A few questions - interview with death metal band from Germany -  TERMINAL CARNAGE.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

The project TERMINAL CARNAGE was started in winter 2019/2020 by myself - Stefan Walter (guitars, bass and vocals). The TERMINAL CARNAGE headquarters are in Wiesenttal, a small community in Upper Franconia, Germany.

The idea to start the project TERMINAL CARNAGE came up approximately one year after the split-up of ADORING HUMAN FLESH (AHF) the former band where I played guitar.

I had my own musical vision apart from AHF so I started to work on this by myself. At this point I was not able to convince a former band member during the song writing process, so I decided to compose and record the songs just by myself. Regarding style there were no limits as I have musical influences all across the metal genre prefering more extreme styles such as Death Metal. After having finished a bunch of songs I presented the recordings to Markus (former Drummer of AHF). Markus liked the song material and agreed to join TERMINAL CARNAGE. Our Death Metal-duo was now ready to take the next steps…


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

Guitars, bass and vocals I recorded in my homestudio (WARHEAD PRODUCTIONS, Wiesenttal/Germany) as mentioned before. The recordings and the mix was finished in spring 2020 just a few days before the first Corona-lockdown happened. The drums were played by Markus in the basement of his house while I was doing the recording job sitting in the corner of the room hitting the record button and drinking beer 😊

The whole drum recording took place in various sessions and was finished end of summer 2020. After that Markus and me worked on final arrangements and at one point reached the state of mutual satisfaction regarding the mix. Now a mastering engineer was needed to give THE SICKENING REBIRTH the required, final polish. The choice for the mastering job fell on Simon Hammer (REBOUND STUDIO, Nuremberg) after having received a great sounding test track from Simon. All the recorded tracks were shared virtually with the mastering studio due to Corona and the shit involved, such as dusk-to-dawn curfew, etc.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?


How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

Yes, TERMINAL CARNAGE definitely needed a label to release THE SICKENING REBIRTH as we are not a band in the common sense. Having various mastered test tracks of the album available those were sent to various labels. Actually we were surprised about the positive feedback from the labels. Nevertheless, the choice to release THE SICKENING REBIRTH fell on GREAT DANE RECORDS in France. Raphael, the guy from GREAT DANE RECORDS who is in charge for us, is a companionable partner, music fan and death metal maniac as we are. In a first step GREAT DANE RECORDS offered us to release the album as digipak CD and digital download. The digipak CD is limited to 500 copies, but we are confident that there is more to come…

GREAT DANE does a really good job, takes care of the promotion and all the other issues. We are happy with our partnership and would like to send a big ‘THANK YOU’ to Raphael and GREAT DANE RECORDS.


Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

I wrote the lyrics after the guitar tracks were finished. Peace by peace and word by word - writing the lyrics for me is an important and time consuming job. A lot of passion, personal thoughts and opinions fill my lyrics... the world surrounding us delivers enough material for death metal lyrics.

Supernatural, spiritual or religious subjects are not the core issues here. Some lyrics are serious, some you can see with a wink of the eye but always with a certain, true or at least conceivable background.

Here a brief summary of the songs and the lyrical content. But it’s always best if you read the lyrics (printed inside the booklet) and make yourself your own picture...

The Sickening Rebirth:
Is actually a song about nationalism gaining ground worldwide and that humanity failed to learn from history in this regard.

Dead Mass:
In this song our society is described as braindead mass living to consume, kneel before the establishment and as long as the "dead mass" is fed they do not revolt.

Bereaved Cry:
This song desribes a war scenery, soldiers that die and the bereaved suffering at home while warmongers lough. It is an anti-war song.

Chaos The New World Order:
As the title of the song says, we live in a world where politicians spread lies, rules are broken, facts are denied and so on...
The individual is powerless and has to accept the nuisance while the world is sinking in total chaos.

Involuntary Organ Donor:
Is a song about a person who sold his own soul and organs for cash. It is a song about illegal organ trade.

Least Evil:
In this song warfare in times of digitalisation is picked as central theme. Digitalization controls life and we became totally dependendent on internet and the digital world.
So what will happen if this environment is switched off ?

Years Of Demise:
This song is actually a hold out slogan. Hard times are desribed, the struggle for survival and a light at the end of the tunnel. So after hard times, better times will follow.

Obituary After Death:
This song is about people who try to gain as much might and money as possible, maybe thinking they are immortal. But life is finite and all that remains will be the obituary...


Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The graphics including logo I created by myself. I think these things are important for a metal and especially a death metal band and should somehow reflect the musical character of a band.

I tried my best and my intention was/is that everything, so the whole album, looks and feels as it would be from the same mould. Of course I would love to just concentrate on the musical part of TERMINAL CARNAGE but somehow it is also fun to work on the look...

Social networks and the internet itself eliminated the age of tape trading and print paper magazines regarding music publications beside other... well, to speak for myself – I am ‚old-school‘, so quess what I prefer... I like to have something in my hands!

On the other hand it’s fascinating how people interact nowadays. The speed news and publications are spread all around the globe is amazing. Fact is, in this Corona-crisis a publication such as THE SICKENING REBIRTH would not have been possible without the internet and the possibilities therein...

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

‚Idolise‘ is maybe the wrong word. To speak for myself, my influences are so widely diversified that I have to smile if my music is compared to one or two specific bands. Of course there are bands out there who influenced the way I play guitar but on the other hand I never really played cover songs or was nailed to a certain style of playing... so in a way, it’s my way!

But of course it’s important to have a comparison to describe music to somebody who never heard it before. In case of TERMINAL CARNAGE I would say and also support people who have the opinion we sound like a mixture of BOLT THROWER, OBITUARY and ASPHYX. Due to some melodies also PARADISE LOST I would like to mention... AUTOPSY, NECROPHAGIA, MONSTROSITY, MORBID ANGEL and CELTIC FROST are also influencing our music if I quote people desribing our style. Somebody recently said we sound like the TYPE O NEGATIVE of Death Metal which I think is funny...


How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

Gigs under the banner TERMINAL CARNAGE have never been played as we are acting as a duo at the moment. This won’t change as long as there is no way to come together as a band and clubs are closed anyway due to Corona. Let’s see if we come up with a live line-up at one point.

Of course Markus and me played in various bands before and always enjoyed playing live. I prefer playing festivals as this is always something special but of course a good club show sometimes kicks ass even more...

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Never change a running system – first of all, we will continue like this. I write the songs, torture the strings and my throat and Markus beats the hell out of his drums.

Our plan is to release our 2nd album beginning 2022. Most songs are written and we are in the middle of the recording phase. The album title is fixed and the artwork in preparation... if you like THE SICKENING REBIRTH prepare for a whole lot more!

Abyste plně pochopili novou desku australských death metalistů WEREWOLVES, měli byste se vydat ke špinavé stoce, která vytéká za vaším městem. Hnis, kusy nahrubo nasekaných těl, smrad a temnota. Pokud rádi a často propadáte nihilismu, neváhejte ani chvilku. Na novince "What a Time to Be Alive" se odehrávají zakázaná jatka, hnusná a špinavá kafilerie, která vás rozemele na prach. 

Jedná se o druhé (mimochodem prvotina je také vynikající) album a také o značně morbidní zážitek. Někdy přemýšlím, kde se v lidech bere tolik zla, odkud vlastně přichází. Jestli z jejich nitra a nebo jsou to jen přirozené pudy. Australané sice nedávají na mé otázky odpovědi, ale rozhodně museli nahrávat v pravém, bolestivém pekle. Skladby totiž mají ďábelskou atmosféru, jsou v nich obsaženy zajímavé nápady a vy si tak můžete naplno vychutnat opravdové setkání se smrtí. 


Základem tvorby WEREWOLVES je death metal, ale kapela se nebrání ani výletům k thrashi, blacku a letos mají některé momenty i nádech grindu nebo techniky. Zvuk je masivní, mohutný a chladný zároveň. Pro mě osobně je pak asi nejdůležitější, že se nejedná jen o skvělé talentované muzikanty, ale také dokáží napsat motivy, které se mi doslova zadírají pod kůži. Opravdu stojím u špinavé stoky, ve které plavou jako nějaké výčitky, všechny zlé lidské činy. Jsme někdy predátoři, kteří neznají slitování. Nebereme ohledy na jiné druhy. Odpadává nám od zubů zkažené maso, brodíme se po kolena ve vlastní krvi. Podobný pocit mám i z desky "What a Time to Be Alive". Je pro mě nastaveným zrcadlem v pekle, kusem shnilé hudby, ke které se budu rád a často vracet. Stylový obal vše jen krásně podtrhuje.  WEREWOLVES vydali komplexní dílo pro všechny fanoušky extrémního metalu, obdivovatele dlouhých stínů a starodávných okultních rituálů. Nemělo by chybět ve sbírce žádného opravdového nihilisty. Nové album je surovou a syrovou odpovědí na ozvěny ze záhrobí. K dokonalosti nabroušený nůž, který bude použit pro oběť. Tak vnímám desku já. Démonický black death metal, který vás spálí na popel!

To fully understand the new record of Australian death metallers WEREWOLVES, you should head to the dirty sewer that flows out of your city. Pus, pieces of roughly chopped bodies, stench and darkness. If you like and often succumb to nihilism, do not hesitate for a moment. The new album "What a Time to Be Alive" takes place a forbidden slaughterhouse, a disgusting and dirty rendering plant, which will grind you to dust.

This is the second (by the way, the first album is also excellent) album and also a very morbid experience. Sometimes I wonder where so much evil comes from people, where it actually comes from. Whether from within them or they are just natural instincts. The Australians don't give answers to my questions, but they definitely had to record in a real, painful hell. The songs have a devilish atmosphere, they contain interesting ideas and you can fully enjoy a real encounter with death.


The basis of WEREWOLVES 'work is death metal, but the band does not resist trips to thrash, black and this year they have some moments and a touch of grind or technique. The sound is massive, powerful and cool at the same time. For me personally, perhaps the most important thing is that they are not only great talented musicians, but they can also write motifs that literally get under my skin. I really stand by a dirty sewer, in which all evil human deeds float like some remorse. We are sometimes predators who do not know mercy. We do not take into account other species. Corrupt flesh falls from our teeth, we wade to our knees in our own blood. I have a similar feeling from the album "What a Time to Be Alive". It is a mirror set for me in hell, a piece of rotten music to which I will gladly and often return. The stylish cover only beautifully underlines everything. WEREWOLVES have released a comprehensive work for all fans of extreme metal, admirers of long shadows and ancient occult rituals. It should not be missing in the collection of any true nihilist. The new album is a raw and response to echoes from the graveyard. A sharpened knife to perfection that will be used for the victim. That's how I perceive the record. Demonic black death metal that will burn you to ashes!

Recenze/review - ENFORCED - Kill Grid (2021)

Pořád, i po více než třiceti letech poslechu tvrdé hudby, si myslím, že dobrý thrash metal musí být špinavý, neurvalý, musí smrdět potem, musí v něm být kus rebelie, zdravého vzteku. Pokud při mosh-pitu praskne nějaká ta kost, pak je vše v nejlepším pořádku. Jsou kapely, které tohle všechno poměrně úspěšně předstírají a pak jsou smečky, které mají základní principy zakódované v genech jako já. ENFORCED patří mezi vyvolené.

S americkými maniaky jsem se poprvé setkal v roce 2019 u jejich ostrého a nekompromisního alba "At the Walls". Zrovna v nějakém koutě světa řádil v televizi rozzuřený dav a deska mi byla velmi příjemnou kulisou. "Kill Grid" je logickým pokračováním věcí minulých. Thrash metal i pořádná porce crossoveru. Chlad, temnota a špína. Vše je v nejlepším pořádku. 

"Kill Grid" je deskou, která je pochopitelně inspirována starými thrashovými kapelami. Ihned mě napadají SLAYER, DEMMOLITION HAMMER, některá starší alba SEPULTURY, nověji potom úspěšní POWER TRIP nebo BLACK BREATH. Pečlivější posluchač samozřejmě najde více styčných bodů i s jinými spolky, ale v dnešní době je to pochopitelné. ENFORCED také nevymýšlejí nic nového, vezou se na vlně retro thrashe s modernějším zvukem a jejich sázka na jistotu se  více než vyplácí. Skladby mají potřebný drive, jsou divoké, vzteklé, přesně takové, jaký má dobrý thrash metal být. Občas sice kapela sklouzne do přílišného opakování, songy jsou na můj vkus až moc dlouhé, ale to jsou jen drobnosti. Rozhodně se nejedná jen o dobré řemeslo. Na desce naleznete spoustu zajímavých momentů, kusy nahrubo nasekané tmy, která je v současném světě tolik častá. Pokud budete mít zase jednou pocit, že se všichni kolem zbláznili a dostanete pořádnou chuť na dobrý, poctivý thrash metal s vysokým oktanovým číslem, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. ENFORCED patří k následovníkům starých časů, kteří stojí rozhodně za pozornost. Deska, která vás rozemele na prach!

Still, even after more than thirty years of listening to hard music, I think that good thrash metal must be dirty, unruly, it must stink of sweat, it must contain a piece of rebellion, healthy rage. If a bone breaks during a mosh-pit, then everything is fine. There are bands that pretend all this quite successfully, and then there are bands that have basic principles encoded in genes like me. ENFORCED is one of the chosen ones.

I first met American maniacs in 2019 on their sharp and uncompromising album "At the Walls". An angry crowd was raging on television in some corner of the world, and the record was a very pleasant backdrop for me. "Kill Grid" is a logical continuation of things of the past. Thrash metal and a good portion of crossover. Cold, darkness and dirt. Everything is fine.


"Kill Grid" is a record that is understandably inspired by old thrash bands. I immediately think of SLAYER, DEMMOLITION HAMMER, some older SEPULTURA albums, and more recently the successful POWER TRIP or BLACK BREATH. Of course, a more careful listener will find more points of contact with other associations, but nowadays it is understandable. ENFORCED also doesn't invent anything new, they ride the wave of retro thrash with a more modern sound and their bet on already proved is more than worthwhile. The songs have the necessary drive, they are wild, angry, exactly what good thrash metal should be. Sometimes the band slips into too much repetition, the songs are too long for my taste, but these are just trifles. It's definitely not just a good craft. On the record you will find a lot of interesting moments, pieces of roughly chopped darkness, which is so common in today's world. If you once again feel that everyone around you has gone crazy and you get a good taste for good, honest thrash metal with a high octane number, then don't hesitate for a moment. ENFORCED is one of the followers of old times who is definitely worth for attention. An album that will grind you to dust!

Zima se vrátila. Spousta tvých kamarádů umrzla. Ve špíně bitev, během nekonečných pochodů, plynem, který jim pronikl skrz masku na obličeji. Viděl si tolik hrůzy, tolik smrti, musíš jít dál. Už ani nevíš proč. Vyčerpaný, zničený, s krvácivým kašlem, zabíjíš dál. Už je ti všechno jedno, na povrch vylezly ty nejtemnější pudy. Stal si se bestií, strojem na zabíjení. Děsíš se vlastního stínu, tolik bolesti, tolik beznaděje. Války se už nikdy nezbavíš. Je tvojí součástí, noční můrou.

Nepíšu teď o opravdové válce, ale o death black metalovém útoku na naše mozky. Německá kapela DEATH CHAMBER se svoji prvotinou působí jako poslové smrti. Nekompromisní, surový, syrový, smrtící kov, opravdu nejvíc připomíná veškeré nechutnosti zvrácených bitev. Smrdí zkaženou krví!


DEATH CHAMBER na vás zaútočí podobným stylem jako VOMITORY, NILE, BENEDICTION, CUT UP, MORBID ANGEL, DIVINE HERESY. Ocitnete se ve špinavých zákopech jedné ze světových válek. Temná a chladná atmosféra skladeb vás doslova uhrane, přikove ke zdi a vyrve vám vnitřnosti z těla. "Experiments in Warfare" je bestiální, neklidnou a zběsilou jízdou, s parádním zvukem, stylovým obalem a spoustou zajímavých nápadů. Nekompromisní riffy, chorobami nasáklý vokál, bicí, které vám rozdrtí všechny kosti v těle, to jsou hlavní atributy nahrávky. Songy obsahují zdravou, poctivou naštvanost a vztek, které vždy k dobrému death metalu patřili, jako k mrtvému vyděšený výraz v obličeji. Tohle je válečný metal, se vším, co k tomu patří. Nakumulovaná agresivita, přetavená ve smrtící koktejl. Divoká a neurvalá  odpověď na všechny hnusné války světa. Zima se vrátila. Spousta tvých kamarádů umrzla. Někde tam vepředu na mě možná čeká střelec, který dobře zamíří na moje srdce. Než se tak ale stane, budu poslouchat desku dál. Má v sobě vše potřebné pro skvělý death metalový zážitek. Absolutní bestiální masakr! Skvěle!

Winter is back. Many of your friends have frozen over. In the dirt of battle, during endless marches, the gas that penetrated the mask on their faces. You've seen so much horror, so much death, you have to keep going. You don't even know why any more. Exhausted, devastated, with a bleeding cough, you keep killing. You don't care, the darkest instincts have climbed to the surface. You became a beast, a killing machine. You are afraid of your own shadow, so much pain, so much hopelessness. You will never get rid of war again. It's part of you, a nightmare.

I'm not writing about a real war now, but about a death black metal attack on our brains. The German band DEATH CHAMBER acts as a messenger of death with their first film. Uncompromising, raw, death metal, really the most reminiscent of all the disgust of perverted battles. It stinks of rotten blood!


DEATH CHAMBER will attack you in a similar style as VOMITORY, NILE, BENEDICTION, CUT UP, MORBID ANGEL, DIVINE HERESY. You find yourself in the dirty trenches of one of the world wars. The dark and cold atmosphere of the songs will literally enchant you, anchor you to the wall and snatch your entrails from your body. "Experiments in Warfare" is a bestial, restless and frantic ride, with great sound, stylish cover and lots of interesting ideas. Uncompromising riffs, disease-soaked vocals, drums that crush all the bones in your body are the main attributes of the recording. The songs contain healthy, honest anger and rage, which have always belonged to good death metal, like a dead scared expression on the dead. This is war metal, with everything that goes with it. Accumulated aggression, transformed into a deadly cocktail. A wild and erratic response to all the hideous wars of the world. Winter is back. Many of your friends have frozen over. In the dirt of battle, during endless marches, the gas that penetrated the mask on their faces. I keep going and listening to "Experiments in Warfare" over and over again. Somewhere in front, a shooter may be waiting for me, aiming well at my heart. But before that happens, I'll keep listening to the record. It has everything you need for a great death metal experience. An absolute bestial massacre! Great!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

‘Death Chamber’ is a straightforward Death Metal band from Munich, Germany. Besides the force, evoked by driving riffs and double bass/blast beat massacre, our music draws much of it’s power from Pat’s large vocal range. Guitarist Tim started the project in 2018. After having written and recorded three demo songs, each with a different local metal vocalist, he ended up with Pat from ‘The Course is Black’. Thereupon Pat started to write lyrics for our debut ‘Experiments in Warfare’, which deals with problems of our society, wrapped up in a war theme. In search of other collaborators Tim encountered Immanuel from the likewise Munich based Extreme Metal band ‘Chokehold Policy’. The mutual appreciation for their projects led to Immanuel joining ‘Death Chamber’ on bass.


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The instrumental part was mainly recorded at Tim’s home studio. He also programmed the drums and forwarded the demos to Patrick. The vocals for the demos were recorded at Pat’s home. After reviewing the records, they were sent to Michael from ‘Sick of Sound’ studios for mixing and mastering. Michael is specialized in Death Metal production and we found the perfect ‘Death Chamber’ sound thanks to him. Pat also recorded the vocals for the debut there.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

We wanted to try out something different, so we decided to release this debut on vinyl and digitally. The vinyl is limited to 100 copies in bloodred and includes a bonus track that will be only available on the physical copy. The digital version will be released on 23rd of April via ‘Dead Center Productions’.


Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Tim mentioned from the very beginning, that this release will be definitely war themed. So they agreed on that the lyrics will definitely play a big role and will also be war themed. So Pat decided to put the feeling, which he has gotten from listening to the instrumental versions of the song into a lyrical context. They especially cover problems and situations everyone may feel or be part in at any time, packed in a war theme. Also economic situation and overwhelming emotions, that may come with big confrontations, are also part the lyrical concept. They were written mostly in the middle of the night, so that there was nothing that could have disturbed him during the writing process. Pat has written all of the lyrics by himself.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The logo was created by the very talented Swedish artist William Fotenau, a friend of Tim. Pat transferred the lyrical world into the chaotic war scene, displayed on the front cover. Immanuel was responsible for design and photographic realization of the back cover.

Social networks or social media are extremely important for each artist in these times. Without there is barely a chance that you will get a broad audience for the art you created. This won’t change in the near future. Right now we don’t have a website, but we try to put our effort into Bandcamp and our social media channels. This is really not an easy topic.


Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

This is something special for us, because in this case ‘Dead Center Productions’ contacted us after we released our first single. Due to Pat’s thorough research, we came to the decision, that ‘Dead Center Productions’ and ‘Death Chamber’ would be a perfect fit. As a logical consequence we signed in March 2021. So far, we are pleased to see, how eager our label is to support and promote our progression. We are stoked to see how things will be after the release of our debut.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Immanuel entered the path of heavy music with ‘Guns N Roses’ and ‘Metallica’. Although having broaden his musical spectrum with bands like ‘Soilent Green’, ‘Himsa’, ‘1349’ and ‘Meshuggah’, the echos of the old heroes are still strong. Pat started his musical path with bands like ‘Disturbed’, ‘Korn’ and ‘Children of Bodom’ after some time he drew a lot of influence from a variety of bands like ‘Scar Symmetry’, ‘The Black Dahlia Murder’ and ‘Whitechapel’. Right now he can’t even tell how much different bands are inspiring him in each kind of way. Tim also entered the path of heavier music with ‘Metallica’. Now he takes all his inspiration from bands like ‘Vomitory’, ‘Fear Factory’, ‘Dying Fetus’ and ‘Cut Up’.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

We slowly started to plan, which labels we could have sent our record to, but right before we started, ‘Dead Center Productions’ already contacted us.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

Death Chamber is still in a early stage of being a band. We just started, so we cannot look back at any live appearances yet. We really would like to, but there is a pandemic going on, which makes it impossible to play in front of an audience right now. We will play gigs or festivals in the future, but we will see where this will be going.


What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Actually, we can’t wait to perform our stuff live. So we strongly hope, that the whole corona thing might come to an end anytime soon and people can experience our music live. Until then we put much effort in connecting with people via our social media channels. One highlight to be mentioned is our first visualizer video, which premieres on March 31st via Death Metal Promotion on YouTube. So be sure to mark the date with an inverted cross in your calendar!

Výkřiky trpících, jejich rozšklebené tváře. Mrazí vás v zádech, ale jen to té doby, než zjistíte, že se v kotli vaří shnilé duše hříšníků. Peklo opravdu existuje, hluboko pod zemí, v tajemných chodbách. Polští death blackeři BAALBERITH vás tam vezmou na návštěvu. Stačí se zasnít u jejich nové desky. Nasát její prašivou atmosféru. Otevřít staré, mokvající rány a na plno se oddat stínům.

Neumím psát o muzice obyčejně. Kopírovat suchá fakta mě nebaví, hudba mě musí inspirovat. Drásat mě, hlodat jako zlý červ ve vnitřnostech. Poláci tohle všechno umí na výbornou. Poslouchat "Manhunt" je jako se dívat na obraz šílenství v morbidní galerii. Malíř, také rozjitřený, nahlédl do zákoutí, o kterých nechcete raději vědět. Přesto se prvotina BAALBERITH velmi dobře poslouchá. Je jako pomalu působící jed, který se vám usadí v žilách i mozku.


Při poslechu "Manhunt" si člověk zavzpomíná na staré evropské i americké kapely, ale také se po několika setkáních s deskou ztratí ve spletitých chodbách podzemí. Polští maniaci neobjevují nic nového, hrají klasicky, tradičně, přesto mě jejich tvorba baví. Je to vlastně jako vždycky. Sednu si, přidám  hlasitost a nechám na sebe album působit. A u BAALBERITH se cítím úplně stejně, jako když se mi jednou zanítila stará rána. Mokvající vřed tepal a pálil, až do doby, než byl proříznut ostrým skalpelem. Nová deska má v sobě stejné chvění, tlak a temnou energii. Samozřejmě, pohybujeme se pořád v hlubokém, ošklivém a nečistém undergroundu. Mám to tahle stejně nejraději. Ostré riffy, které vám rozedřou tvář do krve. Spousta špíny, chladu. Jakoby vás někdo zavřel do staré kobky, nedával vám několik dní jíst a vy byste měli vidiny. Stali byste se jednou tváří v hořícím kotli. Padlou duší, odsouzenou k věčnému utrpení. Songy gradují, Satan se směje na svém trůnu. Peklo určitě existuje, black death metal v podání BAALBERITH je toho jasným důkazem. Inferno!

Obraťte kříže směrem dolů! Zapalte svíce a otevřete staré hroby. BAALBERITH jsou zde! Letos přicházejí s albem, které je přesnou definicí samotného pekla. Kombinace starého deathu, blacku a občasné ledové chvilky jsou doplněny absolutní tmou. Pokud hledáte marně svůj vlastní hrob, tak jste ho právě našli. "Manhunt" je přesně tím druhem magické desky, která vás uhrane navěky. Při poslechu jsem ukřižovaný hlavou dolů, umučený, jako při posledním soudu. Mám pocit, že apokalypsa nastane každou chvíli. Zlo má mnoho podob a jednou z nich je nová deska BAALBERITH. Kozlí hlava, nabodnutá na kůlu, ke mně promlouvá neznámým jazykem. Jsme všichni dávno prokletí. Umíráme v nekonečných křečích a jako soundtrack k celé scenérii nám hrají polští raraši. Old school death/black metalová nahrávka, která vás spálí na popel! Inferno!

Turn all the crosses upside down! Light up the candles and open old graves. BAALBERITH is here! This year they are coming with their new album which is the exact definition of the Hell. A combination of the old death, black metal and sometimes the icy moments are mixed with an absolute darkness. If you search for your own grave, there it is. "Manhunt" is the exact type of a magic album which will bedevil you forever. When I listen to this album I´m crucified upside down, torture to death like during the Last Judgement. I feel like the Apocalypse is near and it´s going to be here any minute. The evil has a lot of forms and the new album by BAALBERITH is one of them. Goatish head jabbed on a pale speaks to me with an unknown language. All of us are cursed long time ago. Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Baalberith is a death metal band from Płock with black metal influences here and there. The band was founded in 2015.


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

We recorded the material in "Garaż studio". Mateusz Szulborski was responsible for the sound, mastering and mixes and also recording of the whole material.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

As far as we know, 300 CDs plus T-shirts are to be released in the first batch. No other medium is planned, at least for now.


Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Left, the vocalist, is responsible for the lyrics. The lyrics are inspired by serial killers and their mischiefs. They are all about murder, murderers, victims, pain and torture. Left has strange interests ;)

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Baalberith logo was created by our guitarist, Silentstorm, Maciej Kamuda was responsible for the entire graphic design of the CD who, in my opinion is one of the best persons creating graphic content for metal bands. We do not have a website as such, we are available on social media, and more specifically only on Facebook. Who said is it needed and important? It is definitely aids, however it's hard not to be there nowadays.


Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We decided to go to Godz Ov War and we are very happy about it. We know what brand in the metal world this name represents. As for the question, how did the cooperation come about? Well, the classic path. We had the material, we sent it to a label, they decided to release us. They offered the terms that we agreed to.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Each of the Baalberith members could possibly have differen answer to this question . I (Left) am a devoted fan of metal music as a whole in general, except maybe Nu and Power metal sounds. My mind is open to many different genres as well, sometimes a bit sour jazz, sometimes something more classical. Music is inspirational in itself.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

We shipped the album to several labels, but as soon as we found out that Godz wants us, we didn't wait too long for the rest of the answers.


How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

We did some concerts in our city, then we had a mini tour (Necro Crew Attack) around a few Polish cities with the bands Varnheim (with whom we share 2 members) and Concatenation. In the meantime, at the invitation of friends from Lublin, we went to play in this city for their Thrash Attack Lublin. I think it was the best concert so far.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Future plans with the team? These days, it's hard to plan a rehearsal, let alone other things. We create new material, wait for everything to return to relative normality and play metal.

Příběh dvoustý devadesátý druhý - Zpátky v ringu

Jeden úder střídá druhý a vůbec to nevypadá jako v akčních filmech z videokazet. Každá rána mě ukrutně bolí a to mám hodně natrénováno. Já vím, o sportu příliš nepíšu, ale stále je mojí součástí. Zatímco ostatní vyspávají včerejší opice, běhám po parku a dávám si do těla. Chodím dvakrát týdně na tréninky. Karate mě už přestalo bavit, protože se tam pořád nacvičovaly sestavy, ale nic z toho. Oddíl kick-boxu vznikl u normálního boxu. Zpočátku vůbec nikdo nevěděl, co a jak, ale učili jsme se za běhu. Bylo to jako se vším, někdo jel do Prahy a tam po zápase kecal s někým v hospodě. Jak se otevřely hranice, tak se k nám dostala spousta nových sportů.

Byla to svým způsobem rasovina, ale jinak je box krásnej sport. Musíte u něj přemýšlet, hodně používat taktiku, rozložit síly. Lidi si většinou myslí, že je to jen mlácení do hlavy, ale není to pravda. Dodnes se divím, že není u nás rozšířenější. Ale jak známo, Čechy jsou specifická země, to víme všichni. Tenhle borec mě dal hodně zabrat. Je z Ústí a býval hodně dobrej v boxu. Jeho ruce jsou jako dvě kobry, mám co dělat, abych se chránil. Pak dám ale kopačku a je po všem. V tom mám zase výhodu já. Nakonec jsem vyhrál na body. Super, vítězství je v kapse a kvalifikace na turnaj v Praze taky. Mám obličej od krve, rozsekl mi obočí. Jak jinak. Ale jsem spokojenej. Můj trenér se kick-box taky učí, je jen pár lekcí přede mnou, ale poplácá mě po ramenou a můžu jít.

Pivko v hospodě mi udělá dobře. Všichni na mě ale koukají jako na rváče. To jsem nikdy nebyl. Vždycky jsem se jenom bránil. Na sídlišti jsem dostal tolikrát do huby, že jsem přestal s volejbalem (tam se změnil trenér a spoluhráči, už mě to nebavilo) a začal před lety s karate. To je taky krásnej sport, jen jsem měl pocit, že je odtrženej od reality. Od ulice. Já potřeboval vyplavit adrenalin, nabít se energií. Navíc jsem netušil, jak je box rajcovní pro holky. Asi dávný pudy, nevím. Připadal jsem si jako Hemingway. Zrovna jsem jej hodně četl a stylizace byla zcela jasná. Některé knížky má parádní, jiné jsem nedočetl. Každopádně ty, které obdivuji v sobě mají stejnou vášeň jako box. Jdeme domů a Markétka je pěkně divoká. Asi se jí líbila zpocená těla mezi provazy. Chápu ji. 

Postupně jsem se zlepšoval. Bylo to s podivem, protože jsem k tomu samozřejmě pil pivo, kouřil a chodil na mejdany. Ale mladý tělo si poradilo. Bylo to hodně o vůli. Jako všechno. Nebyl jsem nikdy buldok, který  se zakousne a bojuje jako buldozer, spíš jsem se snažil přemýšlet, zvyšovat svoji rychlost a techniku. Fyzicky jsem byl na vrcholu. Dnes nechápu, jak jsem to vlastně mohl vydržet, ale tenkrát jsem se na každý nový zápas hrozně těšil. Už jsem si prošel několika výprasky od silnějších a starších borců. Naučil jsem se prohrávat a přesto neztratil nadšení. To je hrozně důležité. Každý ví, že bojovník musí mít hlavně velké srdce. Je to jako se vším a zrovna v tomhle akční filmy nekecaly. Chodil jsem na tréninky a pak rovnou k Hymrům, kde už všichni byli.

Moc se zezačátku nevědělo, jak vlastně cvičit a tak jsem se učil normálně box a k tomu kopal jako karatista. Informace se k nám dostávaly pomalu. Trenér ale jednou sehnal videokazetu s nějakým amíkem a já si ji nechal nakopírovat. Byl jsem překvapenej, jak ten maník bojuje, úplně jinej styl, kterej jsme dělali. Okoukal jsem některé kopy, značně jsem přitvrdil a díky tomu vyhrál několik dalších zápasů. Ostatní totiž tu kazetu ještě neviděli. Jsem pravák, ale měl jsem skvělou levou nohu. Pozůstatky z karate. Další rány do hlavy, nosil jsem ale helmu, chrániče na zuby, zase takovej hrdina jako ostatní jsem nebyl. Bylo hrozně krásný vyhrávat. Až do jednoho zápasu v Praze. Nastoupil proti mě asi o deset kilo těžší vazoun. Díval se jak rotvajler a byla v něm zloba. To je vždycky špatně. Bojovat se má s chladnou hlavou.

První tři kola jsem měl co dělat, abych jeho nápor vykryl. Unavil se vlastně sám. Nadával mi, ale já se nenechal vyprovokovat. Byl to chlápek z ulice, bylo znát, že se umí rvát a s klidem by vyházel hospodu. Akorát byl hrozně neohrabanej. Takový monstrum, ze kterýho jde strach. V jednom momentě se odkryl a i když už jsem měl celej obličej od krve, uviděl jsem skulinu a svoji příležitost. Kopl jsem. Vykryl mě a uklouzla mi noha. Kopl jsem ho, vlastně omylem, přímo do ledvin. Zhroutil se na zem a já šel k němu. Pomohl jsem mu na nohy a on se na mě díval jako raněný zvíře. Z ocelového muže byl najednou klučina, co měl strach. Ihned ho odvezli do nemocnice a o ledvinu přišel. Hrozně jsem si to vyčítal. Byl za ním několikrát na návštěvě.

Nikdy mi nic neřekl, ale pro mě to bylo něco hroznýho. Z krásnýho sportu byla najednou povinnost. Bál jsem se praštit, což je samozřejmě vždycky špatně. Trenér mě víceméně odepsal a doporučil mi, abych navštívil psychologa. Na to jsem ale neměl vůbec náladu. Trénoval jsem dál, ale na zápasy už nechodil. Byl jsem mimo a do ringu jsem se vrátil už jen třikrát. Pokaždé kvůli penězům. Tenkrát to šlo, nikdo nedělal s licencemi takový problémy. Kick-box teprve začínal. Kdyby ho dělalo tolik lidí jako dnes, žádný úspěchy bych asi ani neměl, ale nás bylo jen pár. Znali jsme se navzájem, byli kamarádi. V ringu jsme si dali do držky, ale jinak spolu chodili na pivko, kecali, smáli se. A mě pak jednou ujela noha. Nemělo se to stát a pronásledovalo mě to několik let. Už jsem se nechtěl prát. Jenom v sebeobraně.

Když jsem odešel do Plzně, ještě jsem zkoušel zpočátku hledat oddíl, kde bych mohl trénovat, ale počáteční nadšení, jako na začátku, už jsem nikdy neměl. Ono jde v závěru vždycky o lidi. Dobrá parta je základ, musíte mít nadšení nejen vy, ale i vaši spolubojovníci. Bojové sporty mi daly ale jednu úžasnou věc. Sebekázeň. Ovládání. Píšu o tom pořád. Cítil jsem se jako starej indián. Čest, fair play. Věci, které mi dnes občas chybí. Nechci ale být starý morous, co vzpomíná na staré časy a myslí si, že všechno bylo kdysi lepší. To není samozřejmě pravda. Ale je fakt, že optikou mládí jsem byl pořád ten kluk z ulice, co nadšeně stavěl merkura, lízal vitacit, válčil s vedlejším vchodem. A bylo úplně jedno, jestli jsem pak začal poslouchat metal nebo se pral v ringu. Byla to pro mě čest, být součástí společenství mladých nadšených kick boxerů. Už dávno nejsem rychlej, ale rána mi zůstala. Sice už nedám takový dělo, ale jen tak se nedám. Pořád bojuju dál. Jako Hemingway, jako akční hrdinové. 

Vize je taková, že každou neděli vyjde jeden příběh (pokud mi do toho tedy něco nevleze). Všechny pak budou postupně doplňovány zde (pravý sloupec na stránkách):

Recenze/review - THE CROWN - Royal Destroyer (2021)

Nic už není jako dřív. Svět se mění každým dnem. Nevím, jestli k lepšímu, poslední dobou o tom pochybuji, ale jistý jsem si s jednou věcí. Švédští THE CROWN poslední roky zrají jako dobrá whisky. Letos přicházejí s novým, nabroušeným a pořádně zběsilým albem. Opět se jedná o tsunami, která po sobě zanechává jenom spoušť a zničenou zemi.

Kapela si stále zachovává zdravou naštvanost. Schválně, zkuste se chvilku dívat večer na zprávy, uvidíte, že vám "Royal Destroyer" přijde k duhu. Deska je hodně nahlas, má v sobě rebelii, neurvalost a spoustu severských chladným melodií. 


Někdy mám pocit, že Satan už dávno usedl na svůj trůn a vládne nám krutě a nespravedlivě. Je našeptávačem, tichým stínem v davu, který burcuje k násilí. Deska "Royal Destroyer" má v sobě všechny atributy pro to, abych se k ní neustále vracel. Velké množství zajímavých momentů, jednou je neklidná, šílená, pak zase studená a temná. Tuna emocí, doslova narvaných ve skladbách, k tomu opět parádní obal, tohle všechno dělá z novinky velmi dobrou záležitost k poslechu. THE CROWN vám hodí do ksichtu kus mraženého masa, proklejí vás, cedí mezi zuby dlouho kumulovaný a zastíraný vztek. Melodický death metal se zde potkává s thrashem a v některých momentech má až grindovou atmosféru. Švédi vás vykostí, vyvrhnou vaše vnitřnosti a obětují je temným silám. Mám rád hudbu, která má v sobě drive, sílu, vnitřní pnutí, která je přímým úderem na solar plexus. U minulé nahrávky jsem psal něco o bouři, o smršti, která nelze zastavit. U nového alba mám podobný intenzivní pocit. Vyzdvihnout musím i skvělý Johanův hlas, je přesně tím druhem vokálu, který povyšuje hudbu do jiných sfér. Pro mě je nakonec nejdůležitější to, že chci "Royal Destroyer" stále poslouchat dokola, stává se postupně i mojí součástí, řvu do větru, proklínám celý zkažený svět, chci strhnout všechny falešné modly. Studený, mrazivý melodický death metal, který vás sežehne pekelným plamenem! Vynikající zásek!

Nothing is the same as before. The world is changing every day. I don't know if it's for the better, I've been doubting it lately, but I'm sure of one thing. Swedish THE CROWN has been maturing like a good whiskey in recent years. This year they are coming up with a new, sharpened and really frantic album. Again, this is a tsunami that leaves behind only a trigger and a ruined earth.

The band still keep a healthy upset. Try to watch the news for a while in the evening, you will see that the "Royal Destroyer" will come to you a rainbow. The record is very loud, it has rebellion, rudeness and a lot of Nordic cool melodies.


Sometimes I feel that Satan has long since sat on his throne and is ruling us cruelly and unjustly. He is a whisperer, a silent shadow in the crowd roaring against violence. The album "Royal Destroyer" has all the attributes for me to keep coming back to it. A large number of interesting moments, once it is restless, crazy, then cold and dark again. A ton of emotions, literally full of songs, again a great cover, all this makes the new album very good thing to listen to. THE CROWN throws a piece of frozen meat into your face, curses you, strains the long-accumulated and veiled rage between your teeth. Melodic death metal meets thrash here and in some moments has a grind atmosphere. The Swedes will bone you, expel your insides and sacrifice them to the dark forces. I like music that has drive, power, internal tension in it, which is a direct blow to the solar plexus. In the last recording, I wrote something about a storm, a storm that can't be stopped. I have a similarly intense feeling with the new album. I must also highlight Johan's great voice, it is exactly the kind of vocal that elevates music to other spheres. In the end, the most important thing for me is that I want to listen to the "Royal Destroyer" all the time, it gradually becomes a part of me, I roar into the wind, I curse the whole corrupt world, I want to tear down all the false idols. Cold, frosty melodic death metal that will burn you with a hellish flame! Excellent matter!

"Démoni vylézají z děr": začalo se šířit mezi lidmi. Najednou všichni chodili se sklopenou hlavou a pospíchali, aby byli rychle doma. V noci se ulicemi ozývalo podivné vytí. Vyděšené oči, neustálý pocit, že vás někdo sleduje. V některých případech to byla pravda. To potom nacházeli ráno vykuchané mrtvoly, pohozené mezi popelnicemi. Pach smrti, rituály, které normální člověk nepochopí. Bestie, zrůda, šílenec. Nakonec byl vrahem, jak už tomu bývá, malý neurotický chlápek, považovaný za tichošlápka.

Stejně jako je někdy lidský život hnusný a ohavný, tak je ošklivá i hudba indonéských maniaků DETRITIVOR. Tentokrát v klasickém, tradičním gardu. Nebývám na to u kapel z jejich země zvyklý, většinou se jedná o brutální slammové záležitosti. Kluci se ale drží základních krvavých kořenů a jde jim to moc dobře. 


DETRITIVOR prošli  mým hrubým sítem kapel, o kterých se rozhodnu, že budu psát. Nejsou samozřejmě dokonalí, třeba zvuk bych si dovedl představit průraznější, temnější, masivnější. Skladby jsou také jak vystřižené z pera takových veličin jako MALEVOLENT CREATION, DEICIDE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, ANASARCA, DIVINE EMPIRE, ale nijak mi to nevadí. Mám to pořád celé nastavené tak, že hodnotím spíše nasazení, odhodlání a uvěřitelnost kapely, než nějaké styčné body. "Scattered Remains" je poctivě zahraným kusem death metalu, syrovým masem, hozeným do obličeje. Občas se pánové nevyhnout tomu, že songy zní trošku monotónně, ale na rovinu, takové pasáže dnes naleznete i u o hodně slavnějších jmen. Brutální obal, vše je podřízeno jedinému, rozsekat vás na malé kousky. Jedná se o undergroundovou záležitost pro sběratele kostí. I když mám lehké výhrady, tak jako celek mě album baví poslouchat, líbí se mi taková ta plesnivá patina, která se podle mého ani nedá naučit. Je zkrátka znát, že DETRIVITOR moc dobře ví, o čem hrají. A dělají to se zručností a nadšením. Koneckonců, ven už nikdo nevychází, všichni se bojí bestií. Démoni vylezli z děr a lační po krvi. Devastující death metal, který vás svlékne z kůže!

This music twists my bowels, pushes my brain and makes my body do thing you can only imagine in your worst nightmares. I feel like the band blew my face in blood. From this album you can feel a real, true devotion to death metal. Reality meets cruelty here. Everything is played with intelligence, rawness and dirtiness in those songs. This is a ceremony to invoke death itself. Death metal bulldozer that will crush your skull! Excellent thing for all fans of morbid darkness!
