Pod nohama mi křupou lehce zmrzlé kousky spadaného listí. Podzim pomalu přichází a příroda kolem mě postupně utichá. Hladina temného horského jezera je zbarvená krví. Jakoby násilná smrt narušila přirozený koloběh. Bledá tvář s překvapeným výrazem. Ruce vznášející se jako křídla havranů na hladině. Bolest, utrpení, smutek, strach. Míchá se v tobě tisíc nálad, emocí a pocitů. Všechny jsou zabarvené do odstínů šedé a černé. Tenhle děsivý zážitek se ti vypálil do podvědomí a vyleze na povrch pokaždé, když se setkáš s podobně naladěnou hudbou.

Není žádným tajemstvím, že mám pro švédské tmáře RUNEMAGICK velkou slabost. S jejich tvorbou jsem se setkal poprvé kdysi dávno, na konci devadesátých let minulého století. Kapela mě provedla životem a každé nové album očekávám s napětím. Pod letošní novinkou je podepsán již jen Nicklas "Terror" Rudolfsson. Nutno rovnou doplnit, že kapela nijak neztratila na své uvěřitelnosti, intenzitě. Pokud jste na tom jako já, budete určitě spokojeni. Hladina horského jezera se zdá být stále křišťálově čistá. Dokud nevyplave na povrch další tělo. 


Měl jsem tu čest udělat s kapelou rozhovor a napsat i několik dalších recenzi (odkazy naleznete dole pod dnešním článkem). I letos se jedná o zážitek, který se krásně morbidně hodí k nastávajícím podzimním dnům. Jakoby temnota dostala další rozměr. Smutné, táhlé doom metalové melodie, ale i ostrost death metalu, obojí namíchané ve vzájemném poměru. Vkusně, s elegancí a zkušenostmi starých mistrů. Velmi dobře čitelný zvuk, několik hostů, ale i třeba motiv na obalu, tohle všechno dělá z letošní nahrávky opravdu komplexní dílo. Hudba je to stará, prašivá, jako metal samotný. Přesto stále svěží, zajímavá, neotřelá. Přiznám se vám k jedné věci. Poslech jsem si opravdu nejvíc užíval v lesích, když se mi pomalu dostával do kostí chlad, když jsem se toulal po pěšinách, po kterých chodí jenom zvěř. Stal jsem se pomalu stínem, vnímal jsem sílu nového alba. Stalo se i mojí součástí. Mám to zkrátka v sobě takhle nastavené, poslouchám hlavně srdcem. Cítím zde pradávnou sílu opuštěných pohřebišť. I já jsem si nejvíc album "Cycle of the Dying Sun (Dawn of Ashen Realms)" užíval v ruinách rozpadlého, znesvěceného kostela. Je něco neklidného, zvláštního, přesto velmi přitažlivého, nebál bych se napsat i magického, co mě neustále přitahuje a nutí k dalším společným seancím. Obejmuly mě pevné pavučiny, upletené z těch nejlepších záhrobních ingrediencí. Tahle nahrávka má v sobě něco navíc, spoustu energie, tlaku, ale i smutku a bolesti. Osobně ji řadím mezi to nejlepší, co letos zatím vyšlo. Jsme stejné krve! Pod nohama mi křupou lehce zmrzlé kousky spadaného listí. Podzim pomalu přichází a příroda kolem mě postupně utichá. Lightly frozen pieces of fallen leaves crunch under my feet. Autumn is slowly approaching and nature around me is gradually falling silent. The surface of the dark mountain lake is stained with blood. It is as if violent death has disrupted the natural cycle. A pale face with a surprised expression. Hands floating like raven wings on the surface. Pain, suffering, sadness, fear. A thousand moods, emotions, and feelings stir within you. All of them are tinged with shades of gray and black. This terrifying experience has burned itself into your subconscious and resurfaces every time you encounter similarly themed music.

It's no secret that I have a soft spot for the Swedish dark metal band RUNEMAGICK. I first encountered their work a long time ago, at the end of the 1990s. The band has accompanied me through life, and I eagerly await each new album. Only Nicklas "Terror" Rudolfsson is credited on this year's new release. It should be added that the band has lost none of its credibility or intensity. If you're like me, you'll definitely be satisfied. The surface of the mountain lake still seems crystal clear. Until another body floats to the surface. 


I had the honor of interviewing the band and writing several other reviews (links can be found below today's article). This year, it is once again an experience that fits beautifully and morbidly with the approaching autumn days. It is as if darkness has taken on another dimension. Sad, drawn-out doom metal melodies, but also the sharpness of death metal, both mixed in perfect proportion. Tastefully, with the elegance and experience of old masters. A very clear sound, several guests, but also the motif on the cover, all this makes this year's recording a truly complex work. The music is old, raw, like metal itself. Yet still fresh, interesting, original. I'll admit one thing to you. I really enjoyed listening to it most in the woods, when the cold was slowly getting into my bones, when I was wandering along paths that only animals walk on. I slowly became a shadow, I felt the power of the new album. It became a part of me. That's just how I'm wired, I listen mainly with my heart. I feel the ancient power of abandoned burial grounds here. I also enjoyed the album "Cycle of the Dying Sun (Dawn of Ashen Realms)" the most in the ruins of a dilapidated, desecrated church. There is something unsettling, strange, yet very attractive, I would even dare to say magical, that constantly draws me in and compels me to listen to it again and again. I was enveloped by solid cobwebs, woven from the finest ingredients of the afterlife. This recording has something extra, a lot of energy, pressure, but also sadness and pain. Personally, I rank it among the best that has been released so far this year. We are of the same blood! Slightly frozen pieces of fallen leaves crunch under my feet. Stále v nás je něco krutého a barbarského. Jakmile ucítíme krev, tak se nám rozzáří oči. Přitahuje nás násilí a když dojde na nejhorší, tak dokážeme být pěkně hnusní. Jsou kapely, které umí zlo vytáhnout na povrch a ukázat nám, co se ukrývá v našich temných myslích. Němečtí ARCHAIC THORN to zvládají na výbornou. Důkazem budiž jejich nové i předešlé album (pokud máte chuť, přečtěte si recenzi a rozhovor s kapelou, obojí je odkazováno dole pod článkem).

Novinka pokračuje tam, kde kapela minule přestala. V naprosté tmě, hluboko v podzemí, ve kterém spí naši vlastní démoni. Je to velmi okultní záležitost, se zvláštní, nebál bych se napsat až magickou přitažlivostí. Tenhle obřad si určitě užijete. Kapela dokázala opět vložit do skladeb velkou spoustu energie, tlaku i zkažené krve.  


Základem je inspirace kapelami jako POSSESSED, VENOM, VITAL REMAINS, ACHERON, NECROPHAGIA,, NECROS CHRISTOS, GRAVE MIASMA, DEAD CONGREGATION. Samozřejmě s tím, že Němci vkládají do své hudby spoustu vlastních nápadů a invence. Výsledný letošní smrtící koktejl je tak velmi jedovatý, cítím lehký posun k větší melodičnosti, záhadnosti. Vše je propracované, má v sobě pověstnou jiskru. Zahráno od srdce s touhou zabíjet hudbou. Povedl se zvuk a o obalu netřeba také diskutovat, je vynikající. Němci jsou i letos ve vynikající formě a mě to tak neustále nutí se vracet a znovu a znovu zapínat play. Je něco neklidného, zvláštního a neotřelého, co v sobě novinka obsahuje. Poslouchat "Malicious Spears" je jako navštívit hroby prokletých. Z jednotlivých motivů doslova odkapává krev, album se pro mě stalo doslova návykovým. Právě teď, co píšu tato slova, se někde na světě opět zabíjí. Umírají nevinní. Pro kousek území, pro víru, pro nenávist. Věřím tomu, že jednou všichni padlí  znovu povstanou z hrobů a za zvuků téhle nahrávky se přijdou pomstít. Za bolest, za utrpení, za strach. Abych to nějak shrnul. Nový letošní počin považuji za velmi povedený po všech stránkách a rád jej budu doporučovat všem, kteří mají rádi poctivou, uvěřitelnou, reálnou smrtící muziku, která je velmi dobře napsána a složena. Stále v nás je něco krutého a barbarského. Jakmile ucítíme krev, tak se nám rozzáří oči. Přitahuje nás násilí a když dojde na nejhorší, tak dokážeme být pěkně hnusní. Chladný a temný death metalový obřad pro vyvolávání děsivé síly, která není z tohoto světa! Nahrubo nasekaná tma!

There is still something cruel and barbaric inside us. As soon as we smell blood, our eyes light up. We are attracted to violence, and when it comes down to it, we can be pretty nasty. There are bands that can bring evil to the surface and show us what lurks in our dark minds. The German band ARCHAIC THORN does this excellently. Proof of this can be found on their new and previous albums (if you feel like it, read the review and interview with the band, both linked below the article).

The new album picks up where the band left off last time. In complete darkness, deep underground, where our own demons sleep. It's a very occult affair, with a strange, I wouldn't be afraid to say magical appeal. You'll definitely enjoy this ritual. The band has once again managed to put a lot of energy, pressure, and rotten blood into their songs.


The basis is inspiration from bands such as POSSESSED, VENOM, VITAL REMAINS, ACHERON, NECROPHAGIA, NECROS CHRISTOS, GRAVE MIASMA, and DEAD CONGREGATION. Of course, the Germans put a lot of their own ideas and inventiveness into their music. This year's deadly cocktail is very poisonous, and I sense a slight shift towards greater melodiousness and mystery. Everything is well thought out and has that famous spark. It is played from the heart with a desire to kill with music. The sound is great, and the cover art is excellent. The Germans are in excellent form again this year, and it keeps me coming back to press play again and again. There is something unsettling, strange, and unusual about this new release. Listening to "Malicious Spears" is like visiting the graves of the damned. Blood literally drips from the individual motifs, and the album has become literally addictive for me. Right now, as I write these words, people are killing each other somewhere in the world. Innocent people are dying. For a piece of land, for faith, for hatred. I believe that one day all the fallen will rise from their graves and come to take revenge to the sounds of this recording. For the pain, for the suffering, for the fear. To sum it up somehow. I consider this year's new work to be very successful in all respects, and I will gladly recommend it to anyone who likes honest, credible, realistic, deadly music that is very well written and composed. There is still something cruel and barbaric in us. As soon as we smell blood, our eyes light up. We are attracted to violence, and when it comes down to it, we can be pretty nasty. A cold and dark death metal ritual to summon terrifying powers that are not of this world! Roughly chopped darkness!

Pod nohama ti praskají staré kosti. Jdeš pomalu tmou a nasloucháš zvukům podsvětí. Absolutní temnota, zlo číhající ve stínu. Ze stěn stéká špinavý hnis. Přivedly tě sem tvoje vlastní noční můry. Již dlouho si měl pocit, že jsi vyvolený, že to musíš udělat. Sestoupit po schodech dolů, otevřít rezavou bránu do podzemí a hledat obětiště. Těžký, smradlavý vzduch prořízl první riff. Už to nebude dlouho trvat. Zahlédneš ohně. Jsi tu správně. Tohle je pravý a ryzí black death metalový obřad.

Australští ABOMINATOR se vracejí po dlouhých deseti letech, aby nám opět zvěstovali příchod samotného Satana a démonů na svět. Nemrtví spali až příliš dlouho. Letos se přišli pomstít. A provádějí to pomocí divokých, nespoutaných, od krve ušpiněných melodií. Tohle je útok ze samotného pekla! 


Tahle smečka měla vždycky svůj vlastní, jasný a zřetelný rukopis, originální otisk a jinak tomu není ani letos. Jakoby bylo nové album "The Fire Brethren" nahráváno v hlubokých jeskyních v divočině. Do skladeb se promítl nejen tradiční vztek a touha ničit hudbou, ale i absolutní tma a zlo. Na své si přijdou určitě fanoušci třeba takových ANGELCORPSE, BESTIAL WARLUST, MORBID ANGEL, IMPIETY, PERDITION TEMPLE, KRISIUN. Pánové jsou i letos velmi nekompromisní, s ničím se nepářou. Po celou dobu poslechu budete mít pocit, že vám stojí na prsou samotný rohatý. Budete se dusit zkaženou krví, marně lapat po dechu, abyste nakonec konečně přešli na druhou stranu. Určitě moc dobře víte, že nebe bylo dávno spáleno na popel a existuje již jen jeho odvrácená strana. Pamatujte, že rozhřešení nikdy nedojdete! S touhle nahrávkou určitě ne. Jednotlivé skladby v sobě mají potřebný tlak, sílu, pověstnou energii, která musela být opravdu načerpána někde hluboko v podzemí. Zmínit musím i velmi dobrý, ostrý, surový zvuk, který měl na starosti Adam Calaitzis a který dodal albu na uvěřitelnosti. Určitě ve vás bude evokovat vzpomínky na devadesátá léta minulého století. Za opravdu povedený považuji i motiv na obalu. Podepsán je pod ním legendární Chris Moyen. Po formální stránce se tak jedná rozhodně o velmi povedený počin, který bude určitě krásně morbidním artefaktem každého opravdového fanouška. Navíc je novinka dostupná ve všech formátech (CD, LP, TAPE). Pod nohama ti praskají staré kosti. Jdeš pomalu tmou a nasloucháš zvukům podsvětí. Absolutní temnota, zlo číhající ve stínu. Ze stěn stéká špinavý hnis. Přivedly tě sem tvoje vlastní noční můry. Nihilistický, útočný, maniakální, divoký a nespoutaný blasfemický black death metal! Budete ukřižováni hlavou dolů!

The gentlemen are very uncompromising again this year, not messing around with anything. Throughout the entire listening experience, you will feel as if the devil himself is standing on your chest. You will choke on rotten blood, gasping for breath in vain, until you finally cross over to the other side. You surely know very well that heaven was burned to ashes long ago and only its dark side remains. Remember, you will never receive absolution! Certainly not with this recording. The individual songs have the necessary pressure, power, and legendary energy that must have been drawn from somewhere deep underground. I must also mention the very good, sharp, raw sound, which was the responsibility of Adam Calaitzis and which added credibility to the album. It will certainly evoke memories of the 1990s. I also consider the cover design to be really well done. It is signed by the legendary Chris Moyen. Formally, this is definitely a very successful work, which will certainly be a beautifully morbid artifact for every true fan. In addition, the new release is available in all formats (CD, LP, TAPE). Někdy ti připadá, že svět je hrozně těžké místo k životu. Vidíš jen odstíny šedé a černé barvy. Venku zrovna prší a mraky mají barvu krve. Něco uvnitř tebe tě bolí, drásá zevnitř. Jako bys v každé noční můře zemřel a znovu se narodil do temnoty. Už ani nepočítáš, kolikrát si vzal do rukou žiletku. Jenže potom ses pokaždé uviděl v zrcadle, usmál ses, protože si věděl, že i v temnotě je krása. Potvrzuje to i nové album japonských death doom metalistů HETEROPSY. 

Kapela letos přichází se svojí první dlouhohrající nahrávkou. Pánové z Tokia mají na svém kontě ještě čtyři EP a jeden split. Schválně jsem si prošel celou diskografii a musím rovnou dodat, že tohle je přesně hudba, která koluje i v mých žilách. Prašivá, chladná, podmanivá, děsivá, morbidní, surová. Jako život samotný. 


Líbí se mi přístup, který z hudby těchto tmářů slyším. Kapela je sice volně inspirována severskými kapelami jako DISMEMBER, ENTRAILS, GRAVE (Boss HM-2 pedal forever!), ale jde na to svým vlastním způsobem. Zaslechnout tak můžete i vlivy třeba takových AUTOPSY, SADNESS, NAGLFAR, RIPPIKOULU. Jasně, to by nebylo zase tolik neobvyklé. Jenže tihle maniaci vložili do skladeb i svoji vlastní invenci, nápady a emoce. Pro mě je vždy velmi důležité, aby mě bavilo hudbu, o které píši, poslouchat. Při "Embalming" jsem byl ihned stržen do hlubiny. Stačilo mi opravdu jen několik prvních setkání, abych věděl, že k téhle smečce se budu rád a často vracet. Je to pro mě totiž absolutně uvěřitelný, opravdový, reálný a autentický návrat po časové ose zpět. Samozřejmě, s vlastním rukopisem a výrazem. Určitě to znáte, ty nepříjemné chvíle, kdy na vás padá celý svět, když vás pronásledují stíny, když vám všechno připadá podivné a nepříjemné. Býváte rádi sami a potřebujete energii, která by vás znovu vrátila do hry. HETEROPSY ji mají na rozdávání. Při poslechu jejich novinky praskají kosti tlakem a nadskakují víka od rakví. Pokud jste, stejně jako já, začínali z hudbou v devadesátých letech, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Tohle album vás rozseká na kusy, pohřbí zaživa. Zrozeni z popela se potom budete kývat do rytmu a stanete se svým vlastním démonem. Nová nahrávka v sobě obsahuje vše pro poslední věci člověka na tomto světě. Někdy ti připadá, že svět je hrozně těžké místo k životu. Vidíš jen odstíny šedé a černé barvy. Venku zrovna prší a mraky mají barvu krve. Něco uvnitř tebe tě bolí, drásá zevnitř. Temné, chladné doom death metalové album, u kterého vás budou pálit vnitřnosti a mrazit v kostech! Definice naprosté tmy!

Sometimes you feel like the world is a terribly difficult place to live in. All you see are shades of gray and black. It's raining outside and the clouds are the color of blood. Something inside you hurts, tearing you apart from within. It's as if you died in every nightmare and were reborn into darkness. You've lost count of how many times you've picked up a razor blade. But then you saw yourself in the mirror and smiled, because you knew that even in the darkness there is beauty. This is confirmed by the new album from Japanese death doom metal band HETEROPSY. 

The band is releasing their first full-length album this year. The gentlemen from Tokyo have four EPs and one split album to their credit. I deliberately went through their entire discography and I must say that this is exactly the kind of music that flows through my veins. Dusty, cold, captivating, terrifying, morbid, raw. Like life itself. 


I like the approach I hear in the music of these dark souls. The band is loosely inspired by Nordic bands such as DISMEMBER, ENTRAILS, GRAVE (Boss HM-2 pedal forever!), but they do it their own way. You can also hear influences from bands such as AUTOPSY, SADNESS, NAGLFAR, and RIPPIKOULU. Sure, that wouldn't be so unusual. But these maniacs have also put their own invention, ideas, and emotions into the songs. For me, it's always very important that I enjoy listening to the music I write about. With "Embalming", I was immediately drawn into its depths. It only took me a few initial encounters to know that I would gladly and often return to this pack. For me, it's an absolutely believable, real, and authentic return back in time. Of course, with their own style and expression. You surely know those unpleasant moments when the whole world is falling apart, when shadows are chasing you, when everything seems strange and unpleasant. You like to be alone and need energy to get you back in the game. HETEROPSY has plenty of it to spare. Listening to their new album, your bones crack under the pressure and coffin lids bounce open. If, like me, you started out with music in the nineties, don't hesitate for a moment. This album will tear you to pieces and bury you alive. Born from the ashes, you will then sway to the rhythm and become your own demon. The new recording contains everything for a person's last moments in this world. Sometimes you feel that the world is a terribly difficult place to live. You see only shades of gray and black. It's raining outside and the clouds are the color of blood. Something inside you hurts, tearing you apart from within. A dark, cold doom death metal album that will burn your insides and chill you to the bone! The definition of utter darkness!

Bolest, která nikdy neskončí. Poneseš si ji v sobě až do konce svých dní. Přemýšlíš o tom pokaždé, když jdeš odnést květiny na hrob. Sám uprostřed davu, který se směje, žije, miluje, ale ty už tyhle věci nikdy nedokážeš. Jakoby na tvém srdci stála tíha celého světa. Potácíš se tmou a naděje dávno zemřela. Je uložena v chladné rakvi. Tohle album je pro všechny, kteří dokáží vnímat celým tělem pochmurné nálady, smutek a rádi nechávají svoje duše rozdrásat do krve.

Americká funeral doom death metalová legenda EVOKEN rozhodně nepatří mezi kapely, které by trpěly nadprodukcí. Naopak, mezi svými nahrávkami si dávají dostatek času na to, abychom my, fanoušci, dostali vždy kvalitní materiál. Ani letošní rok a novinka "Mendacium" nejsou výjimkou. Hřbitovní kvítí opět vyrostlo v celé své kráse. Náhrobky jsou nakloněny zase o něco více. Smutek se stal během poslechu i mým středobodem světa. Symfonie smrti, samoty, mlhavých chladných rán na hřbitově. Poslouchejte v klidu, ve tmě a ve chvílích, kdy je vaše mysl rozjitřená.  


Jako asi každý mívám své rituály. Vracívám se poslední dobou často do svého rodiště. Procházím se po místech, která znám od dětství. Jakoby do nich byly promítnuty vzpomínky. Nakonec ale stejně skončím na hřbitově. Rozjímám, o samotě, hlavou mi létá spousta podivných myšlenek. Vracím se potom domů, ke knihám a poslouchám stále dokola "Mendacium". Stále, i po všech těch letech, co extrémní muziku sleduji, se rád nechám fascinovat a uhranout mrazivými melodiemi, perfektně ošetřeným zvukem, zajímavým obalem, záhadným a tajemným vokálem. EVOKEN již dávno vybrousili svůj styl k naprosté dokonalosti. Jakoby mě každý tón, nota, melodie pronikaly hluboko do mého podvědomí. Mrazí mě v zádech a v kostech se usadil chlad. Spočinutí. Zastavení. Jsem pokaždé, když se potkám s tímhle albem, v takovém zvláštním rozpoložení. Už dávno vnímám hudbu hlavně srdcem, líbí se mi, když je opravdová, reálná, syrová, autentická. I letos téhle kapele věřím absolutně všechno. Ráno vstávám do hluboké tmy a jdu tichou ulicí. Pod nohama mi křupe listí v barvách podzimu. Stereotyp všedního dne je narušen touhle nahrávkou a já mám najednou pocit, že se vznáším, že létám, padám do hlubiny, topím se v řece smrti, znovu se rodím, v nekonečných bolestech. Tohle je hudba do starých opuštěných chrámů, tohle je album, které můžete pustit všem pozůstalým na pohřební hostině. Američtí nihilisté si mě opět zamotali do svých sítí, strhli mě na svoji stranu. Nemohu jinak, než jen mezi skladbami vydat upřímné doporučení. Pokud máte tenhle styl rádi, rozhodně by vám tohle album nemělo uniknout. Bolest, která nikdy neskončí. Poneseš si ji v sobě až do konce svých dní. Přemýšlíš o tom pokaždé, když jdeš odnést květiny na hrob. American funeral doom death metal legends EVOKEN are definitely not among the bands that suffer from overproduction. On the contrary, they take enough time between their recordings so that we, the fans, always get quality material. This year and their new album "Mendacium" are no exception. The cemetery flowers have once again grown in all their beauty. The gravestones are leaning a little more. While listening, sadness became the center of my world. A symphony of death, loneliness, and foggy cold mornings in the cemetery. Listen in peace, in the dark, and in moments when your mind is agitated.


Like everyone else, I have my rituals. Lately, I've been returning to my hometown often. I walk around places I've known since childhood. It's as if my memories are projected onto them. But in the end, I always end up at the cemetery. I contemplate, alone, with a lot of strange thoughts running through my head. Then I return home to my books and listen to "Mendacium" over and over again. Even after all these years of following extreme music, I still love to be fascinated and captivated by chilling melodies, perfectly crafted sound, interesting packaging, and mysterious vocals. EVOKEN has long since honed their style to perfection. It's as if every tone, note, and melody penetrates deep into my subconscious. I feel a chill down my spine and a cold settles in my bones. Rest. Pause. Every time I encounter this album, I find myself in such a strange state of mind. I have long perceived music mainly with my heart; I like it when it is real, raw, authentic. This year, too, I believe absolutely everything about this band. In the morning, I get up in the deep darkness and walk down a quiet street. Autumn-colored leaves crunch under my feet. The stereotype of everyday life is disrupted by this recording, and I suddenly feel like I'm floating, flying, falling into the depths, drowning in the river of death, being reborn in endless pain. This is music for old abandoned temples, this is an album you can play for all the bereaved at a funeral reception. The American nihilists have once again entangled me in their webs, pulling me over to their side. I can't help but give my sincere recommendation between songs. Byly to pro tebe velmi těžké chvíle. Prozření. Věřil jsi celý svůj život v dávno mrtvé modly. Klečel si před knězem, který se sice příjemně usmíval, ale ve sklepě pod kostelem dělal věci, o kterých si raději neměl vědět. Ztratil si víru v dobro, stal si se postupně prokletým. Pokaždé, když si vstoupil dovnitř a spatřil si dřevěný kříž, začalo tě pálit ve vnitřnostech. Tolik bolesti, tolik utrpení.

Raději si zapálil znovu oheň a pustil si nové album švédských black death thrash metalistů CRUENTUS. Stačilo jen několik poslechů, abys zjistil, že peklo opravdu existuje. Tohle je syrový, temný útok z toho nejhlubšího podzemí. Jakoby mě obejmula krvavá mlha. Znovu zapínám play a moje kroky nesměřují do sklepa, ale do země nekonečných stínů. 

Nové album muselo vznikat mezi starodávnými ruinami dávno zapomenutých pohřebišť. Čerstvě exhumované hroby vydaly další děsivá svědectví. Pánové jsou naplno oddáni naprosté tmě a chladu. Jejich hudební rukopis je pro mě osobně velmi návykový. Na novince mě vlastně baví všechno. Zvuk, motiv na obalu, jednotlivé nápady, ale hlavně podmanivě tajemná a mrazivá nálada, jakýsi neklid, které se vznáší nad celou nahrávkou jako krvavá mlha. CRUENTUS zvolili staroškolský, tradiční a ortodoxní přístup. Nutno rovnou dodat, že se jedná o nejen perfektně odvedené řemeslo, ale také o záležitost, která je pro mě velmi uvěřitelná, opravdová, reálná, autentická. Brával jsem si nové album "End Without End"  na své nekonečné toulky podzimní usínající přírodou a musím říct, že jeho síla na opuštěných lesních pěšinách, na kopcích nad propastí, opravdu vynikla. Skladby jsou velmi dobře napsány, mají v sobě potřebný drive, takovou tu hnilobnou sílu, tlak a řežou tou správnou stranou nože. Jedná se teprve o třetí dlouhohrající počin kapely, která působí na scéně od roku 1998. To není rozhodně mnoho, ale zase na druhou stranu, vždycky jsme dostali kvalitně odvedenou záhrobní práci. Představte si rozbořený kostel, pohlcený okolní přírodou. Přestože se zde pořádala poslední mše dávno před tím, než jste se narodili, dodnes je ve zbylých zdech otištěna bolest věřících. Podepisuji vám vlastní krví, že tohle album se vám dostane do žil i do podvědomí. Je v něm totiž něco magického, divokého, nespoutaného, krutého, drásavého. Byly to pro tebe velmi těžké chvíle. Those were very difficult moments for you. An epiphany. You had believed in long-dead idols your whole life. You knelt before a priest who smiled pleasantly, but in the basement under the church, he did things you would rather not know about. You lost your faith in goodness and gradually became cursed. Every time you walked in and saw the wooden cross, your insides began to burn. So much pain, so much suffering.

You preferred to light a fire again and play the new album by Swedish black death thrash metal band CRUENTUS. It only took a few listens to realize that hell really exists. This is a raw, dark attack from the deepest underground. It was as if a bloody fog had enveloped me. I press play again, and my steps lead not to the basement, but to the land of endless shadows. 


The new album must have been created among ancient ruins of long-forgotten burial grounds. Freshly exhumed graves yielded further terrifying evidence. These gentlemen are fully devoted to utter darkness and coldness. Personally, I find their musical style very addictive. I actually enjoy everything about this new release. The sound, the cover art, the individual ideas, but above all the captivatingly mysterious and chilling mood, a kind of unease that hangs over the entire recording like a bloody fog. CRUENTUS have chosen an old-school, traditional, and orthodox approach. It must be said right away that this is not only a perfectly executed craft, but also something that is very believable, real, and authentic to me. I used to take the new album "End Without End" with me on my endless wanderings through the autumn nature falling asleep, and I must say that its power really stood out on deserted forest paths, on hills above the abyss. The songs are very well written, they have the necessary drive, that decaying power, pressure, and they cut with the right side of the knife. This is only the third full-length album by the band, which has been on the scene since 1998. That's not much, but on the other hand, we've always gotten high-quality work from beyond the grave. Imagine a ruined church, engulfed by the surrounding nature. Although the last mass was held here long before you were born, the pain of the faithful is still imprinted on the remaining walls. I swear with my own blood that this album will get into your veins and your subconscious. There is something magical, wild, unrestrained, cruel, and harrowing about it. These were very difficult times for you. An awakening. You believed in long-dead idols your entire life. You knelt before a priest who smiled pleasantly, but in the basement under the church, he did things you'd rather not know about. You lost your faith in goodness and gradually became cursed. Považoval ses za posla, který má vyčistit ulice. Od zla a špíny. Stal si se svým vlastním bohem. Miloval si pohled do očí obětí. Lovil si převážně v noci a mrtvoly si hromadil v temném sklepě. Nemohli tě chytit a myslel sis, že jsi chytřejší než ostatní. Nechápal si, proč takoví jako ty dostávají ve válkách řády a ocenění a z tebe mají strach. Jenom ty si věděl, že zlo pochází odněkud z hlubin lidské duše. Z podvědomí. 

Existují kapely, které umí vytáhnout zvrácené a maniakální myšlenky na povrch. Riffy jsou opět ušpiněné od krve, bicí vám vystřelí mozek z hlavy a vokál připomíná rozzuřenou bestii. To vše zabalené v chladu, opravdové, reálné, autentické, ohlodané na kost. Legendární slam brutal death metalisté INTERNAL BLEEDING jsou zpět v plné síle. 


Tahle smečka šla vždycky rovnou na věc, s ničím se moc nepárala. I letos pánové útočí přímo na solar plexus. Řežou do živého a dělají to tou správnou stranou nože. Pravdou je, že mě jejich tvorba provází skoro celý můj hudební život a jsem stále oddaným fanouškem. Zase tolik kapel v tomto stylu mě nebaví, ale když něco vydají tihle maniaci, bývám pokaždé spokojen. Letos výjimku dělat nemusím. Kývám se spokojeně do rytmu, samozřejmě se sekyrou v ruce. Porcování masa proběhlo v nejlepším pořádku. A je úplně jedno, že už bylo hodně zmrzlé. INTERNAL BLEEDING v sobě vždycky měli něco zajímavého, neotřelého, zvláštního. Vlastní rukopis, výraz chcete-li. Zažil jsem skvělé koncerty, kdy jsem tak nějak automaticky vylezl na pódium. Novinka je dílem, které se povedlo po všech stránkách. Kapela sice neobjevuje nic nového, ale to mi vůbec nevadí. Spíše bych řekl, že vybrušuje styl, který sama vymyslela, k dokonalosti. Povedl se samozřejmě zvuk, motiv na obalu i všechny další formální věci. Novou nahrávku jsem na sebe aplikoval pokaždé, když mě začal štvát podivný svět okolo. Rozšklebené tváře ulhaných politiků, falešných proroků. Všechny ty zbytečné války, lživé reklamy. Jakoby lidstvo postupně hlouplo. Možná je to ale jen můj dojem. Těžko říct. Jediné, s čím jsem si jistý a co je pro mě takovým velmi důležitým záchytným bodem v jinak zcela chaotickém vesmíru, tak jsou alba jako "Settle All Scores". Chtěli jste nové INTERNAL BLEEDING? Máte je mít. Berte a nebo nechte být. Považoval ses za posla, který má vyčistit ulice. Od zla a špíny. Stal si se svým vlastním bohem. Miloval si pohled do očí obětí. Lovil si převážně v noci a mrtvoly si hromadil v temném sklepě. Jsi vrah, bestie, voják a nebo hrdina? Morbidní galerie kruté a ohavné smrti! Brutálně slam death metalově nastavené zrcadlo našim temným myšlenkám a zkaženému světu!

This pack has always gone straight to the point, without beating around the bush. This year, too, the gentlemen are attacking right at the solar plexus. They cut to the quick and do it with the right side of the knife. The truth is that their work has accompanied me throughout almost my entire musical life, and I am still a devoted fan. I don't enjoy many bands of this style, but when these maniacs release something, I am always satisfied. This year is no exception. I nod contentedly to the rhythm, with an axe in my hand, of course. The meat was cut up perfectly. And it doesn't matter that it was already very frozen. INTERNAL BLEEDING has always had something interesting, unusual, and special about it. Its own signature, its own expression, if you will. I've been to great concerts where I somehow automatically climbed onto the stage. The new album is a work that has succeeded in every way. The band may not be discovering anything new, but that doesn't bother me at all. I would rather say that they are refining the style they themselves invented to perfection. Of course, the sound, the cover art, and all the other formal aspects are great. I listened to the new album whenever I started to get annoyed by the strange world around me. The smirking faces of lying politicians, false prophets. All those pointless wars, deceitful advertisements. It's as if humanity is gradually becoming more stupid. But maybe that's just my impression. It's hard to say. The only thing I am sure of, and what is a very important anchor for me in an otherwise completely chaotic universe, are albums like "Settle All Scores". Did you want a new INTERNAL BLEEDING? Here you go. Take it or leave it. You considered yourself a messenger who had to clean the streets. Of evil and filth. You became your own god. You loved looking into the eyes of your victims. You hunted mainly at night and piled up corpses in a dark basement. Are you a murderer, a beast, a soldier, or a hero? A morbid gallery of cruel and hideous deaths! A brutally slam death metal mirror held up to our dark thoughts and corrupt world!

Navštívil si spoustu temných seancí i krvavých rituálů. Většinou ti připadaly oběti zbytečné. Ale teď, teď je to úplně jiné. Těžkým, smradlavým vzduchem se vznáší děsivé melodie z nového alba amerických black death metalových maniaků VALDUR. Cítíš pach spáleného masa a síry. Z krvavé mlhy nejdříve vystoupí temné přízraky. Obličeje bez tváří, zahalené v kápích. Jsou to tví vlastní démoni. Potom přijde on. Jeho jméno se nesmí vyslovit. Podívá se na tebe žhnoucím pohledem a usměje se. Moc dobře totiž ví, že se zde hraje i pro něj. Tohle je ďábelská hudba z těch nejtemnějších koutů podsvětí. 

Vše je zde uvěřitelné, opravdové, autentické. Ve skladbách je obsaženo velké množství jedu, chladu a beznaděje. Blasfemické nálady se při poslechu vznášejí kolem jako děsivá svědectví, která spala dlouho zakonzervována ve starých rakvích. Letos, když zapnete play na svém přehrávači, tak se s nimi setkáte. Tohle je magický, syrový a krvavý obřad pro vyvolávání temných sil!


Líbí se mi, jakým způsobem tahle smečka přistupuje k muzice. Pánové jsou nekompromisní, útočí napřímo, ale nezapomínají ani na chlad a temnotu, kterých je v jednotlivých motivech nakumulováno opravdu velké množství. Jako bych sestoupil několik pater dolů do podzemí. Otevřel rezavé dveře do samotného pekla. Chrám bolesti mě obejme jako moje nejtajnější noční můry. Budete rozsekáni na kousky, mučeni ve starých kobkách, páleni na hranici a stejně neodvoláte. Zlo je všude přítomné a dobro se zase jednou krčí v koutě a má vyplašený pohled. Máte rádi kapely jako IMMORTAL, DARK FUNERAL, IMPALED NAZARENE, staré SAMAEL, trávíte svůj volný čas i poslechem hnilobného klasického death metalu? Potom jste zde správně. VALDUR jsou naplno oddáni stínům, nihilismu, satanismu, paganismu a jejich nová nahrávka je toho jasným důkazem a dalším potvrzením. Doporučuji vám, abyste si opatřili i předchozí alba, rozhodně stojí za to. Osobně jsem se setkal zatím jen z předchozím počinem "Goat of Iniquity"  z roku 2018 (odkaz na recenzi naleznete dole pod článkem) a líbilo se mi, stejně jako celá diskografie. I letošní rok nám kapela umíchala jedovatý koktejl, který když pozřete, tak postupně zemřete v hrozných křečích. Nesmím zapomenout ani na to, že má nové album "Guilded Abyss" velmi dobře ošetřený zvuk (Mixed / mastered by Matthew at Canyon Lodge Studios) i motiv na obalu (Cover illustration by devilisyourmaster). Tahle kapela řeže do živého a pohřbí vás zaživa! Navštívil si spoustu temných seancí i krvavých rituálů. Většinou ti připadaly oběti zbytečné. Ale teď, teď je to úplně jiné. Satanistický, krvavý, temný a chladný black death metalový obřad, na kterém spatříte své vlastní démony! Jedovatá záhrobní záležitost!

It's as if I've descended several floors underground. I've opened a rusty door to hell itself. The temple of pain embraces me like my most secret nightmares. You will be cut to pieces, tortured in old dungeons, burned at the stake, and still you will not recant. Evil is everywhere, and good once again cowering in the corner, its eyes wide with fear. Do you like bands such as IMMORTAL, DARK FUNERAL, IMPALED NAZARENE, old SAMAEL, and do you spend your free time listening to rotten classic death metal? Then you've come to the right place. VALDUR are fully devoted to shadows, nihilism, Satanism, paganism, and their new recording is clear proof and further confirmation of this. I recommend that you get their previous albums as well, they are definitely worth it. Personally, I have only encountered their previous work, "Goat of Iniquity" from 2018 (link to the review can be found below the article), and I liked it, as well as their entire discography. This year, the band has mixed us another poisonous cocktail, which, if you drink it, will cause you to die in terrible convulsions. I mustn't forget to mention that the new album "Guilded Abyss" has a very well-produced sound (mixed/mastered by Matthew at Canyon Lodge Studios) and cover art (cover illustration by devilisyourmaster). This band cuts to the quick and buries you alive! You've attended many dark séances and bloody rituals. Most of the time, you found the sacrifices unnecessary. But now, now it's completely different.
