Snažíš se ukrývat ve stínu. Nasloucháš zvukům a přemýšlíš, jak utéct. Je někde tedy, ve tmě. Na lovu. Cítí pach krve a ty máš být jeho další obětí. Lidský predátor, který si uprostřed močálů vybudoval svůj vlastní svět. Krutý a ošklivý. Mrtvá těla, pohřbená všude kolem jsou toho jasným důkazem. Zohavené tváře, polámané kosti, vyděšené výrazy. Takhle vypadá opravdové peklo. Slyšíš jeho dech. Záblesk nože, jsi další na řadě, ale to už dávno víš? Nebo ne?

Troufám si tvrdit, že někde v těchto místech muselo být nahráváno i nové album "The Monoliths of Cursed Slumber" floridských death metalistů HIBERNUS MORTIS. Ti se po dlouhých 21 letech vrátili, aby nám všem předvedli, jak chutná zkažené maso. Z reproduktorů ke mě stéká špína, hnis a nekonečná bolest. Koneckonců, posuďte sami. 


Kapela, založená v roce 1996, je typickým představitelem americké smrtící školy. Jejich tvorbu můžeme s klidem zařadit po bok třeba takových DISMA, FUNEBRARUM, DRAWN AND QARTERED, INCANTATION, IMMOLATION. Pánové umí vytvořit svojí hudbou absolutně prašivou, morbidní atmosféru, která je opravdu podobná návštěvě míst, kde se staly násilné činy. Riffy jsou opravdové, kruté a surové. Vokál na mě působí jako nějaká starodávná choroba, která se vrátila, aby nás všechny zničila. Pokud stejně jako já, vyznáváte hlavně muziku ze starých pohřebišť, z márnic a patologických sálů, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Ze songů odkapává zkažená krev. K celkové ponuré a pochmurné atmosféře hodně přispívá i masivní, hutný a ostrý zvuk (bubeník a vokalista Cesar Placeres - Recording, Mixing, Mastering). S chutí se dívám i na obal, pod kterým je podepsán Chris Placeres. Opravdu povedené dílo, které přesně vyjadřuje to, co se na albu odehrává. Hnusná a ošklivá smrt. Nejvíc ale oceňuji to, jakým způsobem jsou skladby napsány. Mají v sobě velkou sílu, nakumulovaný vztek i energii, posbíranou v močálech. HIBERNUS MORTIS jsou přesně tím druhem skupiny, která se nás rozhodla zabít svojí muzikou. Za sebe musím napsat, že se jim to povedlo na výbornou. Záblesk nože, jsi další na řadě, ale to už dávno víš? Nebo ne? Ale vím, poslouchám totiž "The Monoliths of Cursed Slumber". Morbidní, temný death metal, u kterého shnijete zaživa. Amen!

You're trying to hide in the shadows. Listening to the sounds and thinking of ways to escape. He's somewhere, in the dark. On the hunt. He smells blood, and you're about to be his next victim. A human predator who has built his own world in the middle of the swamp. Cruel and ugly. The dead bodies buried all around are clear evidence of that. I dare say that somewhere in these places the new album "The Monoliths of Cursed Slumber" by Florida death metallers HIBERNUS MORTIS must have been recorded. After 21 long years they came back to show us all what rotten meat tastes like. Dirt, pus and endless pain dripping from the speakers. After all, you can judge for yourself.


The band, founded in 1996, is a typical representative of the American school of death. Their work can be easily placed alongside such bands as DISMA, FUNEBRARUM, DRAWN AND QARTERED, INCANTATION, IMMOLATION. With their music, the gentlemen can create an absolutely filthy, morbid atmosphere, which is really similar to visiting places where violent acts happened. The riffs are real, cruel and raw. The vocals strike me as some ancient disease that has come back to destroy us all. If, like me, you are a fan of music from old burial grounds, morgues and pathology halls, don't hesitate a moment. The songs drip with rotten blood. The massive, heavy and sharp sound (drummer and vocalist Cesar Placeres - Recording, Mixing, Mastering) contributes a lot to the overall gloomy and somber atmosphere. I'm also looking with pleasure at the cover artwork, which is signed by Chris Placeres. It's a really hilarious piece of work that accurately expresses what's happening on the album. A nasty and ugly death. But what I appreciate the most is the way the songs are written. They have a lot of power, accumulated anger and energy, collected in the swamps. HIBERNUS MORTIS are exactly the kind of band that decided to kill us with their music. For myself I have to write that they succeeded perfectly. Knife flash, you're next, but you already know that. Or not? Yes, I do, because I'm listening to "The Monoliths of Cursed Slumber". Morbid, dark death metal that makes you rot alive. Amen!

Paregorik

Nejromantičtější písničky večera! Paregorik patří mezi jedince, co pochopili, že harsh noise je především o pořádně intenzivní destrukci a ne nějakých blbostech okolo. Má za sebou hraní na super akcích jako Hradby Samoty, spolupráci s Hlukovou sekcí atd. A jelikož se ve Vopici většinou hlasité hudby nebojí, určitě to tam nekompromisně zbourá!


The Tower

Je to už nějaký pátek, co vyšlo první demo The Tower a následný split s Mörkhimmel. Kapela ale stále žije, maká na nových věcech a dokonce nedávno hrála s kultovními Spiritus Mortis. V Praze vystoupí po více než půl roce a lze od ní očekávat pouze doom metal té nejvyšší kvality s kapkou psychedelie a dvěma zajímavě prolínajícími se zpěvy.


Voluptas

Voluptas před dvěma lety vydali svůj poslední studiový počin Towards the Great White Nothing, na kterém mísí severský black metal s excentrickými rockovými prvky, ale také s noisem a saxofonovými pazvuky. Od té doby zvládli dokončit materiál na nové album, které budou příští rok nahrávat. V lednu tedy kromě pár songů z TtGWN budou Voluptas prezentovat hlavně nové skladby.


Vyšehrad

Při pohledu na žánrové škatulky projektu Vyšehrad musí být jasné, odkud vítr vane. Nejde však jen o uctívání lo-fi blackových a dungeon-synth poloh Burzum, koketuje také s martial industrialem, ambientem a dalšími hudebními žánry. Díky využití různých DIY nástrojů dovede pracovat s poměrně unikátními zvuky a není náhodou, že kromě festivalu Hradby Samoty si nedávno zahrál také před kultovními Raison d'être s Brighter Death Now.


Yarrdesh

Kdo všechno ještě pamatuje na dvanáct let staré Lovce ještěrů od Yarrdeshe s Cataractem? Těžko říct, co přesně si pro nás mistr atonálního a rozlámaného bordelu přichystá tentokrát, ale víme, že kytaru nechá Yarrdesh doma a na závěr lednové tancovačky přislíbil speciální Yarrka Methallka DJ dumb set after kill.

Vám opravdu nepřipadá jeho úsměv divný? Nikdo neodpoví. Každou neděli ráno poslouchají lži, odvracejí pohledy od všeho zlého. Stačí pár slov, které chtějí slyšet a je jim odpuštěno. Faleš, přetvářka, hnis. Ano, pod honosnou výzdobou a krásnými větami se ukrývá prudký jed. Nejdříve zasáhne tvoji mysl a v některých případech i tělo. Víra je slepá a nezná slitování. Všichni jsme hříšníci. Ještě chvíli poslouchám, opravdu se snažím, ale nejde to. Obrátím kříž směrem dolů a jdu pryč. Musím si vyčistit hlavu. Poslouchám novou desku polských HOSTIA.

Masakrující death metal s velkou příměsí grindu je velmi osvěžující. Když půjdete z ranní mše, tak určitě. Jedná se o tsunami, se zajímavými texty, se zvukem, u kterého praskají kosti. Pokud vás vždycky štvaly lži a přetvářka, tak je album "Nailed" určeno i pro vás. 


Pokud, stejně jako já, volíte hudbu ve svých playlistech podle nálady, tak HOSTII budete poslouchat nejvíc v pátek, když půjdete z práce. Když uvidíte večerní zprávy, když si přečtete komentáře na internetu. Svět se možná zbláznil nebo to tak alespoň poslední dobou vypadá, ale my moc dobře víme, že je tu ještě hudba. Ta nám dá vždycky nakonec rozhřešení. Alespoň takhle vnímám novinku "Nailed" já. Základem je absolutně devastující výraz. Krátké, úderné, ale zároveň propracované songy, spousta černých, chladným momentů. V závěru připomíná nahrávka nejvíce lavinu nebo buldozer, který konečně srovná chrám plný lží a hnisu se zemí. Mám a vždycky jsem měl úctu k chytrým a hodným lidem. Ale se zlem se nevyjednává. Naopak, pokud uvidíte někde něco špatného, pusťte dotyčnému nové album přímo do ksichtu. Vymáchejte mu ksicht ve špinavé kaluži. Tohle je hudba do malých klubů, do kotle, ve kterém se točí lidé v kruhu, do moshpitu, do starých katakomb a všude tam, kde je cítit energie a tlak. Poláci jsou divocí, neurvalí, s ničím se moc nepářou. Říkají své myšlenky jasně a chytře. Možná bych ocenil víc temnějších pasáží, protože jim jdou skvěle, ale to je jen drobnost, která mi nemůže zkazit celkový zážitek. Vám opravdu nepřipadá jeho úsměv divný? Pusťte mu "Nailed", než začne zase kázat jed a lži. Zničující útok death grindové čety prokletých!

You really don't find his smile odd? No one will answer. Every Sunday morning, they listen to the lies, look away from everything bad. All it takes is a few words they want to hear and they're forgiven. Falsehood, dissimulation, pus. Yes, underneath the pomp and circumstance and the pretty phrases is a violent poison. First it hits your mind and in some cases your body. Faith is blind and has no mercy. We are all sinners. I listen for a while, I really try, but I can't. I turn the cross downwards and walk away. I have to clear my head. I'm listening to the new HOSTIA record from Poland.

Massacring death metal with a lot of grind is very refreshing. If you're coming from morning mass, definitely. It is a tsunami, with interesting lyrics, with a sound that makes your bones crack. If you've always been annoyed by lies and pretense, "Nailed" is for you too.


If, like me, you choose the music in your playlists according to your mood, you will listen to HOSTIA most on Fridays when you leave work. When you see the evening news, when you read the comments on the internet. The world may have gone crazy, or at least it seems that way lately, but we know very well that there's still music out there. It always gives us absolution in the end. At least that's how I feel about the new release "Nailed". It's based on an absolutely devastating expression. Short, punchy but sophisticated songs, lots of black, cold moments. In the end, the record most resembles an avalanche or a bulldozer that finally flattens a temple full of lies and pus. I have and always had respect for smart and good people. But you can't negotiate with evil. On the contrary, if you see something bad somewhere, drop a new album in the person's face. Wash his face in a dirty puddle. This is music for small clubs, for the cauldron where people are spinning in circles, for moshpits, for old catacombs and anywhere where you can feel the energy and pressure. The Polish guys are wild, rambunctious. They speak their minds clearly and cleverly. Maybe I would have appreciated more darker passages, because they are great, but that's just a small thing that can't spoil the overall experience for me. You really don't find his smile odd? Give him "Nailed" before he starts preaching poison and lies again. A devastating attack by the death grind squad of the damned!

Michal studoval se mnou a byl na tom stejně jako já. Na škole byl více méně kvůli rodičům. Co vím, tak se z něj nakonec stal učitel. Než aby byl strojař, tak si raději udělal pedagogické minimum. Byl pro mě vždy kamarádem, se kterým jsme si v knihách sedli asi nejvíce. Rádi jsme si doporučovali různé tituly. Znáte to, mládí, člověk objevuje, je plný dojmů, svět je jednou velkou neznámou. Ještě má v sobě takovou tu krásnou naivitu, která jej tlačí kupředu. Nerezignoval, není ohlodaný zklamáním a životem. Jak říkám, shodli jsme se skoro na všech knihách. Akorát básně, ty mi nikdy nic neříkaly. Michal mi nosil různé sbírky, ale málokdy jsem se dokázal začíst. Dokonce jsem byl párkrát pozván i na živé čtení od holek z pedagogické fakulty. Jednou jsem byl vykázán, protože jsem se smál. Básníkům, kteří přednášeli své výtvory a drželi se u toho za srdce, jsem nevěřil. Připadali mi podivní, ve svých šálách a dlouhých kabátech. 

Jsou ale spisovatelé, rozervaní a uvěřitelní, které mám rád. Třeba Karel Hynek Mácha nebo Karel Jaromír Erben, ty jsem obdivoval už na základce. Dokonce jsme s kamarády navštívili Máchův kraj (pojďme po jeho stopách, řekli jsme si...), který je kousek od Boleslavi. Ve chvílích, když mi bylo hodně špatně a potácel jsem se v temnotách, oslovil mě Francois Villon, ten se mi kupříkladu tak zadřel pod kůži, že jsem jej předříkával dívkám, které jsem měl rád. To bylo v dobách, kdy jsem se pokoušel sám psát nějaké verše. Jsou příliš osobní a intimní a nikdy nespatřily světlo světa. Jsou a navěky budou uloženy v mém soukromém archívu. Jenom vybraní jedinci, kterým věřím a mám je rád, mohou nahlédnout. Všichni říkají, že jsou skvělé, ale já nevím, trošku se stydím. Pokaždé, když je čtu, tak mám pocit, že se řežu žiletkou do ruky. A právě to samé jsem cítil i u veršů Václava Hraběte.

Tolik citu, bolesti, něhy, krásy, čistoty a opravdovosti. Zemřel mladý a je považován za jediného opravdového představitele beat generation u nás. Možná ani nevíte, že jej znáte. Jeho básně často používal jako texty ve svých písních vynikající Vladimír Mišík. Mám doma jeden ohmataný výtisk. Pokaždé, když na mě jdou chmury a potřebuji se schoulit do sebe, tak si sednu do kouta a čtu si. Jednotlivé sloky plynou, jsem na ně napojen. Připadá mi, že přesně vím, o kom a o čem Václav Hrabě psal. Jeho dílo je načichlé takovým tím dobrým jazzem a cítit je i blues. Ten opravdový, který se u nás hrál v šedesátých letech. Jako asi každý dobrý básník neměl lehký život. Byl rozervaný na kusy, snil, jeho fantazie neměla hranice. Miluju melancholické pasáže. Obzvlášť teď, když je venku sychravo, přijdu s manželkou z lesů a chlad máme zalezlý hluboko v kostech, tak se mi všechno spojí v jedno. 

Nevím, jak vzniká dar být básníkem. Asi musí mít autor hodně odžito. A to Václav Hrabě i přes svůj krátký život měl. Jinak by nemohl napsat třeba: "Pro dělníky kteří dláždili ulici mé lásky...“. Těch citátů bych samozřejmě mohl uvést spoustu, ale myslím si, že zrovna u tohoto autora je nejlepší číst jeho díla vcelku, nejlépe na jeden zátah. Alespoň tak jsem to dělal já a osvědčilo se mi to. Napoprvé v kuse a pak po částech, vracel jsem se, neustále přemýšlel a někdy se i nad tou vší krásou dojímal. Hergot ano, já, kterému připadá většina básníků nudná a předvídatelná, já, který považuje za vrchol tohoto literárního stylu Bukowského, sedávám v koutě a mám vlhké oči. Možná ale jenom vím, o čem píše. A je mi jasné, že s básníky není lehké žít. U Václava Hraběte, který si dle mého soukromého názoru hraje se slovy podobně jako moji miláčkové Vančura a Hrabal, si vždy říkám, jaká je čeština krásný jazyk. Přirovnal bych své pocity k něčemu tak prostému a nádhernému, jako je průzračná voda. Skoro se v ní bojíte umýt, ale pak se napijete a musíte někomu oznámit, že jste právě ochutnali manu nebeskou.

Já vím, já vím. Píšu dnes o těžké literatuře, která chce čas. Hodně času. Ten dnes lidé nemají. To víte, musí sledovat nekonečné seriály, neustále dokola dávat lajky totálním hovadinám. Zábava na první dobrou, pro první signální soustavu. Ale jasně, že já se taky rád podívám na akční film nebo hezkou ženskou. Jenže mám i chvíle, kdy mi chybí něco noblesnějšího, vznešenějšího, něco, co mi zaplní prázdná místa v hlavě. Brzy budou vánoce. Lidé blázní a jsou ve stresu. Co takhle se na chvilku zastavit, zavolat těm, které máte rádi, setkat se s nimi a nebo si přečíst Blues pro bláznivou holku? Přemýšleli jste někdy o tom, jak si vlastně některé autory oblíbíme? Protože nám mají co říct, protože jsou na stejné vlně? Nevím, netuším. Ale co mohu podepsat vlastní krví je, že Václav Hrabě mě bude provázet až do konce mých dní. Děkuji za pozornost a opatrujte se.

Duše prokletých naříkají bolestí. Navěky se toulají mezi naším a oním světem. V nekonečné nicotě. Vždycky jsem přemýšlel, jakým způsobem se dostávají do podobných zlých stavů. Přišel jsem na dva zřejmé důvody. Jednak se museli účastnit nějakého starodávného krvavého rituálu a nebo musely poslouchat nahrávky, jako je ta od LUCIFERION. Ti se vracejí po čtyřech letech, aby nám znovu ukázali, o čem je absolutní tma.

Základem je tradiční, morbidní death metal, přidávána je black metalová atmosféra. Jako bych seděl u jednoho stolu se všemi démony a večeřel shnilé kusy masa. "The Warlock of Da'ath" je uvěřitelnou a zničující zprávou z onoho světa. Umožní vám nahlédnout na druhou stranu, za špinavou řeku Styx.


Pokud bychom měli novinku přirovnat k tvorbě jiných kapel, museli bychom volit jména jako IMPIETY, ANGELCORPSE, PERDTITON TEMPLE, CENTURIAN, MORBID ANGEL, VITAL REMAINS, WATAIN. LUCIFERION mají ale také svůj jasný a zřetelný rukopis. Lze je poznat podle několika prvních tónů. Jedná se přesně o takový ten druh obřadu, ze kterého odejdete zcela zničení a budete mít pocit, že hnijete zevnitř. Začnete se postupně rozkládat, měnit se ve svůj vlastní stín. "The Warlock of Da'ath" se do mě otisklo jako rozžhavený kus železa. Pro podobné desky stále rád poslouchám tenhle styl. Chlad, temnota, krvavé seance, po kterých zůstávají duše prokletých. Pokud bych měl hodnotit i formální stránku, tak bych musel používat pouze slova chvály. Zvuk, obal, provedení, všechno je na perfektní úrovni. Není divu, ve skupině působí zkušení muzikanti z DESTROYER 666, PENTACLE. Nezbývá tedy nic jiného, než znovu a znovu otevírat dveře do starých katakomb a přijímat pozvání na rituály plné smrti, tmy a excelentního smrtícího kovu. Album mi postupně proniklo do žil, promíchalo se s mojí krví. Stalo se mojí součástí a nemohu jej hodnotit jinak, než velmi vysoko. Duše prokletých naříkají bolestí. Navěky se toulají mezi naším a oním světem. V nekonečné nicotě. Jsem jednou z nich. Pentagram hoří jasným plamenem! Okultní, ďábelská death metalová mše!

The souls of the damned wail in pain. They wander forever between this world and the otherworld. In an endless nothingness. I've always wondered how they get into such evil states. I came up with two obvious reasons. One, they must have been participating in some ancient blood ritual, or they must have been listening to records like the one by LUCIFERION. They return after four years to show us again what absolute darkness is all about.

The basis is traditional, morbid death metal, with a black metal atmosphere added. It's like sitting at the same table with all the demons and dining on rotten pieces of meat. "The Warlock of Da'ath" is a believable and devastating message from that world. It gives you a glimpse of the other side, beyond the dirty river Styx.


If we were to compare the new album to other bands, we would have to choose names like IMPIETY, ANGELCORPSE, PERDTITON TEMPLE, CENTURIAN, MORBID ANGEL, VITAL REMAINS, WATAIN. But LUCIFERION also have their clear and distinct signature. They can be recognized by the first few notes. This is exactly the kind of ceremony that you leave completely destroyed and feeling like you are rotting from the inside. You begin to gradually decompose, turning into your own shadow. "The Warlock of Da'ath" imprinted on me like a red-hot piece of iron. I still love listening to this style for records like this. The cold, the dark, the bloody seances that leave the souls of the damned. If I had to evaluate the formal side, I would have to use only words of praise. The sound, the cover, the performance, everything is at a perfect level. No surprise, the band includes experienced musicians from DESTROYER 666, PENTACLE. So there is nothing to do but to open the doors to the old catacombs again and again and accept the invitation to rituals full of death, darkness and excellent death metal. The album gradually penetrated my veins, mixed with my blood. It has become a part of me and I cannot rate it other than very highly. The souls of the damned wail in pain. They wander forever between our world and the next. In an endless nothingness. I am one of them. The pentagram burns with a bright flame! An occult, diabolical death metal mass!

INCARCERATED is a Thrash/Death Metal band emerged and based in London in 2021 by guitarist/vocalist Lander da Silva and bassist Andy Butler. Later, with the entry of lead guitarist Rafael Rojo and drummer Alberto Pesco, the line up was complete.

History

In 2021 Lander met Andy and started looking for other musicians with the purpose to create a Thrash/Death metal band influenced by bands like Slayer, Sepultura, Kreator, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse and Death. Soon, guitarist Rafael Rojo and drummer Alberto Pesco joined INCARCERATED with other influences and new ideas starting the creative process and writing songs based on Lander’s riffs.

Pre-INCARCERATED

All INCARCERATED members are experienced musicians from other bands around the world, being an international musicians band based in London.

In 2016 the Brazilian guitarist/vocalist Lander moved to Italy and then rooted in London. After his previous death metal band The Sceptic splits he joined other bands like Keelhauling and Decrepid before meet Andy Butler (ex Divine Chaos) and drummer Nikolas Zikos, who left the band after a few rehearsals. Lander and Andy straight away got in touch with a lead guitarist called Rafael Rojo. Rafael previously had a melodic death metal band in his home country of Spain called Exilium and another band after moving to New York because of work issues. Finally after a long search and many auditions INCARCERATED found Alberto Pesco, a Metal/punk drummer who had played with Apocalypse Addiction performing concerts around Europe and UK, he liked Lander riffs and promptly accepted to join the quartet.


In 2022, INCARCERATED started self-producing an EP with four songs which theme lyrics are about death, hate, judgement, religion contradictions and mind imprisonment This EP started to be recorded on the 2nd of April, in the beginning of November a single for the song Lapidation was released on streaming platforms and then the full EP with 4 songs was released in 19/11/22 self named INCARCERATED.

Artwork layout and photos were designed by Peterson Marti, Icon by Moises Alves, logotype by Ciarán Nolan, EP was produced by Incarcerated and mixed/mastered by Marc Pascual in Spain.

INCARCERATED is also planing to record it’s first full length and a first UK tour for the year of 2023.

Ležíš už několik dní na stejném místě. Máš čas na přemýšlení a také si zabil tři lidi. Neznal si je a nic si proti nim neměl. Určitě měli rodiny, přátele, jistě se rádi bavili, žili, měli své holky. Slyšíš zvuk vrtulníku. Uleví se ti. Konečně se vrátíš. Jenže, válka vždycky byla svinstvo. Zapomněli na tebe a svět za několik okamžiků zčernal. Ptáš se proč, s tváří rozežranou od napalmu.

JUST BEFORE DAWN jsou zpět a tentokrát svojí hudbou i texty popisují válku ve Vietnamu. Byla specifická, úplně jiná, než ty předešlé. Stejně jako mrazivý death metal, který tahle smečka hraje. Mám opět pocit, že jsem přímo na bojišti. V džungli, s puškou v ruce. Ledové melodie, devastující bicí, vše připomíná střelu, která proletí brzy tvým mozkem.


Kapela, složená ze samých death metalových veteránů, moc dobře ví, jak nahrát skvělé album. Novinka je toho jasným důkazem. Skladby jsou napsány velmi uvěřitelně. Zřetelný, jasný a originální Biazziho rukopis je ovlivněn švédským death metalem, ale ctí i klasické BOLT THROWER. Pro mě, starého fanouška, je vždy nejvíc důležité, abych hudbě věřil, aby se mi usadila v kostech, hluboko do mozku. A tohle umí JUST BEFORE DAWN jako vždy na výbornou. Je vlastně jedno, na jaké straně bojujete, jedinými jistotami je smrt a ryzí, opravdový a reálný smrtící kov. Moje fantazie pracuje na plné obrátky. Líbí se mi, že si kapela na nic nehraje, je svá a poznáte ji od ostatních během několika okamžiků. Nové album "Battle-Sight Zeroing" je navíc doslova návykové. Pouštím si u něj vždy staré dokumenty, trávíme spolu celé víkendy a večer, když si dám pár piv, tak vše vynikne nejlépe. Prožívám osudy hrdinů i šílených bastardů, stále mě bolí lidská krutost a špína. Jsem rád, že ještě existují lidé, kteří na válečná zvěrstva upozorňují. Neměli bychom zapomínat, události posledních měsíců jsou toho jasným důkazem. Ono je vlastně o hodně lepší nahrávku poslouchat, než o ní psát. Čekám v zákopu a poslouchám zvuky noci. Jsem vrah i oběť. Jsem voják nicoty. Vynikající záležitost! Mrazivá, temná válka v death metalové džungli!

You've been lying in the same place for days. You have time to think and you also killed three people. You didn't know them and you had nothing against them. They certainly had families, friends, they certainly liked to have fun, to live, they had their girls. You hear the sound of a helicopter. You will be relieved. You'll finally come back. But war has always been crap. They forgot about you and the world went black in a few moments. You ask why, face eaten away by napalm.

JUST BEFORE DAWN are back and this time, they describe the war in Vietnam with their music and lyrics. It was specific, completely different from the previous ones. Just like the chilling death metal that this pack plays. I feel like I'm right on the battlefield again. In the jungle, rifle in hand. Icy melodies, devastating drums, everything resembles a bullet that will soon fly through your brain.

The band, composed of death metal veterans themselves, knows very well how to record a great album. The news is a clear proof of that. The songs are written very believably. Distinct, clear and original Biazzi's signature is influenced by Swedish death metal, but also honors the classic BOLT THROWER. For me, an old fan, the most important thing is always to believe in the music, so that it settles in my bones, deep in my brain. And JUST BEFORE DAWN does this perfectly, as always. It doesn't really matter which side you fight on, the only certainties are death and pure, true and real death metal. My imagination is running at full speed. I like that the band doesn't play for anything, they are their own and you can tell them from the others in a few moments. The new album "Battle-Sight Zeroing" is also quite addictive. I always play old documents with him, we spend whole weekends together, and in the evening, when I have a few beers, everything comes out the best. I experience the fates of heroes and crazy bastards, human cruelty and filth still hurts me. I am glad that there are still people who draw attention to war atrocities. We should not forget, the events of the last months are a clear proof of this. It's actually much better to listen to a recording than to write about it. I wait in the trench and listen to the sounds of the night. I am both the murderer and the victim. I am a soldier of nothingness. Excellent matter! A cold, dark war in the death metal jungle!

Čerstvá thrash metalová drtička Hellfuck z Polska se představí poprvé v ČR spolu s Brutally Deceased a See You In Hell. V pátek 27. 1. 2023 v Plzni v divadle Pod Lampou a v sobotu 28. 1. 2023 v Brněnském Kabinetu Múz, kde zahrají navíc No God Rhetoric.

Hellfuck přijedou na konci ledna zahrát své premiérové koncerty do Čech, aby podpořili svojí aktuální desku Diabolic Slaughter, která patří k tomu nejlepšímu, co v rámci stylu za poslední roky v Evropě vyšlo. V Polsku byla vždycky silná metalová scéna a tahle smečka, v které aktuálně hrají členové takových kapel, jako jsou Embrional, Azarath, nebo Squash Bowels to jenom potvrzuje. Nekompromisní smršť kvalitních thrashových riffů, u kterých by i Hanneman zaplesal, podpořena skvělou rytmikou, slibuje thrash metalovou jízdu jako řemen. Žádná další verze veselého thrash metalu pro pubertální skejťáky, ale kurva dobře udělanej Slayer z Polska, který chceš slyšet naživo!

Další kapelou, která se na těchto lednových koncertech představí, jsou See You In Hell z Brna. Kapela, která už přes 20 let drtí poctiví crust/hardcore s temnými texty. O kvalitě SYIH v tomhle stylu nemůže být pochyb, se svojí muzikou objeli celý svět a po x letech se vrací do Plzně. Navíc mají čerstvě nahranou desku, kterou v rámci setu představí, a tak nezbývá než se těšit na nihil crust as fuck!

Brutally Deceased již tradičně po roce přivezou do divadla Pod Lampou poctivý smrtí nasáklý death metal nejvyšší kvality se švédským zvukem. Tentokrát s aktualizovaným playlistem, který kromě klasických skladeb obsahuje novinky, které se objeví na další desce.

Každý, čerstvě exhumovaný hrob vydává svoje svědectví. O bolesti, o násilí, o temnotě, o šílenství, o smrti. Stejně jako hudba, dobrý death metal. Stačí jenom pozorně poslouchat. Také cítíte pach rozkládajících se těl? Nářek nemrtvých. Atmosféra musí být morbidní, nálady pochmurné a krev zkažená. Myslím, že dnes jsem si vybral dobře. Hrobka se jménem NUCLEAR CHRIST je přesně taková, jakou ji mám nejraději. Shnilá, plesnivá, s dřevěnými rakvemi.

Kapela pochází z Floridy a Miami. Letos nám předkládá album, které by nemělo chybět ve sbírce žádného fanouška klasické, morbidní smrti. Pokud jste jako já vyrůstali v devadesátých letech minulého století a tehdejší smečky dodnes uctíváte, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Dostanete poctivou porci nahrubo nasekaného masa. Smrdí zkažeností a je plné červů. Přesně takhle to máme rádi. Poslouchejte ozvěny ze záhrobí!


Už několik let jsem neviděl světlo, už spoustu dní žiju jenom v temnotě. Potkávám pouze duše nemrtvých a poslouchám hudbu zahranou hluboko v podzemí. "Twisted Idols for Nihilism" jsem si ihned zařadil do své diskografie. Prosévám mezi prsty prach, setkávám se s nemrtvými. Neustále přidávám hlasitost. Líbí se mi totiž tradiční, syrový zvuk, obdivuji pekelný obal a užívám si všechny nápady, kterých je na albu velké množství. Kývám spokojeně hlavou, podupávám si do rytmu. Beru do ruky lopatu a kopu další hrob. Dělám to pokaždé, když se setkám s reálnou, poctivou smrtící hudbou. Neposlouchám jenom ušima, ale i srdcem. NUCLEAR CHRIST se stali na dlouhou dobu mými průvodci v Hádově říši. Našlapuji tiše a pod nohama mi praskají prašivé kosti. Lebky se smějí do zdánlivého ticha. Mlha má zase jednou barvu krve a vzduch je těžký a zkažený. Tohle je hudba pro silné jedince, pro všechny pravověrné. Poklekněte a skloňte hlavu. Smrt je najednou velmi blízko. Hrobka se jménem NUCLEAR CHRIST je přesně taková, jakou ji mám nejraději. Shnilá, plesnivá, s dřevěnými rakvemi. Deska se opravdu povedla rád bych ji doporučil všem, kdo také rádi a dlouho žijí v temnotě. U stolu sedí všichni démoni a souhlasí se mnou. Není divu, "Twisted Idols for Nihilism" je přesně tím druhem hnisavého plesnivého smrtícího kovu, který milují všechny zombie. Ďábelská, morbidní symfonie smrti, která smrdí sírou!

Each freshly exhumed grave gives its testimony. About pain, about violence, about darkness, about madness, about death. Like the music, good death metal. Just listen carefully. Do you also smell decomposing bodies? Lament of the Undead. The atmosphere must be morbid, the mood somber and the blood corrupt. I think I made a good choice today. The tomb with the name NUCLEAR CHRIST is exactly the way I like it best. Rotten, musty, with wooden coffins.

The band hails from Florida and Miami. This year he presents us with an album that should not be missing from the collection of any fan of classic, morbid death. I haven't seen the light for several years, I've been living in darkness for many days. I meet only the souls of the undead and listen to music played deep underground. I immediately added "Twisted Idols for Nihilism" to my discography. I sift the dust between my fingers, I meet the undead. I keep turning up the volume. Because I like the traditional, raw sound, I admire the hellish cover and I enjoy all the ideas, which are abundant on the album. I nod my head contentedly, stomping to the rhythm. I pick up a shovel and dig another grave. I do this every time I encounter real, honest death music. I listen not only with my ears, but also with my heart. NUCLEAR CHRIST became my guides in Hades' realm for a long time. I tread quietly and the dusty bones crack under my feet. The skulls laugh into apparent silence. The mist is once again the color of blood and the air is heavy and foul. This is music for strong individuals, for all true believers. Kneel and bow your head. Death is suddenly very close. The tomb with the name NUCLEAR CHRIST is exactly the way I like it best. Rotten, musty, with wooden coffins. The record was really successful, I would like to recommend it to everyone who also likes to live in the dark for a long time. All the demons sit at the table and agree with me. No wonder, "Twisted Idols for Nihilism" is exactly the kind of festering moldy death metal that all zombies love. A fiendish, morbid symphony of death that reeks of sulphur!

1. Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

E: Arche was founded in 2014 when I asked Panu, our former guitar player, if he was interested in recording, mixing and producing some songs I had composed during the years. Ville joined Arche as a drummer and as a trio we made our first EP “Undercurrents”. Panu was at the helm of the production. Arche plays atmospheric funeral doom with emphasis on melodies.

2. Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

V: "Transitions" was recorded in Eerik's home studio, in the peaceful and remote countryside woods where he lives. The album was self-produced by the band. The foundation and framework for the songs was made as pre-production demos based on Eerik's compositions.

The recordings progressed without haste as arrangements took their final form and all parts and layers fit together nicely. We also decided not to hone the takes forever and left some humane imperfections in. Our friend and colleague Jani Harttunen provided us with microphones for the drum recordings, helped out with some additional engineering, and contributed with additional backing vocals.

I mixed the album at home, which also took its time being a meticulous process with the two of us sharing notions and paying attention to subtle details and nuances, and for the balance and spatial sound depth to complement the atmosphere of the songs.

A friend and colleague Henry Bomb mastered the album nicely, giving it the final touch so it not only sounded but also felt right. We are quite pleased how the record turned out.


3. How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

E: “Transitions” will be out on December 16th in CD (edition of 500 copies, first pressing) and digital formats. Vinyl (edition of 200 copies) will be out next year around April.

4: Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

E: I have written all the lyrics. On “Transitions” they are mainly observations on my life and surrounding world, cycle of birth and death, hope and sorrow.

5: Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

V: The cover art for "Transitions" was commissioned by the band from Nate Burns of Revolting Worship, who provided a fine piece of work. The album's layout was designed with Eerik's brother Henri and all graphical choices were made purely aesthetically. The band currently has no official logo.

As we know, in this digital age social media functions as the primary way for bands and artists to promote their music and to directly communicate with their followers. Arche being no exception. In our case it's our Facebook-page hosted by the band.


6. Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

E: After the release of “Undercurrents”, I wrote to a few labels and Kunal answered soon, that Transcending Obscurity was interested in releasing our next recording. I already had some song ideas, but it took us a few years to make sure that the quality was good enough. So the label had to wait for us to complete the material. They have done a great job at promoting us, with the merchandise and for having patience waiting for our art to find its final form.

V: Amidst all the adversities of global pandemics and several months of pressing plant delays, Kunal Choksi is doing a dedicated and good job with his label Transcending Obscurity. Having his hands full with a diverse roster of underground bands from all over the world, giving them visibility and bringing their music available by releasing physical records globally. Takes tenacity and deserves recognition.

7: Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

E: As a guitarist and songwriter my favorite metal artist was Miika Tenkula of Sentenced. Especially on the Amok and North From Here -albums. His playing style has had a great impact on how I play.

As I’m writing songs for Arche, I actually try to limit listening to other music. It would interfere with my creative flow. I usually just pick up my acoustic guitar and “if the stars are right”, so to speak, everything comes naturally. As I live in a small rural village, the silence in the winter and the sounds of nature in the summer are important in the creative process.

V: There are countless diverse bands and artists who I personally enjoy, admire, and consider an influence musically and expressively. Too numerous to list here.


8. Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

E: I did send “Undercurrents” EP to some underground labels getting maybe one or two replies. When I wrote to Transcending Obscurity, Kunal was interested in releasing our next album and we were pleased to begin co-operation with his label for our full-length album.

9. How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it’s (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

V: So far we have played only two club shows in Finland. The first show in Tampere, and the second in Helsinki as a support act for funeral doom pioneers Skepticism. The shows were done with two live session players. Our intention is to do more gigs in the future if the occasion is right and we'll manage to assemble a stable live line-up while working out all the logistics of rehearsals, expenses etc. A dedicated indoor or outdoor festival with kindred bands and artists would perhaps be the preferred type of platform for our style of music.

10. What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

E: I have enough raw material written for the next album, but it’s still impossible to say when we are going to start the recordings. Maybe next year.

We are probably going to activate as a live band and play some carefully selected shows if people want to see us.

V: We'll continue creating our kind of music, maybe explore our creative expression, see where it takes us, and see what the future brings.

Až jednou nastane nukleární zima, tak vylezou z děr všichni nemrtví. Budou se toulat ulicemi opuštěných měst a hledat všechny prokleté. Všude bude hrát jen death metal a já budu konečně spokojený. Někdy rád objevuji nové kapely, jen tak, náhodně. Tentokrát musím poděkovat jednomu našemu čtenáři, který mě na tuhle švédskou smečku upozornil. Ano, ENCRYPMENT jsou ze Stockholmu a hrají přesně tím způsobem, který mám tolik rád.

Divoce, neurvale, přesto chladně a temně. V jejich hudbě se mísí vlivy smrtícího kovu, crustu, grindcore a black metalu (podobně jako třeba u STRIGOI, VALLENFYRE). Najednou vstoupil do mého těla nekonečný mráz. Myšlenky měly barvu krve a nevěděl jsem, jestli jsem živý nebo už dávno mrtvý. Poslouchal jsem totiž "Dödens födsel". 


Pokaždé, když se setkám s novou kapelou, tak poslouchám velmi pozorně. Věnuji každé desce spoustu času a teprve až pak usednu a sepíšu pár slov. U "Dödens födsel" jsem si začal ihned podupávat nohou a bouchat pěstí do stolu. Novinka má v sobě obrovské množství černé energie, nasbírané snad někde v severských lesích. Když jsem pak vyrazil brzy ráno do práce a ulicemi se toulaly jenom stíny, měl jsem opravdu pocit, že nemrtví povstali. Prašivý zvuk, nepříjemný a jedovatý vokál, ale hlavně spousta nápadů a nálady podobné stavům lidské mysli po apokalypse. Tore Stjerna (Mayhem, Nominon, Desultory, Insision, Repugnant, Paganizer atd.). Obal vytvořil Jesse Peper a tak mám jistotu, že po formální stránce je vše v nejlepším pořádku. Líbí se mi, že nejsou ENCRYPMENT jen dalším, dnes tolik typickým klonem "starého dobrého švédského death metalu", ale přinášejí do tohoto stylu i spoustu svých nápadů. Líbí se mi kombinace stylů, podobné jedovaté koktejly velmi rád ochutnám. Je to vlastně jednoduché. Přistupuji k muzice stejně jako před více než třiceti lety. Buď mě rozseká a baví mě a nebo jdu dál. Tentokrát jsem se zastavil a strávil s nahrávkou spoustu krásných morbidních chvil. Mohu vám ji jenom doporučit. Z podzemí vylezli další z démonů, kteří přesně ví, o čem je opravdová reálná smrt. Říkají si ENCRYPMENT a zabíjejí na potkání. Chladná, temná, ďábelská modlitba za všechny nemrtvé!

Once nuclear winter occurs, all the undead will climb out of the holes. They will roam the streets of abandoned cities looking for all the damned. Only death metal will be playing everywhere and I will finally be satisfied. Sometimes I like to discover new bands, just like that, randomly. This time I have to thank one of our readers who alerted me to this Swedish pack. Yes, ENCRYPMENT are from Stockholm and they play exactly the way I like so much.

Wild, unruly, yet cold and dark. Their music mixes the influences of death metal, crust, grindcore and black metal (similar to STRIGOI, VALLENFYRE, for example). Suddenly, an endless cold entered my body. The thoughts were the color of blood and I didn't know if I was alive or long dead. I was listening to "Dödens födsel".


Every time I meet a new band, I listen very carefully. I spend a lot of time on each record and only then do I sit down and write a few words. At "Dödens födsel" I immediately started stamping my foot and banging my fist on the table. The novelty contains a huge amount of black energy, perhaps collected somewhere in the Nordic forests. Then when I went to work early in the morning and only shadows roamed the streets, I really had the feeling that the undead had risen. Dusty sound, unpleasant and poisonous vocals, but mainly a lot of ideas and moods similar to the states of the human mind after the apocalypse. Tore Stjerna (Mayhem, Nominon, Desultory, Insision, Repugnant, Paganizer, etc.). The cover was created by Jesse Peper, so I'm sure everything is in the best shape in terms of form.
