a strange trance, maybe I found myself in another dimension. I don't even know what compelled me to go on. Into the mountains, where you encounter only fear, pain, and madness. A icy, dark, terrifying death metal tribute to the Cthulhu Mythos! You will freeze in the mountains and experience otherworldly horror!
