Určitě znáte ten pocit, když se ráno probudíte a něco je špatně. Zdá se vám, že vaše tělo uvnitř hnije. Bolí vás hlava a klepou se ruce. Jste jako závislý, který nedostal svoji drogu. Jste rádi sami. Vyhledáváte temné kouty a všichni kolem vás vám připadají příliš veselí. Hudba je krásná v tom, že ji můžete aplikovat v různém stavu mysli. Existuje klidný a pomalý smrtící kov, existuje i rychlý, u kterého si vyčistíte hlavu. A pak je tu ten technický, komplikovaný a náročný, jako hrají američtí REPLICANT. 

S touto smečkou jste se mohli na našich stránkách již setkat. Máme dokonce i krátký rozhovor. Odkazy naleznete dole pod článkem. Osobně se mi vždy na kapele líbilo, že sice hrají složitě, ale jejich alba se velmi dobře poslouchají. Chce to jen náležitý stav mysli, potřebnou dávku fantazie a otevřenou mysl. Potom si jejich novinku "Infinite Mortality" určitě vychutnáte. 


Temnota se ukrývá v každém z nás. REPLICANT vzali veškeré zlé a ošklivé myšlenky a vytáhli je pomocí nové desky na povrch. U některých songů padám z vysoké skály po zádech do propasti, u jiných se bořím po pás v krvavých močálech. Za vše může i čitelný a masivní zvuk (AJ Viana at AJ Viana Productions) i obal (Alli Tuttle), který přesně vyjadřuje to, co se na albu odehrává. Disonantní smrtící kov, s příměsí techniky, špíny a hnisu. Ano, staré rány se otevírají, smrt je zase jednou hodně blízko a kývá spokojeně hlavou. Pánové dokáží napsat skladby, které na mě působí jako vážná muzika. Propracované motivy, které jednou žhnou a pálí, jindy drásají. Přenesených emocí je velké množství a mají různé odstíny tmavých barev. Pokud jste fanoušci třeba takových MORBID ANGEL, ULCERATE, GORGUTS, DEMILICH, BOLT THROWER, DEATHSPELL OMEGA, WORMED, budete určitě spokojeni. Na novince naleznete vše potřebné k tomu, abyste se naplno ponořili do černých myšlenek. Někdy si připadám v dnešním světě jako svázaný ve svěrací kazajce. Jsem normální já nebo ti, kdo žijí za zdí? Otázek je až příliš mnoho. Mám rád, když je ve mě kapela dokáže probudit, donutí mě přemýšlet, vracet se a stále objevovat další a další pasáže. "Infinite Mortality" je nahrávkou, která je neklidným negativním opusem z druhé strany, z onoho světa. Pánové se stále snaží posouvat hranice, překračovat je. Myslím si, že se jim to daří na výbornou. Letos dostanete syrový koktejl, umíchaný z těch nejlepších ingrediencí. Stačí jen ochutnat. Jen si dejte pozor, abyste potom nezemřeli v šílených křečích. Technický, disonantní death metal, který vás stáhne do temných močálů lidských myšlenek! Vynikající záležitost pro všechny vaše démony!

I'm sure you know the feeling when you wake up in the morning and something is wrong. You feel like your body is rotting inside. Your head hurts and your hands are shaking. You're like an addict who hasn't got his drug. You like to be alone. You seek out dark corners and everyone around you seems too cheerful. The beauty of music is that you can apply it in different states of mind. There's calm and slow death metal, there's fast metal where you clear your head. And then there's the technical, complicated and challenging one, like American REPLICANT play. 

You may have already encountered this pack on our pages. We even have a short interview. The links can be found at the bottom of the article. Personally, what I've always liked about the band is that although they play complex music, their albums are very easy to listen to. It just takes the proper state of mind, the necessary amount of imagination and an open mind. Then you will definitely enjoy their new album "Infinite Mortality".


The darkness hides within each of us. REPLICANT have taken all the bad and ugly thoughts and brought them to the surface with a new record. Some songs have me falling off a high cliff on my back into the abyss, others have me wading waist deep in bloody swamps. It's all thanks to the clear and massive sound (AJ Viana at AJ Viana Productions) and the cover art (Alli Tuttle), which accurately conveys what's going on in the album. Dissonant death metal, with an admixture of techno, dirt and pus. Yes, old wounds are opening, death is once again very close and nodding its head in satisfaction. The gentlemen can write songs that strike me as serious music. Elaborate motifs that at times burn and scorch, at others they tear. The emotions conveyed are many and come in different shades of dark colours. If you are a fan of such bands as MORBID ANGEL, ULCERATE, GORGUTS, DEMILICH, BOLT THROWER, DEATHSPELL OMEGA, WORMED, you will be satisfied. On the new release you will find everything you need to fully immerse yourself in black thoughts. Sometimes I feel like I'm tied up in a straitjacket in today's world. Am I normal or are those who live behind the wall? There are too many questions. I love it when a band can bring them out in me, make me think, go back and keep discovering more and more passages. "Infinite Mortality" is a record that is a restless negative opus from the other side, from the other world. The gentlemen are always trying to push the boundaries, to cross them. I think they are succeeding very well. This year you get a raw cocktail, mixed with the best ingredients. All you have to do is taste it. Just make sure you don't die of mad cramps afterwards. Technical, dissonant death metal that will drag you into the dark swamps of human thoughts! Excellent stuff for all your demons!

Jsi slepý a přesto vidíš. Děsivé představy, které ti létají hlavou jsou důsledkem nekonečné bolesti, která tě provázela poslední roky. Nakažen pradávnou chorobou si se rád a často toulal mezi stíny. Tvé kroky tě vždy nakonec dovedly daleko za město, do hlubokého lesa. Sedával si na starém pohřebišti a rozmlouval s démony. Poslouchal si u toho debutovou desku italských black death metalistů PYRA. A při každém společném setkání si měl pocit, že ti podala ruku samotná Smrt.

Je to hodně návykový materiál, který je určený pro všechny tmáře, pro obdivovatele temných zákoutí a chladných katakomb. Ano, zde, hluboko pod zemí, vedle starých prašivých rakví, muselo být album "Those Who Dwell in the Fire" nahráváno. Také cítíte pach tlejícího masa a síry? Novinku nelze jinak, než doporučit. Všem démonům i přízrakům. 


Pod touhle kapelou jsou podepsáni zkušení muzikanti, kteří si dali velký pozor na zvuk, na obal, na celkové provedení. Fanoušek dostane opravdu zdařilé dílo po všech stránkách. Není to ale jen skvělá řemeslná práce, která se mi líbí. Vždy sázím hodně na atmosféru. Hudba mě musí nějakým  způsobem zasáhnout, připoutat k reproduktorům. "Those Who Dwell in the Fire" jsem poslouchal nejraději uprostřed noci, když byla v ulicích mlha. Nemohl jsem spát a noční můry mi našeptávaly, abych šel ven. Dějí se tu podivné věci, napadlo mě ihned, když jsem se sluchátky na uších sledoval dlouhé stíny i krkavce na hřbitovní zdi. Jsme jenom prach, kus masa, čekající v různých stádiích rozkladu na smrt. PYRA na to jdou od srdce, opravdově, ryze. Mají talent na to, složit dobré skladby, které se mi dostaly pod kůži. Každé společné setkání je tak spíše rituálem, než jen obyčejnou hudbou. Mám to tahle rád. Tajemné motivy, nálady barvy krve, létající kolem jako můry kolem světla. Umíráme a rodíme se, motáme se v nekonečném kruhu. Jsem moc rád, že ještě existují skupiny, které dokáží pomocí svých melodií zhudebnit mlhu nad hřbitovem. V některých momentech mi tahle smečka lehce připomíná to, co dělají třeba takoví PORTAL, ULCERATE, PHOBOCOSM. Italové jsou magičtí, záhadní, tajemní. Jako bych byl součástí něčeho většího, vesmírného, divokého, co nedokážu definovat slovy. Jsem slepý a přesto vidím. Děsivé představy, které mi létají hlavou jsou důsledkem nekonečné bolesti, která mě provázela poslední roky. Nakažen pradávnou chorobou se rád a často toulám mezi stíny. Záhadný, syrový, mlhavý black death metal, který jde až k samé podstatě smrti! Pocta všem démonům!

You're blind and yet you can see. The frightening images that fly through your mind are the result of the endless pain that has accompanied you for the past years. Infected by an ancient disease, you have often and gladly wandered among the shadows. Your footsteps always led you far beyond the city, into the deep forest. You used to sit in an old burial ground and talk to demons. Listening to the debut album of Italian black death metallers PYRA. And every time you were together, you felt like Death himself was shaking your hand.

It's a very addictive material, which is meant for all darkies, for admirers of dark corners and cold catacombs. Yes, this is where "Those Who Dwell in the Fire" must have been recorded, deep underground, next to the old dusty coffins. Do you also smell the smell of smouldering flesh and sulphur? We can't but recommend this new album. To all demons and ghosts.


This band is signed by experienced musicians who paid a lot of attention to the sound, the cover, the overall performance. The fan gets a really successful work in all aspects. But it's not just the great craftsmanship that I like. I always bet a lot on the atmosphere. The music has to hit me in some way, hook me to the speakers. My favourite time to listen to "Those Who Dwell in the Fire" was in the middle of the night when the streets were foggy. I couldn't sleep, and nightmares whispered to me to go out. Strange things were happening here, I thought immediately, as I watched the long shadows and the ravens on the cemetery wall with my headphones on. We're just dust, a piece of flesh, waiting in various stages of decomposition to die. PYRA go at it from the heart, truly, genuinely. They have a knack for writing good songs that get under my skin. It makes every get-together a ritual rather than just plain music. I like this one. Mysterious motifs, moods the color of blood, flying around like moths around a light. We die and are born, spinning in an endless circle. I'm so glad there are still bands out there who can use their melodies to musicalize the fog over the cemetery. In some moments this pack reminds me a bit of what PORTAL, ULCERATE, PHOBOCOSM do. The Italians are magical, mysterious, mysterious. It's like I'm part of something bigger, cosmic, wild, that I can't define in words. I am blind and yet I see. The frightening images that fly through my head are the result of the endless pain that has been with me for the past years. Infected by an ancient disease, I like to wander among the shadows. Mysterious, raw, hazy black death metal that goes to the very essence of death! A tribute to all demons!

Jako prvního jsem si všiml krkavce, který držel v zobáku kus shnilého masa. Teprve až po nějakém čase mi došlo, že má zaseknuté drápy do mrtvoly. Kolem bylo ticho, přesto jsem cítil zlo, které doslova sálalo z okolních stromů. Někdy bývají moje představy při poslechu nové muziky děsivé. Nedokážu jen tak sedět a poslouchat. U nové desky, prvního dlouhohrajícího alba "Homo Homini Lupus", jsem se kýval do rytmu jako starý hrobník. Nasával jsem pach smrti a užíval si temnou a chladnou atmosféru. 

Smrt je velmi blízko, napadá mě pokaždé, když vložím tuhle nahrávku do přehrávače. Procházím se mlhavým oparem a nasávám síru. Italové jsou jako vyslanci samotného pekla. Hrají od srdce, odhodlaně a s jasným účelem. Zabít vás svými riffy, vokálem i bicími. Krkavec zvedl svoji hlavu a podíval se na mě. Budu další na řadě. 


Z hudby KERES je cítit takové to opravdové nadšení, síla a energie, kterou mívaly staré kapely. Možná právě proto jsem se rozhodl o těchto maniakálních Italech napsat. Jejich muzika je volně inspirována tím, co hrají třeba takoví BEHEMOTH, HATE, BELPHEGOR, HATH, THRONE, VREDEHAMMER, DECAPITATED. Moje přirovnání berte ale jenom jako popis pro lepší orientaci. Jinak se snaží mít tihle gentlemani svůj rukopis a výraz. Některé motivy jsou velmi ostré, zemité, rustikální, jako čerstvě otevřený hrob, jiné zase majestátní a tajemné, jako smradlavá mlha nad hřbitovem. Vše, co se týká zvuku, obalu, produkce a celkového provedení, je v nejlepším pořádku. Osobně bych možná ocenil ještě trošku víc špíny a zkažené krve, ale zase na druhou stranu, nahrávka je alespoň více "přístupná" a lépe se poslouchá. Zároveň, a to se mi osobně velmi líbí, se pánové snaží svoje hranice posouvat, překračovat je. Posluchač si tak může vychutnat spoustu zajímavých, neotřelých momentů. Základem je sice stále klasický, tradiční kov smrti, ušpiněný černotou, ale přidávány jsou kusy (nebál bych se napsat) progresivních pasáží. Výsledkem je potom velmi chutný koktejl, který když pozřete, tak zemřete v krutých křečích. Jako prvního jsem si všiml krkavce, který držel v zobáku kus shnilého masa. Teprve až po nějakém čase mi došlo, že má zaseknuté drápy do mrtvoly. Kolem bylo ticho, přesto jsem cítil zlo, které doslova sálalo z okolních stromů. Někdy bývají moje představy při poslechu nové muziky děsivé.  U "Homo Homini Lupus" bych vám to podepsal vlastní krví. Mrazivá, temná a tajemná noční můra, která vás roztrhá na kusy! U tohoto alba se rozpadnete v prach!

The first thing I noticed was a raven holding a piece of rotten meat in its beak. It was only after some time that I realised that his claws were stuck in the carcass. It was quiet around me, yet I could feel the evil that was literally radiating from the surrounding trees. Sometimes my imaginings when listening to new music are frightening. I can't just sit and listen. With the new album, the first full-length, "Homo Homini Lupus", I swayed to the beat like an old undertaker. I soaked up the smell of death and enjoyed the dark and cold atmosphere.

Death is very near, I think of it every time I put this record in my player. I walk through the misty haze and suck in the sulphur. The Italians are like emissaries of hell itself. They play with heart, determination and a clear purpose. To kill you with their riffs, vocals and drums. The raven raised his head and looked at me. I'll be next.


The music of KERES has that real enthusiasm, power and energy that the old bands used to have. Maybe that's why I decided to write about these maniacal Italians. Their music is loosely inspired by the likes of BEHEMOTH, HATE, BELPHEGOR, HATH, THRONE, VREDEHAMMER, DECAPITATED. But take my comparisons as a description for better orientation. Otherwise, these gentlemen are trying to have their own signature and expression. Some of the motifs are very sharp, earthy, rustic, like a freshly opened grave, others are majestic and mysterious, like a stinking fog over a cemetery. Everything about the sound, the packaging, the production and the overall execution is in the best of order. Personally, I might have appreciated a bit more dirt and bad blood, but then again, the recording is at least more "accessible" and easier to listen to. At the same time, and I personally like this a lot, the gentlemen try to push their boundaries, to cross them. The listener can thus enjoy many interesting, novel moments. The base is still the classic, traditional death metal, stained with blackness, but pieces of (I wouldn't be afraid to write) progressive passages are added. The result, then, is a very tasty cocktail that, if you watch it, you will die in violent convulsions. The first thing I noticed was a raven holding a piece of rotten meat in its beak. Recenze/review - ABERRATION - Refracture (2024)

Všichni, kteří rádi a často trávíme čas v katakombách, víme, že existuje ještě jeden svět. Je ještě děsivější a hnusnější než ten náš. Je v něm jenom utrpení a bolest. Nahlédnout do něj mohou jen šílení a potom hudebníci, jako jsou ABERRATION z Minnesoty, kteří nám dokáží pomocí své hudby přinést jasnou a zřetelnou zprávu o absolutní tmě a zlu. Alespoň tak vnímám jejich debutové album "Refracture" já. 

Kapela je složena ze zkušených muzikantů (Void Rot, Suffering Hour a Nothingness), kteří moc dobře ví, co a jak chtějí hrát. Totálně zničující death metal se spoustou podivných pasáží, ušpiněný black metalovou atmosférou. Bolela vás někdy hlava a chtěli jste si vyrvat mozek z lebky? Potom by se vám mohlo líbit i tohle album. 


Když "Refracture" poslouchám, tak si představuji, že takhle nějak musí naříkat nemrtví, kteří se budou navěky toulat mezi naší a oním světem. ABBERATION vzali staré death a black metalové postupy a okořenili je spoustou jedovatých a neotřelých pasáží. Výsledkem je album, které se vám bude zdát zpočátku divné, nebál bych se napsat nepříjemné. Když ale vydržíte, časem se ve vás usadí, jako krev v čerstvé ráně. Pokud jste fanoušci třeba takových PORTAL, ALTARAGE, ABYSSAL, ULCERATE, mohu vám novou desku rozhodně doporučit. Společná setkání vyžadují pozornost, pečlivost a otevřenou mysl. Novinka se vám dostane do hlavy a způsobí v ní chaos. Dejte tomu čas, uklidněte svoji mysl a potom uvidíte přízraky. Nahrávka má surový zvuk, rozdrásá vás do krve, otevře vám cestu do jiných dimenzí. Budete se toulat záhrobím, poznáte, co je opravdová bolest. Zvuk, obal, produkce, vše je podřízeno jedinému. Zničujícímu nihilismu. Jakoby vám kapela navrtala do hlavy díru, do které nasadila trychtýř a napěchovala do vás pod tlakem spoustu černé energie. Špína, hnus a nenávist, tohle vše zde najdete. A spoustu pochmurné, děsivé atmosféry. Určitě jste potkali někoho, kdo byl kdysi zraněný a který si myslel, že je už vše v pořádku. Jenže není, u téhle hudby se otevírají staré rány, vytéká z nich zkažený hnis a beznaděj. Nové album na mě působí velmi podobně. Vlastně se jedná o hudbu, která se nedá příliš popsat slovy. Lepší je opravdu poslouchat a nechat na sebe vše jen tak působit. Potom uvidíte sami. Osobně si připadám, že do mě zasekla drápy samotná smrt. Všichni, kteří rádi a často trávíme čas v katakombách, víme, že existuje ještě jeden svět. Je děsivější a hnusnější než ten náš. Existuje v něm jenom utrpení a bolest. Prašivý, zničující black death metal, který vás sežere zevnitř! Hnisavé ozvěny z onoho světa!

All of us who like and often spend time in the catacombs know that there is another world. It's even scarier and uglier than ours. There is only suffering and pain. Only the insane can peer into it, and then musicians like ABERRATION from Minnesota, who can use their music to bring us a clear and distinct message of absolute darkness and evil. At least that's how I perceive their debut album "Refracture".

The band is composed of experienced musicians (Void Rot, Suffering Hour and Nothingness) who know very well what and how they want to play. Totally devastating death metal with a lot of weird passages, dirty with black metal atmosphere. Ever had a headache and wanted to rip your brains out of your skull? Then you might like this album too.


When I listen to "Refracture", I imagine that this is how the undead, who will forever wander between this world and the next, must somehow lament. ABBERATION took the old death and black metal methods and spiced them up with a lot of poisonous and fresh passages. The result is an album that will seem strange at first, I wouldn't be afraid to write unpleasant. But if you stick with it, it will settle in you over time, like blood in a fresh wound. If you are a fan of such bands as PORTAL, ALTARAGE, ABYSSAL, ULCERATE, I can definitely recommend the new album to you. Getting together requires attention, care and an open mind. The novelty will get into your head and cause chaos. Give it time, calm your mind and then you will see the ghosts. The record has a raw sound, it will tear you to the core, it will open you up to other dimensions. You'll wander through the afterlife, you'll know what real pain is. The sound, the packaging, the production, everything is subordinate to one thing. Destructive nihilism. It's as if the band drilled a hole in your head, put a funnel in it and pumped a lot of black energy into you under pressure. Filth, disgust and hatred, that's what you'll find here. And a lot of gloomy, scary atmosphere. I'm sure you've met someone who was once hurt and thought everything was all right now. But it's not, with this music, old wounds are opened up, the rotten pus and hopelessness oozes out. The new album has a very similar effect on me. In fact, it is music that cannot be described in words. It's better to really listen and just let it all affect you. Then you will see for yourself. Personally, I feel like death itself is digging its claws into me. All of us who love to spend time in the catacombs know that there is another world. It's scarier and uglier than ours. There is only suffering and pain. Dusty, devastating black death metal that will eat you up from the inside! The festering echoes of that world!

Není to tak dávno, kdy byly otevřeny staré hrobky. Byli v nich pohřbeni prokletí. Už nastal čas, aby se vrátili. Zohavené tváře, maso odpadávající od kostí, ale také ostré zuby a drápy. Nejdou zabít, nejdou zničit. Roztrhají vás na kusy, stejně jako nové album německých black metalistů AD MORTEM. Ti přicházejí se svojí první dlouhohrající nahrávkou. Je nutné rovnou napsat, že se opravdu velmi povedla. Pokud jste fanoušci severských melodií, špíny a zkaženého masa, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. 

Ihned mě zasáhly ledové melodie. Jsou jako vichr, který předchází apokalypse. Svět je poslední roky divné místo k životu a proto se stále častěji obracíme do temnoty. Vždycky jsem měl v tomhle stylu rád takový ten špinavý neklid, zvrácenou sílu. Myslím si, že se to nedá naučit, musíte to mít v sobě, jako zvrácenou víru. Němci tohle všechno umí na výbornou a přidávají ještě spoustu hnisu a špíny navíc. 


Pochválit musím zvuk, který je namíchaný přesně v tom poměru, který mám rád. Chlad, temnota, vše zabalené do starých pavučin, přesto krásně čitelné a mrazivé. Základem hudby AD MORTEM jsou norské i švédské melodie. Přidávána je potom vlastní invence, spousta nápadů. Na své si tak přijde každý, kdo má rád tradiční, klasický přístup, ale i neotřelé pasáže. Někdy je zkrátka dobré zhasnout všechna světla a ponořit se do tmy. Němci budou vašimi velmi dobrými průvodci záhrobím. Budete tančit na vlastních hrobech, klanět se v chrámech bolesti, budete se toulat nekonečnými chodbami podsvětí. Za zvuků "In Honorem Mortis" potkáte oběšená, utopená, rozsekaná těla hříšníků, abyste nakonec dosáhli svého cíle. Tohle není jenom hudba, to je spíše obřad, u kterého zažijete spoustu nenávisti, smutku i pocitů, které nelze slovy definovat. Nová deska si mě postupně podmanila, stala se mojí součástí. Utíkal jsem ven, do tmy a pokaždé jsem skončil na hřbitově. Za zvuků téhle nahrávky jsem se díval, jak z hrobů lezou prokletí, jak se zakusují do zkažených tkání, jak jim září oči a touží po krvi. Myslím si, že je to velmi dobrá stylová záležitost se vším, co k tomu patří. Pánové ale přidávají ještě něco navíc. Jedná se o hluboký underground, o cestu bez konce, o smrt v krutých podobách. Exhumujte svůj vlastní hrob a poslouchejte hodně nahlas. Teprve potom vynikne vše nejlépe. Není to tak dávno, kdy byly otevřeny staré hrobky. Byli v nich pohřbeni prokletí. Už nastal čas, aby se vrátili. Mrazivý, drásavý black metalový oheň, který vás spálí na popel! Budete obětováni démonům!

Not so long ago, the old tombs were opened. The cursed were buried in them. It's time for them to return. Charred faces, flesh falling off the bones, but also sharp teeth and claws. They can't be killed, they can't be destroyed. They will tear you apart, just like the new album from German black metallers AD MORTEM. They come with their first full-length record. It is necessary to write right away that it is really very good. If you are a fan of Nordic melodies, dirt and rotten meat, don't hesitate a moment.

I was immediately struck by the icy melodies. They're like the whirlwind that precedes the apocalypse. The world has been a strange place to live these last few years, which is why we are increasingly turning to darkness. I've always liked that kind of dirty restless, perverse power in this style. I think you can't teach it, you have to have it in you, like a perverse belief. The Germans do it all very well and add a lot of extra pus and dirt.


I must praise the sound, which is mixed in exactly the ratio I like. Cold, dark, all wrapped in old cobwebs, yet beautifully clear and chilling. The basis of AD MORTEM' s music is both Norwegian and Swedish melodies. Then their own inventiveness is added, lots of ideas. So everyone who likes a traditional, classical approach, but also novel passages, will find something to like. Sometimes it's just good to turn off all the lights and plunge into the darkness. The Germans will be your very good guides to the beyond. You will dance on your own graves, bow down in temples of pain, wander the endless corridors of the underworld. To the sound of "In Honorem Mortis" you will meet the hanged, drowned, dismembered bodies of sinners, to finally reach your goal. This isn't just music, it's more of a ritual where you will experience a lot of hate, sadness and feelings that can't be defined in words. The new album gradually conquered me, it became a part of me. I ran outside, into the dark, and each time I ended up in the cemetery. To the sound of this record, I watched the cursed crawl out of their graves, biting into the corrupted tissue, their eyes glowing and bloodthirsty. I think it's a very good stylistic affair with all that goes with it. But the gentlemen add a little something extra. This is a deep underground, a journey without end, death in its cruel forms. Exhume your own grave and listen very loudly. Only then will everything stand out at its best. Not so long ago, the old tombs were opened. The cursed were buried in them. It's time for them to return. A freezing, gut-wrenching black metal fire that will burn you to the ground! You will be sacrificed to the demons!

Dívejte se upřeně do černé elipsy. Také patříte k těm, kteří při tom zakusili pocit, že se elipsa zvětšuje a vtahuje vás? Potom jste zde správně. S hudbou MEAH MESSIAH je to velmi podobné. Je temná, industriální, zdánlivě odosobněná, nelidská, Přesto melodická a neotřelá. Vtáhne vás postupně dovnitř, jako vesmírná černá díra. Když na jejich hru přistoupíte, dostanete se do jejich světa, do dimenze, kde vládne absolutní tma a deziluze. Je o tom vlastně celý dnešní svět. Za chvíli nebudeme vědět, co je pravda a co lež. 

Na začátek je nutné zmínit, že principál souboru Dan Friml je velký perfekcionista. Vládne zvukem, produkcí, je podepsán pod obalem, ale také pod samotnými nápady. Oba další členové mu ale zdatně sekundují, doplňují jej. Osobně se mi třeba bicí od Miloše Meiera velmi líbí. Tohle všechno by ale v dnešní době nadprodukce muziky mělo být samozřejmostí. Nakonec jsou stejně nejdůležitější nápady, rukopis, vlastní výraz a zapamatovatelnost. Skladby jako takové.


Kapela se i nadále pohybuje ve stejných oblastech jako jejich slavnější kolegové DEVIN TOWNSEND, FEAR FACTORY, MINISTRY, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, FAITH NO MORE, MNEMIC, NINE INCH NAILS. Zda je to a nebo není na škodu, to si musí každý posluchač srovnat sám v sobě. V současnosti je hrozně těžké být originální, každý je někomu podobný. Za sebe ale mohu napsat, že se mi nové album "In Infinite Illusion" líbí. Je zpěvnější, melodičtější, pestřejší, vzdušnější, přehlednější. Cítím z něj poctivost, takového toho opravdového muzikantského ducha a nadšení. Ze skladeb čiší na všechny strany chlad, strojová přesnost a odtažitost. Ledový otisk z filmů o temné, dystopické budoucnosti. Na staré dobré sci-fi autory jsem si při poslechu vzpomněl velmi často. Na jednu stranu si novinka stále zachovává takový ten syrový odlidštěný nádech, na tu druhou z něj více oproti minulé desce dýchá větší živočišnost. Pochválit musím i dobře zpracované vokály. Je hodně znát, že desku tvořili zkušení muzikanti, kteří přesně ví, co a jak chtějí hrát. Mají vlastní temnou vizi, cestu a směr, kterým se chtěli vydat. Myslím si, že se jim to nakonec povedlo a došli svého cíle. Nové album je v rámci stylu vybroušené k dokonalosti. Navíc se velmi dobře poslouchá. Pro někoho bude inspirace zmiňovanými vzory možná až příliš velká, ale nad podobnými úvahami dávno mávám rukou. To by v dnešní době nemohl vydat nikdo nic. Hudba je přeci krásná v tom, že nám rozšiřuje obzory a tříbí fantazii. V případě téhle desky to platí na sto procent. A teď mě prosím nechte. Nasedám do své vesmírné lodi a dávám naší zničené Zemi sbohem. Zapínám play a přidávám hlasitost. Dívám se upřeně do černé elipsy. Industriální, progresivní, metalový kolaps vesmíru! Zhmotněné deziluze!

Keep your eyes fixed on the black ellipse. Are you also one of those who have experienced the sensation of the ellipse growing larger and drawing you in? Then you have come to the right place. It is very similar with the music of MEAH MESSIAH. It is dark, industrial, seemingly detached, inhuman, yet melodic and novel. It draws you in gradually, like a cosmic black hole. If you agree to their game, you enter their world, a dimension where absolute darkness and disillusionment reign. That's what the world is all about today. Soon we won't know what's true and what's false.

At the outset, it should be mentioned that the company's principal, Dan Friml, is a great perfectionist. He rules the sound, the production, he's signed off on the cover art, but also the ideas themselves. The other two members, however, ably second him, complement him. Personally, I like the drums by Milos Meier very much. But all this should be a matter of course in these days of overproduction of music. In the end, the most important things are ideas, handwriting, own expression and memorability. The compositions as such.


The band continues to move in the same areas as their more famous colleagues DEVIN TOWNSEND, FEAR FACTORY, MINISTRY, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, FAITH NO MORE, MNEMIC, NINE INCH NAILS. Whether or not this is a detriment, each listener has to decide for himself. Nowadays it's very hard to be original, everyone is like someone else. But for myself I can write that I like the new album "In Infinite Illusion". It's more singable, more melodic, more colourful, more airy, more clear. I can feel the honesty, the real musicianship and enthusiasm. The songs ooze coldness, machine-like precision and detachment in all directions. The icy imprint of films about a dark, dystopian future. I thought of good old sci-fi writers very often while listening. On the one hand, the new album still retains that raw dehumanized feel, on the other hand, it breathes more animalism compared to the last album. I must also praise the well crafted vocals. It is very obvious that the album was created by experienced musicians who know exactly what and how they want to play. They have their own dark vision, path and direction they wanted to take. I think they succeeded in the end and reached their goal. The new album is polished to perfection in terms of style. Moreover, it is very easy to listen to. For some, the inspiration from the aforementioned patterns might be too much, but I've been waving my hand over such considerations for a long time. No one could release anything like that these days. After all, music is beautiful in that it broadens our horizons and stretches our imagination. In the case of this record, that's 100% true. Now, please leave me alone. I'm boarding my spaceship and bidding farewell to our ruined Earth. Putting it on play and turning up the volume. I'm staring at a black ellipse. Industrial, progressive, metal collapse of the universe! Disillusionment made flesh!

Přepínáš programy na televizi, listuješ stránkami na internetu. Všude jenom sex a násilí. Někdy máš pocit, že ti pukne hlava, že se zblázníš. Protože nežiješ v krásném světě z reklamy, protože vstáváš brzy a piješ levné pivo. Špinavé ulice tvého města, otrocká práce, lidé povalující se na zemi. Chudoba, špína a krutá, ošklivá smrt v kontrastu s lesklými stránkami módních časopisů. 

Z obrazovek vytéká zkažená krev a další zástupy pochodují na smrt. Existuje jenom jedno řešení. Říci všem jedno velké FUCK YOU! a pustit si nové EP holandských grinderů HEADLESS DAWN. Našim čtenářům jsme kapelu již představovali. Máme i parádní rozhovor (články jsou odkazovány dole pod recenzí). Opět se jedná o jízdu přímo do pekla. O vysokooktanový nářez, u kterého vám pukne lebka tlakem. 


Přesunuli jsme veřejné popravy do vysílání, díváme se na gladiátory v klecích. Víc násilí, víc akce, další dávka dopaminu. Holanďané jdou opět k jádru věci, jsou nekompromisní a abych pravdu řekl, tak s jejich texty naplno souhlasím. Líbí se mi i zvuk, který je neučesaný, hnilobný, surový, jako ulice na periferii vašeho města. Máte rádi kapely jako REPULSION, TERRORIZER, CARNIVORE, S.O.D., NAUSEA, IMPETIGO, MACHETAZO, CARCASS? Potom jděte do toho. Budete po zásluze odměněni totálním šílenstvím, které může nabídnout pouze tenhle styl. Beru do rukou kladivo a mlátím do televize, vyhazuji počítač z okna, otevírám si radši pivo a večer zajdu do malého klubu. Zařvu si z plných plic spolu s kapelou, budu pařit, dokud si nepolámu všechny kosti v těle. HEADLESS DAWN vás roztrhají na kusy a vy za to budete ještě rádi. Je to klasický, tradiční masakr, přesně jako to mám rád. Nikde nic nepřebývá, nikde nic nechybí a jde se rovnou k věci. Přiznám se bez mučení, že jsem se k "Freakshow Ballet" rád a často vracel. Nechtělo se mi nic psát, raději jsem jen tak poslouchal a to prosím pěkně, pořádně nahlas. Je to temná, divoká nahrávka, je v ní velký kus naštvanosti, živočišnosti. Možná jsem starý pes a moje názory jsou dávno překonané, ale tohle je muzika, kterou budu vždy rád a s chutí podporovat. Koluje totiž i v mých žilách. Díváme se kolem sebe podobnýma očima. Nelze jinak, než chválit a opatřit EP známkou kvality. Přepínáš programy na televizi, listuješ stránkami na internetu. Všude jenom sex a násilí. Někdy máš pocit, že ti pukne hlava, že se zblázníš. Protože nežiješ v krásném světě z reklamy, protože vstáváš brzy a piješ levné pivo. Zničující, divoký grind death metal, který vám ukáže hnusnou, špinavou a krutou realitu dnešního podivného světa! Fuck you!

You're flipping channels on the TV, scrolling through pages on the Internet. It's all sex and violence. Sometimes you feel like your head's gonna explode, you're gonna go crazy. Because you don't live in the beautiful world of the commercials, because you wake up early and drink cheap beer. The dirty streets of your city, the slave labor, the people lying on the ground. Poverty, squalor and a cruel, ugly death in contrast to the glossy pages of fashion magazines. 

Corrupted blood oozing from the screens, and more crowds marching to their deaths. There is only one solution. Say one big FUCK YOU! and listen to the new EP from Dutch grinders HEADLESS DAWN. We've moved the public executions to broadcast, we're looking at gladiators in cages. More violence, more action, another dose of dopamine. The Dutch are going to the heart of the matter again, they're uncompromising and to be honest, I agree with their lyrics completely. I also like the sound, which is unkempt, rotten, raw, like the streets on the outskirts of your city. Do you like bands like REPULSION, TERRORIZER, CARNIVORE, S.O.D., NAUSEA, IMPETIGO, MACHETAZO, CARCASS? Then go for it. You will be deservedly rewarded with the total insanity that only this style can offer. I'm picking up a hammer and hitting the TV, throwing my computer out the window, opening a beer instead, and going to a small club in the evening. I'll scream at the top of my lungs with the band, party till I break every bone in my body. HEADLESS DAWN will tear you apart and you will be glad you did. It's classic, traditional carnage, just the way I like it. Nothing is missing, nothing is missing and it gets straight to the point. I will admit without torture that I like to come back to "Freakshow Ballet" often. I didn't want to write anything, I preferred to just listen, and please do it nicely, out loud. It's a dark, wild record, there's a lot of angry, animalistic stuff in it. Maybe I'm an old dog and my views are long outdated, but this is music I will always love and support with gusto. It runs through my veins. We look around us with similar eyes. I can't help but praise and stamp the EP with the quality mark. You flip through the channels on TV, you scroll through the pages on the Internet. It's all sex and violence everywhere. Sometimes you feel like your head's gonna explode, you're gonna go crazy. Because you don't live in the beautiful world of advertising, because you wake up early and drink cheap beer. Devastating, savage grind death metal that shows you the ugly, dirty and cruel reality of today's strange world! Fuck you!

Jsou noční můry, které se neustále opakují. V téhle se probouzíš uprostřed noci a máš neodbytný pocit, že je někdo stojí ve stínu. Nemá žádnou tvář, přesto se usmívá. Slyšíš neklidný šepot. Přišel si pro tebe. Tvůj vlastní démon. Otisk těch nejtemnějších myšlenek. Zasekne do tebe svůj ostrý dráp a už tě nikdy nepustí. Budete se spolu toulat nekonečnými smradlavými močály a poslouchat u toho novou desku APPARITION z Kalifornie. Kapely, která dokáže svojí hudbou vyvolat absolutní tmu. 

Je to nekonečně děsivá exhumace starého hrobu, ve kterém bylo kdysi uloženo vaše tělo. Zvuk nahrávky je vynikající, notně špinavý, mokvající. Smrdí zkaženým masem i sírou. Odkryjete postupně jednotlivé vrstvy a po nějakém čase se vám dostane deska do krve. Způsobí vám v žilách led a naučíte se díky ní rozmlouvat s ostatními nemrtvými. Poslouchejte pozorně. Nejlépe v chladu a o samotě. 


Doomová nálada starých hřbitovů. Do náhrobků jsou otištěny nářky kdysi mučených, ponižovaných a nakonec pohřbených zaživa. Nové album "Disgraced Emanations from a Tranquil State" se mi dostalo až do podvědomí, hluboko do mé mysli. Zanechalo tam po sobě hlubokou krvavou stopu. Pánové opět napsali skvělé skladby, u kterých budete mezi prsty prosévat prach svých předků. Američané umí být záhadní, děsiví, svým způsobem i progresivní, jindy zase techničtí takovým tím zničujícím způsobem. Možná znáte ten pocit, když si nejste jistí, jestli sedíte na správné straně zdi. Svázáni v nepřirozené poloze. Tvrdí o vás, že jste šílení. Jste to ale doopravdy vy? Když poslouchám tuhle desku, tak si tím nejsem úplně jistý. Má v sobě totiž takový zvláštní, přitažlivý a podmanivý neklid. Budete ji sice muset rozkrývat postupně, po jednotlivých vrstvách, ale když vydržíte, budete odměněni skvělým morbidním zážitkem. Hudba se zde nejdřív plazí jako jedovatý had, aby vás nakonec uštkla a vy zemřete v nekonečných křečích. Je to svým způsobem hodně extrémní nahrávka, s parádním zvukem i obalem. Jedná se ale hlavně o temně chladnou a smradlavou exhumaci. Fanoušci třeba takových INCANTATION, AUTOPSY, DISMA, CRUCIAMENTUM, FUNEBRARUM, FATHER BEFOULED, VASTUM, DECREPISY, OSSUARIUM, MORGUE, mi zajisté má slova potvrdí. Máte vlastně jen dvě možnosti. Buď přistoupit na nečistou a šílenou hru téhle smečky nebo utéct pryč. Osobně jsem se rád budil uprostřed noci. Podanou ruku jsme přijal vždy, když byla kolem mě neprostupná tma. Jsou noční můry, které se neustále opakují. V téhle se probouzím uprostřed noci a mám neodbytný pocit, že někdo stojí ve stínu. Nemá žádnou tvář, přesto se usmívá. Slyším neklidný šepot. Přišel si pro mě. Morbidně hnilobný, drásavě krvavý death metalový výlet do nekonečných močálů lidského utrpení! Bolest, chlad a temnota!

There are nightmares that keep recurring. In this one, you wake up in the middle of the night with the insistent feeling that someone is standing in the shadows. They have no face, yet they are smiling. You hear a restless whisper. He has come for you. Your own demon. The imprint of your darkest thoughts. It will sink its sharp claw into you and never let you go. You'll wander endless stinking swamps together, listening to the new APPARITION record from California. A band that can create absolute darkness with their music.

It's an endlessly terrifying exhumation of the old grave where your body was once buried. The sound of the recording is excellent, a bit dirty, wet. It smells of rotten flesh and sulphur. You uncover the layers one by one and after some time the record gets into your blood. It will cause ice in your veins and you will learn to talk to other undead. Listen carefully. Preferably in the cold and alone.


Doom mood of old cemeteries. The tombstones are imprinted with the lamentations of those once tortured, humiliated and finally buried alive. The new album "Disgraced Emanations from a Tranquil State" has reached my subconscious, deep into my mind. It left a deep trail of blood. Once again the gentlemen have written great songs that will have you sifting the dust of your ancestors through your fingers. The Americans can be mysterious, eerie, progressive in their own way, and at other times techy in that devastating way. You may know the feeling when you're not sure if you're sitting on the right side of the wall. Tied in an unnatural position. They say you're crazy. But are you really? Listening to this record, I'm not so sure. Because it has this strange, attractive, captivating restlessness about it. You'll have to unravel it gradually, layer by layer, but if you hang in there, you'll be rewarded with a great morbid experience. The music here crawls like a venomous snake at first, only to eventually bite you and leave you dying in endless spasms. It's a very extreme record in a way, with a great sound and cover. But it is mainly a darkly cold and smelly exhumation. Fans of such bands as INCANTATION, AUTOPSY, DISMA, CRUCIAMENTUM, FUNEBRARUM, FATHER BEFOULED, VASTUM, DECREPISY, OSSUARIUM, MORGUE, will surely confirm my words. You actually have only two choices. You can either go along with this pack's dirty and insane game or you can run away. Personally, I like to wake up in the middle of the night. I accepted a handshake whenever the darkness was impenetrable around me. There are nightmares that keep recurring. In this one, I wake up in the middle of the night with the insistent feeling that someone is standing in the shadows. They have no face, yet they're smiling. I hear a restless whisper. He's come for me. A morbidly rotten, blood-curdling death metal trip into the endless swamps of human misery! Pain, cold and darkness!

Sedíš ve svém pokoji a drásáš si obličej do krve. Připadá ti, že se celý svět točí stále rychleji dokola. Čím dál tím víc informací, čím dál tím víc nenávisti. Už dávno nemáš strach z Boha, ani z temných stínů. Děsí tě vlastní já. Připadáš si, jakoby ti někdo zatloukl do mozku obrovský trychtýř. Temná hmota z vesmíru tě zcela ovládá. Jsi blázen ty, nebo ti za zdí? Otázek je mnoho a odpovědi nepřicházejí. Falešných proroků je už příliš. Řežeš se nožem do rukou a pouštíš si jenom hudbu, která tě dokáže rozsekat. Potřebuješ víc bolesti, rychlosti, víc riffů a úderů bicích.

Italští HIDEOUS DIVINITY ještě nikdy nebyli tak majestátní, vznešení. Mocné nástupy, strach z kosmu, surový brutální death metal, pochybnosti o vlastní existenci. Tohle vše zde naleznete a ještě mnoho navíc. Když jsem se s novinkou seznamoval, seděl jsem opravdu sám ve svém pokoji. Postupně jsem přidával hlasitost a skladby se mi postupně dostávaly do mozku. Když mi propláchli lebku kyselinou, cítil jsem se očištěný. Nové album chce více času, je v určitých momentech nepřístupné. Musíte mít fantazii a trpělivost. Touhu objevovat. Potom pochopíte. 


U podobných nahrávek více než kde jinde platí, že je vždy lepší si vše v klidu poslechnout a potom si udělat vlastní názor. Slova nejsou dostatečným výrazovým prostředkem. Přesto se pokusím vám nové album připodobnit. Za prvé, promo materiály hovoří o lehké podobnosti a inspiraci třeba takovými NILE, CATTLE DECAPITATION, SUFFOCATION, ULCERATE, HATE ETERNAL a BEHEMOTH. S tím lze souhlasit, ale také je rovnou nutno dodat, že HIDEOUS DIVINITY jsou natolik originálním tělesem, že jsou jakákoliv přirovnání spíše zbytečná. Pánové mají svůj vlastní rukopis, dokáží vytvořit celkově velmi pochmurnou a temnou atmosféru. Umí být techničtí a progresivní, v určitých momentech i neuchopitelní, ale stále si zachovávají potřebný drive a sílu. "Unextinct" má samozřejmě skvělý současný a čitelný zvuk, zajímavý obal, ale hlavně vás chytí, zasekne do vás dráp a nepustí vás. Alespoň mě se to stalo. Chvilku to trvalo, musel jsem rozkrýt jednotlivé vrstvy, což samozřejmě chtělo určitou dávku trpělivosti a empatie. Je to soundtrack ke ztroskotání lodi, která není z našeho světa. Na její palubě jsou nemrtví i bytosti z jiných dimenzí. Disonance, spoustu do krve a vzteku zabalených motivů. Tahle deska je velmi pestrá a nenudím se ani chvilku. Je vystavěna na pevných základech, ke kterým jsou potom přidávány různé odbočky, záseky. Jako bych se díval na rozbouřené moře, na jeho sílu a energii. Sedím ve svém pokoji a drásám si obličej do krve. Připadá mi, že se celý svět točí stále rychleji dokola. Čím dál tím víc informací, čím dál tím víc nenávisti. Už dávno nemám strach z Boha, ani z temných stínů. Děsí mě vlastní já. Topím se v hlubinách vlastních myšlenek. Umírám, abych nakonec vždy povstal z popela. Technický, brutální death metal, který vás roztrhá na kusy! Absolutní a zničující záležitost, hudba jdoucí k podstatě vlastní existence!

I was really sitting alone in my room when I was introduced to this new album. Gradually I turned up the volume and the songs gradually made their way into my brain. When they flushed my skull with acid, I felt cleansed. The new album takes more time, it's inaccessible at certain points. You have to have imagination and patience. The desire to explore. Then you'll understand.


With recordings like this, more than anywhere else, it is always better to listen to everything in peace and then make up your own mind. Words are not a sufficient means of expression. Nevertheless, I will try to give you a taste of the new album. First of all, the promo materials talk about a slight similarity and inspiration from such bands as NILE, CATTLE DECAPITATION, SUFFOCATION, ULCERATE, HATE ETERNAL and BEHEMOTH. One can agree with that, but it should also be added that HIDEOUS DIVINITY is such an original ensemble that any comparisons are rather unnecessary. The gentlemen have their own signature, they can create a very gloomy and dark atmosphere overall. They can be technical and progressive, even ungraspable at certain moments, but still retain the necessary drive and power. "Unextinct" of course has a great contemporary and legible sound, an interesting cover, but most importantly it grabs you, sticks its claw in you and doesn't let go. At least it happened to me. It took a while, I had to peel back the layers, which of course took a certain amount of patience and empathy. It is the soundtrack to a shipwreck that is not of our world. There are undead and beings from other dimensions on board. Dissonance, lots of blood and rage wrapped in themes. This record is very colourful and I'm not bored for a moment. It's built on a solid foundation, to which are then added various digressions, interludes. It's like looking at a stormy sea, its power and energy. I sit in my room and scratch my face until it bleeds. It seems to me that the whole world is going round and round faster. More and more information, more and more hate. I'm not afraid of God anymore, or the dark shadows. I'm scared of myself. I'm drowning in the depths of my own thoughts. I'm dying to rise from the ashes. Technical, brutal death metal that will tear you apart! An absolute and devastating affair, music that goes to the essence of one's own existence!
